Beauty from Sephora [First Impression Review]

Today, I just wanted to share a few beauty products which I recently acquired from Sephora online. I haven’t been out and about for the past few weeks due to my health but nevertheless I’m so glad to still be able to get my beauty addiction fix through online.

I believed I’ve shared my sneak peek on my facebook the moment I received the parcel  and promised a review coming soon.

So, without further ado, let’s begin. Here are three products:

  1. Besame Lipstick Matches in Red Velvet
  2. Clarins Shaping Facial Lift Serum (redeem from points)
  3. Dior Eau For Men (promotional gift)

When I saw the promotion code at Sephora to get this for free, I immediately jumped into it. A few days later, I got a parcel at my door.

I really love the scents of men’s perfume, or eau de toilette. Insane right! Yes, I’m just weird isn’t it. I know! I’d have guess that much lol!

Ingredient: Moroccan Grapefruit, Calabrian Bergamot, Crimean Coriander, Tuscan Iris, Virginia Cedarwood

Anyways,  I didn’t expect to receive a decent size bottle of this Dior Eau De Toilette For Men. For this to come in 10 ml net wt size, that’s freaking insane. Bear in mind, it’s a free stuff with purchase if you know what I mean. Regular size bottle is CD$70.00 (net wt: 1.7 oz) Not that I’m complaining or something but dang was I impressed. You totally got me on this one, Sephora!

Love the droplet applicator packaging. I can smell the beautiful scents the moment I pulled out the applicator for photo shoot. It smells really amazing and not overpowering as I know some found in Dior women perfume. I can’t wait to surprise this gift to my honey bear this evening.

I have some pathetic points just enough to redeem this Clarins Shaping Facial Lift Total Volume Serum in 0.3 oz net wt for $98.00. I’ve been obsessed with Clarins skin care products this past month. Not sure what has gotten into me.

Here is what I think of my first impression with this product. It smells amazing, very calming, soft and gentle on my skin. Love the consistency of the serum. Very lightweight and absolute quickly into skin. This cream is for normal, dry, combination and oily skin typed. Hurray!

Clarins Shaping Facial Lift Serum does come at a price and is something I’d definitely use during my skincare routine. I’m all good so long as the products works for me. But if this is not within your budget for twice weekly use, you can use it by rotation with other brands!

I’ll continue to be trying out this cream and report back for more updates.

I saw this Bésame Lipstick Matches by a beauty blogger and was intrigued to try it myself. I was extremely interested in this brand of lipstick because of the packaging and because they only make different shades of red.

When I first got it I noticed the packaging is so pretty. Even the outer packaging looks amazing.

The full size lipstick comes in their signature gold metal tube with red chrysanthemums and vines on it. The lipstick wasn’t as heavy as I expected it to be but it doesn’t feel cheap either. Love it! The matchbook lipstick is so cute.

There are five lovely shades in this collection. I got the Bésame Red Velvet Matchbook for CAD$7.00 at Sephora online. Also available  Bésame online.

One match is enough for multiple applications.

I feel like the set is a good way to try the brand out. I’m looking forward to using the lipstick matchbook next time I go out. I’ve never seen anything like it. The packaging alone is something makeup collectors would enjoy. It’s also Parabens and Gluten Free.

When I first put it on, I noticed that it was opaque turning to opaque after 1 to 2 swipes. It does dry down a bit and it becomes more matte. The description of a satin matte is about right.

This lipstick is not budge proof and it does transfer with a light lip print. I wore it for 3 hours to eat waffle, drink coffee and keep doing my regular chores. Love, love it!

What do you think – would you be tempted to try something like this?

Thanks so much for taking the time to read. I’ll see you again on the next one 🙂

Sharon xoxo

    1. It’s on and off kinda thing. Aw thanks so much Ingrid, I’m feeling much better. And you? Hope you are doing better too.
Yes, the packaging is super cute. I was sold the moment I saw the packaging. I like that it has the vintage look. Sorry to hear that, the promotion has already ended. xo

    2. Next time I’ll have to check the men rewards 😀 Yes! I’m feeling better.
All Bésame products are so cute; have you tried their powders?

  1. I’ve loved every Clarins serum that I’ve tried but they’re SO pricey ugh! Yes, redeem for samples if you can!
What an interesting concept with the lipstick matches – other brands should do this. What a great way to try before committing to a full tube!
