Drugstore Madness Wednesday|Hard Candy Heavy Duty Concealer

It’s time for the Drugstore Madness Wednesday! $1 for a travel size concealer. How cool is that, right!

I was inspired by the Glamoflauge foundation that gets me going back to Walmart to check out more of the Hard Candy’s products. While browsing, I stumbled into this travel size Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer by Hard Candy on the liquidation racks. Needless to say, I’ve got to pick this up since it costs $1 only. Sadly, that’s the only shade available which is a bummer but I don’t really mind if it’s Ultra Light or not a this point. My brain is telling me to get it no matter what as if it a limited edition or something. I think it’s a recently acquired habit of me picking up products that has only one left. Is it only me or do you guys have this habit as well? Hmm… I’m curious to know.

Anyways, let’s just hop right in. Dang it! This shade in Ultra Light is obviously too pale on me but for $1, I don’t mind trying it with my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser which I happened to do a review recently. I’ll put the link down below if you like to check it later.

I notice that the consistency of this formula is much thicker than other eye concealers I’ve tried before. But even though it feels thick, I don’t have the problem of blending or taping it gently down with my fingers. I suggest using your fingers instead of a blending brush but do what you’re more accustomed to. The reason why you’re using your fingers is so that the heat from your fingers will melt and make blending a breeze. But that’s just my opinion that’s all.

This heavy duty concealer will give a full coverage on the dark circles, under your chin, blemishes, acne and redness around the nose areas. So, a little goes a long way. I wouldn’t recommend layering it since it might cause the finishing looking cakey.

When I mixed this Hard Candy concealer with Maybelline Instant Age-Rewind (full review here), it blends perfectly. The light shade wasn’t that obvious after mixing the two formula together. I’m satisfied with the appearance and the performance so far and will continue to be using this concealer. It has good quality and value for money.

So, what do you think of this concealer? Have you tried and Hard Candy products from Walmart? Please like and leave your comment on the section below.

Thank you so much for reading 🙂

  1. I got this a while ago in the shade medium which is ok. It is very thick though. I do always use my fingers to blend instead of a brush. I couldn’t make it work for under eyes so it was neglected – recently I took it out to try to mix it with something but it has separated in the tube. I’m trying to see if I can try to stir it or something – shaking the tube didn’t do much.

  2. That was a really great find. Yes I pick up products that I can’t really use either. I have a box that I store them in and then periodically I pass out gift bags of samples and full size products. Everyone likes trying something new. Great post.

  3. I just bought it last week … and so far I’m not quite sure 😦 My review coming soon (I will try to mix it with another concealer) Great post sweetie xxx

    1. Thanks love. Yes, I do find the formula to be a little too thick and the shade I got is ultra light but it give medium coverage which I like. Good idea to mix it. We’re like “Picasso” hahaha!

  4. wow, that is super light for your skin!!! I guess on both far side of the skintones…the struggle is REAL for the right shades for ultra light or ultra dark skintones in the makeup aisle !!

    1. That’s true with the Yin and Yang and one must master the balance of finding the true color tone.
In my case, I picked this shade up because it was only $1 and I don’t mind trying it with other darker shades. I’m surprised it works out perfectly. I’m in the process of experimenting the mixture and hopefully a review will be out this weekend. Don’t forget to check back whahahaha!
