Welcome back to Blogmas Bag Monday week #2. This is a weekly series for the month of December. Each week I rotate makeup products to try out and review for a full week. This week I test out some of my favorite holiday makeup products.
If you want to see all products perform last week than just keep on reading till the end.
I tested out the Makeup Revolution London Ultra Eyeshadows in Affirmation. There are 32 eyeshadows in this palette. You good color selection from matte, shimmer to metallic. I’m also loving all the names of the shadows in this palette.
Top row L-R: Pledge, Forward, Affirmation, Morale, Approve. Hope, Advance & Truth. As we approach nearer to the biggest holiday ever and as year 2017 closing to an end, it’s also a perfect time to reflect the past by giving thanks with words of affirmation and setting new goals for the new year. The names of these eyeshadows speaks to me for example I want to tell myself to press forward, there’s hope, take time, be confidence, make promise, reliance and share positive vibes. Which of these pop up the most to you? Share in the comment and let me know down below!
I’ve been reaching out for Pledge, Forward, Advance and Truth practically the past few days for my everyday neutral eye makeup look.
Second row from L-R: Positive, Vouch, Accept, Time, Reliance, Confidence, Blaze & Light. These shadows swatches beautifully with only one swipe on bare hands. They’re that pigmented and could we just take a second to just appreciate the stunning colors. I’m loving all the shades in this row. Among the eyeshadows in this palette, I’d say the warmest color tones comes from this row. They’re very versatile and stay on the entire day I was wearing them. I didn’t notice all fall out or creasing from any of the shadows whatsoever. They stay put the entire time which I really appreciate.
Third row L-R: Vow, Reveal, Oath, Rely, Consent, Willing. Vouch & Promise. The formula and pigmentation of each eyeshadow is quite consistent. They’re soft and smooth in texture, thus making blending so easy. The colors are true to its color. What you see is what you get.
Last row L-R: Announce, Convey, Assure, Disclose, State, Insist, Bold & Declare are my least favorite shades except for Assure and Insist which are great for smoky eye look. I was hoping Declare to be a really dark matte black but turns out, it’s not as pigmented and a little patchy to my liking. That’s the only complain I’ve from this palette.
Otherwise, overall I’m quite impressed with this palette. I really like the formula and the color payoff. If you’re down with cool toned shadows and are on the market for a product that feels special with an affordable price tag then this is a great item to add to your makeup collection.
You may have noticed that I’ve been obsessed with Tarte products lately and when I saw this Pro Glow To Go Highlight & Contour Palette on the Sephora website during their Black Friday Sale, it’s obvious I had to get it. There are three products in the set, you get a highlighter, a lip paint and a mascara.
This is a two highlighters and one contour powder palette. A trio compact packaging that comes with a big mirror is very travel friendly. The formula is pretty dense (in a good way) so there was not a lot of excess powder kicked up in the pan. The first two highlighters are frosted shimmer and most suitable for someone who likes a shinny and more shimmery highlighter. The matte contour performs amazingly well. It’s highly pigmented and a little goes a long way with this product. I like how easy it blends and the bronze-y finish it gives.
It smell like a delicious cocoa candy, I wish I could eat it.
Top to bottom:
- Gleam is a light, golden beige with warm undertones and a frosted sheen.
- Burst is a bright, creamy yellow with a golden frosted shimmer.
- Chisel is a muted, medium brown with subtle, warm yellow undertones and a matte finish.
This one product stand out the most for me and I think you guys will love it just as much as I do! The pigmentation is out of this world. It’s insanely beautiful! Just one swipe on the cheekbone is all you need for a beautiful highlight. I wore the shade Burst again yesterday and yes, I think I’m falling in love with this stunning golden highlighter.
I think this palette will work amazing for someone who likes warmer and more intense highlighter like myself. The bad news is it’s not going to work for all skin tones and if you like subtle highlighter then this palette is not for you.
Next is the Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara that’s included in this set. The shade I’ve is in Jet Black. It’s a deluxe sample size tube packaging with a nice floral design on the cap. When I saw the word paint, I’m down with it. I was really excited to test it out. You guys know that I’m always on board to try everything or anything new brands comes out with and same goes for mascara.
After a week of trying, I concluded that it won’t replace my love for the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara. It’s one of my most favorite mascara of all time. A mascara that adds volume and length to my lashes, what’s that not to love. I just love it! I’d stick with my old fame and honestly I don’t mind playing with a new mascara at all. Did I mention this product is cruelty free! Well, now you know.
I would recommend this to someone who already has a full and thick curly lashes but wants to up on the volume then you’re going to enjoy it.
Moving on is the Tartiest Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in a travel size packaging. I like it when brands throw in lip product in their holiday set. For someone who has more than 60 lipsticks in my vanity, a travel size is mostly appreciated when it comes to trying out product. Don’t get me wrong, I love lipsticks and lip products in full size and I’m not complaining but once in awhile when brands gives you a sample size, I simply couldn’t ignore.
I don’t have the name of this particular shade and from my experience, I’m going to say it’s a rosy nude shade if you ask me.
My latest obsession is long wearing lip color and this product give me just that. I agree with the claim of quick dry lip paint. The formula dries up so fast on the lips in a good way and so comfortably lightweight. It’s feather light you wouldn’t notice you’re wearing it. The finishing goes from sheer to full if you like to layer up. A beautiful matte that’s not drying on the lips. Now we’re talking! On that positive note, I urge you to check it out. You won’t regret purchasing this one!
I’m not lying when I told you that I’ve that so many lipsticks, right! Here’s another deluxe sample I got with my purchase of more than $25 at Sephora. High end lipstick is my jam and I love collecting them.
This is my first acquisition of the Givenchy Le Rouge lipstick line and I’m all floored over this luxury packaging. The black and white tube packaging makes it look so sleek and elegant. I can stare at it the whole day!
A stunning shade of Frambroise Velour (315) is described as a cool berry with a natural finish. The color is outstanding and I believe it will work across all skin tones, from light to dark and cool to warm. Everyone can pull off with this shade. You don’t have to be intimidated with the dark shade, it’s surprisingly not as dark as I thought and highly wearable for any occasion. I like that it doesn’t run vampy like some brands I’ve tried in the past. The texture is soft and feels so comfortable on lips. I’m excited to wear this shade over the Fall and Winter! The color is so flattering and helps brighten complexion. Wonderful!!!
I couldn’t make a favorite without mentioning the Yves Saint Laurent Radiant Touch Perfecting Pen in the shade Luminous Ivory (2). Perfect color for fair to light complexions with yellow undertones.
I don’t remember owning a gold pen highlighter before so this I treasure.
I’ve been doing all those all-night blog a thons I’ve been pulling to get this Blogmas weeks off the ground and it’s finally catching up with me. When my hubby pointed out about the huge bags under my eyes, I’ve to do something about these and fast.
According to the company, the pen is a highlighter cream that will help your face “capture eight hours of sleep with the click of a pen.” It’s not really a concealer per se but rather a illuminator that brightens and make you look more awake.
I love to use this under my eyes, forehead, beside and on the bridge of my nose for brightening purposes. All I want this holiday season is a radiant and brightening look that hides my dark eyes and this pen did just that. I feel like I’m going to love this!
I was very excited with the new Elf Cosmetics Highting Brush, it’s not new new in the market but at least new to me. I’ve a few of their brush collection and I would say they didn’t disappoint me whatsoever. This is beautiful and has become my go to whenever I need to use it for highlighting and for blush. The quality is good and it’s a synthetic fiber brush. It works so well, I love elf brushes. It’s soft but still densely packed enough to actually work. I’d say it has that perfect softeness that still function very well. If you’re in the market for an affordable and yet workable brush, look no further. You need to try this for yourself!
So, that’s everything from last week and right here are products that I’ll be testing out for the upcoming week. All they’re as follows:
