Japanese KOJI DOLLY WINK Liquid Eyeliners – REVIEW

Wow! Again, I can’t believe how fast another month has gone by. It’s only last week I celebrated my birthday. In this post, I wanted to give a shout out to my lovely daughter who knows me so well.

This is the best gift ever! She knows that I love Dolly Wink liquid liners and the rest is history. I couldn’t get enough of this liquid eyeliners ever since I tried it. This could be a very possible contestant for the Sharon’s Beauty Awards. And for me to receive three of my favorites Dolly Wink, I was so happy I almost passed out.

It’s the only liquid eyeliner that I will swear by. xD It’s fantastic! Keep reading to find out my entire thoughts about the eyeliner ~ It’s definitely a MUST HAVE eyeliner.

3 eyeliners

In case you’re not familiar with the product and its origin, Dolly Wink is a Japanese brand produced by the Japanese model Tsubasa Masuwaka, who represents the Gyaru trend which literally translates to gal in English. Dolly Wink is a brand presented by Koji as you can see on all their packaging.

DW liquid liner

I’ve this same liquid liner when my daughter first bought it back for me from Japan. I fell in love with it instantly. It’s exactly like the Kat Von D Tattoo eyeliner but so much better. Honestly, this is one of the best eyeliners I’ve ever used.

Love this eyeliner. The brush is so easy to work with, it goes on black and the thin brush allows you to create a perfect smooth lines and sharp winged liner sections a breeze. The formula is very long lasting and waterproof. I could tell you this is the only product that doesn’t smudge and stay on even when I’m crying my eyes out (when I get emotion) – LOL.

Dolly wink liquid liner

The shade I got is in Deep Black and although it’s not the blackest color I’ve seen, I can say it’s color is pigmented.

I really like the cute packaging of this eyeliner pen. The product comes in a pink color pen with golden ornaments all over and a black cap.

It makes my eyes look so flattering and bigger.

DW Pencil liner

Next I’ve the Dolly Wink Pencil Eyeliner in Black. A pencil type liner with a creamy soft touch. It’s break resistant and so easy to apply. As you know, I’m a sucker for cute packaging so this design is right up my alley. It’s so pretty and kawaii!!!

I’ve been holding off to trying any pencil liners for the longest time since I couldn’t find a real easy to blend pencil eyeliner that would glide on like a dream.

I did my first impression today (Sunday), and I’m in love with this liner. It’s so easy to use and I’ve no issues in drawing thin or thick lines. The color payoff is amazing and it gives a matte finish which I really appreciate.

Dolly Wink pencil liner

In the swatch above, the pencil eyeliner is matte while the liquid pen is glossy. If you’re into liquid eyeliner and likes to draw thin sharp lines, I think the first one is for you.

I try to smudge it on the above picture, I hardly rub it and so glad it stayed! It won’t budge at all. I wore it from morning till night time and it lasted me for a good 12 hours wear. Good news is that even though it’s waterproof, it’s easy to remove using warm water or the eye makeup remover.

So, for my first Dolly Wink pencil eyeliner (kohl) review, it’s a keeper in my makeup stash. I know I’m going to use it almost everyday.

Here’s the look: Line my upper lash line with the pencil eyeliner, pardon the not so good line here.

DW liquid liner No 1

Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Super Black packaging version is red color pen with golden ornaments all over. It’s so cute and looks expensive.

I love how the brush is very thin because it makes getting a precise line easy and simple. The tip applicator is identical to the Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Black. Making wings and cat eye liner is so, so quick with this eyeliner.

Dolly Wink No 1 Liquid Liner

Here’s a swatch of the colors. I really love how pigmented these eyeliners are.  They’re smudge proof and dries quickly as claimed but the best part is – you can easily removed it with just warm water. Forget the fuss of makeup remover. It comes off easily.

These eyeliners didn’t come cheap, it costs my daughter a whopping $45 for these three eyeliners. So based on the price of these eyeliners, they’re a pretty expensive eyeliner but Dolly Wink is a very popular brand in Japan so I’m not so surprised. Yes, they’re more expensive than the typical drugstore liquid eyeliner in the US but I promise they’re so, worth the price!

I highly recommend this brand if you’re into pencil eyeliners. Have you tried Dolly Wink Eyeliners?

And that’s all I’ve for now! Comment below if you’ve any suggestions or thoughts you’ve for my blog. I’m open to all your ideas!

I hope you all have a wonderful day/evening. I love you and take care!

Tester Wednesday – e.l.f. Jet Black Eyeliner

Hi guys!

I definitely had an “a-ha” moment while shopping for a liquid eyeliner at my local Walmart last weekend.

Could you tell now how much I love to do product reviews for you guys? All your comments and likes really encourages me to write better every time. As we transition from summer to fall, in my blog, you’ll see new series introduced here and there. So, keep checking back for new features. Alrighty! Enough of me blabbing, let’s get to the real stuff.

I was looking for a replacement liquid liner for my favorite LA Colors when I saw the e.l.f. eyeliner.  You might remember about a few weeks ago I did a post on Tester Wednesday series where I talked about their cream eyeliner. In it, I raved about how much I like the cream liner. Well, today I’m bringing in another eyeliner but in liquid form.

FYI, this is E.L.F. Cosmetics Jet Black Liquid Eyeliner in 0.15fl oz net wt. You can see here that the packaging comes in an elongated bottle with quite a user friendly handle and cute container. The applicator is of felt tip nip and is an okay size in my opinion.

The liquid liner has low pigment and applies okay but not over the top. It’s definitely not the best liner I’ve used from other drugstore brands. I find with a correct technique it dries to a nice black, but the formula is really runny and thin which requires you to wait for it to dry before going back to clean up your eyeliner or else it’ll streak. Much effort and work needed if you’re going for a simple look not to mention cat and winged eyes.

The reason it was happening was that the felt tip carries more product than is needed so it is difficult to handle it and smearing occurs. If you’re beginners, stay away from this product. It’s the most tricky liner I’ve tried thus far.

This liner is not waterproof and wears off super easily when in contact or rubbed with fingers. It doesn’t smear but just faded to almost zero formula.

Overall, I’m not happy with this product and I do not recommend this and will not reach out for it unless for emergency. It’s neither matte nor shinny finishing so to me, this one is a failure.

Are you a liquid liner girl? Comment below.

Lise Watier Gets Me Everytime

Anyways, here’s what I’ve bought the last couple of weeks. A lot of them have been purchases to try something new.

Here’s what I picked up and my review:

These are amazing eyeliners that are great for any occasions and looks. I think this might be my new everyday eyeliners with the Dark Blue to Smoky Green and Expression taking me from day to night.

Intense Waterproof Eyeliner – Vert Fumé in 664

Here’s the info about the liner from their site:

    • Fine and precise application
    • Ultra-pigmented and crease-resistant
    • 14-hour extreme-hold formula
In my own experience, here’s my summary:
  • They’re creamy and soft, they can line thin or thick
  • Glide smoothly
  • Long lasting
  • Price is a little steep
The packaging reminds me of the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil.
I noticed that not only did it go on smooth but it went on exactly the same color, didn’t fade away throughout the day either. I’m completely hooked, I never went a day without it.

Crayon Kajal – Noir Bleu in 71678

On site, it says “it’s specially formulated to highlight the inner line of your lower eyeliner”.

I used it on my eyelids and on my lower lash line as well and don’t have any problem applying it. It goes on easy and smooth glides which is awesome. I’ve sensitive eyes and this doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. They’re not messy and soothing for the eye. I prefer to wear this for evening out to get an extra dramatic look.

The formula is much of an eyeliner than the actual kajal pencil I’ve tried from the drugstore. I wore this on the lower lash line and I didn’t noticed any spreading or panda-esque effect. Would be prefect to do a smoky eye look with this product.

Comment below if you’ve heard the difference between kajal and kohl eyeliner? I love to heard what you think.

Color swatches from top to bottom: Expression (silver), Vert Fumé (smoky green))and Noir Bleu (dark blue)

Eye Shine – Expression in 41409

  • Long-lasting, waterproof formula
  • Smooth texture
  • Pearly finish

The Lise Watier comes in a much wider selection of colors, thirteen to be exact and it last and lasts and doesn’t smear and it’s easy to put on.

Here is the closed up look. I used the eye shine pencil on my lids as eyeshadow instead or liner. I then proceed applying with the kajal pencil in Noir Bleu for my top and bottom lash line. Honestly, I’m quite impressed with today’s #EOTD look. Not mean to boast but I really like it. Something so simple to create could gives such satisfactory result.

What do you think of this look?

lise watier eyeliners

Overall, it was a good switch from the regular everyday routine. It really wasn’t a big deal to switch from black/brown to a colored eyeliner in my opinion but do whichever floats your boat!

So, here’s the thing. Whether you’re on the quest to do a smoldering cat eye or defining your eyes or even perhaps you’re stepping out of your comfort zone. They should be your go-to for those perfect Cleopatra eyes and are perfect for when you want to go all out. If that make any sense to you.
This is such an easy way to try something new and add color to your beauty routine. I really love these liners and would recommend you check them out.

Have you tried this liner before? What was your experience? Have you found a liner that works on your waterline? Leave your comments below.

Thanks so much for stopping and hope to see you again on my next post.

Best Waterproof Drugstore Liquid Eyeliner – Review

Do we want a daring swipe of purple eyeliner or a sexy black cat eye? Regardless of the look we choose, we need the best eyeliners, from the perfect smudgy kohl to a precise, smudge-proof liquid liner, to get the job done, correct? I thought so too!

Question is can we get a great eyeliner without breaking the bank? And the good news is yes. Believe me if I told you that this cheap eyeliner don’t smudge or disappear on you, but it also is easily removed with eye makeup remover.

I have a hard time finding a good eyeliner that doesn’t smudge or smear from my lower lash line. And this doesn’t budge until I decide to wash it off. I’m quite satisfied with the eyeliner to say the least.

The answer I found is with this Wet n Wild  H20 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner I picked up recently from Walmart.

The product is long lasting, dark, affordable and easy to apply. Seriously what else could we want in an eyeliner? It’s soft and I like this thin felt tip brush, not to mention a good consistency in the color. Quite an impressive eyeliner if you want to create a cat eye look.

Here is a closed up look of the thin felt-tip. I like the fact that Wet n Wild’s products are cruelty free and the price is affordable for a drugstore brand. Last thing I wanted to mention is if you are planning to head over to the pool or beach this summer, this liner is an eye saver! A waterproof eyeliner that works. No smudging! You can say goodbye to the messy dreaded panda eyes.

A thin stroke tip makes it easier to create a winged eye.

Overall, I think this product is amazing especially considering the price.

So, what are you waiting for? I think it’s time to say goodbye to smudged raccoon eyes and having to reapply at noon, and hello to these eyeliners that are colorful, cheap and long lasting. Problem solved!

Thanks to all for stopping by to read and comment.

Anyway, that’s it from me for now. Talk soon.:) Bye!

Beauty Bandit: Wet n’ Wild Kohl Eyeliner

When I found out that they brought this kohl eyeliner at my local Dollar store for $1.50,  I made sure that this made this way to my shopping cart.

This set is definitely a steal! What I really like about this eyeliner is it’s super pigmented. It’s as vibrant as the actual pencil is. Available in nine color icon shades at selected drugstores, Walmart, Target and online.

Wet n’ Wild is a cruelty free drugstore brand and if you’re animal conscious person, look for Wet n Wild products. Make sure to check the bunny logo behind the packaging when you shop.

This pencil has really good staying power and won’t budge that sometimes it’s a pain taking them off. You would really need a good MAKEUP REMOVER because soap and water just won’t cut it

The Baby’s Got Black eyeliner is excellent for more gothic look or you just want that pop of Black in your eyes. They’re good by itself for those lazy days or paired up with your favorite eyeshadow combinations. Look picture below.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The eyeliners are very soft and has a creamy formula, but surprisingly, it doesn’t smudge or budge. Also, since the eyeliners are soft and creamy, application is easy because it just glides. Perfect to use for tight line.

It’s so affordable, pigmented, and stays on all day! The pencil doesn’t need to be sharpened too often and it’s huge! Definitely recommend.

What was YOUR first wet n’ wild eyeliner color? |I love to hear your comments.

eyeliner by prestige

Classic Khol Eyeliner Pencil by Prestige Cosmetics. Net wet: 0.04 oz for $3.95 at online website. You can find this brand at Ulta or London Drugs and some selected Canadian drugstores at Shoppers Drug Mart, Jean Coutu and Uniprix.

I picked up mine at Uniprix while I was there to get my prescription drugs. I’ve several of these eyeliners by Prestige in different colors and I’m pleased to say that it has perform well as an eyeliner in my opinion.

This eyeliner is a beautiful, Brown. While it seems not my typical eyeliner color, I have worn it in place of my typical black eyeliner for a few days and have found it to be gorgeous.

The formulation is fairly creamy on the eye. While I think it could glide on a bit easier, it is still a fairly good texture. You can use it for smokey eye makeup which I’ll show you in this post.

It’s not bad for the price, and there are plenty of traditional and funky colors available, but it needs sharpening which is the only downside I noticed.

I really like how it glides without resulting in tugging or pulling on your lash line.

That concludes my review today. Hope you liked this post and find it interesting.

Which is your favorite color eyeliner apart from the typical black liner? I love to hear your comments in the section below.

Winged Eyeliner For Beginners 101

Okay, I got to put this put for all my friends here that some of you may know that I’m no beauty artist by profession but I love talking about beauty and obsessed with makeup.

Winged Line has got to the most unpredictable thing in makeup. You never know what shape you’ll end up with. One wrong move & you’ll have to think of ways to make it look right. I thought I’d share with you how I’ve been doing mine, because I think it’s almost mistake-proof. I’ve received many compliments from friends who commented on my winged liner over the past few posts. I wanted to express my thanks, you know who you are. This is how Winged Eyeliner for Beginners 101 begins.

This post is for anyone and everyone who wants to learn how to do a winged liner. Doing a winged liner is pretty tricky at first but once you’ve mastered it, it’ll come to you naturally.

By the way, this is how I lined my eyes in the Starlooks Pro Luxe Longwear Eyeliner Pen. It’s a sample product which I received from my August Ipsy Glam Bag. You can use any liquid eyeliner pen for that matter.

winged liner starlook

So, here’s a step-by-step tutorial:

  1. Apply eyeshadow on lid. Here I used a pink fuchsia shade on lid and purple on the crease. Start by using the eyeliner to draw a thin line on the outer corner as shown on picture on the far right. Like so.
  2. Then lining from center of lid towards the outer corner, stop after drawing 1/2 ” or so- as shown.
  3. Continue to line straight out. Make sure the end doesn’t exceed the end of your eyebrow tail.
  4. Now join from the outer end and bring it into the middle lash line of your eye.
  5. Line the rest of your eye starting from center to the inner corner. Try to make it thinner as it goes in.
  6. Time to fill inside the lines now& tightline the inner part of your eye now, so there’s no visible gaps.
  7. DONE!

winged eye liner tutorial

Winged Eyeliner Final Look.

It’s up to you whether you want to line the lower lash line or not. I prefer not to do it. Lastly, I applied mascara on top & bottom lashes. But if you like, continue with your favorite falsies. Et voila! Hope this helps.

Quote taken from Melt Cosmetics “If you can handle liquid liner. You can handle anything life throws at you”.

What do you think of this winged eyeliner tutorial. Is this helpful. I love to hear your comments.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read.

Question Tuesday|Eyeshadow or Eyeliner First?

by source
by source

Hey gorgeous! Happy Tuesday to all of you. Since you’re already here, might as well let’s jump straight onto this week’s Question Tuesday.

It’s a beauty related question and I want you to think carefully on this one when answering. Well, there is no right or wrong answer but mostly depending on your personal style.

Q:  Do you apply your eyeshadow or eyeliner first? Please explain why on the comment section below.

A: I for one apply eyeshadow before my eyeliner. For me, it’s more like a finishing touch and I don’t have to worry that the formula gets onto my eyeliner.

What do you think of this question? I love to hear all of your comments.

Thank you so much for participating and for stopping by ❤

Wet n Wild Cruelty Free Eyeliner Pencil

Hey beauties,

Guess what I happened several days ago at Walmart? I was planning to try on the Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeliner Pencil  but since I was in a rush I accidentally picked up the Wet n Wild Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil instead. I read Color Icon and just pick it but didn’t read the shimmery part 😦 I realised it only after I tried it on.

wnw shimmer eyeliner pencil

I got mine in 154 Black with net wt: 0.03 oz for $1.87 on sale price at Walmart.

This shimmer liner is rich and creamy in formula. It glides like butter on my lash line and it blends effortlessly. But when I looked closer I noticed my eyes were shimmering. The thing is that I’ve sensitive eyes but I’m surprised that this eyeliner doesn’t irritate my eyes like some eyeliner general do especially when it comes with glitter.

If you have been following my blog, you know the meaning of the bunny logo. Yes, it means it’s Not tested on animals which translate to cruelty free. Wet n Wild is a drugstore brand which participate in the cruelty free program. This is a new formulated color icon that has such great pigmentation and is fortified with vitamin E acetate to offer long lasting color.

In this shimmer color icon eyeliner category, there are four shimmery shades available. These eyeliners are not expensive at all and work really well. The downside is there’s only a few shades to choose from and you need to sharpen this pencil.

In my opinion, I feel that the texture of this color icon liner feels like the kohl pencils which I love. And as far as the pigmentation goes, I’ll say it vary from shade to shade, for instance Black is not an intense black but soft black. But when i put it on, it feels very pigmented and creamy.

Available at any drugstores, Walmart, ebay, walgreen and Wet n Wild online website. For only less than $2.00 I think it’s extremely affordable way to experiment with colors and try some shades you wouldn’t wear. If you’re looking for an eyeliner that bedazzle your eyes without been irritated by the glitters then you’ll like this Wet n Wild Color Icon Shimmer Eyeliner ❤

Overall, I wouldn’t mind picking this Black Shimmer Eyeliner at all. I wouldn’t have pick it if it wasn’t by mistake and I’m glad I did.

Do you already own any Color icon Shimmer Eyeliners? I’d love to hear from you! Don’t forget to leave your comment below.

Thank you for taking the time to read 🙂

Stila In the Know Palette|Review|Swatches

Hey lovelies!

For the past three weeks it has been fun and a learning curb for me to be experiencing all these four awesome palettes by Stila. I will put a link down below of all my previous reviews on Stila eyeshadow palettes in case you like to go back to read them. So, don’t forget to check them out. I would definitely say I love all the palettes for their amazing discounted price and beautiful shadows ❤

So, today’s star of the week is Stila In the know eyeshadow palette. I’ve heard many amazing things about this palette and was feeling inspired by my good friend, Ingrid from curlyspringblossom – I ‘m excited to share my reviews with you guys.. You guys know that I really love a good eyeshadow palette ❤

stila in the know

The simplicity of this palette is itself sleek and thin. It has a decent sized-mirror on the top lid. I love the how-to booklet and I think this is super helpful tool for those in need of extra inspiration when it comes to all these beautiful matte shades. Like all its predecessors the packaging is the same except the color on the exterior and of course the interior eyeshadows. The special offer is at $20.00 until stock lasts.

stila eyeshadow know

These eyeshadows can be used wet or dry. The eyeshadows are interesting and I can’t wait to try them on wet application using these matte shades.

stila eyeliner

Apparently Stila really likes to be in a lot of things. In the moment, In the light, In the garden and now comes in the know. The palette comes in a muted earthy shades with the exception of Fire the only shade that stands out the most and a full sized waterproof smudge stick eyeliner.

stla eyeliner

Stila waterproof smudge stick eyeliner in Halfmoon is in deep blue-ish grey with a shimmer. From a far it looks like a regular grey but up close you can see the blue-ish grey which is pretty to compliment the other earthly shades. The quality of this eyeliner is amazing and the formula waterproof tight. It stays put and won’t budge or fade after wearing the whole day.

The shades include:-

Top row L-R:

Previous eyeshadow palette reviews:-

Overall, I think this is a pretty nice matte eyeshadow palette. Not the best that I’ve come across but acceptable pigmentation and texture for sure. I like the fact that this matte eyeshadow can be wore wet which I seldom do but it will be nice to try. Also, the eyeliner is of excellent quality and I’m glad to have collected four palettes in my makeup stash.

What do you think of this earthly toned eyeshadow palette? Leave comment below. I love to read your comments 🙂

As always, thank you for taking the time to read. Have a great day!

March 2015 Eyeliner Favorites

Hey lovelies,

It seems like March passes by so quickly that before I know it. It’s April already, huh! Well, it’s still cold out but let’s raise the temperature up a bit here. For my March favorites, I’m going to share my top 3 eyeliners with you all instead of the all my makeup favorites. I have been trying many new eyeshadow palettes and did many reviews in my previous posts and so instead of doing a repeat on my favorites I figured that I have not talk about my eyeliners yet. So, this is a good time to share three of my favorite eyeliners.

3 best liners

Annabelle Smoothliner in Brown with net wt: 0.04 oz. This is the smoothest eyeliner I have tried so far. It’s creamy and it glides so smoothly. The texture is soft and it gives a very beautiful dark bold line which I love. This smoothliner is waterproof and you guess it right …. it’s long lasting too. It comes with seven different shades to make your eyes looking elegant.

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Damsel with net wt: 0.01 oz. If you have been following my posts, then you have seen my reviews on the Stila EYESHADOW palette which I touched on surface reviews of the smudge sticks. I have been wearing this smudge stick everyday for the past weeks and I really enjoy the color and the long lasting power. I’m able to draw in precision with this it. It’s comes in a retractable pencil style packaging which in my opinion is a good thing. I don’t need a sharpener on this one for sure 🙂  Available in 28 different shades that will wow your eyes. This Damsel in black is soft and richly pigmented – it makes gliding so much easier.

NYX Retractable Eye Liner in 10 Gray with net wt: 0.01 oz. I have many favorites when it comes to waterproof eyeliner and this Nyx is of no exception. I got this gray shade from Target and I love it when I’m doing a smoky eyes look. I’m able to use it to blend and the formula is close to kohl pencil. There are 18 other intense colors that makes you want every one of them. I’m going to get Gypsy Blue and Brown for my summer collection. By the way, this eyeliner is cruelty free. Yay!!!

What do you think of my March favorite eyeliners? Have you any of what I have mentioned above? Love to hear your comments what you think.

I hope you find this interesting and helpful. Thumbs up if you like this post. Until next time, stay gorgeous!

Thanks for stopping by.

Sharon xoxo
