Beauty Blogger Tag!

Hey everybody! Today I’m bringing you something different. Something I haven’t done for like ages. A TAG! I love tags as it’s a way to know more about the person. In this post I compiled questions from different beauty tags to create something of my own and I hope through this you guys would have the chance to get to know little more about me.

  1. What is your current favourite perfume? I’ve been obsessed with Gucci Guilty and Lancome La Vie et Belle eau de toilette of late. I like to wear my perfume according to my mood and events
  2. What is your favorite social media platform? I really enjoy posting Instagram photos and I did it on a daily basis. I love reading feedbacks from you guys. I find satisfaction from posting beautiful photos of my work. It makes me really really happy! instagram post
  3. What’s your advice to a beauty blogger who’s just starting out? Don’t force it! Be your true self and work on your passion. Always remind yourself why you started in the first place and set your goals. Make sure your blog is consistent and remember that content is KING!  beauty-bloggers
  4. How often do you wear makeup? I wear full face makeup pretty often, for meetings or events. But I like to go for natural a look as well.
  5. What is your favourite part of doing your makeup? My favorite part is playing with my eye makeup. I enjoy seeing the before and after result. It’s like seeing the transformation happening before my own eyes. best-beauty-bloggers-australia
  6. Matte or glossy lips? MATTE…MATTE
  7. What do you do first? Face or Eyes? Face. I’ve tried doing the eyes first but I still like doing face first for some reason.skincare
  8. How important is skincare to you? Skincare is very important as I grow older. I used to underestimate the benefits of taking care of skin until I started blogging. I’m very lucky to receive awesome products from amazing brands. Therefore these gives me the inspiration to start a better skincare regime for myself.
  9. What is a makeup trend that you don’t like? Using stick on pearls as an ornamentation on the cheeks and eyes. I don’t see I can pull this one out.
  10. What is your favourite makeup product at the minute? I’ve been reaching for the Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Lipstick. I love the rich and warm rusty nude shade followed by an amazing staying power.cosmetics
  11. How often do you buy new makeup products to try? Every chance I get. Or whenever my budget permits.
  12. What is your favourite skin care product? I’m an avid fan of Aveeno when it comes to drugtore brand and I love Lancome for a ore expensive range
  13. What is one tip you would give anyone just starting out using makeup? Try it at home by starting with a little lip gloss, some mascara and apply light blush. You might want to get your makeup from the drugstores before splurging into the high-end territory (in case you decided later that makeup is not for you).
  14. What products are you most excited about this fall? I can’t wait to get my hot paws on the Advent Calendars at Sephora and the Charlotte Thilbury Instant Eye Palette.
  15. What product or brand do you think is hyped? I know I probably get a lot of hate from Rihanna’s fans but I personally think that the latest launch of the FeNty Beauty brand is overly hyped for some reason

Question Tuesday – A Funny Take on Valentine’s Day

Hey guys! What’s up bloggers! Yes, it’s February 14th and needless to say today is Valentine’s Day.

Love is in the air! The one thing I love about Valentine’s Day is that it’s not only a day to celebrate your love with your significant other, children, and family but also to yourself.

Q: So, what’s your plans to celebrate this special day?

A:  I’m going to stay away from restaurant (not because it $100 and it includes a rose and a complimentary Champagne toast!) but because I feel ain’t right to seeing table after table filled by other struggling couples who haven’t been out for a nice meal since the last Valentine’s Day.

Q: What’s your advice for single people on Valentine’s Day?

A: It’s been said that no one will ever love you until you learn to truly love yourself. And the best way to learn something is to teach it, so get out there and teach someone to love you! Then you will love yourself and they will love you, too, because you love yourself now that you’ve taught them to love you. Make sense?

Q: What’s the fun thing you do with your Valentine? And/or how will you celebrate Valentine’s day? Comment below if you’re alone or attached.

So, hun could we just stay home and get drunk!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Sharon xoxo

Christmas Red Eyeshadow Makeup Look

Hey friends!

Well, since the holiday season is just around the corner, I thought of experimenting some of the festive mood eye makeup looks which I’m sure many will love. Here is the first eye look which I came up with.

nyx eyeshadow

What do I need for this makeup look? Well, an eyeshadow from NYX, a pencil eyeliner or liquid or gel according to your preference and an eyeshadow brush.

makeup products for eyelook

NYX eyeshadow single in ES54 in Cherry.

Annabelle kohl eyeliner in Dark Grey.

red eyeshadow look

Okay, I did my eye primer and eye concealer before dapping eyeshadows on my lids. I started off by applying my eyeliner on the upper lid and followed by the bottom. Once it’s properly done I continued applying the NYX eyeshadow in red. It has some soft shimmery finish. The texture is soft and able to let me layered up a few notch to my liking.

eyeshadow look

I did my red eyeshadow on the lids, crease and under the lids. This look is a red eyeshadow look that I love to do.

red eyelook

Finishing touch by blending in with a highlighter and then curled up my lashes with a clear mascara and voila! A nice Christmas eye makeup look which I recommend you to try.

Would you wear a red burgundy eyeshadow? Leave comment below. I love to hear from you.

Thank you very much for reading.

Dream Matte Mousse Foundation by Maybelline

DSC01061Maybelline Dream color swatch

A months ago at Walmart, I picked up this Matte Mousse foundation by Maybelline in Honey Beige (Medium 4). Net wt: 0.64 oz.

I tried this on and totally liked it. It felt feathery light and blends impeccably and it has a smooth whipped texture. It’s like not wearing any foundation at all. This mousse foundation is very soothing and it sets incredibly well. I blend it with my fingers instead of brush and gently work it over my face. I have been wearing this for a month and I loved it.

before foundation

It is recommended to always prepped the base before putting any foundation on. For those who has oily skin, you may skipped this step.

Coverage can go from sheer to medium and this foundation allows for built-up by layering to full coverage without looking cake-y or heavy finish. It makes skin feels wonderfully smooth and soft.

after makeup with foundation

I got many compliments for my smooth skin wearing this foundation. My face does looked more youthful and most importantly looking fresh.

Walmart has a wide range of skin shades to pick from. Sixteen of them to be precised. Of the shades available, there were options for light or dark tone. Available shades from Porcelain Ivory #1 (Light) to Toffee Dark 0 (Dark). That’s a lot of choices.

Always, make sure to get the right color shades according to each person undertone. I’m glad I found my undertone and 89% of the time I’m accurate in getting the right color shade for my skin tone. Porcelain Ivory is a good shade for fair skin tone while cocoa is a deep brown for medium dark skin tone.

Maybelline NY. you did it again, to come up with this amazing product. I just loved it. I feel fresh and great every time I wear it.

Product is reasonably priced for a drugstore brand. Packaging is adorable in a glass jar. The drawback is that the lid has to be properly closed to avoid drying up.

Which is your favorite foundation by far?

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Have a great day!

xoxo

I dream of St Lucia! NYX Caribbean Collection ~Review

It’s Saturday morning and it’s raining outside. I wanted to share this post with you. Yesterday, as I stepped out from my house, there were autumn leaves everywhere on the ground. The color of golden and amber leaves baking under the soft bright sun. I felt inspired to do a review on this lovely “I dream of St Lucia” eyeshadow palette by NYX. I saw three colors of fall from this palette and I quicky started to use them for my autumn makeup look. I posted my beauty haul yesterday and feel free to check it out.

NYX brand is available at Target and also at some local Canadian drugstores. I picked up mine at a drugstore.

“I Dream of St Lucia” 5 color eyeshadow palette

These are the color swatch from the palette. Such gorgeous pigmented eyeshadows. I really love the orange one best out of the other 4. So, that is why I’m doing the amber eye look. The formula is soft and smooth and it blends so well. I noticed that the pink and yellow ones need more blending since the shades are a little bit lighter. Otherwise, the colors are all gorgeous and wearable.

 NYX orange shadowNYX Caribbean look

For this amber eyemakeup look, I just apply the eye primer and then I go ahead to blend the orange color shadow and the yellow as highlighter. I love the consistency of these shadows.

I used the Prestige eyeliner in Granite color to outline just top of my lids. I also dap a bit of the yellow eyeshadow to the  centre of my eye lids (shown on the left) to make my eyes look more popped.

I’m impressed that for such an easy and simple steps, this color palette can gives such beautiful and vibrant color to the eyes. I will be playing more with these amazing colors since all 5 colors seems to work well together.

NYX eye makeup look

I have several eyeshadow palettes and this is one of my go-to palette of all time.  The value can’t be beat. Well, the packaging is simple and  it’s hand travel friendly. I’m very happy with my purchased and I will definitely go to pick up one more as backups. I do want to try the “I Dream of St Marteen” in a more neutral shades for everyday look.

Beauty Haul! Target mini beauty makeup haul

Target mini makeup haul

It’s that time, my beauty mini makeup haul has landed. Yes!!! I went shopping again at Target and got some beauty bits that I really want to try. I’m thrilled to share some of  my haul today with you.

So here is the little haul of what I’ve purchased!

I have wanted to try the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral palette for a while and so I decided that it’s time for me to get it. It’s a little bit expensive for a small palette eyeshadow but I’m all in for this one. I picked up this gorgeous color Copper Peach palette in 0.20 oz and I know that I’m pretty sure going to have lots of fun playing with these colors.

pixi eyeshadow palette

I really want to talk more on each of the makeup that I just picked up. So, I will start off with this Pixi palette. So, many fun colors to play with, I’ll be busy for weeks. I would definitely give my thoughts and opinion once I have tried them including swatches etc in my next blog.

nyc new trio eyeshadow

Next up is the NYC New Trio Eyeshadow in 789 on West Vintage. Trying new colors are one of my favorite things to explore. So, I like this West vintage eyeshadow and absolutely doesn’t mind giving it a try. I got mine for less than $3.00 for 0.15oz depending on where you live. Pretty intense color palette and it came with a duo-end tiny little brush. Will have my review up soon.

Maybelline Fit Me foundation 315maybelline fit me foundation swatch

Next in line is the Maybelline Fit Me Octinoxate lotion with SPF18 . I got hold of this one in 315 on Soft Honey (1 fl oz) which was on special for $6.99. I made a color swatch and the color tone seems to pretty much complement my skin tone. Behind the bottle it does mentioned matches natural tones, blends seamlessly and let skin breathe. I’m not here to do a full blown review, don’t panic. Ha!Ha!

covergirl pressed powderNYC mascara show time

Finally, I also like to share with you this Cover Girl Pressed Powder in  715 on translucent medium. Compact powder is 0.32 oz for $6.99 (regular price $8.99) at Target. In the next few days, I will be using these pressed powder with my foundation and will share my experience with you as we go along.

Last item in my haul will be the NYC Show Time Mascara in 844 on Extreme Black. This mascara has shorter brush and it’s waterproof. Yeah!!!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. I’m off to prepare some yummy lunch.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!

Are there any new products you have tried recently?

Check back soon for reviews on some of the products in this blog! 🙂

Stay Beautiful!

Maybelline NY Color Tattoo cream gel shadow ~ Painted Purple (No.20)

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 hr

Purple eyeshadow? Anyone? Well, I always ended up choosing purple color eyeshadows everytime I shop. Purple seems to attract my attention more somehow. So, I got drawn to get this painted purple in No. 20. I must have this lovely vibrant cream gel shadow to my collections.  Color choice is a little bit limited. There were only 6 color shades to choose from.

What so special about this Color Tattoo is that it claimed to last for 24 hours. I wore it just by itself for 8 hours and it does live to its claim to be long lasting. It is not recommended to wear any eye makeup or cosmetic to sleep – in my opinion. So, the 24 hours long lasting claim is a bit of a stretch. I have to use more eye remover to clean them.

I like the creamy and smooth texture of this product. It blends so easily and without creasing and the best thing is that I can use my fingertips for even blending. The price is  very affordable for the value of this product. The packaging makes it looks trendy and pretty.

So, for those who feels the need to wear something for a long lasting period of time, then I would recommend it simply because it lasts.

Has anyone of you have a favorite color eyeshadow that caught your very eyes everytime you shop for makeup?

Cheers!
