I♥Makeup Eyeshadow Palette – Review & Swatches

Happy Monday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. What a better way to start the week then with a blog post? Today’s post I’ll be talking about the I♥Makeup Eyeshadow Palette in Black Velvet.

This isn’t a brand new palette but it’s to me. I talked briefly about this palette in my old UK Beauty Haul post a while ago so I’m excited to share my two cents.

This palette houses a selection of 16 eyeshadows including 3 shimmers and 13 beautiful matte shades. I really like the shiny black heart for the extra glam it gives to the packaging. The velvety material feels nice to touch and this packaging is really luxe. I can’t get over with the cute packaging yet.

I♥Makeup Eyeshadow Palette by Makeup Revloution

As I mentioned before in my previous blog, I appreciate brands that named each and every one of their eyeshadows. It makes life so much easier especially for beauty blogger like me. Can we just admire the full mirror that comes with this palette. Just look how big it is.

These eyeshadows are highly pigmented and easy to use. It has a beautiful color selection from light to mid-toned crease shade and black. Although there are only three shimmer shades they still offer a nice range; a champagne (Long), a bronze (Feel) and a gun metal (Cry) shade. You can wear them natural for everyday look to a dramatic smoky eye for evening wear. The choices are endless.

It tends to blend out easier than most powder shadows do. It’s long wearing and won’t crease on you.

Left half of the palette is slighty warm-toned while the right half presents a much cooler shades

This palette is so affordable and it’s a great one to go for if you want to test some cool-toned and warm-toned matte eyeshadows all in the same palette. I see myself reaching out for this palette and do a different eye looks with them.

Makeup Revolution color swatch

A closed up look of the color swatch I picked up directly from the pan.

Black velvet row 1
Row #1 L-R: True|Want|Long|Feel|Black (Black and Velvet are two identical shades)
Black velvet row 2
Row #2 L-R: Baby|Please|Sweet|Sin|Tender (True and Tender are very similar in color as you can see on the swatches)|Slow
Black velvet row 3
Row #3 L-R: Sweet (Yes, a repeat but different in shade)|Bring|Wild|Cry|Velvet

Out of these eyeshadows my favorite from this palette is going to be all the shades from row #3 which is a warmer toned! I really enjoy playing with this palette and would recommend to any matte shadow wearers. It’s not a bad palette at all and totally deserve more hypes and raves.

Let me know if you’ve been wearing colored eyeshadows. I’d love to know what your favorite shades and palettes are. I’m always on the lookout for something new to try!

Thank you guys for always reading, please comment and subscribe. I hope you guys enjoyed reading my opinion and how this product works for me.

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

KARITY Professional Single Eyeshadows – MY Fave Picks

Hi everyone! Some of you guys asked for a review when I got my order in and I’ve to apologize for this insanely overdue post. My obsession for eyeshadows is real and you won’t believe if I told you that it’s all buried deep in my storage drawer that I totally forgotten about these. So instead, today I’m going to show you what’s my favorite picks that I got from Karity Professional and how I save coins

I did a research and here’s the story behind this company. According to their website, Karity aims to “By selling directly to you, they cut out all of the extra markups that make all of those other fancy brands so pricey.”

#Karity Eyeshadow Pan

My obsession for neutral nude eyeshadows are endless. So, when I saw these pretty shade eyeshadows I knew I needed to try some of them. On their website they have eyeshadow palettes as well as individual shadows. I picked up seven single shadows from matte, velvet and frost finishing for you to get the sense of the type of finish this brand offer.

I’ve found some amazing and affordable eyeshadow that’s comparable to the Colourpop individual shadows and I’m excited to talk about them today. Scroll down for comparison from both brands in packaging, eyeshadow and to color swatches.

$4.50 a pan

MOONSHINE – is a Soft creamy beige frosty eyeshadow.

DIMEPIECE – Metallic Silver with icy shimmer frost eyeshadow

BIRTHDAY SUITE – Soft creamy beige matte eyeshadow

INOD is described as a Soft golden peachy brown matte eyeshadow

PANAMA GOLD – is described as a Peachy-brown with shimmer velvet eyeshadow

TEMPTRESS – Intense reddish brown matte eyeshadow

BEIGNING – Soft muted beige taupe matte eyeshadow

Cruelty Free

As you can see, they come in a cute packages and when you turn around it, you’ll also see the list of ingredients, as well as it’s cruelty free and recyclable. It gives you the texture of the color, it’s matte and the name.

Did you see that happy little cruelty free bunny!

#Karity $12 Eyeshadow Palette

I bought this separately to fill the individual eyeshadow pans. This palette also contains built in magnets that can hold up to twelve of our finished single shadows or empty 26mm pans. It comes with a huge mirror that I really appreciate.

Note that it doesn’t have a magnetic closure but it’s definitely a sturdy constructed palette to store your individual shadows. The lid’s opens and shuts with a click. This palette is the exact dupe to the Coastal Scents Interchangeable Palette if you asked me. If you’re only looking for an empty palette and for the price alone, I would say go for the Coastal palette. It’s only a fraction of the price for the exact product

All the shadow pots stick perfectly to the base due to the magnets. It’s a good size palette that’s travel friendly and convenient to bring everywhere. I like that I only picked the colors I want in it, my own customized palette tailored to me.

As you can see the shades although pigmented are also extremely buildable, so you can create a very soft and natural look with these neutral shadows. I would say the lasting power is decent but it gets better with eye primer for sure.

Today’s blog post is super quick but jammed packed with photos. I wanted to share with you the full swatches of the eyeshadows I got from Karity. I understand how hard it is to shop online so I’m hoping these straightforward swatches help.

Below are the color swatches I did on my arm without primer or eyeshadow base. I love how pigmented these shadows are. The texture feels smooth and creamy. I’m surprised that it blends so well given they’re so pigmented shadows.

The color payoff is amazing, what you see is what you get!

I don’t have all the Mac Single Shadows to compare but here’s the list of dupes of (Mac vs Karity) I found on Pinterest which I hope helps. I’m pleased to have picked up six out of seven Mac dupes from Karity that saves me some money.

Nylon – Moonshine

Brule – Birthday Suite

Electra – Dimepiece

Soft Brown – Inod

Texture – Panama Gold

Embark – Temptress

I mentioned earlier in this post that I’ll be doing a comparison between Karity and Colourpop so here’s a quick sneak peek. If you like me to do a comprehensive blog review, let me know in the comment below. As far as packaging, formula and price tag goes, I think they’re very competitive and similar in many ways. To top it up, both are also cruelty free brands except Karity is a little underrated.

Overall verdict: These eyeshadows are richly pigmented. I like the way it applies and blend. Honestly, I’m quite impressed with the quality and the affordable prices are a hard thing to come by. This cruelty free single shadow is only $4.50 and they got all shades of the rainbow for everyone. I do recommend you giving these a try because you won’t be disappointed. So what are you waiting for – don’t take my word for it, go check it out!

When you order from Karity, make sure to use their offer for FREE Shipping on US orders over $35. I want you to save on shipping so I’m just passing on the good news. I don’t work or have any affiliate links with this brand.

What are your favorite single shadows? Have you tried Karity eyeshadows before? Comment below what are your thoughts? I love to hear from you.

I hope you enjoyed this post, please go follow my Instagram for more daily updates or any social media for notifications.

New Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition Palette by BH Cosmetics

What’s up you guys? Welcome back to my blog! Today’s post is going to be a very exciting one because I just received my Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition 21 Color Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette in the mail two days ago. When I opened it – my heart skip a beat.

I was going to do a different post on beauty haul but that would come shortly.

This palette is so much better than I thought given I only paid $19.50 for this palette. Hearing so many amazing things about her first palette, I can only imagine how much more awesome this palette will be. I’m shaking with excitement as I unwrapped this bad boy. SPOILER ALERT – It’s gorgeous!

Now let’s get started.

From what I learned, the newest collaboration from BH Cosmetics and Carli Bybel is a turn up version of her previous palette. In case some of you didn’t know who Carli Bybel is, she’s a huge youtuber with over 5 million subscribers on tube.

She already has one BH collab, I never purchased it which makes this even better thing for me to get because I don’t have the original.

This is a gorgeous palette, it’s luxurious and the color selections are amazing. The outside design of the packaging is cute. It’s a very large palette which I like but not practical for travel at all. It got a nice big mirror and it says “aspire to inspire”. It’s a nice cardboard packaging, it’s not going to get too dirty and you could wipe it clean.

The packaging is huge but not bulky in thickness whatsoever and there’s a magnet closure on the lid which I really appreciate.

7 new shades

Deluxe Edition has all the previous shades plus seven new shadows and three new highlighters. The shadows and highlighters marked with a smiley emoji symbol are the newbies, FYI.

In this palette EVERYTHING is creamy and buttery to perfection.

If you guys just look at these shadows. These shadows just screams spring to me. Look at the mauvy, purple and peachy shadows. The colors are absolutely stunning just by looking at it. So, let’s into swatching.

1st row

I’m using a finger swatch without any eye primer or eyeshadow base on my arm. I swatched the shades for you guys and as you can see the pigmentation is incredible especially those shimmery ones.

Here’s the top row of shadows. Can we just stop and be mesmerized by this rosy pink shade (second on the right). That’s such a beautiful color. So much pigment and shimmery reflect. The last one the right has the same color except it’s less of a pink that you see here.

2nd row

I was sucked in the most by the mauvy shadows in the middle. Isn’t it an amazing color that’s perfect for spring? I’m so excited I want to play with all the shades in this palette. Don’t forget to stay tuned as I share exciting #EOTD makeup on my Instagram the coming days.

The matte shades have lovely pigmentation and blended very well in my opinion. The shimmer shades are soft, buttery and highly pigmented with no effort required to get intense color payoff. They’re just stunning!

3rd row

The eyeshadows are mainly neutral easy-to-wear shades, making this a great palette for every day and I find myself reaching for it often.

It has pink and plum shades in addition to gold, bronze and copper. The gold color second from left is pure stunning. I really like the versatility you get from this palette.

Guys could we stop here to admire these beauty. You know that these sections are for highlighters ONLY!

The left highlighter is an icy peach highlighter that has a warm to it. The golden highlighter on the right is one of the new hues. Oh my gosh! Just look at that! It feels like they’re super intense and almost…creamy. I don’t really know how to describe this. I can’t even tell you … you definitely need to get this palette I’m telling you.

They threw in four other incredible highlighters that are insanely gorgeous. Here’s the final row of highlighters with a new icy shade (far left) created for porcelain skin tones verse the warmer tones for women of color. I’m in love with the two middle highlighters currently. Let me know if you like to see a makeup tutorial in the comment section.

These are the most pigmented, rich and beautiful highlighter I’ve ever seen in my life. Absolutely stunning! I can tell you, the formula is out of this world. Seriously!

My two cents opinion, Carli makes it so affordable for everyone to purchase this. I’m loving the new shades of highlighters in her deluxe palette. The colors are gorgeous, and EVERY color here is usable! This palette is a steal for this price and so worth it. I can’t say enough about this palette! GO Get it!

The BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition Palette is available for $19.50 (pre-order sale) at BHCosmetics.com.

Tester Wednesday: Lise Watier Rivages Eyeshadow Palette – Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Welcome back to Tester Wednesday. Every week I rotate my makeup bag to test out products for a whole full week or find new makeup favorites that I haven’t tried before or testing out products from my first impression after a full week test run.

So, let’s get started.

Last week, I was testing a lot of products from Lise Watier which I really like and quite impressed with. So today, I thought I would share with you my thoughts and opinion on my new favorite Lise Watier Rivages Eyeshadows Palette.

I got this from their warehouse sale and the moment I saw the packaging and the color selections I knew I had to get my grabby hands on it.

As always, Lise Watier impresses me right off the bat by housing their products in carefully thought out packaging. Judging by the Rivages packaging, it makes me think that this design was inspired by timeless elegance.

I’m SO grateful that it’s in my collection as this palette is just such a beauty.

When I look at this palette, I personally think that it could easily stand as a knockout on its own without the other supporting products. Look how gorgeous the colors are!

It housed ten beautiful eyeshadows in a brass edged and opalescent shell-like lid compact with a rose-mauve interior. The underside of the lid features a large mirror, perfect for makeup on the go which I really appreciate, and two duo-ended sponge tip applicators which I don’t use since I prefer to use my own brushes.

Inside this palette there are ten shades:

Top row: a soft corn yellow/ a muted moss green/a peach pink/ a plum & a deep wine red, kinda like a cool marsala

Bottom row: a soft blush pink/ a light mauve purple/ an icy blue pink/ a deep red bronze & a deep purple black

Color swatches on bare arms

All the shades also have that characteristic hard texture typical of Lise Watier eyeshadows, however these ones at least felt a bit more buttery than previous palettes due to its powder-cream formulation.

I’m really blown away by the colors and formula in this palette. Just admire how insanely pigmented these shadows are. Best thing is, you don’t even need a primer for these shadows and they last all day with only moderate fading.

The $54 price tag for ten shades of the Rivages palette is quite pricey, but if you don’t have an extensive eyeshadow collection or if you happen to see it at a warehouse sales for a discounted price, then by all means get this immediately. You’re going to like it.

Overall, the Palette Rivages is a hands-down must-have in my opinion, the quality and value of it is just beyond amazing. This is a perfect summer shadows I know I’ll be wearing all summer.

Have you frequented any beauty warehouse sales lately? If yes, which brand is your favorite and why?

Thank you so much for stopping by to read. If you did enjoy this post definitely follow my blog. I hope you come to check on my social media down below. In the meantime come and say hi! I’ll see you on my next blog, bye!

Maybelline The 24K Nudes Palette – Swatches & Review

Hey guys! How’s it going? I was supposedly doing my window shopping but I was excited when I find the new reformulated and improved formula The 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Palette by Maybelline.

Let me introduced you to their new Spring 2017 palette which was launched a couple of months ago. You might’ve seen or heard of it on the internet but this palette is fairly new to me. I was instantly sucked into buying this palette seeing how these colors look gorgeous together.

I’ve very high hopes for this considering it’s pretty easy to find nicely pigmented shadows at the drugstore price point these days. So was it worth the hype? Let’s take a look!

I love the gold packaging and it retails for $14.99. A palette designed with beautiful matte and shimmery shades showing gold, bronze and copper tints.

I really like that in the back include suggestions of how we can combine the tones, that can make it easier for those who do not know much about makeup. This you can find in all of their Nudes palette collection.

And here’s the dual ended sponge applicator looks like. The sponge that comes with the palette is ideal for smoking out your eyeshadow. I usually don’t be bother to use the applicator provided. I prefer to use my own brush.

I really like the colors and how they all look inside of the palette. You get some mattes, shimmers and satin finishing from this palette. One thing I can tell you for sure is that they do feel more buttery then their other previous eyeshadow palettes.

These shadows are notably easy to blend and easy to blend is key. I’ve a color swatch to show you – look how nicely pigmented and silky soft these shadows are; and they don’t have a problem with wear time at all. The colors go on smoothly and aren’t patchy, I rarely got much fallout but just a little with the darker shades, and they blend easily without fading too quickly. I’m wearing it again today!

Top row from left to right

Shimmery Nude,  Matte Deep brown, Pearly White, Light Bronze, Matte Nude & Shimmery Gold

Look how pretty these shadows are on my bare arm.  You can see me did a swatch directly to my hand. No base or primer and they’re not wet. Can you see how buttery and silky smooth these shadows are? No powdery and dry feel on this palette except shade 5.

By the way, the furthest shade to the right is the only Gold out of the twelve shades. Texture is very smooth and soft. It’s the most beautiful gold ever!

Bottom row from left to right.

Satin White,  Shimmery Deep Purple, Shimmery Gold Green, Matte Black, Shimmery Brown Copper & Shimmery Black

The cause of the fallout in my opinion in shade 5 (top row) is that it’s on the flaky side and shades 9 and 12 have micro glitter particles that separate from the rest of the formula.

I find almost all of the shades have a buttery texture so that part of the claim was true. It’s definitely better than the previous Maybelline Nudes Palettes but is comparable to high end, not really.

The Maybelline 24K Nudes is the perfect palette for those of you who like an ‘eyeshadow quick fix’ where you dip your finger in an eyeshadow and swipe it all over your lid, just for that little something extra.

Overall, I’m feeling so-so about the new Maybelline 24k Nudes palette. While the formula is improved it’s not as great as I was hoping it would be so that was a bit of a letdown. But anyways, I’m going to keep working with this palette and see what I think after I’ve used it more.

I do think the palette is reasonably priced, although there are better performing options at this price point if you’re willing to sacrifice amount of product and color variety.  If you’re looking for a lower price point all together that still offers color variety, the Wet n Wild Au Naturel Palettes come to mind.

What do you think of the new Maybelline 24k Nudes palette? Do you think you’ll buy it? Let me know in the comments below! 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by to read. If you did enjoy this post definitely follow my blog. I hope you come to check on my social media down below. In the meantime come and say hi! Until next time blog, bye!

Tester Wednesday: Fortune Favors The Brave : Review, Photos & Swatches

Hey guys! Welcome back to Tester Wednesday. It has been a while since I talked about Makeup Revolution (MUR) beauty products. I ordered a few palettes online a few months ago and had been putting all these goodies on the back burner. Well, better late than never right!

So, today I thought I’ll share my first impression review on this beautiful palette. This palette is quite special because it was created in collaboration with Jane Cunningham.

This is her palette that she’s been working on with Makeup Revolution and had finally launched it last March.

This palette retails for £9.99 which is a great price value for a drugstore brand. Why did I say that? Continue reading and you’ll find out why.

Let’s talk about packaging for a second. It comes in a matte gold which makes it look much more luxurious and houses 30 eyeshadows, large mirror which I really appreciate and a simple dual-ended eyeshadow brush.

This is a 30 pan palette. I really love the color selections she created. The shadows are for everyone, irrespective of age or tone according to Jane.

I like that she added four baked eyeshadows in the mist of all these amazing color shadows. They’re super pigmented and very metallic. Looks so pretty all over the lids. Love love this!

Here’s what you’ll find in Fortune Favors The Brave palette. You got light sheen and mattes, metallic bursts of color heading through to the darkest shades of black, plum and navy.

All the shades have names which are printed on a plastic sheet. Nope! I’m not complaining at all, I like to see that effort being pour in naming these shadows. Win in my book!

I’m most excited to show all these gorgeous color swatches down below.  All swatches are with one swipe directly from pan without primer.

Row 1: Glimmer, Buffer, Peachy, Hope, Fortune, Skylight, Transformer, Midnight Rainbow – the middle Hope and Fortune are my favorite shades

Row 2: Ice Cloud, Golden Coins, Cashmere, Tip Top,  Green Machine, Smoothie

Row 3: Caffeine Fix, Latte, Pink Diamond, Creme, Drama Queen, Lonely Planet, Blacqua.

Row 4: Soft, New World, Favour, Sunset Hour, Super Gold, Winning, Brave, The Revolution – and at the end Winning, Brave and The Revolution are also some of my favorite shades in this palette .

Here’s a quick eye look I created.

The overall quality of the eyeshadows is good. There are some less pigmented shades like Glimmer, Peachy, Midnight Rainbow, Tip Top, Smoothie, Latte, Crème, Soft and Pink Diamond which require a bit more work and building up to get a desire intensity. Other shades are smooth and well pigmented. They’re easy to blend and they stay all day without bulging on eyeshadow base I wore for this first impression review.

I highly recommend it if you’re on the market for an affordable and good quality product from a drugstore brand. Overall, I’m quite impressed with the wear time and happy with the look. It performs well and I got nothing bad to say about this palette honestly. It’s a versatile palette that would look gorgeous for anyone.

I love that MUR is accessible to everyone on price point with no loss on quality. Best thing is that you can get this at Amazon, ebay, Ulta and Superdrug stores.

So what do you think of the ‘Fortune Favours The Brave’ palette? Comment what you think. I love to hear from you.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog. I hope to see you all again on my next post. Stay tuned for more popped up makeup products which I’m so excited to show you guys. Bye!

Be… Eyeshadow Palette by BH Cosmetics – Review & Swatches

Hey guys! Welcome to Tester Wednesday! Today I’m going to share with you my thoughts and opinion on this Be Eyeshadow Palette by BH Cosmetics I’ve tried over past two week on rotations.

I did mentioned this before in my previous post where I talked about the collaboration between BH Cosmetics and beauty Youtuber Bubz Beauty. She has her vlog channel just like other youtubers. Did I mentioned that she has almost 3 million subscribers? I don’t know if you care but just to put it out.

According to her, it took her 8 years to work on this palette. Imagine the effort and hard-work poured into it. I love supporting youtubers who work hard with brands to create a palette with followers or users in mind. It’s the concept of the palette that caught my attention. She went with the inspirational theme; “Be whatever you want to be”. And this palette says it all.

Let’s talk about the packaging. I really like the rose gold lace detail on the front of the palette. It’s so girlie and feminine. The packaging is cardboard like the other BH Cosmetics YouTube collaboration palettes, which makes it super light weight and easy for travelling. Inside you’d find a decent size mirror and twelve pretty eyeshadows on it.

The cost of it is $12.50 at BH Cosmetics.

I’m a sucker for eyeshadows names when it comes to palette. Don’t you hate it when they don’t!  I mean come on … I just don’t get why don’t. How hard could it be to name eyeshadows?

But thankfully, this palette what I wished for in a palette. And I’m happy for that.

You could wear inspiring shadows like Grateful with Confident and Able or any combination shades your heart desire. (Image inserted below is what I’m wearing on my eyes today #EOTD using the shadows I just mentioned).

As these shadows are nicely pigmented, you can definitely build up the colors. They’re very easy to blend with no fallouts!

#EOTD Look – It gave me this warm, rustic eye look, and I also winged my eyeliner and applied a warm mauve lipstick to tie it all together!

My top favorites are Happy, Optimistic, Charismatic and Thoughtful.  Which inspiration shadow names is your favorite? I love to know.

All of the colors I have used or swatched on my eyelid are decently pigmented. I haven’t found a lot of fallout with these shades and instead I find the formula is almost buttery for the most part except for one of them which I find a little more chalky than the others. It’s the shade Confident (the eggplant purple).

So overall, this is a great palette if you’re looking for a budget palette as an alternative. Another point I like to mention is that this product is cruelty free meaning they’re not tested on animal just in case you’re concern about it.

Did you order the “Be…” palette? What do you think of it? Let me know!

I hope you enjoy this month’s picks. Until next time, take care everybody!

Thank you all so much for popping over to my blog! come find me on all my other social media sites such as Facebook/ twitter/ Instagram @heysharonoox. I love interacting so don’t be afraid to say hi.

Kat Von D Innerstellar Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! Nice to see you guys in my blog.

I recently featured quite a bit of eyeshadow palettes and this reminds me that I still have several palettes to go through or at least tried for a review.

It features transformative matte and shimmer shades in Kat Von D’s signature, high-pigment eyeshadow formula.

Top 3 from left to right:  gravitron – vast – lycan

Second row from left to right:  night crawler – dios – lunacy – astrological – darkstar – orion – 3am – moonshine – killing moon

This Innerstellar is notably a cool toned palette. I really love the shades but the formula doesn’t seems to wow me as much. You see, I’ve warm under toned and cooler shadows sometimes just didn’t cut it. If you’re cool-toned person, you’re going to enjoy this more than I do.

The texture of the eyeshadows, on the whole, was soft, finely-milled, and smooth. There were a couple that were a little powdery, but some were really easy to work with.

Here are the color swatches of Innerstellar:

Top to bottom:

Gravitron is a cool-toned, iridescent pink-white with lilac shimmer.

Vast is a muted, medium taupe brown with a subtle, gray tint and a soft, frosted finish.

Lycan is a bright, yellow-toned, creamy white with a matte finish.

There are only two shadows (lycan & kiling moon) in this palette with matte finish, while the rest are either metallic or shimmery finishing. They blend easily on lids which is awesome. I don’t find any problem with applying and blending.

Color Swatches from top to bottom:

Killing Moon is a deep black with a matte finish and neutral undertones. The texture is a little dry but it doesn’t seems powdery.

Moonshine is a brightened silver with a metallic sheen. I find the texture for this shade to be smooth and fairly pigmented. It does kick up some powder, I just to put it out there for you guys.

3AM is a brightened, light-medium warm taupe brown with a frosted, metallic finish. The texture is soft and has great color payoff.

Orion is a medium-dark brown with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It feels silky and finely-milled. I would hope that it’s a little darker to fit this palette selection better. I find the shade to be a little weak compared to the other rest of the shadows.

Darkstar is a deep, gray taupe with a metallic sheen. Best pigmentation and creamy. I can say that this is my favorite color after Moonshine.

Astrological is a bright lavender with a subtle golden sheen. The texture is soft and pretty. Very decent pigmentation.

Lunacy is a medium-dark, cool-toned purple with a frosted sheen. I find the texture ran a little drier but it has good color payoff.

Dios is a muted, silver-shimmered dark gray with bluish tones and a soft, satiny finish. It a little powdery and drier but I’m not overly concerned with it since it blends well on the outer v.

Night Crawler is a cool-toned, taupe with strong gray tones and a satin finish. Very nice pigmentation and it went on smooth and easily. An everyday shade I would reach for.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Here is a quick eye makeup look from the shadows I used:.

Browbone – Lycan

Lids – Orion

Crease – Astrological

Outer corner – Lunacy

Inner corner – Gravitron

Under eye – Lunacy

Center eye – Moonshine (to make eyes look more popped)

What do you think of this palette? Which KVD is your favorite? I love to hear your comments.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read. I’ll see you again on the next one!

Have a great day everyone! Bye!

Pride+Prejudice+ZOMBIES By Bh Cosmetics

Hey guys!

Have you watched the comedy horror film “Pride & Prejudice & Zombies”? The horror film is based on the 2009 novel where “in the 19th century, a mysterious plague turns the English countryside into a war zone. If you haven’t, you can watch it on Netflix.

I was very excited when they first launched the Bh Cosmetics Pride & Prejudice & Zombies makeup collections.

Fall in love and fight with zombies killers from Bh Cosmetics! Continue to read on …

Here are the ingredients on the back of the packaging. Oh yes, can you spot the bunny? That’s the cruelty free logo where you know the brand do not tested their products on animals.

You get twelve beautifully pigmented eyeshadows, a highlighter and two blushes from this palette. There are a mixed of matte and shimmery shadows.

I love the interior as much as the exterior. It’s all matte black with glossy black motifs and a quote from the movie/book printed in gold under the mirror. I find the design to be quite elegant.

“I shall never relinquish my sword for a ring”

– Elizabeth Bennet

These eyeshadows are clearly separated into two parts. The top row being warm tones while the bottom being cooler tones. There are four mattes and eight shimmer in this palette.

I went to divide these shadows to three quads as shown below:

Quad 1:

Quad 2:

Quad 3:

Swatches you see here are made without primers with single swipes. Each are beautifully pigmented. If I have to choose the lowest pigmentation among all the rest, I’ll say the 1st shades on the top and bottom rows.

Oops!!! When I was editing I then realized that I was actually missing one color swatch which was the dark brown (second from your right) not shown in the photo.

Notice here, the pigmentation on the black (the last shadow on your right) just blew me off. Seriously super black!

I also love the highlighter and the blushes. So pretty and nicely pigmented.

Good job, BH Cosmetics, you’ve nailed it again! I love everything about this palette!

Have you picked this palette yet? If not, quickly go and get the BH Cosmetics Pride & Prejudice & Zombies Makeup Collection now for a limited time only. This is still a good deal for just US$ 12.50 so I would tell you not to miss it out!

I really enjoy this palette. I can’t wait to get my order for the lip gloss. Don’t forget to check back to read more on the lip gloss collection review coming up next.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I’ll see you again on the next one. Bye!

Drugstore Makeup Fails!

Hey guys! Thanks for stopping by my blog.Today I’ll be sharing my thoughts and opinions on the drugstore makeup fails.

Maybelline’s “The Rock Nudes” Palette is the newest 12 pan eyeshadow palette that is part of their Spring 2016 Collection. Yes,  this is another palette from the brand that is part of their larger palette series back in 2014 when they first launched The Nudes palette.

First up, I’m going to talk a little bit about Maybelline The Rock Nudes Eyeshadow Palette.

I wasn’t hesitant at all when I saw this new palette expecting that the formula would be similar or better than its predecessor but I was fairly disappointed. Many of you who have been following my blog knows that I’ve a huge obsession with eyeshadow palettes so that’s how this palette got in my collection.

It houses 12 smokey shades for $17.99 a palette. The packaging is not sexy or luxe whatsoever. If you’ve other palettes from the Maybelline The Nudes collection, then you would totally know what I’m saying. Boring same old drugstore plastic packaging.

I found that when you swatched with just one swipe of the color, the shadows were a bit chalky and not as deep in pigmentation.

I really don’t like the formula in this palette at all. The shadows are too powdery with low color pigmentation. The color selections are equally terrible. There are many similar shades in this palette as you can see on the swatch colors. I hate to say this but the staying power isn’t there at all.

Drugstore makeup prices continue to rise higher and higher unfortunately. I feel like I can use that money towards something mid-range.

On me, all the colors seems to mix up together and makes my eyes look like I just had a major fight.

Sad to say but this palette is truly a miss for me.I prefer shadows that doesn’t need a lot of effort to create a pretty look. These shadows definitely take a little more effort and need a good base or primer to get the most pay off. I wouldn’t recommend this palette to anyone. Keep your money and invest on some other drugstore brand that’s of much better quality.

Essence Smokey 2 in 1 Kohl Liner from the drugstore Pharmaprix (SDM). I believe this is the only shade they carry the last time I check.

I should say I’m not really a kohl kinda girl, I prefer regular old eyeliners. But Essence’s formula is actually kinda nifty.

Here’s why!

I always thought that a 2 in 1 formula kohl acts as either a liner or a blendable shadow. Do you agree?

I like how I can apply a thicker layer of this on my lash line but it takes a lot more work to draw a wing. The tip is thick and soft formula makes it hard to pull out a slaying cat eye.

My two cents opinion, this kohl is better as eyeshadow than an eyeliner. It smudges well and it goes powdery as you work, so it looks like you just applied a black eyeshadow.

So, as an eyeliner, I wouldn’t recommend it but would be great as cream eyeshadow if they have them in different shades. I don’t have the great skill to create a beautiful smokey eye with neither powder shadow nor kohl. So, for that reason and the limited color choices, I’m going to pass.

Having said that, I will be searching for my holy grail eyeliner for sure. This are my personal opinions and the products I just mentioned might be your holy grail and I’m totally fine with it. Unfortunately, these two are my drugstore makeup fail products.

Let me know if you experience any makeup fails? Love to hear your comments.

Anyway, that’s it from me for now. Talk soon.:) Bye!

Eyeshadow Addicts – Lise Watier Eden Tropical Palette

It’s no secret that I am an eyeshadow addict. I think you can never just have one eyeshadow palette. It’s practically impossible! It’s no surprise that I’m a proud owner of the not-so-little eyehshadow palette collection.

Note of caution: This post is picture heavy.

My latest eyeshadow palette entry is this Lise Watier Eden Tropical for CAD$43.00 (on regular price) but I got it from Winners with a discounted price. I’m not sure if this is a limited edition but I’m just happy I have this in my collection.

I was drawn not only to the inside eyesadow but also to this unique tropical design packaging on this compact casing palette. It’s made of a sturdy plastic housing six eyeshadows. It comes with a decent size mirror and two sponge applicator.

Now, let’s take a look at these colors:

This six shadow pan is packed with colors and super blendable texture. As expected,  this shadows are long lasting even without primer as I noticed that it doesn’t budge or crease all day. I’m wearing these shadows again today.

The texture of the shadows are with shimmer and metallic finishing. All the six shades really comes out really nice! Doing my happy dance! Oh yeah! Oh yeah!

i noticed that the formula delivers not only on the pigmentation front but is also long-wearing and stays put all day (I always use an eyeshadow primer underneath) without any creasing or fading.

Color swatches – using my fingers to pick straight from the pan. Amazing color for spring.

This palette has totally live up to its name and the formula delivers not only on the pigmentation front but is also long-wearing. I’m really impressed with the quality but given the high price tag, I’ll probably wear it more for special events.

These eyeshadow swatches show how powerful the pigment in this palette actually is. Gorgeous, don’t you think!

My thoughts:- I have nothing but good things to say about the Lise Watier Eden Tropical eyeshadows. I love the quality, the color selections and the value. I’m running over to my local Pharmaprix to grab some more products. I’m obsessed with this brand now (giggle).

Once again. Good job!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope to see you again on the next one!
