Cover FX Custom Cover Drops| First Impressions

I picked this up at Sephora yesterday and I’m in love with this product. I love the idea of creating my own tinted moisturizer and foundation by mixing with this cover drops makes me really excited. I mean who doesn’t like to customize their own foundation right! You can also mix it with serums, moisturizers, primers or any beauty products. This stuff is not designed to wear alone!

You get 0.5 fl oz for $56.00 which is a little steep but if I’m going to be completely honest, I’ve never seen anything like this. I think it’s really cool and unique. Cover FX is a high end brand and a great brand.

Here’s how it works: Just adjust your coverage by the number of drops you add …

1 Drop = Sheer Coverage

2 Drops = Medium Coverage

3 Drops = Full Coverage

4 Drops = Extra Full Coverage

They’ve a huge color selection. Twenty five colors to choose from to be exact. I’ve been enjoying this so much that I so obsessed!

Here’s the color swatch up closed. I’m in the shade N30 and it’s for light to medium light skin with neutral undertones. It’s perfect for all skin types.

I use my Rimmel Insta Flawless Perfecting Radiant Skin Tint in 006 Light Medium.

I did  the size of a dime on the back of my hand and I mixed it with two drops of the cover drops like so.

Formula with one cover drop

I don’t see it’s doing much with just one drop so I try with two drops as seen below.

Ooohh…. this is turning out so much better. I just mixed it with my finger and then put it on my face. I love how easy it is to blend out and the result is spectacular. When I look closely it gave kind of a subtle glow which I really appreciate on my dry to combination skin.

So my overall thoughts is that I give this product a huge thumbs up. I love how easy it is to apply with your finger, like you don’t need to use anything else. The formula and consistency on these are great. It’s phenomenal! I think it’s really amazing just how well it mixed with other formulas. I’m obsessed with this shade right here. Find a color that you really love and buy one. It should last you for a very long time. A plus for me!

Thanks so much for stopping by and read! Have a Happy Monday everyone!

  1. Whoa that is some detailing of a product usage. Should have shown more colors, as you rightly said there are more.Just one question, when you can use this product? Mostly any occassion, you had thought.

    1. Thanks so much! You can check out more colors at Sephora and Cover FX websites. As I mentioned in my post this is a high end brand and I can only afford to buy one shade unfortunately. This cover drops is not to be wore alone and has to be accompanied with makeup products for coverage. I’m currently obsessed with this drops so I’ll be wearing with my makeup. Hope this helps answer
      your question.

  2. Amazing review, I should definite check this product out, even though it’s a bit on the pricy side but if it’s gonna last a long time then maybe it’s worth it!! Great post and thanks for sharing!!

  3. I absolutely love the idea of this, I have issues finding just the right cover for myself so being able to mix it to make what is right for you is just up my street I’m going to have to try and find it for myself.

  4. The price for Cover FX is afforadable and I like how it has a huge range of color selection. That way I can choose the one that is closest to my skin tone. It also looks pretty easy to use with the drip.

  5. I like the idea of having color drops that I can add to primer or moisturizer that I own to control the level of coverage. I’ve been into BB and CC creams for you. This might be a nice alternative when I feel a little more coverage might be needed. Thanks for posting!

  6. I would have loved to see the finished look on your face and compare foundation with 1 drop of Cover FX vs 2 drops. I’m a hugely visual person, so I like seeing things on a person before making a decision. Glad it worked out for you though!
