Rimmel London Makeup Product – Review & Swatches

Hey guys! What’s up friends! So today’ I’m going to do two product reviews on  my rediscovered drugstore products. They’re the Glam’s Eyes Quad Eyeshadow and the ever popular Provocalips 16Hr Kissproof Lip Color by Rimmel London.

Rimmel London

Starting off, I’ll start with my favorite product I love to talk about all the time. Rimmel Glam’s Eyes Eyeshadow Quad I’ve been loving since I started blogging and still reached for it whenever I’ve the chance. I talked about it on my old blog and if you like to check it out, here’s the link.

So, yes I’m wearing it again today. This is affordable and they’re such pretty quads. It’s very good and I really like it. I repurchase the same shade in Royal Tea and a new color collection in Smokey Purple. These are their two color quads I’ve been loving.

It has a good mix of shimmery and matte shadows in the quads palette. You get two mattes and two shimmery finish eyeshadows. The packaging is small and compact which makes it travel friendly and pattern on the shadows is a nice feature.

Royal Tea Color Swatch

What you’ll find from this quad (L-R): Intense metallic peach, matte butterscotch, copper brown and matte warm medium brown shades.

The drawback about these eyeshadows are yes, they’re matte but not very pigmented and a leave powdery finish especially the nude shadow (2nd on the left). I’ve basically have to dig it into the pan to get what you see on this swatch. Like always, the way I do a color swatch on my blog is by swatching the products on my bare hand using only one finger swipe. No primer and not on wet surface.

Smokey Purple Color Swatch

What you’ll find from this quad (L-R): Cool cream with the slightest purple tint, Dusty pink, Dusty dark purple and Dusty purple shades.

The darker colors definitely are more pigmented than the lighter colors and you will need to build up the color strength that you want. The good thing I like about these eyeshadows are what you see on the palette is what you get!

If you’re beginners and need help on, they’ve instructions behind as shown here which are easy to follow

Look at position of the chart: #3 and #4 are the mattes while #1 and #2 are the shimmery shadows.

They’re easy to work on with primer or eyeshadow base. Here’s the look I created recently. I wore it the whole time from morning till evening and it didn’t budge. I do like the staying power!

I’m very much on the fence with this product. There are so many good things about this product like the packaging, color selections and long wearing, but to the pigmentation I got to say I was a little let down. They’re not terribly bad at all, don’t get me wrong but I’ve seen other drugstore brands that performs much better in this category. They’re up to standard for the price and a good choice when on a budget!

Next product I’m going to talk about are these bad boys! Rimmel Provocalips is my new favourite lipstick. It may be the last lipstick I ever need (OK, that’s obviously a lie, but you get the idea – I’m obsessed).

On the website they claim that it is “Kiss proof , transfer proof, food proof, high impact endless color. No tight feeling or dry lips. Lips feel smooth and moisturized all day long.”

In Rimmel’s Provocalips lip color collection there are eight colors. I picked up three of the eight.

It is also unscented and comes with a Doe foot applicator sponge on both ends. Love this applicator. They’re so easy to apply products on and it glides on like a dream.

Top coat – Lock & Shine – Top Coat

This is my favorite part of the lip color actually. This is the other end of the applicator with top coat. It works to lock the color and shine from bulging or fading off.

Left to Right: Dare to Pink, I’ll Call You & Little Mink – Swatches

Out of the three swatches, I really couldn’t get Dare to Pink to work, as you can see from the swatches it just wouldn’t apply as nicely as I wanted it to.

lip swatches
Wearing 2 coats with a layer of top coat in these swatches

In this review, I road-tested 3 of the shades – Dare to Pink followed by I’ll Call You and then lastly Little Mink. For the test, I kissed the back of my hand and noticed there was no transfer. Once the 2nd layer was dry I then applied the top coat. I did the kiss test again and found no transfer of color.

The longevity of these is fabulous. They’re indeed transfer-proof while kissing, but on top of that, they stay remarkably intact while eating and drinking. The color did not budge at all after several hours and  still looks the same. I did another check at the end of the night, after 9-10 hours wear, the lip color still hold on like life. Although the clear gloss was no longer there, the lip color stayed in tact and my lips still felt moisturized.

Overall, I’m in love with those 3 shades and the formula – they’re so good for absentminded lipstick lovers like me. If you also love bold lips but don’t want to worry too much about reapplication, you’ll love these! I highly recommend it.

Comment and tell me which of those products you’d like me to review next!

Thanks so much for stopping by and read. Hope this mini haul is helpful. Until next time, take care. [muah]

Maybelline The 24K Nudes Palette – Swatches & Review

Hey guys! How’s it going? I was supposedly doing my window shopping but I was excited when I find the new reformulated and improved formula The 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Palette by Maybelline.

Let me introduced you to their new Spring 2017 palette which was launched a couple of months ago. You might’ve seen or heard of it on the internet but this palette is fairly new to me. I was instantly sucked into buying this palette seeing how these colors look gorgeous together.

I’ve very high hopes for this considering it’s pretty easy to find nicely pigmented shadows at the drugstore price point these days. So was it worth the hype? Let’s take a look!

I love the gold packaging and it retails for $14.99. A palette designed with beautiful matte and shimmery shades showing gold, bronze and copper tints.

I really like that in the back include suggestions of how we can combine the tones, that can make it easier for those who do not know much about makeup. This you can find in all of their Nudes palette collection.

And here’s the dual ended sponge applicator looks like. The sponge that comes with the palette is ideal for smoking out your eyeshadow. I usually don’t be bother to use the applicator provided. I prefer to use my own brush.

I really like the colors and how they all look inside of the palette. You get some mattes, shimmers and satin finishing from this palette. One thing I can tell you for sure is that they do feel more buttery then their other previous eyeshadow palettes.

These shadows are notably easy to blend and easy to blend is key. I’ve a color swatch to show you – look how nicely pigmented and silky soft these shadows are; and they don’t have a problem with wear time at all. The colors go on smoothly and aren’t patchy, I rarely got much fallout but just a little with the darker shades, and they blend easily without fading too quickly. I’m wearing it again today!

Top row from left to right

Shimmery Nude,  Matte Deep brown, Pearly White, Light Bronze, Matte Nude & Shimmery Gold

Look how pretty these shadows are on my bare arm.  You can see me did a swatch directly to my hand. No base or primer and they’re not wet. Can you see how buttery and silky smooth these shadows are? No powdery and dry feel on this palette except shade 5.

By the way, the furthest shade to the right is the only Gold out of the twelve shades. Texture is very smooth and soft. It’s the most beautiful gold ever!

Bottom row from left to right.

Satin White,  Shimmery Deep Purple, Shimmery Gold Green, Matte Black, Shimmery Brown Copper & Shimmery Black

The cause of the fallout in my opinion in shade 5 (top row) is that it’s on the flaky side and shades 9 and 12 have micro glitter particles that separate from the rest of the formula.

I find almost all of the shades have a buttery texture so that part of the claim was true. It’s definitely better than the previous Maybelline Nudes Palettes but is comparable to high end, not really.

The Maybelline 24K Nudes is the perfect palette for those of you who like an ‘eyeshadow quick fix’ where you dip your finger in an eyeshadow and swipe it all over your lid, just for that little something extra.

Overall, I’m feeling so-so about the new Maybelline 24k Nudes palette. While the formula is improved it’s not as great as I was hoping it would be so that was a bit of a letdown. But anyways, I’m going to keep working with this palette and see what I think after I’ve used it more.

I do think the palette is reasonably priced, although there are better performing options at this price point if you’re willing to sacrifice amount of product and color variety.  If you’re looking for a lower price point all together that still offers color variety, the Wet n Wild Au Naturel Palettes come to mind.

What do you think of the new Maybelline 24k Nudes palette? Do you think you’ll buy it? Let me know in the comments below! 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by to read. If you did enjoy this post definitely follow my blog. I hope you come to check on my social media down below. In the meantime come and say hi! Until next time blog, bye!

Spring Scenery Beauty Products

Hey guys! It’s February and it could only mean two things. Romance and spring is coming! Yup, I could totally feel the change in the air this morning. Since Valentine’s Day is only a stone throw away I’ll showing you guys some of the product samples I got recently from a (*)PR company for an exchange of my honest opinion.

When it comes to Valentine’s Day, I like to keep things simple but memorable as well. So, there’s nothing worst than being unprepared for that special night. Am I right! If you’re overwhelmed by tons of products and how to, don’t fret! I got you covered with these beauty products that will have you feeling confident and ready for love.

Let’s take a peek what’s inside this PR box:

*PR Samples

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, give your skin the ultimate date night prep with ACURE Moroccan Argan Oil in Rose. It smells amazing! Makes me feel like a rose! Aaah!!! You should really try this. It doesn’t feel greasy at all once it absorbs to skin. I used it to massage my body and it makes me feel so relaxing and smells awesome. I did tried it as a face serum too since cold weather makes my combination skin incredibly dry. I applied a small amount on my dry patches and 5 days later I could see sign of improvement on my dry patches.

I got Acure Quick Fix Correcting Balm that contains argan oil and starflower. I really like the scent of this balm. It smells amazing! This argan oil comes in a tube packaging which  Initially I thought it was a lip balm corrector but it wasn’t. This borage and argan oil could be used to soothe calm fine lines and wrinkles plus chapped hands, feet, stretch marks and cuticles. I’m very excited to this a little longer before I share my thoughts and opinions on it.

Super cute packaging! Ohh, isn’t it so lovely? This Honey Lip Balm is by The Green Beaver Company. This is my first experience with this brand and I’m falling head over heels on it.

I can’t really explain the scents of this lip balm but if I’ve to put the scents, I would guess it as a natural and raw beeswax smell. As I applied it on my lips, I could feel this creamy moisturizing formula enveloping on my lips. It feels so gentle and balmy. I didn’t notice any heavy or tacky feels on my lips which I really appreciate.

This product is made with 100% natural essential oils. Behold this Lafe’s Natural Deodorant Twist Stick Bliss in Iris and Rose. Retails for $6.99 on their website. Available in four other amazing scents.

I’m not a huge fan of deodorant but this just changed everything. I’m now hooked! Awesome products that lasted all day. It has a strong fragrant scents that lingers on. If you like floral scents then this one is made for you.

Note that this product is free of aluminium and propylene glycol in case you like to know.

Weleda is a multinational company that produces both beauty products and naturopathic medicines with it’s headquarter in Switzerland.

I got this bottle of Jardin De Vie Grenade (Pomegranate inspired) by Weleda together the my PR box. It comes in a 1.7 fl oz color gradient glass bottle packaging. It’s minimalistic though pretty. It says here on the box that this was inspired by the exotic fragrance of Persian gardens. The ingredients are alcohol and perfume from essential oils.

“Grenade” is exactly like this: Sweet and fruity. Honestly, it could be a hit or miss for me. I don’t love or hate this fragrance. I don’t have anything negative to say about it except that I personally will not reach for. The scent is too strange for my liking. I want to like it but it’s not happening. But I know some of you who likes pomegranate, orange and vanilla would definitely enjoy this fragrance.

I was sent two products from Weleda and the next product I got is their Nail Care Pen. The packaging is simple and sleek. One side has a soft brush where you turn the bottom of the pen for products before applying on nails and cuticles.

I haven’t tried this product yet but I’m all excited to give it a try. It’s that time of the year for my nails to take a break from nail polish after the holidays. My nails could need some tender, loving and care.

This is a random product which I wouldn’t expect to receive from the company. As you can see from the image, this toothbrush is not just any toothbrush. It’s a Travel Toothbrush by Radius Tour. If you’ve been following my blog you’ll know that I’m a sucker for cute things. So, when I saw this unfold, snap and brush travel toothbrush, I was floored. The fact that this is a cruelty free product and you can easily find it on their website or at Amazon, Well and Walmart.

I like the soft brittle brush and concept of a replaceable design very much. I like that it’s eco-friendly too. If you’re an environmentalist who is in the market for a cruelty free and travel friendly toothbrush, I say give this brand a chance.

Last but not least, I also received these travel samples for body and hair by Acure. I’ll report back once I’ve tried them in the blog. And in the meantime, if you’re curious to know more, check out their website link for more details.

What do you think of these products? Comment below which product appeals to you the most.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog. I hope to see you all again on my next post. Stay tuned for more popped up makeup products which I’m so excited to show you guys.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Sharon xoxo

Beauty Favorite – Flower Beauty NOTD

Hey guys! Ready for a Flower Nail Lacquer? I sure am.

Seriously, I know that I haven’t done a nail post in awhile and I’ve no idea why! At least now’m starting to catch up on them. Do you remember the post I shared on my Tester Wednesday a while ago? I explained how I stocked up with Flower Beauty products before they took them out the shelves at all Walmart Canada. Well, let’s just say not only did I stocked up their lipsticks, I grabbed quite a bit of their left-over clearance inventories.

I shared photos of some nail color swatches on my Instagram if you care to check it out. I wore this shade before and I’m ready today to give my two cents opinion. I’m just going to jump right in with the review.

The packaging is really cute. Right from the bottle shape to the white cap. Can you tell that I like this shade a lot. It’s so pretty and girly!

I got the shade Aster Place which is a nice rose mauve tone. Which is a very pretty shade to wear for the coming Lunar New Year celebration? Tradition is to wear red on that day but I’ve already planned to wear this aster place with my other red outfit.

Just two coats and without top coat

Love the colors and the smell of this polish. It simply has a nice coverage for a drugstore brand.

I’m usually too lazy to do the top coat and to my surprise it dries pretty fast. Application was smooth and easy. I would say it dries up about 8-10 minutes without top coat. The best part is that I got the full opacity in just 2 coats. This is so cool! I love how opaque the formula is.

This is a good drugstore version polish I’ve wore! Essie is usually my favorite and still is but this one only takes 2 coats. It’s opaque shiny and after 4 days there is only a minimal wear. Which is not bad in my opinion. You see, I don’t like wearing gloves when doing dishes. I like the feel of washing dishes, I don’t know how to explain this. But maybe it’s just me! I’m quite impressed that it long lasting.

Overall, I’m more impressed than I expected to be with this! I recommend to those who want pretty colors that are affordable and they’re cruelty free!! Now, run to Walmart, girls. This is seriously nice.

Let me know what you think. Will it be a yes or a pass if you see this at your local Walmart?

So ya, thanks for stopping by to read and I hope to see you again on the next one. Bye!

Sharon xoxo

What Worked? Beauty January 2017

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you’re having a wonderful day filled with joy, laughter and of course, family.

On today’s post I like to talk about best in beauty as the title says. I’ve no intention to buy anymore makeup but when I saw these gift sets by Essence Cosmetics on Christmas Eve while I was at Maxi Grocery. I was tempted and lost my self control. Left the store with two holiday gift sets.

First, let’s start off by talking about the packaging of the Stand Out Eyes, cute! Inside the packaging are five amazing makeup products while Shimmer and Shine. It houses six holiday shade nail polishes with a Gel top coat. Each gift set retails for CAD$8.97. These for me were some amazing deals!

Love love makeup products and so I want to start with my favorite part of the month : Makeup

This is the first gift set I picked up at the store. I was drawn by the price tag and also the single eyeshadows were calling out my name. Admittedly, what attracted my attention in the first place was the gorgeous embossing pattern! It looks so luxury and fine.

I don’t remember having the Velvets collection line by Essence Cosmetics, so I’m curious to give these a try.  If I’m not mistaken, this is their Spring 2016 line.

Look how cute these chequered embossment surface is. They’re the cutest I’ve seen from this brand. The texture is buttery soft and very nicely pigmented.

The shades I picked up are Smooth Caramel and Taupe Secret. They’re made in Italy in case some of you are curious to know. They’re available in nine velvety soft color spectrum and now I’ve two from the collection. Individual pan retails for US$2.49 each.

Now let’s see how they fared!

They promise to be silky smooth, which they totally are! They may seem to have a matte finish, but to me these have more like a silky satin finish. There’s no visible shimmer but just to put it out that the finishing does reflect some light.

Super star standout is this Taupe Secret. This is the star of the show in this set. I love love love it!

They do dust a tiny bit, but comparing to other drugstore eyeshadows I’ve tried, this isn’t that bad. Lasting power is decent without primer, but nothing out of the ordinary.

If you’re looking for a budget makeup with neutral color eyeshadows, then these two are a must-haves.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these shades and how they worked for you?

Next is the I Love Colour Intensifying Eyeshadow Base. The formula is of light rose shade and it works to help eyeshadow long lasting and looking great all day.

The applicator is of doe foot applicator. The formula has very nice consistency and it blends quite nicely.

Look how pretty this swatch is? If you’re in the market for a long lasting and intense eyeshadow base for an affordable price, then look no further. This is made for you!

I’ve been wearing it for a week now and again today. I was out the whole day because it’s a good day for me. Out and about to just soaked in the sun. It’s a gorgeous day!  I’m thankful for today. Sorry I went a little off tangent but coming back to eyeshadow base, this is something I would recommend this to anyone who is new to makeup world and/or to friends who are a collector like myself.

Third is their Eye Pencil. It claims to be a long lasting and this makes me eager to put this to the test!

So, I’ve been trying it for a week now and I’m wearing it today. Really enjoy the dark black color it gives.

I’ve been obsessed with liquid liner for a long while. Honestly, I haven’t been wearing pencil liner for what seems ages. But when I saw this, it sure brings back sweet old memories. I’m excited to try it one more time. I can feel the butterfly feeling, it’s like of a lost love that returns, if you know what I mean.

Sorry about the photo. I couldn’t get the best lighting after sunset. It just refused to focus. Well, this are one of those days. Anywho, here’s a swatch of Black Fever. It glides on like butter with amazing formula.

If you’re in the market for an affordable drugstore everyday eyeliner pencil, that’s the way to go! I like to wear it on my tight lines. Gives my eyes more definition and depth.

I recently reviewed an eyebrow gel mascara by the brand and I’ve been getting lots of use with it. I love how the spoolie comb my brows without smudging. This is just another product that I always have in my makeup collection. I’m talking about this gel eyebrow that really works for me.

I’m happy that they named their polishes besides just numbering them. The packaging is so cute. I can say now that all these colors are something I know I’ll be reaching for them.

These nail polishes have very good formula. The consistency is just nice- it isn’t too runny or too thick. It goes on easily and I’ve these shades for a week with the top coat (when I tested the color swatches) and it only has a minimal chipping. So, I would say it’s reasonably long lasting. I’m quite impressed!

#44 ON AIR

I’ve been wearing this shade since boxing day and it’s been FIVE days and it’s still going strong. It’s just too pretty to take them off. No chipped at all with the Essence Gel Top Coat. Hurray!

It claims to give ultra long lasting gel shine and I agree with their claim.

I’m leaving you here with the color swatches.

There’s so many Essence products out there, I mean I feel like I could continue to talk about Essence products forever. I hope this gave you a feel if you’re new to Essence or help your feet wet with products that actually works.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post on what worked from the beauty drugstores.

Have you tried any polishes from this line? If not, what was your favorite nail polish shade?

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog. I hope to see you all again on my next post. Bye!

Sharon xoxo

Aveeno Huge Beauty Haul

Hi guys!

If you regularly read my content, you know by now I spend an extraordinary amount of time bathing. I may not wash my hair every single day but you better believe when I tell you that I’m going to spend some time in  my shower or bath. It’s how I unwind basically!

*Press Samples

On the days that have been slightly on the rough side, I’ve been reaching for a comforting body wash that is creamy, warming, and enveloping—like a hug from my honey bear.

So today, I’ve rounded up the best Beauty Haul by Aveeno that will hold up throughout your Thanksgiving feast. Yes, I’m talking about beauty skin products which was sent to me by Aveeno for considerations. As you may know, Aveeno is a personal favorite brand of mine and I’m pretty excited to try these products and more than excited to share them here.

So let’s get started.

Here are the latest in Aveeno huge beauty haul: Enjoy!

  1. Pure Renewal Shampoo
  2. Pure Renewal Conditioner
  3. Aveeno Baby Calming Comfort Lotion
  4. Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion
  5. Stress Relief Body Wash
  6. Aveeno Baby Calming Comfort Bath
  7. Moisturizing Bar
  8. Neutrogena Men Invigorating Face Wash
  9. Neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne
  10. Neutrogena Stubborn Acne Spot Gel
  11. Neutrogena All in One Makeup Removing Cleansing Wipes

The first thing I want to talk about is their Calming & Comfort Lotion in lavender and vanilla scents.

This lotion is designed to help calm babies and I would definitely wanted to use it for my little one before bedtime. Sleep is important but a good night sleep for me is everything. I’m sure a lot of mommy out there could agree!

These are all amazing products for anytime of the year and especially for those who have going to spend your hours prepping and cooking for Thanksgiving. The stress relief foaming bath and moisturizing lotion are something to help unwind and relax after the long day. One thing I can tell you is that they definitely have everyone in mind when they sent me products for baby and men in the family.

Aveeno Stress Relief Foaming Bath in lavender, charmomile and ylang-ylang oils. With thanksgiving and the big holiday approaching fast, I got stressed up just by thinking of the holiday. Shopping lists and Christmas preparation could be overwhelming sometimes.

Luckily, I’ve some stress relief to help me through the holidays. I can’t wait to get into the tub for a nice and relaxing bath.

I know that this product will made it’s way into my daily routine since Christmas holiday is usually hectic and I can imagine myself using this a lot to unwind. It says on the bottle that it hydrates for 24 hours and I’m intrigued to put this to the test. Let me know if you would like me do a post review on the comment section.

Another plus is that since we’re not spared from colder winter – lots and lots of moisturizer is necessary! Your skin is going to thank you later for it.

If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I’m a huge fan of body wash. I went through body wash very quickly. I’m very excited to try this stress relief body wash and see if it really works. I’ll report back for update in my next post. Don’t forget to stay tuned!

The body wash is formulated with lavender and chamomile which from what I heard is that lavender has the aromatherapy properties to help on stress relief.

Moving on is the Aveeno Baby Calming and Comfort Bath. I love the scents of lavender and vanilla. It’s so refreshing and soothing without going overboard. I’ll have my little boy try this bath product. He loves a good bath even in autumn and gets to play with the bubbles. I know that he is going to like it but I want to see his reaction to this product.

This might be TMI but in case you don’t know, I wash my hair every 2 other days. I haven’t tried any hair products from this brand, so yes I’m quite excited with the prospect. I’m happy to see that their Pure Renewal shampoo and conditioner are made for all hair types. That’s cool!

Let’s talk packaging. I really like the long green cylinder tube. It makes storing so much easier and convenient. It’s not too bulky or heavy. A good amount of products with amazing scents to it. They’re in full size samples and honestly, I was really blown away.

I know that I’ll be busy testing out most of the products by myself and will have my hubby try the product for men. I’ll do a separate product review once I’ve tried them. These are all products that I know I’ll be reaching out for when the holiday gets closer.

Next on the list is an interesting product which I’m dying to have my hubby try is this Invigorating Face Wash. He is not very interested in this department but I’m going to convince him to try it out anyways. I’m excited to hear what his thoughts are which then I’ll update right back once I got his feedback.

Makeup Removing Face wipes are one of the most important beauty must-haves for festivals and a little pocket-sized pack like this is perfect for travelling too. You get 25 wipes which is a good quality and talk about product that actually work. Well, this I could confirm it works because I’ve tried and love it!

Next is the Moisturizing Bar for Dry Skin. It contains natural colloidal oatmeal that combat dry and itchy skin. This soap would be great to use for winter season. I don’t usually use soap on my body but for you guys, I’m going to try it and let you know what I think next.

Last but not least, I want to show you Neutrogena Daily Leave on Mask and Spot Gel for Stubborn Acne. I’ve been lucky to have some good skin days in the summer but with the weather turning colder, my skin tends to be acting up. I’ll definitely be wearing this once I spotted a bad skin day.

These are a couple of drugstore gems that you got to check them out. They’re a prefect addition for my winter skin, hair and facial routine. All the products mentioned, you could find them at any drugstores, Walmart, Target US, CVS and on Aveeno’s website.

What do you think guys? Will you be checking these out soon? Comment below your reply. I love to read your comments.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog. I hope to see you all again on my next post. Bye!

Sharon xoxo

Promo Monday -Walmart Beauty Haul Products under $5

Hey guys! I’ve so many beauty products I want to show you today. It’s no joke! When I heard that Flower Beauty would be taken off Walmart Canada‘s shelf a month ago, I was pretty sad. Flower Beauty was a good quality brand. I really like their eyeshadows and brushes. For those of you who haven’t heard of Flower Beauty, their product is available at Walmart and it’s by Drew Barrymore‘s cruelty free brand.

So, long story short. I was back to Walmart shopping when I saw this. It’s a mixed feeling of bitter sweet happening. I was sad to see Flower Beauty go but other the other hand, was happy to see E.L.F. Cosmetics products now available at Walmart

And when I saw Flower Beauty makeup products were on liquidation, I could feel that I was on cloud nine. Seriously! Out of all the excitement, I picked up some of the products that I was dying to try.

Before I start, I want to tell you that this is going to be a long post – so, you might want to grab some chips and tea. So, let’s start.

I can’t believe that we’re actually in the fall. Could you? It’s already mid September and where are all the time go. Are you joking? By anyways, I’m so excited, I love fall so much. It’s chilly at night and it’s so nice.

Okay, I’ve so much to write about. So let’s start.

Okay you guys, first thing I got is their lipsticks. Ta…da!!! I actually have six tubes but one didn’t make it to this group photo. But I’ll do a review on all six shades once I’ve tried them all. I’m very excited for the fall colors of berry, wine and burgundy and the fact that this brand is cruelty free.

It’s the Kiss Stick Luxury Velvet Lip Color (white tubes) and Luxury High-Shine (black tubes) Lip Color on the right. I got three of each from both the formulas.

The shades for Velvet lip color are :- Petal Kiss, Rosey Garden and Get to the Poinsettia while the High Shine lip color I got is as follows – Cactus Flower, Tulips 2 Kiss You and Berry Bloom. Which shade would you  like me try first? Leave comment below.

If you’ve followed me on Instagram, you probably know what’s coming (yasss color swatches). Don’t forget to stay tuned for the upcoming review.

Next item I got are the Lip Gloss. I’ve them in the shades Baby’s Breath and Stop the Violets. I adore the white and rose gold case – so unique and feminine! I think they’ve the cutest packaging ever! The colors are so beautiful, I can’t wait to try it. It’s a soft pale pink and plum shade. And they’re super inexpensive.

I would love to grab more shades but these are what’s left on the shelf. I know that my sister would love it.

This is the first time I’d be trying out the BB Cream. The shade I got is in BB2 and it looks like  perfect shade for my skin toned. It comes in a squeeze tube packaging and the formula is creamy but not thick consistency, which is a plus for me. I prefer BB Cream that gives a sheer to medium finishing look but still hide the redness and imperfections.

It would be interesting to see how this wears. I’ll certainly keep you on the loop for it.

Next thing I got is the Zoom-In Ultimate Mascara in Brown Black. It comes in this fancy packaging and well, I’m a sucker for cute stuff – what can I say!

I was dang surprised with the packaging of this mascara. There’s this twist 3-in-1 applicator that works to lengthen, curl and thicken your lashes. I think this is a cool applicator that comes with not two but three functions. You could adjust the brush to however way you want your lashes to look. That’s ridiculously cool!

How it apply I don’t know yet but it will tell the tale?

I also got the Raise Some Brows in Light Brown. It’s a twist applicator that I really really love. This shade looks great on my brows and I’m happy camper. I tried it yesterday and I’ve been loving it since. This would probably be my first review post from this haul.

Next product I got here is the On Your Mark Liquid Eyeliner in Black. You know if you’re following me on my blog that I’m always on a hunt for a good liquid eyeliner. Don’t get me wrong, I like gel liner but I find liquid liner works much better for me, at least. well, I was so excited when I saw this and picked up two of the same shade.

I did a swatch but don’t really like it that much. I find the formula not pigmented enough and lack intensity. It looks gray and very light when I tried it on my hand. I posted a picture on my Instagram if you want to have a sneak peek for what comes next on my review.

If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I’m obsessed with eyeshadows and especially the palettes. Since Walmart has only the quads available, I grabbed two of these.

I really like most of the eyeshadows by Flower Beauty I had before and have been loving it. The formulation of the shadows are nicely pigmented and very smooth. These are pretty quads and did I mentioned that they’re mattes. I see these shadow quads perfect for the summer into fall transition quads. I going to try doing a smokey eye look with them and upload it on my Instagram. Review post would be up shortly after I’ve played enough. So, stay tuned!

I can’t wait to try my new quads in Smoke and Mirrors (on the right) and Twilight Moon, the quad on the left.

Now let’s move on to nail polishes. Yay! Super excited with the colors I picked up. They’re Pansy Shmansy, Budding Romance, Aster Place, Blue Bell of the Ball and  Made My Day.

If you follow my Instagram, you may have seen these nail polishes I posted on my Instagram. Since it’s fall, the first shade that crosses my mind is to pick the nail color that would goes well with the season. So, I got burgundy, purple, maroon and two random pastel shade nails. I’m so excited to paint all my nails in fall shades.

I hope this post helps anyone who is a fan of Flower Beauty. Click heart or comment if you like this Walmart Beauty Haul Products under $5. Until next time, have a nice day!

If you guys happened to see more of Flower Beauty liquidation products at your local your Walmart, tweet me. I’m obsessed and I couldn’t get enough of their products!

Thanks so much for stopping by to read.

Summer Drugstore Beauty Haul Under $5

Hey guys! So I’m bringing you a drugstore beauty haul under $5 today. I know that I haven’t done a haul for a long time. I know I’ve been slaking a little lately, but I’ll make up to you guys. The months of May and June passed with a blink of an eye and we’re already staring at July. I have a lot of beauty and makeup products waiting for me to try them out. I wanted to make sure to give each product a fair trial/test before sharing my thoughts and opinion for you guys. Well, at least that how I worked.

So, this summer drugstore beauty haul is all about Garnier products. I got these because they’re on sale and this also pushed me to get the products.

So, let’s get into it:

Though I have my mainstays (don’t we all?), I’m constantly trying out new products that come my way or catch my eye while perusing the beauty aisle. I can’t walk into Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart, drugstores or basically on the internet without buying some beauty products which I never intended to purchase. There’s always a hits or misses but some just stand out from the rest.

I do not have many facial  products from Garnier but when I saw all these were sold for less than $5.00 at the drugstore, I had to do a haul. I’m quite excited to try them actually.

The first product I got here is the Nourishing Cleansing Oil for Dry Skin by Garnier Clean. I got this for $2.96 on special. Regular price was $10.99 at Uniprix (Drugstore).

If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I’m obsessed with skin care products. I love trying out new products for you guys and everything is game.

The only negative thing about this product is the bottle that it comes in. I love the pump, but somehow the bottle always manages to leak a bit and leave oil behind on the counter. Not really a big deal, but if you are going to travel with it you should definitely pack in in a zip-lock bag or something. I would not take this with me for travelling since I can use the other products I have.

This Cleansing Oil I’ll put it on my vanity. I’ve tried it a few times to remove makeup and even the toughest, yes – I’m referring to waterproof eyeliner and mascara, would just came off easily. There are some oily feeling on skin when touched but you just cleansed it with their Smoothing Cream Cleanser I’m going to talk about below.

I love this stuff! I have combination skin, but it leans more on the side of dry, so this stuff is perfect for me. I will be re-purchasing when it runs out.

This Smoothing Cream Cleanser contains jojoba and macademia oils which is suitable for dry skin person. It gently cleans and restores softness to dry skin. I paid $2.96 when it was on sale.

It’s a little steep for drugstore cleanser at $10.99 on regular price but it’s totally worth it if you can get it on special deals.

I’ve several short trips for traveling next month and would definitely love to share with you what I’ll be bringing in my beauty bag.

Really am looking forward to try this one.

I really like that the formula is for dry skin. I’ve some uneven skin and dry skin around my nose area especially in winter. So, I’m hoping this will help.

Well, you can’t go wrong with this price at $2.96, right! Here is a closed up claims by Garnier. This Reparative Balm would be suitable for those who has very dry skin. You’d going to love this.

Since it’s summer now, I’ll have to keep it till winter when the weather gets drier for my skin. I’ll do a review once I’ve tried it for a good period of time. So, I’ll keep your guys posted.

I wasn’t in the market for a new moisturizer when I came across Garnier’s Pure shine control moisturizer, but it was on the clearance rack, so I thought to give this a try. Well, I’ve combination skin that tends to lean to the drier side but in summer, I noticed my skin is a little oily on my T-zone area.

So, this comes as a perfect product for me to test it for you guys who has oily skin. I honestly would say that you’ve to give it a good chance to see results as its effectiveness seems to build over the first few weeks with regular use but after about the 3rd week it’s doing a brilliant job for me and provides a good base for make-up as well.

I’m going to continue using it this summer and so far I’m loving it.

I guess this is kind of a Summer Haul but I managed to get a little bit of everything. Hope you enjoy this post!

So, that’s my thought process. If you haven’t explored the wonderful world of Garnier, you must check these awesome products yourself.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope to see you guys again on the next one. Bye!

Question Tuesday! Let’s Talk Mascara

mascara selections
by source

Question for you: What do you think makes for a good mascara? This is the question I asked myself when I’m testing out on mascaras for reviews.

Here is a few reason why you need a waterproof mascara and how it transforms our look. The last thing we want is to have a dreaded panda eyes, if you know what I mean.

We all know very well that mascaras can be clumpy, messy, claggy, flaky, too wet, too dry, plastic brush, curved brush, bristle brush. And for those of you who are new to makeup world, it’s important that you take note of this endless list of the fate of the mascara.

I think it’s crucial to know what works and what not in terms of performance and durability of a mascara sine I don’t think any of us wants big black dripping panda eyes before we even get off the bus on our way to work or for brunch with our blogger friends.

Comment below what’s on your mind and with wedding, holiday and hay fever season just around the corner finding the perfect waterproof mascara may well be on your mind, am I right?

Alrighty, so that’s pretty much it for today’s post! Hope to see you guys again on the next one. Bye!

Wet n Wild Matte Lipstick – Cruelty Free Beauty Product

I’ve talked about this Wet n Wild Matte Lipstick before and mentioned that I’ll repurchase it. Today, I like to share with you some of the products which I repurchased simply because I really love it.

I can find some good makeup products by Wet n Wild at my local Walmart

Here’s what I picked up:

Wet n Wild Matte Lipstick in Wine Room – is a gorgeous reddish pink tone. The formula works well with this shade.

Wet n Wild Matte Lipstick in Bare It All – this shade is of brown toned. Definitely a pretty neutral shade.

I especially like the shades of these Wine Room and Bare It All. These lipsticks are quite satin/matte to me. I noticed that it’s not the matte finish like those of drugstore lip cream. It’s very nicely pigmented — the color payoff is incredibly intense.

Matte lipsticks gives you noticeable color without the feeling of a heavy product on lips. My lips likes it feels comfortable and not too drying. This product allows you to apply more if you like, and the more vibrant the look becomes.

The formula is easy to apply. If I had to think of one bad thing to say about them, it would have to be that the packaging looks a little cheap. It tends to come off of the actual tube because there isn’t a secure fit. But snap out of it! These are gorgeous and they’re only $2.97! COME ON!

Here are the color swatches which I swiped on my bare-arm only once. The formula is smooth and easy to glide on. These lipsticks gives a nice velvety satin/matte finish, if you don’t like super matte lipsticks.

Overall, it’s good for the price. They’re matte and all they have a variety of colors to choose from so go get yourself some wet n wild lipsticks!! They do have a good color selection so there is something for everyone.

I’m being picky just to criticize, but at its price point, the quality of the lipstick itself has already exceeded my expectations, not to mention they’re cruelty free too.

Next up is this Milani Color Statement Lip Liner in Spice. I love Milani and love this lip liner. Lately, I have been reaching for Spice to wear underneath the Wet n Wild Bare It All matte lipsticks.

I love the packaging, it looks high-end! I also love that they’re priced under $5.00, sharpen nicely and look natural on the lips. So yay! It says on the packaging that it’s long wearing, easy to glide on and the formula could be used to line and fill the lips.

Milani liners are, as I mentioned, creamy, long lasting, and easy to sharpen. They’re made of wood (bonus if you dislike retractable liners) and are well pigmented. The color of spice is of brown nude tones.

The only thing that bothers me about this liner is that they only come in eight shades. Out of those eight, I could only see myself wearing maybe three. But I won’t let that stop me. And you ladies shouldn’t either. Mind you, the Milani brand is also on Leaping Bunny’s list.

Drugstore Impulse Buy

A color usually associated with cheeks and lips has migrated up to the eyes.  Because you can opt for warm or cool shades, subtle or bold, this is a universally flattering look even for Spring season.

If you’re up to use various shades of blue to create a more eccentric look. I’ve noticed recently that many drugstores have wearable blue colors makeup products to test the waters before committing to the look pun intended.

Remember I talked about the L’Oreal Color Infallible Single Eyeshadow in many previous post. I’ve linked an archive here so just hit it to hop over the full review.

I really love this infallible eyeshadow, it keeps me buying every shades in the collection. I’m starting to see myself to be Color Infallible eyeshadow collector, bhahaha!

The shades I picked up were All Night Blue and Bronze Divine. Very pigmented and true to its color. Amazing texture with effortless blending. Long lasting staying power and I didn’t see any fall out at all. I just love these awesome colors. So pretty!!!

You guys might have probably seen this blush stick before at the drugstores, Walmart, Target etc…  I like blushes but even more when it comes in a stick format. It’s convenient and wouldn’t break into thousand of pieces in case I accidentally drop it. I don’t know what gets into me to pick this dark mauve shade though. I got it in the shade Make a Mauve. Talking about impulse buy! You’re staring at one right here (giggling!). I’m making my move, what about you?

I got Color Sensational Lipsticks by Maybelline in two different colors. So, I’m going to give away one Pink Satin in my next giveaway contest.

I like the shades I got in Let Me Pink and Pink Satin. This formula is creamy and pigmented. It glides like butter, and my lips feels moisturized and comfortable. No tugging during application and it wears well. The color comes out opaque with a single pass.

I want to put this out that they do have a very subtle taste and fragrance which most Color Sensational Lipsticks have, it kinda reminds me of play-doh?!  Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of scented lip products so it’s a no go for me.

Which is your favorite makeup brands from the drugstore? Feel free to share your comments below.

Alrighty, so that’s pretty much it for today’s post! Hope to see you again on the next one. Thank you for stopping by.
