Ipsy Bag Creme Lipstick by Forever 21

Hey everyone!

I’m back with the Ipsy November unboxing bag that has this nice creme lipstick Berry shade. It comes in a black plastic packaging and the great part of this lipstick is that it has a transparent bottom for easy pick me up color shade identification.

love and beauty berry lipstick

Okay, maybe I have high expectation on this brand but this creme lipstick really falls short. No doubt that it glides smoothly and actually it’s jut too moist for a creme lipstick in my opinion. It feels more like a lip gloss than a creme lipstick. The other downside is that this formula tasted strange (like kerosene). One thing that push me away from a lipstick is the strong smell and taste. I was really put off by the taste on this one.

It has some shimmer finish. This lipstick bleeds and color transfer very easily and my lips feels oily and I just have to rub them off immediately after trying. Sadly, this is a no no for me 😦

Any who, it has very good pigment formula coupled with a sheer finish. Overall I feel not comfortable wearing it on my lips because of the smell and taste. Frankly, I’m not impressed at all with this lipstick and will not repurchase it. This is my take and my opinion only and it may work for others but definitely not for me. I don’t plan to wear this Forever 21 lipstick again.

Have you tried any lipstick that doesn’t work on you? If yes, which brand? Let me know below. I love to hear your experience.

Thanks for reading.

The Body Shop ~Beauty Haul!

It’s Friday!!!

Happy Friday friends. Guess what I am going to share with you today after my last Friday’s haul on NYX makeup. I’m always happy to do my haul and you are all an encouragement to me. Thank you.

When the Body shop have one of their sale of Buy 3, Get 2 Free, it takes quite a lot of willpower to resist it. To be honest, I’m quite a big fan of Body Shop on bath & body, skin care and makeup products. So, with sales like that, it’s going to take a tranquilizer to put me down (ha!ha!ha!).

So, here are some of the haul which I spent about $70.00 in the store. I got them several weeks ago. It’s just sitting there and waiting for my review. It’s strange how I didn’t do my haul on these earlier. I’m always excited to share newer hauls and so once I forgot then it will be sitting there until today. But don’t worry, the sales are still on their website.

The Body SHop Beauty Haul

The sales includes all bath & body, skin care, makeup, hair etc…  I will definitely be reviewing the majority of the items I’ve bought in due course, after I have been able to thorougly try them out.

Color Crush Shine Lipsticks in 201 and 130

I love lipsticks and I told myself that I’m just going to get one but ended up getting three in total. I paid $12.75 for each.

The Body Shop website says that it’s an irresistible lipstick that gives a sheer wash of colour with a sorbet-fresh shine. Each moisture-rich lipstick is infused with a delicate rose fragrance. I can’t agree more. I always prefer to go for matte and creamy finish but since it’s sooo irresistable I got them in sheer finish. What am I thinking? Hmmm…. probably impulse buying! But the colors are nice. Perfect to wear them for doing shopping errands.

The trouble I have with body shop’s lipstick is that there is no color name description on their packaging or even on their website. They only use color code on its packaging label. I find it hard to distinguish which red and the other darker without having a color name to link. But I guess that’s just me. Overall, body shop’s products are  really amazing and I have been using their bath & body products for decades. I have confident in their products and that’s part of the reason why I branched out to their makeup section to try them out.

Vitamin E Moisture Cream for All Skin Types on Daily protection and moisturization (1.7 oz)  $18.00

I need moisturizer for my dry skin and I picked this up for cloudy or rainy day’s wear. It doesn’t have SPF but I plan to wear it when the sun is hiding behind the clouds. It says to provide daily moisturize and hydrate skins leaving it feeling smooth and soft. I tried it in the store and I can feel the cold, soothing and soft cream on my skin. It has a lovely smell too. Can’t resist so this goes in my shopping basket.

Camomile Sumptous Cleansing Butter (net wt: 2.7 oz)

This is the product that caught my eyes. I have my usual Estee Lauder eyemakeup remover but this one looks unique. I like the tin can packaging. It’s a simple design but light in weight. It does have a gentle soothing smell which I really like. The salesperson tried it on my hand and it feels buttery and it does removed the lipstick swatches I made earlier while at the store. I have’nt had any butter type of makeup remover before and this one  impresses me.

Tea tree flawless bb cream

Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream in 03 Dark color shade (net wt: 1.3 fl oz)

Well,  I mentioned earlier that I bought these items several weeks ago when I still got my tan. So, the dark shade in 03 fit my skin tone but now as the weather gets colder I need a lighter shade of Medium. There isn’t much of color shades selection to choose from. It’s either Light, Medium or Dark. I might just get another medium for autumn till winter.

Tea tree always comes up with incredibly wonderful tea scents on body wash, lotions, tea tree oil to name a few which for me is quite rejunevating and therapeutical.

Since the promotion is still on and the weather is getting colder, I don’t mind getting a lighter color of Tea Tree BB cream now.

Products are never tested on animals, and all their products are 100% vegetarian.

So, there you have it. That’s all that I bought from the Body Shop on this week’s beauty haul.

If you bought anything from the 3 for 2 promotion, I’d love to know what you bought?

As always. thank you for reading.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation|Review

Maybelline Fit me

This is one of my latest Maybelline foundation and I have been loving it so far. I like the consistency of the texture and it smells real amazing. It has sheer to medium coverage and it blends so well. I have no problem blending it and just love the soft and smooth feeling on my skin. It provides a very natural looking coverage. Once the foundation sets, I would say that it gives a semi-matte finishing or dewy finish which by the way not oily. If you have combination oily skin, then using it with Maybelline Fit Me Powder will do the trick of covering the dewy finish to matte finish.

Maybelline fit me swatch

The color swatch in 315 Soft Honey seems a little bit orange-y tone. I was shocked at first glance when I did the color swatch but once I tried it, I just love it. One warning is that this foundation tends to changed color once it’s on your skin – due to oxidation. On my buffing brush the shade is similar as the color swatch above and it blended out amazingly. This foundation sets quite quickly. Therefore, I have to say, my vote of satisfaction for this product is absolute. There are many different color shades to choose and make sure to spend some time to test the shades before getting them.

texture

The other side of the coin is that it claims to have SPF 18, but the sunscreen doesn’t seems to have an adequate UVA protection for the skin. Losing some of the important ingredients of making the sunscreen better. Note: Shades # 330, 340, and 360 do NOT have sunscreen.

I like the glass bottle packaging but I would prefer that the top bottle opening has a pump applicator. I’m clumsy at times and tend to drop my makeup or accidentally pour out too much liquid especially when I’m in a hurry. But other than the lower SPF, I’m finding true love with Maybelline Fit Foundation.

My 2 cents of this foundation is that it has excellent quality and great value for money. I might say that i’s quite close to the Makeup Forever dupe foundation. I will definitely repurchase. Love it!

I would love to know what color shades will you get?

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Visible Lift® Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup SPF17

Visible Lift® Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup SPF 17 DSC00943

Today, I’m going to give my overview of this L’oreal Visible Lift Foundation which I have been using for quite sometime. I remembered, I got this fabulous foundation awhile ago and it was on special. I paid half price of $19.00(1.0 fl oz) for it. Well, after minutes of digging and almost turning the bin upside down (just kidding!). I was so glad that I found my skin shade (Hurray!!!). And yes! I got mine in Honey Beige (No. 155). Perfect color tone for me.

There were twevlve color shades available and ranges from lightest to darkest shades. The darkest shades will suit more likely for the medium skin tone. Can be purchased online at http://www.lorealparis.ca or at your L’oreal counter store.

I wore it this morning and are very excited to give my first thought about it. Mind you, this foundation felt so lightweight and smooth. I love it. The texture is slightly thick but soft. It has a silky texture and exceptional blending ability. It has medium coverage that was able to cover most of my uneven skin. I started by applying moisturizer first and then proceeded to applying the foundation. Putting moisturizer as a base is important for someone who has dry skin. This product seems to cater more for normal to oily skin person. I just dispensed with one pump of the foundation on the back of my hand and apply them with my fingers. It blends very well and set in pretty fast.

Here is my photo shots taken The “Before” L’oreal Visible Lift foundation and “After” with makeup and the amazing foundation.

after 11 hours look with foundation
after 11 hours look with foundation

Photo taken after wearing the foundation for 11 hours. I can still see my eyeshadows and maybe a little bit of  some shine on my T-zone area and that’s about it.  I see that my face still looked fresh and this foundation is so long lasting, except for my lips of course. I didn’t do any touched up at all. I’m amazed!

On their website, they claimed that this Visible Lift Serum Absolute – features an age reversing serum of 5 ingredients in 1 luminous makeup. This new makeup instantly evens skin tone with a luxuriously lightweight formula that doesn’t settle into lines and wrinkles.

Okay, let’s not get too excited. First of all, no makeup foundation is age-reversing, not even a second. Well, I didn’t buy it because it’s age-reversing but it does make me feel fresh and less fatigue.

I also love the bottle packaging that comes with a pump applicator. A little goes a long as the saying goes. Great product with great value for money.

Let me know on the comment below. Do you have an everyday foundation? What are some of your favorite shades and brand?

Thank you for reading!

Rimmel BB Cream|Review

DSC03031

Hey Gorgeous! I picked up this Rimmel BB Cream 9 in 1 Super Perfection in Medium. Net wt: 1 fl oz. I’m curious of the drugstore BB cream and I just have to try them try out  I believe there are only 2 color selection which is in light and  medium shades. It claims to provide SPF 25 with mattifying and brightening formula. It has a nice scent which is not overpowering.

DSC03033

Well, to get to the point of performance, the liquid creamy texture is a little thicker than other Western BB creams. It’s more like the Korean BB cream which has a thicker texture. It comes in a soft plastic tube packaging which I quite like. Easy to put in my makeup bag 🙂

DSC03034

I notice that this formula has a some pink undertones. The consistency is not liquidy or runny and this makes blending and buffing so easy. I use my hand to apply the BB cream. It does seems to cover some of my uneven skin toned and some redness around my nose area but I would say it’s a light to medium coverage only. But this BB cream is buildable without looking cakey. Since I prefer my BB cream to be as natural looking as possible I just apply once all over my face and let it sets in. I do notice that my face is a little brighter but I can still feel the texture on my skin. It’s not lightweight but it does its job nicely.

DSC03035

I have a dry skin complexion and after the cream sets in I see more shine on my T-zone area. For you who has oily-skin complexion using a setting powder after the BB cream would help reduced the shining effect.

DSC03038

On me, I’m satisfied with the appearance from this BB cream. The shade fits my skin tone nicely and I like it. I wore it the whole day and I only need to touch up once after lunch but that was it.

Overall, I think this is a good product for you who love some dewy finish. It’s unfortunate that this BB cream does not have matte finish as it claims but still the price is reasonable price for a drugstore brand. It also has a good amount of SPF 25 in this formula.

Have you tried any drugstore BB cream? I love to hear your comment down below.

Thank you so much for reading.
