Bourjois Khol & Contour Eyeliner Pencil

Hey guys! Bourjois is a brand that I am a big fan of. I gave many positive reviews on their foundation and lipsticks and etc… and it has never let me down. I’m so thrilled to try this eyeliner which is this Khol & Contour eyeliner in Bronze Raffine. It’s a really nice color of Bronze-y shade. There are 7 different color shades available on their website but I got mine from Winners. You can also find it at Amazon for $12.90 but they only have it on Ultra Black.

The color payoff is definitely good as compared to other kohl pencils which I have tried before so far. It designed to be worn at the inner and outer rim of the eyes. Today I’m reviewing this Bronze Raffine  shade and not Ultra Black. This kohl pencil has quite an intense line even with a single swipe as the swatch below.

It glides very smoothly and it does not sting the waterline. With its soft formula, I can easily create a smudge look around my eyes and when it’s sharpened, the pencil draws an accurate lines. This would be a nice liner to draw on waterline and to make smoky eyes look distinctively beautiful. Basically, this Khol pencil can be used for waterline, upper and lower lash line.

I made a single swipe swatch to show that it soft and doesn’t drag on skin. Bourjois says that this Khol eyeliner pencil has a long lasting wear of 16 hours and it’s waterproof. Meaning for drawing waterline, this kohl pencil will not be a problem, after all it’s waterproof. Yay!!

Overall, I do like this khol eyeliner pencil and I’m happy that it was my autumn liner purchased which I won’t regret getting. On top of that, I’m planning to get another Ultra Black shade for a more intense line finish for an extreme smoky eye look.

Top 5 Tuesday Favorite – Drugstore Mascara !!!

Hey beauty junkies! I’m excited to talk about my Top 5 Tuesday Favorite of the week. It’s the Mascara Edition!!! yay!!!

I always linked mascara as another makeup tool that’s very fun to wear for everday and party time. No doubt that I’m no super duper fan of mascara but I admit that I do have a few which I really really like. I’m particularly more picky when it comes to mascara since I want to wear an eyemakeup that doesn’t irritate and not making my eyes looked like a panda after wearing it the whole day. That would be disasterously embarrassing!

Anyways, I did managed to select 5 of my favorite mascara and they’re not in any particular order.

Rimmel Volume Accelerator in 003 Extreme Black (net wt: 0.23 fl oz). It says this mascara has a boosting complex which came with a plumping brush for a remarkably fuller and lusher looking lashes. This one doesnt have a waterproof formula but still make my eyes look fuller no doubt.

 

I’m wearing it today to show the results I got from applying 2 coats of this volume accelerator. I like it’s because it gives extra volume to my lashes but not lengthening it. It’s basically darken my lashes and makes it look prety and my eyes bigger. Two coats makes lashes look so much prettier.

Covergirl Lash Blast Volume waterproof in Very Black. Love this amazing mascara since it has a very sturdy brush/wand that is magical. The bristle are short and it’s able to do the job to make my lashes fuller and it’s waterproof. I don’t usually wear mascara on my bottom lashes but with this brush, I don’t have the problem at all. Formula dries up easily to prevent fall out that makes application messy.

NYC Show Time Voluminizing mascara in 844 Extreme Black (Net wt: 0.27 fl oz). This mascara I wear when I’m in a rush and believe it or not I can wear it without looking at a mirror. Because the brush is small and the bristle short, I can apply it nearer to my lashlines. Great to wear to go for grocery shoping or for just running daily errands.

Hard Candy flat to FAB in Blackest Black (net wt: 0.074 oz). I did some reviews on both Hard Candy mascaras in my earlier posting and I’m picking them up as my favorite because I really like them. It’s small but compact. Love the cute brush and the packaging.

Hard Candy Lashaholic is also in Blackest Black (net wt: 0.063 oz). The brush is pretty much the same as the Covergirl lashblast mascara. These brushes works wonders. I don’t see any fall out or sticky sensation on my lashes. It’s very affordable and I like the texture as well.

Basically, these are all my Top 5 favorite drugstore mascara and I’ll be looking out for more when some of these babes dries out. For now, I’ve been wearing them for many of my makeup look photos and it has been a great experience for me to somehow branches out to mascara. I’m glad I did!

Everything is AWESOME!!! Too Faced Lip Gloss

Hey guys! I’ve never had a Too Faced makeup before and I am super excited to share with you guys my first impression on this Glamour Gloss Volumizing Lip Gloss in First Time (Perfect Nude). Net wt:

It has a pretty packaging with a crystal jewel at the top end. The sponge wand applicator is pretty awesome.

Natural lips without lip gloss plumper.

Lips with Too Faced volumizing lip gloss. I experienced  slight burning sensation immediately after I applied this lip gloss and it lasted for 15-20 minutes. It glides so smoothly and it smells great. It doesn’t feel too sticky and it just has a bit of shine which is real nice. Lovely pigments and love this nude shade that gives natural pouty lips.

Lips with Too Faced Lip gloss plump after 5-10 minutes . I do feel that it adds volume on my lips. Let’s see the difference on this photo compared to the one above it. I simply love this awesome lip gloss plumper. It’s so awesome and I’m so happy to have picked this. I just love it!

Note of caution: not to apply it out of the natural lip curves to avoid mouth irritation. The selling price is $19.00 regular and on special for $17.10 at Too Faced website. Available in 12 diferent shades. Awesome!!!

Get Your Starlooks ~ Lip Gloss

Starlooks Lip gloss in Guilty Pleasure 

Hi guys, I shared my Ipsy Glam bag on my previous post and I promised that I will make a review on some of the makeup and skincare once I have tried them. So, I really like this particular lip gloss by Starlooks. It came in a small sample size packaging. Would be an excellent idea to bring along in a travel purse. I got mine in Guilty Pleasure in peachy pink.

Packed in a translucent tube which comes with a doe foot applicator. This is a sample size lip gloss.

I love the color shade since it’s not too pink. The outside packaging looks opaque but it’s very glossy when I tried it on.

The color swatch of the lip gloss looks opaque and matte but wait until it’s on the lips.

The up side of this lip gloss is the ability to give a glistering finish look without feeling sticky. It’s formulated to have a creamy effect while providing a long lasting gloss.

Nice! 

I wore it alone without applying any lippie and I like how natural it looks. My lips felt moisturized and I can wear this all the time.

It’s available in 8 different gloss shades to choose from and it’s price for $12.00 for regular size tube.

Cracked Face! Halloween Makeup Look!!!

Hey guys! We’re always trying to find our next best Halloween costume. If you’re wanting to try something different this halloween like myself then please scroll down more to see how I did my cracked face makeup idea.

Halloween is just few days away and I thought what better time to do this halloween makeup look.

I did this look because I’m excited for halloween day. So, this is just my idea  to bringing up my halloween makeup to the next level.

For this look. I wear a Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation in True Beige 203. The color is pale enough for this look. Then I proceeded to draw a thicker eyebrow and liner using Bonnebelle eyeliner but I just draw it thicker for a bolder look. Next is the NYX shadow in Orange shade where I apply it underneath my eyes. Last is using the Essence eyeliner and I create the pen lines all over my face and the scar. Lips, I wore the same orange eyeshadow by tapping it on.

Mini Beauty Haul!

Good morning friends! It’s Friday and it’s that time of the week that I share my beauty haul. This week I’m going to have a mini makeup haul since I have overspent my budget on makeup for October. But this mini haul is special in a way because I have been wanting to get the Too Faced and Bourjois makeup for sometime and finally that day came. I got them actually while I was shopping for fall sweater. The price were reasonable and  I’m perfectly happy with my purchase. So, let’s see what I got here!

Revlon Colorstay Smoky Shadow Stick in 205 Atomic (Net wt: 0.07 oz)

Too Faced Glamour Gloss Voluminizing Lip Gloss in First Time (Net wt: 0.12 oz)

Bourjois Illuminating Touch in 96 Rose Universel (Net wt: 0.05 oz)

L’oreal Visible Lift Smooth Absolute Foundation in 170 Natural Beige (Net wt: 0.85 fl oz)

Bourjois Illuminating Touch is a must get for me. I’ve seen and read good reviews from some UK beauty bloggers and I just have to get it to try it myself. I love the packaging very much and Bourjois is one of my favorite high street brand.

Next is this L’Oreal Visible Lift Instant Anti-Aging Makeup foundation which it says to instantly reveals supersmooth skin.Skin feels silky, smoother, luminous, flawless and weightless coverage. It came with a nice brush and it would be super convenient to bring when travelling. It came with 7 other different shades to choose.

Revlon Colorstay Smoky Shadow Stick comes in 10 different shades and can be worn for 12 hours. I like the 2 ways crayon type cream shadow which is so easy to apply and a perfect size to drop in my bag. Both sides have shimmer in this formula. I will do a smoky eye look with it on my next blog together with my review. I’m excited already! Yoo! Hoo!

Lastly, is the Too Faced lip gloss which I need to have it when I saw it. It has a nice packaging with a beautiful crystal on the top. I got mine in First Time and true that it was my first time to pick up a higher-end lip gloss and I’m sure it won’t be the last. I look forward to wearing it and share my thoughts on it.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Palette Review & Swatches

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share a review with you guys of my most-used product lately Naked 2 Basics Palette by Urban Decay. I first heard about this Naked Palette after watching several Youtube girls raving about it and so you know that I absolutely have to pick one up and see what was all the fuss about. If Urban Decay has matte shades palette then, I got to have it since I’m always intrigued by matte shades the most. So does it live up to the hype? Let’s take a look.

The packaging is made of plastic material casing but study. The palette is as big as a HD cellphone. It’s slim and sleek. It has a good size mirror but no brush applicator. Net wt: 0.30 oz

Each palette has 6 shadows in taupe-hues neutral which has light to darker shadows. There are 5 never-been-seen before shades and it says to have cooler tone and it complements Naked 2 perfectly.
I chose Naked 2 Basics instead of Naked Palette because I prefer the more neutral taupe shades for my skin tone.

L-R : Skimp/Stark/Frisk/Cover/Primal/Undone
I love all these matte shadows except the Skimp which has a little shimmer which I used it as highlighter on brow bone. Then the darkest shade on the palette is the Undone which is more of a smokey deep taupe rather than black.

Here are the color swatch. As you can see the left half of the shadow is in lighter shades than the right half which has darker shades. The colors are matte and has highly pigmented.

Overall, I’ve really been loving using this palette especially Stark, Frisk and Primal for an all matte neutral eye-look.

Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner Review

This is my first love with Kat Von D Tattoo eyeliner in Trooper (0.007 oz). I got this as a free sample when I ordered my Urban Decay Naked2 Basics at Sephora online.
 
I love the design on the packaging. The black color liner is fine and liquid-y. I did a swatch and it glides very well. It’s a waterproof liner.

Today, I want to share how I create my everyday winged liner look using this tattoo liner. It has a superfine tip brush for precision drawing. Oh wow… I love the way the tip glides so easily and it’s gentle to eyes. I can do the bottom lids and applying it nearer on eyelids without causing any irritation. Sometimes, if the line is not even, I can always layer it a little thicker to make both liner balance.
 
It’s smooth and doesn’t smudge.  The fluid application flows easily and it’s fun to play with many different look with this liner. Winged or cat, you name it. But when I did my winged look, this liner makes drawing a thin line so much easier. With the short pencil design, I can control the liner better, perfect winged eye look without using much effort. The formula seems to dries up quickly once in contact with skin. The ink leaves some watery finish look. The liquid ink are easily removed with eye remover.

Overall, I love how it glides and not causing irritation in my eyes. That’s a plus point for Kat Von D Tattoo liner.

I think this is an incredible product but having said that, the price is at a higher end border. The last time I checked, it’s selling for $23.00 at Sephora.

Flawless BB Cream by Body Shop

  

The Body Shop ~ Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream  in Dark shades

Today, seems like a good day for me to share some information on what I read about BB cream. The trend seems to have started from Korea in 1990’s but was founded some 50 years ago by a German Doctor for the sole purpose of covering scars. From my understanding BB cream was recommended by dermatologist to cover the scars and help heal the skin. But I guess it went saturated and so we have all the creams from A-E.

BB cream was one of the hottest trends in the beauty industry last year and it doesn’t seems to stop there. Clearly catching onto the alphabetization theme, then came CC cream, even DD cream and now EE cream which were just launched by Estee Lauder recently. That was  the newest EE cream = Enlighten Eye effect skin tone corrector SPF30. So, all these creams have become popular simply because the demand was there.

I am also among the people who are using BB cream in order to get a quick fix on my face before putting up makeup.

Are you wondering what my favorite BB cream is? First of all, it’s important to analyse my skin tone type and preference on choosing my BB cream which might be different from yours. I have dry skin and so I will prefer to choose a dewy finish with natural coverage and light texture. I don’t want to feel like I’m wearing it at all.

Finding a right BB cream can be a challenge. It has to fit just right. I have tried many BB creams and finally I found my true love with this Tea Tree Flawless BB cream by The Body Shop. It hits all the criteria I mentioned and I love wearing it.

The formula has a darker tint but when I apply and blend them in, the color just don’t looked so dark on skin. Last time I check, my face and neck has the same color tone (photo below). Yay!!!  True that it doesn’t have full coverage but I’m fine with it as long as it covers some of my uneven skin and that it gives a dewy finish.

The texture is a little bit more liquid-y than the Korean BB cream which are much thicker.  As for this Tea Tree BB cream I can feel the cooling and relaxing effect from this amazing cream. Also the smells are just so wonderful.

As for the price, I paid $15.00 for it and with the special offer of Buy 3, Get 2 Free promotion at the Body Shop, it’s a good bargain.

So, overall I like this Flawless BB cream very much and will continue to wear it and planning to get a lighter shade for winter since my color tone changes and also to catch the promotion while it lasts.

Beauty Haul – Makeup Haul!

Happy Friday Beauty friends! It’s Friday and it’s time for Beauty Haul! Yay!!!

This week, I’ll be sharing with you guys some of these makeup haul which caught my eyes when I was at Winners (Canadian Retail Chain Stores).Well, this may be my may impetuous buy but I’m happy that I got them. I’m obsessed with makeup and so I have to get them. Once I have tried them thoroughly I’ll give my thoughts to share them with all of you. But for now, I’m just as thrilled to just post them up.

Here are some of my beauty makeup haul.  So, let’s start. I have here the …

Bourjois Khol & Contour eyeliner (16h) in 79 Bronze Raffine (wt: 0.04 oz). It says to be enriched with pure pigments and allows for an intense results lasting up to 16 hours. Its soft and blendable formula is ideal to apply both on the inner and outer rims of the eye. Had been tested on sensitive and contact lens wearers. I picked up this bronze color which is perfect for autumn eye makeup. It’s also waterproof so no worries about freaking out.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick. It says to keep perfected pout hydrated for 10 hours. Does it include eating and drinking time?  Ok, I always wanted to have a collection of Bourjois’s makeup line and once I spotted it, I can’t resist the temptation to get it. I always love red but this fuchsia seems to speak to me and well with the price I have to get it because it’s Bourjois! On color swatch it has  rich pigments and pretty creamy finish. I’m not sure when I will wear this color but I’ll make a review to share.

Cake Kiss Me Lip Butter Balm. This I bought because of the cute tube packaging. Furthermore,  it’s a limited edition and also I’ll be needing lots of lip balm when the weather gets dryer here. I love to collect limited edition makeup’s too.

Next is the Maybelline Age Rewind “The Perfector- Primer Inside” pressed powder. The white swirl is mixed into the compact to infer the primer inside. Although powder is usually applied after primer , concealer or foundation. It says no caking, no settling. Provide a touch of radiance for a younger looking skin instantly.

I picked this in light/pale. My bad bet, I didn’t see the shades after been drawn with this swirl thingy (giggling!!!). Anyways, this shade is definitely too pale for me. I usually get light to medium shades or just medium. I’ll probably return it or mixed with darker powder. I haven’t decided yet and yes I read some good reviews on this though. Urghh!!! What to do???

Revlon ColorBurst Lip gloss has amazing colors and shine that make lips pop. It’s said to be 5x more shine than patent leather. I picked up this lip gloss in Embellished, it’s like dark violet/plum color and I like the fact that it’s not sticky. Seems to have glittery formula in it.

Stila Countless Color Pigments Eye shadow in Encore (wt: 0.1 oz). Below are the claims by Stila

Last but not least is this Stila Stay All Day-wet to set eye shadow trio in Safari (wt: 0.15 oz). I paid $12.99 for it. Here is a preview of the stay all day shadow. It’s a 3D velvety shadow which are unique, it gives a luxe finish on lids when combined with water. Stila promises an all day wear that’s crease-proof. I like the looks of these a lot so I’d be curious about trying one or two shades.

Ipsy Glam Bag ~ Beauty Candy (October )

Let’s take a look at what’s inside!

Yes!!! I received my first Ipsy Glam Bag today. Hurray!!! October’s bag is about Beauty Candy.

I’m happy that it arrives but not so on the products which I got in my glam bag. They’re more on skincare than makeup products. Anyways, since I just got them today, I’ll just be going to give all of them a thorough try and will share my thoughts on my next post. I just drop everything and starting blogging this first, in case some of you are still waiting or wanting to know what’s in my ipsy’s October bag. Well, here are the makeup which I got :-

Starlooks Lip Gloss

Starlooks Lip Glosses are created with a truly moisturizing, luxury, non-sticky formula. Next in the bag is SKone Tattooed waterproof eyeliner.

Tattooed Eyeliner is the perfect liquid liner to line your top lid, or create a sexy cat eye. No need to reapply – it lasts ALL day! (Net wt: 0.07 oz)

Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser in 15ml. Well, the smell of this cleanser is not very appealing. It has a very strange smell of strawberry fruit but with other ingredients, it make the whole cleanser not so fun to smell on. As unpleasant as it sounds I’ll give it a try and will leave my review after I have tried all the others in my next post.

Figs and Rouge hand cream in Rose Berry. It says on the website that these delectable creams soften, nourish & thoroughly pamper hands throughout the day, quickly absorbing to provide super-soft skin. The weight is 0.67 oz.

Lastly the Albertini’s Warm Love Pumpkin Exfoliating Mask that says to removes old skin cells and stimulates new cell growth. I can’t wait to try this one.

Top 5 Tuesday Favorites – Simply Red Lipsticks

Happy Tuesday guys! I’m back again with my Top 5 Tuesday Favorites and this week I’m going to write about red lipsticks. Yes!!!! my most favorite color lipsticks. I know we’re only in the fall and winter is yet to come but I’m just thrilled to share some of my red lipsticks today. I’m always on the hunt for a perfect red color lipsticks. They’re bold and beautiful and can definitely lift up appearance and moods. It’s noticeable and have that sexy look of romance.

I have here two high end and three drugstore’s lipsticks to talk about. They’re in no particular order.

From left to right:

Clinique Creamy Nude Soft Shine (03) Long lasting lipstick. The reason I chose this to be my top 5 fave is because I had it for more than 5 years and it’s one of my favorite nude color lipstick I ever found love in. I share this because of the quality and the formula of this lipstick that has not changed over so many years. It’s a real keeper. It glides very smoothly and has medium coverage. It has a soft shine finish which makes lips look moist. There are 11 color shades available and I love the merlot red and watermelon shades. They are all beautiful colors with long lasting wear. It’s selling for $19.00 at Sephora and for that price point, why not.

Sothys Rouge Ardent. My first love of red lipsticks was from wearing this Sothys Red color shade. It has such rich pigmentation and fabulous matte color finish. It feels velvety and it smell awesome. I had this for a decade and since I have found more red favorites I kept it in my collection. The packaging has changed but the color intensity is simply gorgeous. There are many gorgeous colors available at Sothys. Please check on their website if you are interested with their products. Caution when wearing red lipstick – to wear nude lip liner to outline lips to prevent red lipstick from running or bleeding.  And you, do you know Sothys? Do you like their products?

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Matte in Really Red (006). I love, love this chilli red matte lipstick. Yes, it’s matte and I love it. The color might not be as long lasting as the sheen or sheer lipsticks but it still leaves some color stains behind. It doesn’t glide as smoothly but I love the high pigments formula. For a drugstore brand and the pricing, I’m totally going forward everything I used it up. I love this color so much I have another one as backup, just in case (chuckle!!!)

Rimmel Long Lasting Kate Moss in 107. This is also my favorite lip color. It has more berry red than tomatoes red. I found Kate Moss lipsticks awhile ago and so I grabbed one of this due to the velvety finish and beautiful pigmentation. It claims to be long lasting and it lasted me for 3 hours not 8 hours. This 107 color is the color Kate Moss wore on Rimmel’s website. Superb!!

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Standout Remarqueble (250). The color swatch of this colorburst is totaly amazing. I’m trully blown away by such mattifying balm it provides. Oh wow… a lip balm that’s so moisturizing and had a finish beyond comfort. It’s easy to carry around and easy to apply. No messy business and I like the packaging in a crayon type. It came with 10 dazzling color shades to select. It’s such a fun color to have.
