Beauty Haul! Target mini beauty makeup haul

Target mini makeup haul

It’s that time, my beauty mini makeup haul has landed. Yes!!! I went shopping again at Target and got some beauty bits that I really want to try. I’m thrilled to share some of  my haul today with you.

So here is the little haul of what I’ve purchased!

I have wanted to try the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral palette for a while and so I decided that it’s time for me to get it. It’s a little bit expensive for a small palette eyeshadow but I’m all in for this one. I picked up this gorgeous color Copper Peach palette in 0.20 oz and I know that I’m pretty sure going to have lots of fun playing with these colors.

pixi eyeshadow palette

I really want to talk more on each of the makeup that I just picked up. So, I will start off with this Pixi palette. So, many fun colors to play with, I’ll be busy for weeks. I would definitely give my thoughts and opinion once I have tried them including swatches etc in my next blog.

nyc new trio eyeshadow

Next up is the NYC New Trio Eyeshadow in 789 on West Vintage. Trying new colors are one of my favorite things to explore. So, I like this West vintage eyeshadow and absolutely doesn’t mind giving it a try. I got mine for less than $3.00 for 0.15oz depending on where you live. Pretty intense color palette and it came with a duo-end tiny little brush. Will have my review up soon.

Maybelline Fit Me foundation 315maybelline fit me foundation swatch

Next in line is the Maybelline Fit Me Octinoxate lotion with SPF18 . I got hold of this one in 315 on Soft Honey (1 fl oz) which was on special for $6.99. I made a color swatch and the color tone seems to pretty much complement my skin tone. Behind the bottle it does mentioned matches natural tones, blends seamlessly and let skin breathe. I’m not here to do a full blown review, don’t panic. Ha!Ha!

Finally, I also like to share with you this Cover Girl Pressed Powder in  715 on translucent medium. Compact powder is 0.32 oz for $6.99 (regular price $8.99) at Target. In the next few days, I will be using these pressed powder with my foundation and will share my experience with you as we go along.

Last item in my haul will be the NYC Show Time Mascara in 844 on Extreme Black. This mascara has shorter brush and it’s waterproof. Yeah!!!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. I’m off to prepare some yummy lunch.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!

Are there any new products you have tried recently?

Check back soon for reviews on some of the products in this blog! 🙂

Stay Beautiful!

Revlon Illuminance Cream Shadow

Revlon shadowRevlon illuminance cream shadowRevlon Illuminance cream shadow (2)Revlon Iluminnce cream color swatch

All twelve pretty color shades of cream formula to pick. I can’t resist the temptation to get this illuminance cream shadow. My mind is saying it’s sooooo prettyyyy …. have to get it…… Like always, I  grabbed this purple eyeshadow palette again. The one I got was in 725 on Va Va Va Bloom. I just love the color and how creamy it was when I applied them on. It came in four color shades in a slim, sleek and mirrored compact.

These were the look of the illuminance cream shadow eye makeup I did yesterday. I did some closed up photos and there were nice pretty color shades.I’m not sure if you can see it clearly but you can see some colors on my eye lids. I didn’t use eye primer but the cream  does last long. I’m glad I got this. Planning to wear these colors on my eyes these fall for sure.

I only used three colors out of the palette which were the second on the pallete from left to right. I didn’t use the maroon for this look. For this look, I only apply eyeliner from Prestige in granite color. The top photos were taken under the lights and the bottom look with natural light.

The cream is not tacky and it glides smoothly. It holds up quite well. All four colors are  creamy and has some shimmer and it just looked so pretty on my eyes.

What is your favorite eyeshadow brand?

Moisture Renew Lipstick by Rimmel

Two weeks ago, as I went window shopping at Wal-mart. Just checking if there were any new products for fall season. My five year old son was with me at the makeup section and he picked up this lovely color (Rosette) for me to purchase. Well, this was not the new collection from Rimmel. But then I thought, well I haven’t been buying lipsticks lately and I desperately need one. I preferred to get Revlon because I just love the creamy and matte texture. Anyways, so thought it would be a good idea to get this one. First reason, so that I will not disappoint my son and second I pretty much like the color when I made a color swatch. I believed there were like twenty different colors to choose from. So, I paid $5.47 for 0.14oz.

I got to admit that this lipstick was too creamy and it glides easily on lips. It’s smooth and nice on the lips but in my opinion the formula was too moisturizing or I would say wet.  It’s smudges and on top of that, Oh dear, it has such strong scents. I can’t tolerate the smell of the roses scents (too strong for a lipstick).

I like the color I got in Rosette but not so much on the texture.

I put on the lip liner before applying this super moisturizing lipstick. It’s super pigmented and that might be the reason why it bleeds color like crazy.

This lipstick has intensed color shade. It’s bright and had glossy finish. So, when I tried to check on the color transfer. I was suprised to see the amount of the color transferred. I refused to believe to get three times of color transfers by just applying one coat of lipstick. I rest my case.

The color wasn’t as long lasting as the Kate Moss Long-lasting lipstick by Rimmel. I’m terribly disappointed with this one. I don’t see myself wearing this lipstick again. It will be in with my other Collectible haul (products that I will not used again).

For that price at Wal-mart or any drugstores, and to pay $2 more, I will definitely go for Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks ($7.99 at Target) anytime than to go for this particular product.

Ahava Mineral Makeup Care – Light Foundation

I found this little gem not long ago while browsing through some makeup products at Winners (Canadian retail chain store). In case some of you haven’t heard of this brand name Ahava. It’s a cosmetic brand from NSW, Australia. They seems to have very interesting research and development on the minerals they found and to produce some of the most natural skin care in the market. I’m super excited to give my thoughts on this amazing foundation that I have tried and simply love it.

There were four different color shades available in their website. The shades are from light to dark. The color shade which I picked up was in Terra Dark (the darkest shade). Suprisingly, this foundation doesn’t seems too dark for my skin tone since I usually wear medium color shades. Behind the packaging, it said enriched with dead sea minerals and dunaliella (known for its antioxidant activity) seaweed. Approved for sensitive skin.

This light foundation was true to its claimed. Trully lightweight and this foundation set in very fast.  Unfortunately, like many foundations, there were always some drawbacks. I found this foundation dries up on me like powder as I was blending gently with my fingertips. It has very sheer coverage and needs build up to get a medium coverage. I must say that my skin does feel fresh and light overall. It lasted well throughout the day. For me, I felt that it has a strong scents and need getting used to it.

In my opinion, this product serves more as a BB cream than a foundation due to the texture and lack of SPF. I put the comparison between Ahava foundation with BB cream by Rimmel (in light shade).

The packaging size was like a travelling package. It’s small and convenient to bring along in my makeup bag or for going to trips. I am very happy to be able to try this product out all the way up North. I can’t wait to discover more of this makeup brand to try on.

Conclusion, I am satisfied with this little gem and I was thrilled to be able to share it with all of you.

Have you tried any of the AHAVA makeup products? If yes, which one?

Thank you for reading.

Sephora ~ Color Bronze Palette

sephora color bronze

Recently, I ordered a few items from Sephora using their online order. So, I really like to try this Color Bronze which has a bronzer, 4 colors lip gloss and 8 shades eyeshadows. It’s 3 in 1 combo packaging. I received my order quite fast. I believed in 2-3 days depending where you live and the ordering process was easy.

The size is almost like a credit card size but there were two wings on both side. The packaging is of hard plastic compact material.

Out of the eight color shades from the palette only one was matte (brown), where else the rest were with shimmers.

The top three lighter shades were very light and has little pigmentation. It was more of metalic shimmer and best to wear for evening nightout. I made a swatch color and to my disappointment, these eyeshadows have very limited lasting effect even with eye primer on. It’s powdery and color were very light.

Lip gloss swatches of the four colors in nude, pink, wine, orange-y red. Texture wise, not too bad for a lip gloss. It’s fragrant free and it glides smoothly as any lip gloss should.

I used a quite a bit on the lip gloss since it does give some nice color on my lips. It’s not sticky and paired well with a lovely lip liner if I just want to wear lip gloss for the day.

Lastly. here are the swatch I made for the bronzer which I quite like. The color is nice and it has good pigmentation.

sephora bronzer color palette

Overall, I think the name Color bronze really focuses a lot on its bronzer and not so on the eyeshadows and lip gloss. I admit that I expected more from Sephora product compared to the drugstores brand but in my opinion these eyeshadows doesn’t work for me. It might work for some and I’m sad to say that it failed my expectation.

Anyways, my question to you is:

Have you ever bought a product that fall short to your expectation? What would you do if this had happened to you?

Thanks for reading.

My French Toast & Tacos

French Toast with Blueberry
French Toast with Blueberry

Well,  have I mentioned that besides talking about makeup and beauty, I also enjoyed cooking and making flower arrangements? What is weekend for me? Eating homemade food and enjoyed a freshly brewed coffee in the morning.

So, this morning – I’ve prepared a simply dish of french toast with blueberry on the side.

Fish Taco
Chicken Taco

As for lunch, nothing fancy. I just cut strips of chicken and seasoned it with my delicious (marinated sauce) own recipe and grilled the fillet fish for 20 minutes in the oven.

So, there you have it. Just a lazy weekend dish and spending time with my family.

Hope you guys have an excellent weekend.

Would You Rather – Beauty Tag

would you rather tag

Hi guys ,today I have been tagged by nreviewsproducts to do this tag. I’m excited since this is my first time doing a blog tag. If you haven’t follow her please check on her blog and do a follow.

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
I would rather lose all of my palettes and eyeshadows than losing mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks and lip glosses. I might have lost two but still have four.

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I would rather never be able to cut it again. My hair shape how I looked. So, having long hair will allow me to style my hair differently everytime it grew long. He!He!

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Coral cheek because that’s what my warm undertone desires.

4.) If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Hmmm… my answer will definately rather spend on makeup especially the high-end products since I have obsession with makeup.

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Lipstick as eyeliner. I prefer to put what’s made for the lips to the lips and I think it would be rather cool to have orange color matte lipstick as eyeliner. The Cleopatra eyeliner.

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
Sephora. I can go to the store or order online. It’s convenient.

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
One eye shadow color since I don’t wear eyeshadow as much.

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
I would rather wear summer clothes in winter of course. I can always layer up when it gets too cold.

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright nails all year round. I prefer bright nails in order to look for natural.

10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
I would rather trade lipstick with eye product.

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Messy bun. Must be working hard and neglect my hair. Oh dear!

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
I love to paint my nails sometimes so I have to let lip gloss go. I have lipstick as my company.

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
Yikes, to have no eyebrows at all. No, thank you. I need Sharpie my only choice to avoid having bare eyebrows.

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Aaarrggg …. without nail polish. That’s pretty easy.

Oh wow, that’s a fun tag to do and I tag anyone reading this post to do it. You can link it back to me so that I can rad your answers too. Hope you have fun reading.

Thank you for taking the time to read.
