1 Brand No Fuss FOTD – COLOURPOP

Hi guys! It’s been raining outside so it’s dark, gloomy and cozy morning as I sat down in front my laptop to write this post. I don’t know about you but I’m elated when it rains. I love listening to the sound of the falling rain. Is it just me or anyone else like it too?

I’m bringing back 1 brand No Fuss #FOTD today. I actually have a lot of requests to either redo an old 1 brand makeup post or feature new brands that I haven’t features before. I did a Colourpop haul and I nearly get everything I need to create this” No fuss” face of the day!

Products Used:

I’m not doing a full makeup tutorial so I skip the process of applying foundation and concealers. I prep my face with Positively Ageless SPF 30 moisturizer by Aveeno and then I go ahead to apply the BB cream from Lab Story which is my current favorite. They’re honestly the best I’ve tried. If you’re curious to learn more, simply click here for more detailed review.

The first thing I gravitated towards were the eyeshadows. I absolutely love all of these shades. They’re warm toned and perfect for everyday wear.

  • Paradox – warm satin burgundy red
  • Seeker –  warm matte reddish brown
  • Jinxie – soft pearlized gold
  • Elixir – matte terracotta

My favorites has to be Paradox, Seeker and Elixir. These kind of shades are always my favorite because they make my eyes pop. It’s nicely pigmented and easy to apply. It doesn’t fade or crease throughout the day.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

First I apply Elixir on my crease and blend it nicely. Then I go on applying Paradox on the lids. With the same color I smudge it out on my under eye area. I used Seeker for the outer corner while Jinxie on the inner corner and on the brow bone.

A water-resistant Crème Gel in Bangin’ Brunette in true brunette brown. Packaging is a cute glass jar with white screw on the lid, and I’ve always loved ColourPop’s holographic logo.

That aside, I really like the formula of this cream gel. The consistency is great, it’s creamy and easy to use. A little goes a LONG way with this.  It slides smoothly and sticks to the skin. I’ve black hair and the shade “Banging Brunette” is perfect for me. I’ve no intention of switching for now.

  • First of, with Dope Taupe brow pencil spoolie I brush my brows up, used light and small strokes to outline the shape and when I’m satisfied with the shape I want, I got ahead to fill in any empty spaces or sparse areas with the Brow Colour Crème Gel in Bangin’ Brunette.
  • As for my wing, I used Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Black since I misplaced the Creme Gel liner I got from Colourpop.
  • I didn’t use mascara for this look since I’m going for the “no fuss” makeup #FOTD”.

This Brow Pencil is in the shade Dope Taupe. Each pencil is double-ended, with the pigment on one side and a spoolie on the other, leaving you with no excuse to not blend your color and brush your brows into shape. So brilliant!

Note that I barely pressed down on my hand with this pencil and you can totally see  a nice color payoff from it. It has a nice pigmentation and glide on amazingly.

It’s a spoolie that combs and brush very well.

Next is the Super Shock Cheek blush in the shade Quarters. Quarters is described as a mid-tone dusty coral in a satin finish. This blush comes in a circle plastic container with a twist-up cap. I find the texture of the blush very soft and almost creamy. It’s super soft to the touch and I feel like if I press my finger on the pan, it will leave a deep dent.

Fingertips will provide the highest amount of coverage. Color builds from natural-looking flushed look to more intense bright looks. This blush is very pigmented and buildable. Build to your heart’s desire!

I love Colourpop and I love this pretty shade. Perfect everyday color to wear this summer.

This is part of their Lippie Stik line. The shade I got is in Cami Matte X and it’s described as cool toned mauve. The packaging is of a white, slim and it’s a crayon lipstick.  It’s a crayon lipstick but it’s not the typical pointed tip. It’s actually slanted as you can see on the photo below.

The formula of this lipstick itself is amazing. It’s super creamy and super pigmented. One swipe is all you need.  There are different finishes of the Lippie Stix but Cami Matte X comes in matte. Longevity as you may have guessed is unbelievable!

If you’re a matte lover, I think you’ll be really impressed with these textures. I’m loving this pretty shade and the formula.

These are intensely pigmented and apply evenly. Application is incredible and so is the opacity. It also doesn’t feel anywhere near as dry as the other brands I’ve. It feels comfortable on the lips. I love it so much that I want a few more… hahaha!

I use my fingers to pack the color on the cheeks. I just use it lightly and it can last up to 5 hours.

This is the finish look. Hope you enjoyed this “no fuss” face of the day! I really like the way everything came together. While this look is fun and has pops of color, I think it is still very wearable.

Conclusion, you just can’t go wrong with Colourpop makeup products. I think it’s a must-buy   If you enjoyed this post, don’t forget to give it a thumbs up or comment. Let me know your requests for future 1-brand “No Fuss” looks!

Have you picked up anything from this brand lately? Did you know that Colourpop is bunny approved. Meaning they test their products leaving fur babies to be fur babies, they’re cruelty free?

Thank you so much for stopping by to read. If you did enjoy this post definitely follow my blog. I hope you come to check on my social media down below. Make sure you are following me on Twitter and Instagram (@heysharonoox) for the latest update. In the meantime come and say hi! I’ll see you on my next blog, bye!

Tester Wednesday: Fortune Favors The Brave : Review, Photos & Swatches

Hey guys! Welcome back to Tester Wednesday. It has been a while since I talked about Makeup Revolution (MUR) beauty products. I ordered a few palettes online a few months ago and had been putting all these goodies on the back burner. Well, better late than never right!

So, today I thought I’ll share my first impression review on this beautiful palette. This palette is quite special because it was created in collaboration with Jane Cunningham.

This is her palette that she’s been working on with Makeup Revolution and had finally launched it last March.

This palette retails for £9.99 which is a great price value for a drugstore brand. Why did I say that? Continue reading and you’ll find out why.

Let’s talk about packaging for a second. It comes in a matte gold which makes it look much more luxurious and houses 30 eyeshadows, large mirror which I really appreciate and a simple dual-ended eyeshadow brush.

This is a 30 pan palette. I really love the color selections she created. The shadows are for everyone, irrespective of age or tone according to Jane.

I like that she added four baked eyeshadows in the mist of all these amazing color shadows. They’re super pigmented and very metallic. Looks so pretty all over the lids. Love love this!

Here’s what you’ll find in Fortune Favors The Brave palette. You got light sheen and mattes, metallic bursts of color heading through to the darkest shades of black, plum and navy.

All the shades have names which are printed on a plastic sheet. Nope! I’m not complaining at all, I like to see that effort being pour in naming these shadows. Win in my book!

I’m most excited to show all these gorgeous color swatches down below.  All swatches are with one swipe directly from pan without primer.

Row 1: Glimmer, Buffer, Peachy, Hope, Fortune, Skylight, Transformer, Midnight Rainbow – the middle Hope and Fortune are my favorite shades

Row 2: Ice Cloud, Golden Coins, Cashmere, Tip Top,  Green Machine, Smoothie

Row 3: Caffeine Fix, Latte, Pink Diamond, Creme, Drama Queen, Lonely Planet, Blacqua.

Row 4: Soft, New World, Favour, Sunset Hour, Super Gold, Winning, Brave, The Revolution – and at the end Winning, Brave and The Revolution are also some of my favorite shades in this palette .

Here’s a quick eye look I created.

The overall quality of the eyeshadows is good. There are some less pigmented shades like Glimmer, Peachy, Midnight Rainbow, Tip Top, Smoothie, Latte, Crème, Soft and Pink Diamond which require a bit more work and building up to get a desire intensity. Other shades are smooth and well pigmented. They’re easy to blend and they stay all day without bulging on eyeshadow base I wore for this first impression review.

I highly recommend it if you’re on the market for an affordable and good quality product from a drugstore brand. Overall, I’m quite impressed with the wear time and happy with the look. It performs well and I got nothing bad to say about this palette honestly. It’s a versatile palette that would look gorgeous for anyone.

I love that MUR is accessible to everyone on price point with no loss on quality. Best thing is that you can get this at Amazon, ebay, Ulta and Superdrug stores.

So what do you think of the ‘Fortune Favours The Brave’ palette? Comment what you think. I love to hear from you.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog. I hope to see you all again on my next post. Stay tuned for more popped up makeup products which I’m so excited to show you guys. Bye!

Tester Wednesday Minimalist Makeup| Elf Cosmetics

Another  Wednesday, another Tester Wednesday! Every week, I’ll share with you products I’ve tested. It could be new products, rediscovered makeup brand or best or worst products before hitting the bin. These last few days have just flown by for me and I’m hoping the weekend won’t feel as quick.

Anyways, have you shopped at Walmart lately? I’ve bits and pieces of products from Elf to talk about in today’s tester Wednesday.

This week, I want to talk about Elf makeup products which I picked up about a week ago.

I got the Cream Eyeliner in Black and HD Undereye Setting Powder in Sheer.

Let’s start with their Cream Eyeliner first!

Now some time ago, I tried the Maybelline Gel Liner and I just didn’t care for it. That’s part of the reason I held out on trying this e.l.f liner for so so long. I could order it online but decided not too. I’m really excited to see a good selection of products at Walmart Canada. So, this is the first cream eyeliner I have purchased from e.l.f and I absolutely like it but not love love! If you know what I mean? It lasts for a really long time without having it smudge or faded. So ya, I’m happy the way it makes my eyes look bigger!

At the beginning,  I’ve some difficulty doing winged eyeliner with the brush. Too bad the brush is really small and I find it hard to control, otherwise the brush would be perfect. Definitely need some work to perfect a winged eye and I suggest to use your own brush.

It does goes nice and smooth and I really like the formula. It dries up pretty fast and once it sets, it’s a little harder to remove. If that makes sense.

I honestly think that this is not a product for someone who is new to makeup. I do feel that the product is good but you definitely need much more practice to get a perfect wing. Secondly, I would like to see some improvement on the pigmentation department. Don’t get me wrong, I really like this product but it definitely could get some extra pigmentation that includes darker black formula could hit the mark.

I personally find this cream liner works best if you’re planning for a bold pop evening look (a bit thicker stroke). It seems thinner stroke doesn’t cut it as I would’ve expected. It definitely a good liner if your planning on doing a winged or cat eye look.

Can you tell, can you tell!

Capture 2

Overall, I think the quality of this product is pretty decent for what it’s worth. For this price, you can’t possibly go wrong with it.

The new Elf High Definition Undereye Setting Powder in Sheer/Transparent with net wt: 0.04 oz.

It BLURS my dark circles under my eyes like no one’s business. “Blur” is really the right word to use with this product, as that is really what it does. The formula is super fine and silky like. Such a soft and smooth texture that I can apply them everywhere. Okay! Not everywhere but all over my face.

Elf High Definition Undereye Setting Powder kinds reminds me of a cross between Laura’s version and Benefit’s. This is a translucent pinkish powder with a hint of shimmer which is a bit brightening, and has a thinner consistency of silica powder.

The glass jar packaging is quite nice and for CAD$3.97 only at Walmart, I suggest you to give it a try. Did I mentioned that it comes with a brush for application? Well it does but I still prefer using my own brush to set.

The thin powder doesn’t crease into fine lines on your undereyes. It sort of blur them out nicely. Another benefit of this product is that it sets your concealer for longer wear. Hurray!

E.L.F. product is cruelty free in case you want to know.

Conclusion! I dare say this is a cheap thrill product that’s worth picking up!

Thank you guys for stopping by!

Lise Watier Gets Me Everytime

Anyways, here’s what I’ve bought the last couple of weeks. A lot of them have been purchases to try something new.

Here’s what I picked up and my review:

These are amazing eyeliners that are great for any occasions and looks. I think this might be my new everyday eyeliners with the Dark Blue to Smoky Green and Expression taking me from day to night.

Intense Waterproof Eyeliner – Vert Fumé in 664

Here’s the info about the liner from their site:

    • Fine and precise application
    • Ultra-pigmented and crease-resistant
    • 14-hour extreme-hold formula
In my own experience, here’s my summary:
  • They’re creamy and soft, they can line thin or thick
  • Glide smoothly
  • Long lasting
  • Price is a little steep
The packaging reminds me of the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil.
I noticed that not only did it go on smooth but it went on exactly the same color, didn’t fade away throughout the day either. I’m completely hooked, I never went a day without it.

Crayon Kajal – Noir Bleu in 71678

On site, it says “it’s specially formulated to highlight the inner line of your lower eyeliner”.

I used it on my eyelids and on my lower lash line as well and don’t have any problem applying it. It goes on easy and smooth glides which is awesome. I’ve sensitive eyes and this doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. They’re not messy and soothing for the eye. I prefer to wear this for evening out to get an extra dramatic look.

The formula is much of an eyeliner than the actual kajal pencil I’ve tried from the drugstore. I wore this on the lower lash line and I didn’t noticed any spreading or panda-esque effect. Would be prefect to do a smoky eye look with this product.

Comment below if you’ve heard the difference between kajal and kohl eyeliner? I love to heard what you think.

Color swatches from top to bottom: Expression (silver), Vert Fumé (smoky green))and Noir Bleu (dark blue)

Eye Shine – Expression in 41409

  • Long-lasting, waterproof formula
  • Smooth texture
  • Pearly finish

The Lise Watier comes in a much wider selection of colors, thirteen to be exact and it last and lasts and doesn’t smear and it’s easy to put on.

Here is the closed up look. I used the eye shine pencil on my lids as eyeshadow instead or liner. I then proceed applying with the kajal pencil in Noir Bleu for my top and bottom lash line. Honestly, I’m quite impressed with today’s #EOTD look. Not mean to boast but I really like it. Something so simple to create could gives such satisfactory result.

What do you think of this look?

lise watier eyeliners

Overall, it was a good switch from the regular everyday routine. It really wasn’t a big deal to switch from black/brown to a colored eyeliner in my opinion but do whichever floats your boat!

So, here’s the thing. Whether you’re on the quest to do a smoldering cat eye or defining your eyes or even perhaps you’re stepping out of your comfort zone. They should be your go-to for those perfect Cleopatra eyes and are perfect for when you want to go all out. If that make any sense to you.
This is such an easy way to try something new and add color to your beauty routine. I really love these liners and would recommend you check them out.

Have you tried this liner before? What was your experience? Have you found a liner that works on your waterline? Leave your comments below.

Thanks so much for stopping and hope to see you again on my next post.

Question Tuesday| How do you clean off your false eyelashes?

eye lashes.jpg

Q1: How do you clean off your false eyelashes so they can be re-used? I dunk my sponge in my eye makeup remover and then gently clean.

Q2: How do you know when it’s time to throw out the lashes?

My tip is to toss them out if:

  • the lashes start falling off them you clean them
  • the outer lashes start pointing in a different direction
  • straying from the pack
  • if the lashes feel brittle and aren’t straight & smooth
  • or if they look downright nasty

Hope you enjoyed reading this post today. Until next time, keep smiling.

Kat Von D Innerstellar Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! Nice to see you guys in my blog.

I recently featured quite a bit of eyeshadow palettes and this reminds me that I still have several palettes to go through or at least tried for a review.

It features transformative matte and shimmer shades in Kat Von D’s signature, high-pigment eyeshadow formula.

Top 3 from left to right:  gravitron – vast – lycan

Second row from left to right:  night crawler – dios – lunacy – astrological – darkstar – orion – 3am – moonshine – killing moon

This Innerstellar is notably a cool toned palette. I really love the shades but the formula doesn’t seems to wow me as much. You see, I’ve warm under toned and cooler shadows sometimes just didn’t cut it. If you’re cool-toned person, you’re going to enjoy this more than I do.

The texture of the eyeshadows, on the whole, was soft, finely-milled, and smooth. There were a couple that were a little powdery, but some were really easy to work with.

Here are the color swatches of Innerstellar:

Top to bottom:

Gravitron is a cool-toned, iridescent pink-white with lilac shimmer.

Vast is a muted, medium taupe brown with a subtle, gray tint and a soft, frosted finish.

Lycan is a bright, yellow-toned, creamy white with a matte finish.

There are only two shadows (lycan & kiling moon) in this palette with matte finish, while the rest are either metallic or shimmery finishing. They blend easily on lids which is awesome. I don’t find any problem with applying and blending.

Color Swatches from top to bottom:

Killing Moon is a deep black with a matte finish and neutral undertones. The texture is a little dry but it doesn’t seems powdery.

Moonshine is a brightened silver with a metallic sheen. I find the texture for this shade to be smooth and fairly pigmented. It does kick up some powder, I just to put it out there for you guys.

3AM is a brightened, light-medium warm taupe brown with a frosted, metallic finish. The texture is soft and has great color payoff.

Orion is a medium-dark brown with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It feels silky and finely-milled. I would hope that it’s a little darker to fit this palette selection better. I find the shade to be a little weak compared to the other rest of the shadows.

Darkstar is a deep, gray taupe with a metallic sheen. Best pigmentation and creamy. I can say that this is my favorite color after Moonshine.

Astrological is a bright lavender with a subtle golden sheen. The texture is soft and pretty. Very decent pigmentation.

Lunacy is a medium-dark, cool-toned purple with a frosted sheen. I find the texture ran a little drier but it has good color payoff.

Dios is a muted, silver-shimmered dark gray with bluish tones and a soft, satiny finish. It a little powdery and drier but I’m not overly concerned with it since it blends well on the outer v.

Night Crawler is a cool-toned, taupe with strong gray tones and a satin finish. Very nice pigmentation and it went on smooth and easily. An everyday shade I would reach for.

Here is a quick eye makeup look from the shadows I used:.

Browbone – Lycan

Lids – Orion

Crease – Astrological

Outer corner – Lunacy

Inner corner – Gravitron

Under eye – Lunacy

Center eye – Moonshine (to make eyes look more popped)

What do you think of this palette? Which KVD is your favorite? I love to hear your comments.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read. I’ll see you again on the next one!

Have a great day everyone! Bye!

Pride+Prejudice+ZOMBIES By Bh Cosmetics

Hey guys!

Have you watched the comedy horror film “Pride & Prejudice & Zombies”? The horror film is based on the 2009 novel where “in the 19th century, a mysterious plague turns the English countryside into a war zone. If you haven’t, you can watch it on Netflix.

I was very excited when they first launched the Bh Cosmetics Pride & Prejudice & Zombies makeup collections.

Fall in love and fight with zombies killers from Bh Cosmetics! Continue to read on …

Here are the ingredients on the back of the packaging. Oh yes, can you spot the bunny? That’s the cruelty free logo where you know the brand do not tested their products on animals.

You get twelve beautifully pigmented eyeshadows, a highlighter and two blushes from this palette. There are a mixed of matte and shimmery shadows.

I love the interior as much as the exterior. It’s all matte black with glossy black motifs and a quote from the movie/book printed in gold under the mirror. I find the design to be quite elegant.

“I shall never relinquish my sword for a ring”

– Elizabeth Bennet

These eyeshadows are clearly separated into two parts. The top row being warm tones while the bottom being cooler tones. There are four mattes and eight shimmer in this palette.

I went to divide these shadows to three quads as shown below:

Quad 1:

Quad 2:

Quad 3:

Swatches you see here are made without primers with single swipes. Each are beautifully pigmented. If I have to choose the lowest pigmentation among all the rest, I’ll say the 1st shades on the top and bottom rows.

Oops!!! When I was editing I then realized that I was actually missing one color swatch which was the dark brown (second from your right) not shown in the photo.

Notice here, the pigmentation on the black (the last shadow on your right) just blew me off. Seriously super black!

I also love the highlighter and the blushes. So pretty and nicely pigmented.

Good job, BH Cosmetics, you’ve nailed it again! I love everything about this palette!

Have you picked this palette yet? If not, quickly go and get the BH Cosmetics Pride & Prejudice & Zombies Makeup Collection now for a limited time only. This is still a good deal for just US$ 12.50 so I would tell you not to miss it out!

I really enjoy this palette. I can’t wait to get my order for the lip gloss. Don’t forget to check back to read more on the lip gloss collection review coming up next.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I’ll see you again on the next one. Bye!

NARS Eye Paint – Review & Swatch

I am so excited to share with you, drum roll please, the Nars Eye Paints I picked up recently!!!

This is actually the second NARS product I purchased and I love it! The color is beautiful and it’s pretty long-lasting. Nars Eye Paints are supposed to work as liners or shadows/bases. I’ve tried it as a gel eyeliner plus shadow base and it’s gorgeous!

I bought this eye paint at Sephora online, I was looking for a dark color with a little something special. This hits the mark. The color is beautiful – dark brown murky shade that go oh-so-well with my brown eyes. To me, it gives a matte and bold finish on the eyelids. ❤

I usually only wear black liquid liner so you can tell I wanted to really try something else. You know, sort of stepping out of my comfort zone kinda thingy. I used this brown (mesopotamia shade) and was pleasantly surprised by the color payoff. So easy to apply; super creamy. I was so happy with the results!!!

I know I’m repeating myself again, but this product is so intense, incredibly pigmented, and so so beautiful. It goes on wonderfully, nice and creamy. It goes on very fluidly, just like liquid, and it’s easy to get the product precisely where you want it. LOVE <3!

I was blown away when i first tried it, but decided to wait to review it since sometimes products start off amazing and then become less-than after some uses. Not so for my Mesopotamia. Woohoo!  I’ve been using this Mesopotamia constantly since I purchased it, and there is not one thing that I do not love about it.

Apology to the color swatch which looks a bit out of focus on my hand

I find that the effect is subtle enough to wear during the day, or when in intimate company. It stays all day and night. In case brown is not your cup of tea, this eye paint comes in 10 shades for a full range of artistry.

Use a liner brush and you’re good to go. I only need just a bit of product (so this’ll last you awhile). I highly recommend. It’s the best out there!

Available at Sephora, Nars Cosmetics, Mecca and Northstrom.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I’ll see you again on the next one. Bye!

Glossy Girly By Elf |REVIEW

ELF is by far the most inexpensive beauty products and loved by many makeup lovers.

I’m not quite a lip gloss person myself but I sure love the price. For $7.00 you get three pretty lip gloss in the shades of red, pink and plum.

The Lip gloss Super Glossy Lip Shine by ElfThese make your lips feel so smooth and it tastes great. This lip gloss has different fruity taste depending on the shades. Honestly, I’m not a big fan of the lip gloss but the colors DOES look right up my alley judging from the transparent tube packaging.

elf lip gloss

This lip gloss gives a nice glossy finish but I felt it was thick in formula with a slight feeling of tackiness. I’m don’t feel comfortable wearing lip products that makes my lips feels heavy and gunky. I also noticed that the Plum color lip gloss doesn’t have the color intensity I would have expected. They have delicious scents and taste but sadly I’m not “wow” by these 😦

This is a decent deal price wise if you like elf lip gloss product! I want to like them but it just failed to  impress me. So, I’ll not repurchase this again. I’ll give these away.

Are you loving the Lip gloss? What’s your favourite tinted lip gloss? I want to hear your comments down below.

Elf Brightening Eye Color : Photos & Color Swatches

elf makeup palette

Welcome to this week’s post review. Today’ I love to talk about the product from Elf. I did a mini beauty haul previously and I’m sharing with you some pictures, color swatches and product review. So, let’s hop in!

This Quad Essential Brightening Eye Color consists of other colors namely Luxe and Drama.

quad eyeshadow

Each quad is composed of 4 coordinating shades that allow for both natural and dramatic looks. A small built-in mirror tucked underneath the dual sponge applicator. Lovely packaging and easy to bring around in your purse.

elf brightening eye color swatches

I bought this in the shade “butternut” and it’s amazing for $1.00. I didn’t expect much for only $1.00 but each shade is nicely pigmented, smooth and blend easily. It has a slight shimmery finish. It’s not bad. Could be a bit more pigmented, but for a buck I’m not complaining. But I have to point this out so that you know. The downside which I notice visibly was the formula – it’s a bit chunky by using fingers but it blends well with eyeshadow brush.

elf color swatches

But see how it blends out so well on my bare hand. I don’t use primer or eye base when I do a color swatch. This is what you get from Elf Brightening Eye Color.

elf eyeshadow

No color fallout and it give a soft dewy finish which looks so natural and feeling care free. It’s a perfect shade for everyday wear. No touch up needed.

As I have mentioned in my earlier post, I noticed that the lighter shades don’t really show up on me but the darker two shades are beautiful as a duo. This would be a great product for some one who isn’t really experienced with eye shadows or you’re new to makeup as well as people who value the inexpensive price.

Which are your favorite products you always go back to with Elf? I love to hear your comments in the section below.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read.

Makeup Challenge|Rules To Break

Hey beauties,

I hope you remember that I posted a 5 Makeup Rules to Break previously and today. Last week, my beauty friend, Ingrid and I did a one eyeshadow makeup challenge and we have so much fun doing it. If you haven’t follow Ingrid from Curlyspringblossom beauty blog, please give her a follow. She has beautiful blog, funny and has good personality.

Did I mentioned fun? Okay … yes .that was a fun and interesting challenge we had on the one eyeshadow makeup look. We both have to try to break the 5 makeup rules and create the design look of our own. I did a post on it. Hit here to read more.

I have to confess that this one makeup rule is quite a challenge by itself. I’m so used of using 2-3 shades for my eye makeup and long story short, it’s not easy to apply one eyeshadow color and still looking like a drop-dead gorgeous runway model. In case you want to know – this is how I did mine.

nyx eyeshadow palette

I’m using my old time favorite NYX eyeshadow palette. I did a review on this palette a while ago and if you are interested to read more, here is the link. This palette has beautiful vibrant shades for spring & summer. Although I have to admit that summer is overdue, I still going to pull out this punchy orange for today’s eye look.

orange shade shadow

I love all the colors in this palette. The texture is smooth and nicely pigmented. Great color payoff, a little goes a long way, I tell you. This is a drugstore matte finish eyeshadows which is affordable and packed with bright colors.

one shadow look

Since this is a one eyeshadow makeup challenge – there is only one step of blending actually. I apply the Orange shadow for the lid, crease and under my eyes. I put more effort and time to blend them in order to decrease the hard lines. No highlighter nor eye primer used.

Next, I finish it by using a kohl eyeliner from Annabelle and white liner from Essence to make my eyes more pop. Lastly, the finishing touch with Lash Blast mascara by Covergirl for lashes.

It’s fun to do beauty challenge and if you want to do my next challenge from the list, please leave your comments below.

So, what do you guys think of this one eyeshadow makeup challenge look? Will you try them too?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read.
