Naked Smoky Palette That You’ll Love

How’re you guys doing? Not too bad I hope!

But here’s what I think, when life gets busy, it’s easy for a makeup routine to become, well, routine. Agreed! Thankfully, I got some mini haul products I ordered from Sephora recently that I’m excited to share here with all of you.

We fall back on our tried and true methods and take the easy route just make it out the door on time! Truth been said, let’s jump in to Urban Decay Smoky to proof my point or maybe not. Continue reading till the end to find out.

I was given this as a gift. I can’t say enough good things about this eye shadow. I am an eyeshadow lover and this is the best yet. Some of you might know me long enough to know that I’m addicted to all the Naked Palettes by Urban Decay. Not ashamed to admit it (whahaha!)

I was very excited to try this bad boy. Tell you this, “I’m in love with smoky palette now”.

The first thing when I opened the box packaging is the clear casing which has a floating smoky effect with“Naked Smoky” engraved in gunmetal foil. It’s sturdy, streamlined, and doesn’t feel like it’s too bulky if you know what I mean.

Love the packaging and it comes with a full size mirror. A magnetic closure on the clear case, a double ended brush with twelve great color eyeshadows. Nine are new colors whereas the other three are repeats. I really like that it has a good mixture of natural and varieties of shades in this palette.

Included in this palette, there are instructions of 4 different smoky eyes tutorial tips. The instructions are very easy to follow. Distinctive smoky eyes from daytime smoky all the way to nigh-time smoky look.

It’s super easy to put on and it actually stays on all day. The quality is awesome and the outcome is amazing. I think you’re going to love it as much as I do.

Eyeshadows: From most shimmery left to less shimmery on the right

Bleeding DANGEROUS Love by Ed Hardy

I got my hands on this Ed Hardy Cosmetic Palette a few days ago and I LOVE it! I had to get this one first because of the Dangerous Love theme and it’s in pretty color. To tell you the truth, I haven’t been disappointed because I was in love with the look and design, and mostly the color selection itself looks wearable for day and night. Yes, I know it’s a disease but I like to collect beautiful things, sue me. lol!

The cosmetic palette is available in only one style for CAD$14.99 for eye, face and lips. You can count on Ed Hardy kit to go travelling or motorbiking if you’re in warmer area, for example Florida .

This set contains:

– 8 x 0.12 oz Eyeshadows
– 4 x 0.07 oz Lip Gloss
– 2 x  oz Blush
– 3 ml Lip Gloss Wand

Application brushes:

  • dual ended sponge
  • lip brush
  • blush brush

Underneath this palette kit, you’ll find four pretty color lip colors, a lip brush applicator and a tube of glitter lip gloss. I’m a lipstick enthusiast but as for lip gloss is concern I usually wear it to shadowing the latter.

sharon beauty prime

Each of them are very pretty. But if you don’t like shimmery eyeshadow, then you’re not going to like this kit.  Majority of the products here are shimmery. The eyeshadow is averagely pigmented with decent color payoff. It’s not that bad, but you might need to use a primer for long lasting wear.

To be honest, I picked up this kit seeing all the shades in this palette seems to be calling my name. I caved in and brought it home. I find the shades to be pretty on swatch actually.

Here is the  color swatches on bare arm, without eye primer. It has very nice color selection with mid-toned shade. These eyeshadows are shimmery and  with satin finish. Another downside I noticed was, its colors don’t really have names.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Left: Coral cheek and rose pink blush on the right are both my favorite color blush. I wish they made it creamier and soften.

It’s dense packed with products but nevertheless it feels smooth with a pretty good pigmentation. I like that it allows room to built up to the desire intensity and it blends nicely too.

lip gloss

Creamy lip glosses anyone! Here are four different color from plum to mauve, peach orange to rose pink for your every look. I’m not a huge fan of lip gloss but I don’t mind wearing it when I just want to look natural or the no makeup look, you know what I mean!

Formula wise, it feels nice on lips. Not too tacky or gunky which I absolutely detest in a lip gloss. I also noticed that it doesn’t have any smell which is good sign for me. The loudest shade you can see from the swatch are the peachy orange and plum.

Too Cute ^;^ packaging! Travel friendly if you asked me.

Dangerous Love Glitter Lip Gloss

IMO, this might be overkilled at least on me, whahaha! Yet another lip gloss in a tube. Oh gosh! I really can’t do much with this lip gloss and it’s going to be in my Junk It box unless someone wants it.

A standard duo foot applicator. Glittery lip gloss which I find it to be too thick to be desired. It’s give a glittery and gloss finish on lips no doubt. I want to like it but it’s a miss for me.

Overall, this is a decent Ed Hardy Kit perfect for travelling and for younger girls who just started makeup. I’m not overly crazy with this purchase but I’m glad I did. It gives me the opportunity to try and test out products for friends and readers my two cents opinion hoping to help you on decision making.

What do you think? Have you tried any Ed Hardy cosmetics?! How did you like it? Leave your comment on the comment section. I love to hear from you.

Alrighty, so that’s pretty much it for today’s post! Hope to see on the next one.

Thank you.

Sugar Box Review, Photos & Swatch

This is my first SUGAR BOX Eyeshadow Palette (US$7.99)from ebay, and I’ll admit I was a bit skeptic at first. But there was a week when I found myself always reaching out for this palette when I’m doing my makeup. I got this for the holiday and I’m totally in love with this palette.

Let’s jump right in, shall we!

Sugar Box Natural Eye Makeup

The eyeshadow palette I got is in Natural Eye Makeup #03. Here’s a summary of this product:

  • Contain 10 pretty color shadows for different neutral look
  • In this palette there are four matte and six shimmering jewel finish shadows
  • Packed with nice versatile shade selection.
  • These are warm undertones shades that looks pretty amazing on the palette
  • Nicely pigmented color with smooth & silk texture ❤
  • Love the packaging

  • Would be great if they name their palettes instead of by # numbers. Less confusing
  • Some shadows I noticed to be a bit tardy on fall out

Let me elaborate more of this product.

Eyeshadow placement from left to right: the first six shadows are shimmery while the last four are matte finish.

I was so excited! I did the color swatch upon opening the package. Here’s the color swatch on bare arm (meaning with eye primer or base). Guys, what you see is what you get. These shadows stay true to its colors.

Beautiful color selection by Sugar Box

As far as the packaging goes, the size of the palette is small and sleek enough for travel and has a good size mirror with a decent duo eyeshadow brush which you could actually use if you want to.

The pigmentation on these eyeshadows are quite impressive for the price. They’re not the best but it does give you a good color payoff with a good primer or base on. I also noticed that they’re long wearing and doesn’t budge.

Color swatch on bare arm

The matte formula are unbelievably buttery and smooth. For the price, I consider this eyeshadow palette to be a pretty good buy. It has what you need and it does the job right. I will repurchase this again. I’m in love with the smooth texture and the neutral shades are just amazing.

Overall Rating: 4 out 5

What do you think of this palette? Have you heard of this brand before. Leave your comments below.

Thank you very much for stopping by and read.

Ipsy Glam Bag Review – Shadow Crayon

Hey gorgeous! How is it going? Today, I’ll be just talking about this Shadow Crayon by TreStique. I got this cute mini product in my Ipsy June Glam Bag and if you like to read my unbagging, simply click here.

To be honest, I haven’t heard of this brand before and there were some interesting cosmetic brands with amazing quality out there and until today I’m hooked to my Ipsy monthly beauty bag. I find that it’s cool to be opened for an opportunity to try new products from different brands which you might not be able to find depending on where you live. Right! So, cool concept! Thumbs up Ipsy! For beginners or newcomers to my blog, if you want to learn more about their beauty subscription, I’ll put a link below.

Okay, enough of my rambling, let’s get started :-

shadow crayon

If you have heard of TreStique, please leave your comment below! Sorry, I sort of jump before the cart, but that’s how excited I am about this brand.

I got mine in Venetian Gold net wt: 0.02 oz and there must be like six other pretty shades. Online $26.00 for regular size shadow pencil that comes with a shadow smudger. As a sample from Ipsy, we got the top portion of this bad boy. Here is the picture from TreStique website to share how the actual shadow crayon is.

photo from TreStique
photo from TreStique

This is a rounded smudger made of synthetic rubber and it’s replaceable as needed according to their website for $5.

eye makeup look trestique

On first swatch I was blown away by the formula. It’s super smooth and highly pigmented that I just wished that you can do the color swatch here with me. It’s super blendable and the creamy texture is just freaking amazing. It glides like a dream and with no fall out fuss at all. You can wear it alone as a shadow but I prefer to wear it as a base shadow and finish it by applying them on the center of my eye lids to make it look more pop. For this look, I’m wearing the eyeshadow from The Blushed Nudes palette. I really love this shade combined with my bronzy eye look that I wore yesterday. It lasted for a good 3-4 hours but not 12 hours as claimed on their website.

In my opinion, this is an incredible concept of a shadow crayon and I love the formula and pigmentation but the downside is the price which I find them to be on a steep side.

I think this is a good product but considering the high price, I honestly don’t see myself repurchasing it.

Lastly, here is the link to ipsy if you’re interested to join for $10/month subscription.

Anyways, hope you like and enjoy this review and click like and comment below.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read.

Joe Fresh Eye And Lip Palette |Review

Hi lovelies, how did your weekend go? I had one of most relaxing days for I don’t know how long. I got to take my long afternoon nap. Woke up and I decided to stay in, as the weather wasn’t great. Sunday was sunny and very warm, went to my fridge and dig out Chapman ice cream in vanilla. Ahhh!joe fresh eyeshadow

Since 1st of July was Canada Day just like past a few weeks ago, I plan to feature Canadian brands on the blog for the week or maybe the whole month. I haven’t decided yet but you have been seeing lots of Joe Fresh brands in my blog, aren’t you? Not to lie, the second reason is because I got some Joe Fresh items for a very good deal.

Up first is Joe Fresh, a brand that probably doesn’t need any further intro of. Their makeup line is awesome, great price point, but I love their eyeshadow more. If you read my blog, you know I’m super obsessed with eyeshadow and its palettes and this one is no different. I love how cute the packaging is and the amazing quality of this eyeshadow is just incredible. So loving it!

The shade I got is in Bronze Age and it comes with three shadows – matte, metallic and satin. Also included is a Sheer Lip Balm and a decent brush applicator that you can actually use 😛 Yay for that!

eye and lip palette

From L-R: The Champagne is the highlighter, the Metallic Brown and Dark Brown.

color swatch joe fresh

They’re very pigmented and creamy smooth. I’m able to work on these shadows easily and it blends super well. I love neutral nude eye makeup look for day wear and this palette is just perfect for the occasion.

eye maeup look joe fresh neutral

You probably heard me mentioned a few times that I sometimes went for more dramatic colours for different day wear (darker shades or shimmer). But in any cases, where I need a colour that is strictly for everyday appropriate, Bronze Age would be a good candidate.

finish look

I just love these shades and the formula is gorgeous. It’s long wearing and I just can’t get enough of this palette.

lip balm joe fresh

Next is this Sheer Lip Balm that comes with this eyeshadow palette. It’s sheer and moist but not sticky at all. I’m not sure if they sell this lip balm separately but I’m pretty sure the lipsticks are.

color swatch joe fresh

I like the formula of this lip balm which is soft and smooth which makes it easy to glide. I don’t see any color except that it’s moist on my lips.

joe fresh lip balm

I really have to go back to Loblaws or Maxi to grab a few other colors available. After all, I’m doing a Canada brand theme this month and might as well go all the way. So, yay for Canada!

For my US friends you can find Joe Fresh brand online at JC penny and stores location in New York.

This is like my longest post ever. Than you so much for taking the time to read.

That’s it for now and I hope you enjoy reading and find this post interesting. Until next time, have a great week 😀

Joe Fresh Duo Concealer in Dark – REVIEW

sharon beauty prime

Today, I’m going to talk about this Duo Concealer by Joe Fresh. I did a beauty haul last week and the link is here if you want to go back to read it. Anyways, onto the review!

This side is the stick while the other side is a cream with a doe applicator. Neat packaging isn’t it!

The shade I got is in Dark and I’m glad that it matches my skin tone nicely since from the packaging the formula doesn’t look Dark at all. I’m a medium skin-tone in the summer and I have to say that this Dark shade doesn’t bother me at all. This shade fits me perfectly. Having said that, I recommend that you choose the shade one notch down from your usual shade might help.

The stick side is usable for acne scarring on forehead or on the redness around the nose  area but since I don’t have much issue recently with my skin tone, so I’ll be trying out on under my dark circle areas only for this review.

Love the cream side. It’s semi thick, it has amazing coverage and matches my skin tone precisely, the stick part is a little thick but work amazingly and it’s perfect for covering up blemishes. All I did was pat the formula with my fingers and they blend it effortlessly. Love this!

Here is the color swatch of the cream/liquid and stick concealer. In my opinion, both works amazingly and I’m happy with my purchase since I picked the right shade. So, yay! Overall, it’s a good buy with good quality and I really like this concealer.

Both the formula runs smoothly and it blend very well especially under the dark circle areas. The texture feels smooth and lightweight.

The only downside of this concealer is limited color choices. It has only 3 shades from Light, Medium to Dark in this selection. Kind of sad in the color selection… but overall a pretty good duo concealer. So, please Joe release more shades!!

It’s a pretty good concealer and works very well I would recommend this product for sure.

What do you think of this 2 in 1 Concealer? Would you try them out? Please leave your comment in the section below. I love to hear your comments.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by.

Madness Wednesday|Quo Colour-Rush Eyeshadow

Welcome beauties to my 2nd instalment of Madness Wednesday where I share my finds on beauty items which are a great steals or good deals. So, last weekend I was out early for my weekly hunt at the drugstore. With the Madness Wednesday on full swing, I’ve been doing some leg work sighting and shopping for great steals to share them with all of you. But then I fell ill for a couple of days and now I’m back in full force. Sorry, I’ve gone tangent but anyways, where was I – oh yes, my madness beauty hunt ends after I stumbled upon this Color-Rush Eyeshadow by Quo in one of the liquidation baskets. Yay!

I’m excited to share my thoughts and opinion on this mineral powder eyeshadow and to be honest I was sold because of this cute little jar packaging. I’m a sucker for cute and strange looking makeup packaging. Anyways, this Eyeshadow packaging looks a bit high-end in my opinion so I caved in. This is my first time trying a beauty product from Quo and two things can happen here, it can be a pleasant surprise or an epic fall but either way, for only $2.00 a jar I don’t mind giving this a shot.

quo eyeshadow

Keep reading for the full review.

As some of you may know Quo is an exclusive line to Canadian Shoppers Drug Mart and it’s a drugstore brand that has been around for several years.

Okay, I excited to get started. So, let’s jump in right away :-

I got this Quo Colour Rush Eyeshadow in the shade Saddle with a net wt : 3g. Can you believe it if I tell you that I just paid $2.00 for this. That’s right $2!

quo color swatch

Let’s roll to the review part! This is a gorgeous sparkly and glittery eyeshadow I’ve ever seen. It’s a Taupe color which looks bronzy to me but extremely glittery. Okay, let’s get real, this is a loose powder shadow that’s incredibly pigmented and the powder or dust doesn’t fly everywhere like other brands sometimes do. The packaging is cute with a soft netting inside.

From picture you’ll see as if it’s wet but nope, feels very dry but holly molly … you got to try this. The texture is so soft and smooth. It’s so easy to blend and I just love how it say put on my eyes. The swatch is done on bare hand – meaning no primer whatsoever. I usually do swatches on my bare hand. So, basically what you see is what you’ll get.

Here is a winner. To answer to the question I posed on top of this review, I definitely will say it’s a pleasant surprise rather than an epic fall.

The next time, you stumble on a liquidation sale of Quo colour rush like this one, grab it. For only $2.00, that’s quite a steal.

What do you think of the Quo Colour Rush Eyeshadow? Will you be picking anything up? Be sure to let me know in the comment section below.

Thank you so much for reading.

Top 5 Old Time Makeup Favorites|REVIEW

Hey friends!

I got this top 5 old favorites pick that I wanted to share with all of you today. I have used these products for a while but then I keep on going back whenever I have the chance. So, let’s see what I got here. They’re all in random order and not in any particular preference.

thebodyshop pressed powder

Sothys Golden Veil/Estée Lauder Compact Disc Eyeshadow Palette/The Body Shop Pressed Powder 02/Clinique Lipstick in Va Va Violet/The Body Shop Lipstick in Nude

I’ll start with my old time favorite the Body Shop Pressed Face Powder 02. This is a lovely shade which I really adore. It’s richly pigmented and the texture is ultra fine and smooth. It helps keep shine at bay and it’ll be awesome for normal to oily skin type. I usually wear this pressed powder on its own without foundation since this is a cruelty free makeup product by Body Shop.

sothys review

Sothys Golden Veil Enlightening Effect with net wt: 1 fl oz is a beautiful liquid-y formula that is great for smoothing and lightening effect that similar to that of the rays of sunshine without subjecting the skin to those of damaging rays. I usually apply them on my neckline and shoulders for a more tanning tone on my skin. I have a few of Sothys’ products and this is one of them. Unfortunately, this Golden Veil Enlightening has been discontinued but I still wanted to share this brand with you guys because it’s one of my favorite products to wear.

lipsticks reviews

I love Clinique’s lip products and I believe I talked about the other lipstick awhile ago. Just look how gorgeous and sexy this burgundy red lipstick is! So moist and opaque. Amazing pigment formula and stunning shade. I love it…. totally in love with this Clinique’s lipstick for sure. You know how much I love red lipstick and more if they’re matte. I wore this when I did my ombré lips tutorial previously. It’s a bold color, one to wear when you want attention 🙂 Oh yeah!

The extreme opposite of red bold lips is this neutral nude lipstick by the Body Shop. While red is mostly worn for the holidays and New Year and as we step into Spring – nude is calling me! From runway fashion to fashion magazine, neutral nude is in. Having said that, I have this lipstick for the longest time and sadly I don’t remember how much I paid for it but the Body Shop might still have them except with different packaging. The packaging is nothing to shout about but the texture is beautiful.

I love that I don’t have to do intensive prep work to wear nude lipstick. No lip scrubs or lip balm needed. The formula is smooth and it glides incredibly well.

estee lauder eyeshadow paletteI’m not sure if you have seen this Compact Disc Eyeshadow (net wt: 0.11 oz) packaging before by Estée Lauder but this are the most smoothest and soft shadows I’ve ever tried. The shades in this palette are Ivory, Brown, Pink and Violet. The texture feels so soft and creamy and not chalky at all. I noticed that this eyeshadow is lightweight with very sheer finish.  It applies easily with an satisfying pigmentation and it’s very buildable.

The next time you have the pangs of neutral hunger (it happens), satisfy your urge by visiting your nearest Estée Lauder counter or or at ebay.

What is your old time makeup favorites? I love to hear your comments.

Thank you very much for reading.

L’oreal Mineral Powder|Review|Swatches

I have been doing a few back to back reviews this past few days and believe it or not, I’m really enjoying sharing my thoughts and opinion with you guys. As you can see, there are some products that I like more than the others while there are some which just didn’t work on me.

Let’s take this L’oreal True Match Mineral Powder for instant. The Mineral Powder compact comes in a built-in mirror that’s handy for an on-the-go application. I find this mineral powder packaging to be simple and nice.

loreal powder review

The shade I pick is in Sand Beige W4-5 with net wt: 0.31 oz. Behind this packaging L’oreal claims it can hold up to 16 hours of fresh, true color without oil breakthrough which blew my mind.

Obviously, I got to pick this babe and try it out myself. I tried applying them on and I’m glad to say that it did a good job on concealing the redness around my nose and it leaves a soft mattifying finish. I don’t see any shine on. I’m more of a dry skin type and when on me, I don’t feel that it’s cakey and was able to build-up beautifully. The formula is very lightweight and the silky texture works best for touch-ups and as setting foundation. Since it’s not cakey, you’ll get a sheer coverage that is buildable.

This mineral powder works pretty well on natural lighting and to put it to the test, I took a photography test and it turns out good. And after a few hours wearing I still can’t see any shine on it. Overall, this mineral powder is oil-free, fragrance free and it doesn’t break out on me.

The absorbent formula helps control oily shine which is good news for many. I have to say that it is an excellent powder for normal to oily skin type. But as for the 16 hours claim, I don’t see the staying power to last that long since on me it lasted only for about 2-3 hours. I have to retouch-up after the 3rd hour.

There are eight shades available which are from fair to medium tone and you can easily find at any Walmart. You can also find this product at your local drugstore, Ulta, Boots, Amazon and L’oreal online. For the price of $12.88 for a drugstore brand, in my opinion I find it to be averagely priced consider the quality you get from L’oreal Paris 😀

hard candy review

Hard Candy Face Primer is fragrant free and I have a lot of fun playing with it. First of all, this primer like any other primers share the same texture of being smooth, featherly light and he formula absorb quickly into skin. It claims to minimizes skin imperfection and leaving skin velvety smooth.

I’ve tried it for a few days under my foundation, I don’t see any different when using this primer to be honest. Conclusion is I’m not too crazy with this face primer and no hate either. So, this face primer is just a miss for me. But to be fair, having said that I still think that it’s a decent primer given the cheap price in store. I guess I’ll leave it all to your  own.

What do you think of this review? Do you find them helpful?

Thanks for taking the time to read.
