Gosh Cosmetics Review & Photos

What on earth is mineral pigments???

Mineral pigments are pigments that are created by combining and heating naturally occurring elements. They include ultramarine and spinel pigments such as below mentioned. I did some google search and found some information which I thought would help answer this question.

Gosh  Mineral Color Pigments

In summary: historically, ultramarine blue was derived from the precious stone called lapus lazuli. The use of ultramarine pigments is to create deep blues and violets that are fit for a work of art.

Let’s take a look!

I think this is one of the Mineral Colour Pigments by Gosh  that wouldn’t drive me crazy. I picked it several weeks ago and I’m wearing it today. The bright Apple Green color is pretty and inviting. I typically don’t use mineral powder shadow very often but this shade of light green with a tiny hint of shimmer, I like. This Mineral Colour Powder has a very light and silky texture too.

First, I love the color green and this shade is right up my alley. Second, it doesn’t cause any mess on my face or on my vanity when I’m applying the shadows.

The tricky part is taking out the product from the jar. Instead of dipping or scrambling to pick up the shadow from the tiny hole, what I did was to shake the products into the cover and use my finger to apply them on my lids. No hassle and no mess. I like that!

Jar packaging is cute with a duo plastic lid to protect the mineral powder. Easy to pick up products with eyeshadow brush and it blends well.

It’s silky, soft, finely milled and blends easily onto lids! It doesn’t cause any creases or fall out when I used it with dry application. The texture gives a wet look on swatch as seen on my fingers and directly on bare hand.

Color swatch on dry application on naked hand. Nice color payoff, what you see is what you get especially more with wet application. The product are more intense and bold. It really is not that intense neon apple green, depending on how you use. If used lightly as on the lids or inner corners it is just a normal colored shimmer.

Overall, I feel this is a very nice pigment shadow. When paired with a good primer, this product also wears well into the day without having to touch up. I would recommend if you’re looking for an alternative to the pricey MAC pigments. Available at Shoppers Drug Mart/Pharmaprix.

Have you tried any pigment shadows? Leave your comments which brand is your favorite. I love to read what you think.

That’s it for today’s post and I wish you all a wonderful weekend! Happy Mother’s Day to all mommy in the world.

Thanks for taking the time to read guys. I’ll see you on the next one!

The Best Cheap Makeup aka Drugstore Dupe

Confession: Alright! I’m a makeup hoarder. Okay, maybe that wasn’t exactly groundbreaking news but you see, I love makeup. I do not discriminate towards any certain price point. If it’s good stuff, I will sing its praises. In fact, I am a sucker for a good dupe, and will always choose it if it performs just as good as its high end counterpart.

As a self-proclaimed beauty addict, I’m not ashamed of my love for/need to try every new product out there, but obviously this addiction isn’t very budget-friendly.

Today, I’ve something special to share with you all. I’ve here what I think is the best cheap makeup. They’re everything you can find at your drugstore. From foundation, mascara, to eyeshadows and more! Keep your eyes peeled for what I’m about to reveal here. Who doesn’t love a good splurge…. but a good steal is the real thrill!

Best of all? This bad boy is under $10! Hurray!

I have this Color Tattoo Metal 24 Hrs Eyeshadow in Barely Branded for $7.67 at my local drugstore but you can find it at Walmart, mass merchandise retailers or drugstores.
The shade is gorgeous. It is probably my most favorite cream shadow I acquired from Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal line. You know me: nude crazed lol!
Speaking of pigmentation, this Barely Branded has good pigmentation and creamy. Layering is easy to achieve and color last all day with no creasing and minimal fading.
Photo: Mac Cosmetics

You can wear it alone as an eyeshadow or like me I used it as an alternative dupe for Mac Painterly. I haven’t a clue how Mac Paint Pot formula is like but I heard this Color Tattoo Barely Branded is a close dupe for the shade Painterly. If you have tried both, I would love to hear your comments below.

I’m sharing my thoughts on my experience with Maybelline Color Tattoo and not comparing the difference of the two for dupes. This is just my personal liking for Color Tattoo Barely Branded shadow which I think was a great find for me to use as eye base until I’m ready to invest on the paint pot by Mac.
Here is the swatch out shadow directly from the pot. You can see just how pretty the pigmentation is. Amazing, right?
Since this is a dupe for Mac Painterly, you can easily save more than $15.00 easily.
Overall, I am blown away by the gorgeous shade in Barely  Branded and I’v been reaching for it since I got it. Now that I know I’m in love with this dupe, I’ll be repurchasing this once I ran out. You can find this product at any drugstores.
Off you go to your nearest drugstores to check it out for yourself and be sure to visit Maybelline website.
Got any beauty dupes you’ve found lately? Share your favorites with me in the comments below!
Thanks for stopping by. I’ll see you again on the next one! Ciao bella!

NYX Beauty – Drugstore [Pics Heavy]

Hey Beauties! Dang that mid-week crisis. So anyway, I’ve been bad once again, but managed to gather a little something to put for the blog! Three posts in two days from ME, that’s a marathon in my planner! lol!

Press Samples

I was so excited when I was send these two NYX products from Galerie Beaute de Pincourt to review on. I enjoy testing out new products to share my thoughts and opinion with all of you. I’m preparing a special something for you to thank you for your constant support. I’ll reveal it in a week so don’t forget to stay tuned.

Many of you may know that NYX Cosmetics is also my favorite drugstore brand which was so hard to get before in many parts of the province such as the one I live in. But things changed for the better, good news is NYX Cosmetics is now available at all Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix with a good selection of product lines in-store. Yahoo!!!

I wanted everything from the hardcore Prismatic line because I hate runny eye makeup! I’ve never used this NYX Prismatic Shadow before and boy was I glad to try it now.

Available in twelve kaleidoscope metallic shades for CAD$8.99 with net wt: 0.043 oz. Just to point out that the sample I got here with me is the Prismatic Shadow in Girl Talk which you can find them at Pharmaprix Pincourt or NYX locations.

The color payoff was exactly what I was looking for: a nice shimmer pale pink that didn’t overwhelm the other colors it was blended with. Beautiful pigmentation with just one swoosh. Perfect as a highlight on eyes, nose, cupid bow and on the lids. I swear that Girl Talk is definitely made for highlighting. If you have special function or going clubbing, this I recommend.

This is seriously pigmented stuff! I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but it’s true. I tried this today and literally used half a drop to cover my entire lids. Awesome! Also, it’s great for mixing so I’ll definitely buy some more outrageous colors next time!
I’m very pleased with this product and would definitely going back for more. Very quickly, I have Liquid Gold in mind, next up on my purchase.

NYX Wonder Pencil in Light shade is a concealer, eye brightener, reverse lip liner in one.

Whether it works as a concealer, frankly I’m a little on the fence about it. It’s too small for under eyes so I definitely think this is meant for spot treating. It’s kinda hard to blend but does conceal little, little spots. I can see this working as a spot concealer for sure. I would like it better if NYX would have produce more than just 3 colors to choose from.

It works better on waterline or tight line application without tugging.  It does naturally brighten my eyes up when first applied though. I like the look of this better than a stark white. It lasted me for a good 3 hours wear on my waterline. The formula is creamy and nicely pigmented.

There’s nothing especially unique about it except all it is, is a nude liner if you wear it as a reverse lip liner. I applied it my lips and boy my lips look SUCCULENT, as if I had lip injection (hahaha!). But yeah, super standard nude liner with a multitude of uses, and a reasonable price.

I’ll use this on rotation with the other nude eyeliner I have. If you like to have all in one pencil, then you’re going to like this.

Available at Shoppers Drug Mart, Pharmaprix Pincourt or NYX online.

What do you think of this new (to me at least) NYX products? Have you tried any of this and if yes leave your comment what you think.

That’s it for today girlfriends! I hope to see you again on the next one 🙂

Thanks for taking the time to read and I’ll see you on the next one! If you have any questions or would like me to do a more in-depth post on any of these products, please  let me know – you can leave a comment below, on my Facebook page or email me.

Elf Subtle To Sultry Eyes Review, Photos and Swatches

Limited edition of elf Subtle to Sultry Eyes Duo – you get three eyeshadows duos with a brush for CAD$7.00. I was totally blown away by the price when I saw this set at Maxi Grocery store. Undoubtedly, I have to get this. You know by now right, I’m just too obsessed with eyeshadows.

Top: Nude/Light Brown

Center: Plum/Coffee

Bottom: Grey/Black

Right: elf Professional Eyeshadow Brush

I feel that the shadows aren’t the most pigmented, but the brush it comes with is awesome and the colors are still beautiful. I really enjoy playing with all these color shadows. Very versatile and it could be mixed and match shades to create any eye makeup you fancy.

Nude/Light Brown

I really like the twist lid packaging for these shadows. It contains a generous amount for products and they’ve pretty shimmer and texture smooth and soft. I’d say my favorite is the light brown shade for the soft muted shimmery finish. The nude one has matte finish which be nice to apply on ids and as highlighter.

Sorry! This Picture Couldn’t Make It Justice

Need a good primer though if you’re aiming for a long lasting wear or intense dramatic look.

Love, love both of these shadows. The plum shade is of matte finish and the coffee shimmery. I’m in love with this duo!!!

Swatch Directly From The Pot

Apologize for my nail polish but just ignore that and focus on the color swatches. Aren’t they amazing. One thing I love about this duo eyeshadows is that all colors are true to the post. Impressive color payoff, so a little goes a long way. Can’t complain much on that.

Color Swatch On Bare Hand

Excuse me to show some of my green vein (okay, okay I’ve warm undertone) so there you have it. I couldn’t seems to get closed up picture focus, hence this picture doesn’t make it justice. I recommend you pick this gift set and give it a try. You’d only either like or love it. That’s how great value and good quality these duo shadows are.

The packaging is of clear transparent lid. Easy to see which shades to pick without much effort. The Grey and Black shades are amazing. It quickly become one of my favorites.

How Pretty Are These Darker Shades?

Such a lovely grey and black eyeshadows. You can wear these for smokey eye which would look glamorous.

All The Color Swatches from Nude to Mid-tone to Darkest

I don’t know about you, but for CAD$7.00 to get all these beautiful shades,  I’ll jump on this set in a heartbeat. Impressive value and I’m personally impressed given its from a drugstore brand. So, YAY for that!

Closed Up Color Swatches

Be mesmerized by the color and the formula. Aren’t they just so pretty? I can’t wait to wear these but I stopped to share this limited edition gift set with all of you in a HURRY! It’s LE and so, if you’re really serious of wanting Elf Holiday Gift Set, then don’t wait. Go PICK UP one now.

This is a great brush to be included in this set. The handle brush is easy to hold and the bristle soft and easy to pick up products. It can be used for dry or wet products. A nice size for my eyes when blending shadows.

Elf Professional Eyeshadow Brush

Definitely worth the $CAD7.00! ELF you did it again! The colors are beautiful and the brush that comes with it is also very nice. It can be used for everything, from crease to inner corner to liner! Definitely a nice addition to this set. Makes a great gift for any makeup lover (including you)!

Now, back to where I stopped, continue my eye makeup with these lovely shadows of course! I’ll put the finish look on twitter and facebook. So, make sure to stay tuned.

Thanks as usual for stopping by and comment.

Maybelline The Nudes And The Blushed Nudes

Maybelline eyeshadow palettes

By now, you guys might have guessed that I love talking and sharing my views and opinion on eyeshadow palettes. I’m obsessed and I’m not ashamed to admit it. But don’t get me wrong, I love everything about beauty and makeup but this is my most talked subject in my post for now. Eventually, I’ll be touching on other interesting and cool topics as the season changes. If you are an eyeshadow junkies like me, then you might want to continue reading …

Maybelline Eyeshadow Palettes

Let’s get started:- lots of pictures below

Here are the two contenders. The top is The Nudes and the bottom The Blushed Nudes Palettes both by Maybelline. Palettes are available at any drugstores and online. Don’t forget to check them out if you’re on a budget spending. Prices below $15.00 depending on the drugstores and locations in the area.

The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette by Maybelline is a warm neutral nude eyeshadows. There are 12 shadows with six mattes and six shimmery finish. I did a full review awhile ago and here is the link if you like to read more about it.

Inside this palette holds all the shadows from light to mid tones and dark. Very versatile and I just love the colors in this palette. This palette is for every color tones. Perfect for everyday wear for a natural looking appearance or you can easily spice it up to a smokey and intense evening wear. Both looks are a delight to my eyes.

Maybelline The Nudes Palette

I’m excited so I can’t help but to do a color swatch again for your eyes only. Directly taken from the pan and swiped on my bare hands (no primer). The colors stay true and no creasing detected.

Another palette from Maybelline is the Blushed Nudes that was added to its new collection. This palette has more rosy pink undertone and some pretty shades on the bottom palette. If you love pink shadows and are pale skin, I believe this palette would work beautifully. The shades that can translate on my light to medium skin are the darker shades.

This palette has nice pigmentation and smooth texture. The textures on both palettes are similar. They’re smooth with no creasing at all. To read more about the full review, hit here for recent throwback.

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes

Keep your eyes peeled for this color swatches. Applied on bare hands without eye primer, The top row looks invisible on my skin tone except the last shadow on the right and the rest are blendable and pretty easy to work with. I wasn’t that impressed with the lighter shadows. This palette has four matte shadows only compared to the Nudes palette which has six mattes.

Maybelline Eyeshadow Palettes Comparison

Side by side color swatches of both palettes and the order of the shadows placed.

the nudes

Let me close by saying, I am no artist. I am also not a professional beauty guru. And I will not be on the next season of the Reality TV Beauty Competition, lol. This is just how I wear my eye makeup that I’ve been so obsessed with. If you’re beginners then I hope this post would help to inspires you.

the Blushed Nudes

I always have fun working on makeup and wearing lovely eyeshadows and today, I’m sharing these eye makeup looks using Maybelline The Nudes and The Blushed Nudes shadows. I would repurchase the Nudes palette in a heartbeat if I needed to (I obviously don’t and have enough eyeshadow to last a hundred lifetimes). But  some of those shades are just beautiful. For the price and quality, I say GO for it. The Nudes or The Blushed Nudes, the choice is yours!

Let me know if you try this out! Or if you have another way of doing your eye makeup look!!!

Thanks so much for taking your time to read.
