What I Got For Christmas 2017!

Happy New Year 2018 everyone!

Welcome to my first blog of 2018! I hope you had the most amazing break. It took me longer that I anticipated to kick start my blog after a long holiday. I called it recharging!

So, in today’s post I’m just going to show you what I got for Christmas. It’s just a bit of fun and I love to hear what other people get as well.

Yves Rocher Hand Cream

Well, I’m going to start with some hand creams I got. These are all things I got from my loved ones on Christmas. They’re pretty random stuff and that’s what I like about them.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

A holiday edition Yves Rocher Hand Creams in four scents. If you haven’t heard about Yves Rocher, it’s a #1 Beauty Care brand in France. And in this gift set you get a Coconut, Mango Coriander, Bourbon Vanilla and Olive Petitgrain. They all smells amazing but the Olive Petitgrain is definitely my top favorite. It smells so good and so relaxing. I really like the floral scent!

The fragrances are pretty strong in a good way and they linger on for hours.

It feels like it definitely does what it says on the packaging – my hands feel hydrated, smooth, nourished and ready for the long cold weather. On top of that, it’s also paraben-free and they’re not tested on animals. What are you waiting for, dive into botanical sensoriality product line right now!

Tile Mate

Moving on to the next thing I got under the Christmas tree is this Tile Mate Key Finder by Infineon. You can get yours online at Amazon for only C$29.99 a pack.

Tile key finder

It’s smalll and thin which makes it easy to loop it on anything you don’t want to lose for example your phone, backpack, keys and so on. This is game changer, I used to be forgetful when it comes to where I leave my car keys, but everything changed after I installed this. So easy to use!

Tile Mate Infineon

It’s so easy to install. Use your smartphone to make your Tile Mate ring when it’s nearby but out of sight.

A smart device that allows you to find things at your finger tips. Don’t fall behind the bandwagon, join the largets lost and found network right now with Tile!

Everyone in my family knows I couldn’t go on my day without coffee in the morning. So what better gift to receive than a coffee mug that show the coffee production, right! I know it’s going to be my most favorite mug since my little boy chose it while they went shopping at Stokes. Thank you for this thoughtful gift. I love it!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Next thing I got is a Marseilles French Press by Stokes. The original price is C$14.99 but it’s on discount now for only $7.98 that’s close to 50% off. The description on their website says it’s crafted using plastic and borosilicate glass, this press will keep your freshly brewed coffee at its ideal serving temperature.

I haven’t got the chance to try this product yet but today feels like a good day to make my own freshly pressed coffee. I love the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning and I also like the sound of no one talking to me while I drink it!

You also GET 10% OFF YOUR FIRST ORDER when you sign up to receive their newsletter.

ASUS SONIC MASTER

I save the best for the last and it’s the ASUS SonicMaster a gift I received from my hubby. Honestly, I don’t care much about notebook or laptop as long as it has a soft and comfortable keyboard to type on. I also like if the laptop is lightweight and easy to bring around not mention a nice and sharp widescreen LED with good sound effect.

My fingers are twitching to type on these keyboard after my hubby helps me installed all the programs and apps that I need for blogging.

As always thanks so much for stopping by and read. Hope you find this post interesting and helpful.

What’s the most random thing you got last Christmas? Share it in the comment below.

Question Tuesday: What’s Your Favorite Part of Blogging

Hey guys! Welcome to my blog! This week’s Question Tuesday is exactly what the title of this post is.

Well, I find my two favorite parts of blogging to be content production and community interaction.  I love putting together a post I know everyone will love and then hearing and discussing about it on my blog.

Now, you’re turn! As a blogger, what’s your favorite part of blogging? Or perhaps, what’s your least favorite part? How do you get your effort balance in blogging?

Thank you so much for visiting. I hope to see you again on the next one. Bye for now!

Beauty Favorite – Flower Beauty NOTD

Hey guys! Ready for a Flower Nail Lacquer? I sure am.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Seriously, I know that I haven’t done a nail post in awhile and I’ve no idea why! At least now’m starting to catch up on them. Do you remember the post I shared on my Tester Wednesday a while ago? I explained how I stocked up with Flower Beauty products before they took them out the shelves at all Walmart Canada. Well, let’s just say not only did I stocked up their lipsticks, I grabbed quite a bit of their left-over clearance inventories.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I shared photos of some nail color swatches on my Instagram if you care to check it out. I wore this shade before and I’m ready today to give my two cents opinion. I’m just going to jump right in with the review.

The packaging is really cute. Right from the bottle shape to the white cap. Can you tell that I like this shade a lot. It’s so pretty and girly!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I got the shade Aster Place which is a nice rose mauve tone. Which is a very pretty shade to wear for the coming Lunar New Year celebration? Tradition is to wear red on that day but I’ve already planned to wear this aster place with my other red outfit.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Just two coats and without top coat

Love the colors and the smell of this polish. It simply has a nice coverage for a drugstore brand.

I’m usually too lazy to do the top coat and to my surprise it dries pretty fast. Application was smooth and easy. I would say it dries up about 8-10 minutes without top coat. The best part is that I got the full opacity in just 2 coats. This is so cool! I love how opaque the formula is.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is a good drugstore version polish I’ve wore! Essie is usually my favorite and still is but this one only takes 2 coats. It’s opaque shiny and after 4 days there is only a minimal wear. Which is not bad in my opinion. You see, I don’t like wearing gloves when doing dishes. I like the feel of washing dishes, I don’t know how to explain this. But maybe it’s just me! I’m quite impressed that it long lasting.

Overall, I’m more impressed than I expected to be with this! I recommend to those who want pretty colors that are affordable and they’re cruelty free!! Now, run to Walmart, girls. This is seriously nice.

Let me know what you think. Will it be a yes or a pass if you see this at your local Walmart?

So ya, thanks for stopping by to read and I hope to see you again on the next one. Bye!

Question Tuesday|What would it be?

Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog. Today, we’re going to talk on the following topic.

choice

Q: If you could have any job for one day/week/year, what would it be? It has to be something completely frivolous- no saving the planet/people/animals, just an occupation that is fun. Of course, you would magically have the skill/talent/body/whatever to do the job to perfection.

Here are mine:

  • Be a model for Fashion Week
  • Morning news anchor
  • Food critics
  • Beauty Columnist

Don’t forget to comment in the section below. I love to hear what your comments.

Thanks for reading and I hope to see you again on my next blog!

Have a fab week!

Question Tuesday – Journaling

Hey guys!

13736935_326113704444811_2096500397_n

Since I started blogging, I’ve started journaling as a way to stay focused and positive. I wanted to share how I did mine if you’re interested to know. I personally find bullet journaling to be a very effective tool! It’s very easy, super fun, and takes very little time out of my schedule. I really enjoy this!

Q: Who else here bullet journals? Don’t forget to comment below. I love to hear what you think.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read.

Blogging Schedule

Hey guys! Hope your week were great. Today, I thought to share with you guys my blogging schedule, if you care.

I’ve been blogging since two years ago and I’ve never stopped ever since. I used to blog seven times a week consistently on the first year but decided to cut it down to 4 times a week when I felt it became too overwhelming for me. I was stressed out and then I remembered why I blog in the first place.

blogging-tips-1

I’ve been following this schedule for a year now and it’s time I wanted to spice up a little by adding the topics of what I’ll post on the schedule.

For example: On Promo Monday, I’ll post either one of the topics. It could be a beauty haul, lifestyle or fashion haul.

So I’ve put up a schedule which works best for me and hope for you too. I’m always looking for ways to tweak my system to make it more efficient, effective and inspiring. A way to consistently blogging without burning out. Blogging could be stressful at times when there is a deadline to meet.

How do I keep up? Well, here’s the thing you might want to know (maybe you already know) – Never wait until you have enough time to write the post. If you miss that very important moment of being inspired, that article may never happen. This is very important !

Here’s what you’ll find in this blog?

blog post schedules

I’ll be posting 4-5 times a week based on this schedule. I’ll also be posting Blogtober post every Saturday for the month October. If you like to add your requests that you want me to post, then don’t forget to leave your comments below.

How do you keep yourself motivated and inspired? How do you keep producing fresh content without burning out?

Thank you for reading my post and happy blogging. Hope to see you all again on the next blog. Bye!

Wake Me Up Concealer – Review & Swatch

Hi guys! Hope you’re all having a wonderful Friday 🙂

Nothing much to report today except editing my post while listening to oldie songs and Bee Gees. This song keeps playing on my head now. Oh I can’t stop… hahaha!

Let’s take a look …

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Wake me up before you go-go, don’t leave me hanging on like a yo-yo with little Rimmel Anti Fatigue Radiant Glow Concealer in Light/Medium. I picked up this concealer many moons ago and had just brought this our to wear again recently.

After testing it out, I remembered why I didn’t reach for it in the first place.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The concealer comes in a lip gloss like tube which I particularly like. It comes with a doe foot wand applicator which means applying only a little of the product at a time.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Comes in very limited shade range which I find quite frustrating. This shade has a little pinkish undertoned and just not the right color for me since I’m currently on NC25. The shade is a bit dark as concealer. Sorry, but I don’t think I like this concealer very much.

It’s available in 4 shades – Very Fair, Fair, Light-Medium & Medium; the shade I have is in Light/Medium.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The formula is decent with the consistency of it being not thick but creamy. It gives a medium coverage and over applying could be a nightmare.

I also have combination skin and  one of my biggest struggle is to find concealer that covers the redness around my nose and cheeks without it clinging to the dry patches or making skin look flaky. That’s a big no no!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I tested it over the long weekends and I’m going to say that it’s a miss for me. I really want to like it but the coverage isn’t as I expected with poor color selections a disadvantage.

Overall, it’s a decent product if you’re a fan of Rimmel’s makeup brand, but in my opinion it’s not necessarily a must have. There are other drugstore concealers out there which absolutely works much better than this. So, sadly, it’s a miss for me but if you love it, then continue what floats your boat.

Have you tried Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer?  Did you like it? Share you experiences in the comment below.

So, that’s it for this today’s blog post and I’ll see you again on the next one. Bye!

Sharon xoxo

Is Time Off a Part of Your Blogging Plan?

OMG you guys! I’m writing this post while sitting on a black leather over-sized chair, listening to radio in my hotel room, and will soon be heading out to the beach after finishing this post. The view is simply amazing, there is a gorgeous lake not far away from where we stay.

Frankly, I’m pretty stressed out about taking a two weeks off before school starts.

Yes, I know … I should be stressed right now. But I’m actually feeling okay about it – things will work out, and I’m doing some of the most important work I’ll do all year. I’m taking some time off.

Running my own blog as a business or as a hobby requires intense amount of energy, forethought and foresight. It’s way too easy to wake-up to the laptop, instead of with a cup of espresso coffee in the morning. Anyone else could relate?

I’ll be taking my weeks off from blogging but I’m not going to sweat about it, I’ve already scheduled a couple of Monday posts while I’m gone and actually utilize my trip for blog ideas! I will still share  pictures on Snapchat and Instagram. And if you haven’t subscribed to my blog or social media already, you might want to do so now.

Reason for taking a time off:

In fact, letting our minds off the hook, to wander, to experience, is actual a key ingredient of the creative process. If you are waiting for the next “a-ha” moment, whether it’s a new article idea, blog tagline or potential partner, your best bet is to chill for a bit and take your well deserve vacation.

If you’re furiously trying to force out a new big idea, take it from me, and take a break. The world won’t end, I know my friends would understand.

How do you take time away from your blog? Have you ever taken a blog vacation? What worked (or what didn’t)? Tell me about it in the comment below. I love to hear what you think.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope I’ll see you guys again very soon. Bye!
