Pixi Beauty Cruelty Free Makeup

Hey everyone! I can’t believe we’re already in the month of February. It’s insane how fast time swoosh by! Or is it just me!

Anyways, in today’s post I just want to do a quick mention of the cruelty free products that doing a come back. While I’ve to admit that I’m not 100% clean or cruelty free but 2018 is a mark for me to put a conscious effort to make it happen with baby steps. So without further ado, let’s jump right in.PixibyPetraPixi by Petra is a cruelty free makeup brand that I’ve known since the beginning of my blogging days and here are products that keeps me going back.

Pixi Beauty Bronzer
Beauty Bronzer + Kabuki – $24.00

I’ve Pixi Beauty Bronzer in the shade Summertime and it’s the most beautiful color tan for my light-medium skin toned. I’m a matte kind of girl when it comes to bronzer, so this formula is just right up my alley.

The natural mineral formula is infused with vitamin E and mica, product ingredients that will make your cheeks looking flawless and silky fresh as you wear it. Buff it where you naturally tan and you’re good to go. I really appreciate how light it is for winter use but can also be built up to be suitable for summer.Pixi Beauty BronzerThe pigmentation is incredible and it on the cheek for a surprisingly long time. With their sleek and travel friendly packaging set, you’re going to fall head over heels for it!  By the way, did I mentioned it smells amazing! And if you’re on the market for a subtle glow bronzer that’s not shinning then you’re going to like this set. Grab your set today!Kabuki brushIt comes with a good size Kabuki Brush like so. What is a kabuki brush anyway you might asked? The answer I got from google search is “the brush is named after the Kabuki Japanese drama theater, where, ironically, male actors wear Keshō, a very heavy makeup made of white rice powder.”

Today, however, the word “kabuki” is used to describe a variety of makeup brushes, whether they have squat or long handles, real or synthetic hair, or rounded or flat tops.Pixi Kabuki BrushThe synthetic fiber brush wasn’t too dense nor to soft. It tapered on both sides for precise blending. It’s suitable for applying powder evenly over your face with thinly. You don’t have to splurge on some expensive Hakuhodo Brush USA if you don’t want to. For me, this one did an awesome job just like any kabuki brush. It’s my new favorite and I hope they’ll never stop making it!Pixi Beauty Eyeshadow PalettesMoving on I got two Mesmerizing Mineral Palettes in the shade Mineral Contour and Copper Peach that I’ve been dying to share their color swatches for your guys.

Mineral Contour Eyeshadow Palette
Mineral Contour Palette $12-$14

This is a new palette I picked up from Shoppers Drug Mart the other day to add to my ever growing Pixi Beauty collection. It features six earthy tones from frosty white to the darkest charcoal grey shades eyeshadow in complementing colors. Complete with a dual-ended sponge tip brush.

Mineral Contour PaletteAll the shades are soft to the touch, it feels creamy and easy to blend. They’re also just a little powdery but I wouldn’t be overly concern about it. I noticed the pigmentation to be not very consistent especially the frosted white compares to the champagne beige. I’m not sure if I got a bad batch but here’s the color swatch up closed.

From Left to Right:

  • Charcoal Grey
  • Bronze Brown
  • Champagne Beige – is my favorite shade of the bunch
  • Light Taupe
  • Cream – this shade turns out very closed to my skin tone but it’s a great color as a transition shade
  • Frosted White
Copper Peach Palette
Copper Peach Palette

I did a review a few years back when I was first introduced to Pixi Beauty. So, I’m not going to go into great length but instead I’ll have the link here if you like to read more about it.Copper Peach swatchesThis palette contains peach, bronze and russet shades, which I really enjoy as I really only wear neutral eye looks most of the time.

From Left to Right:

  • Dark Bronze Shimmer
  • Copper Shimmer
  • Peachy Shimmer
  • Matte Brown
  • Bronze
  • Champagne

Of the two, this has to be my favorite palette. The dark bronze and copper shades are what I use for everyday wear. They super easy to apply and blend away. I love how my makeup stay fresh all day with these creamy formulas. I’ve got only good things to say about this product and the brand.

If you haven’t tried any products from Pixi, I urge you to check out their website or head over to the nearest drugstore, because they got you covered!

I hope this post will help you kick start your search. Let me know if you guys found this useful!

Single Shadows by L’Oreal – Swatches & Photos

Hey everybody! I’m super excited with this post because it’s really about single shadows that has been in my collection for a long while and I just want to bring it back into today’s post.

Color Infallible

I did a few post back in the days so I’ll put a link here in case you like to check it out. So, awhile ago I picked up three additional shades to add to my ever growing collection. I really like to wear these colors in winter. They’re so pretty and flattering to the eyes.

I really like the glass jar packaging. It comes with a little black plastic stopper to keep the shadows pressed down.

Color pots L'oreal
L-R: Endless Chocolate, Sweet Strawberry & Burning Black

You can see I went through quite a bit on Endless Chocolate. It’s described as a bronzed chocolate brown which is so pretty to wear on stand alone. But sometimes, I like to pair it with Sweet Strawberry, which is a hot pink coral and Burning Black a dark burgundy with a hint of black to wear for an intense smokey or glam look but you can also do a one shadow look with this stuff. One shadow look is budget friendly and time friendly if that’s what you’re looking at.

The shimmery single pot eyeshadows are Endless Chocolate and Burning Black while sweet Strawbery is a matte finish that blew me away. The intensity, color payoff and long wearing are more than I expected.

Color swatch L'Oreal Infallible

The texture is what I’d call a creamy powder, though it’s not a cream at all. I appreciate the intense pigmentation this formula gives. They’ve a wide range of color selections that knocks my socks off.

#EOTD single shadow look

I’ve put on an #EOTD with stand alone shadow using Endless Chocolate for the purpose of this post. Everyone needs Endless Chocolate!

I like to apply these shadows with my finger but using a brush is great too. I prime my lid and then just dab the shadow all over the lid.  Then I use a fluffy brush to just blend back and forth throughout the crease. It goes on easily and makes my eyes stands out for all the right reasons.

Love it! I have many shades from this range and they’re all highly pigmented. They stay on for long hours and it doesn’t crease. Overall, I really like this and if you’re looking for a drugstore shadows at a decent price, these are the best you can find.

Have you tried any of these shades? Share it in the comment below. I’d love to hear what you think.

Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you again on my next post.

Do You Need It? Essence Makeup Bronzing & Highlighting Palette

Hi guys! Today’s I’ll be talking about this new palette by Essence Makeup well maybe not new new but it’s definitely new to me. It’s the Glow Must Go On bronzing and highlighting palette and I picked up mine at my local drugstore but it’s also available at Essence’s website if you want to check it out.

essence glow and go

This palette is a collaboration with beauty youtuber and this one bronzing & highlighting palette is with Serena from Beautylab. I like supporting beauty youtuber who works hard and get their name out.

There are four available and the one that drawn me the most is called The Glow Must Go On, a bronzing and highlighting palette!

Really like the outside packaging and design of this palette. It’s made of cardboard material but very sturdy. It’s a nice size for travelling and small enough to fit into any makeup bag.

In this palette, you get a highlighter, two eyeshadows and three beautiful shimmery bronzers. There’s a small brush to help you apply the products but I prefer to use it for touch ups only. To me it seems like a perfect “getaway” palette for holidays. You can also use the glowing highlighter or bronzers on your eyes, to add them some more shine.

This palette is amazing. I was blown away when I swatched these. They feel so creamy and pigmented.  “the glow must go on” palette has three different bronzers in warm.

If you want to know if it impressed me or not, read on!

L-R: Honey Glow Highlighter, Cinnamon and Sandalwood Eyeshadows

The Cinnamon eyeshadow is described as brick orange while Sandalwood is more like medium dark brown shadow. I was drawn to the Sandalwood shade as it’s chocolaty and looks like a rich color.  As for the Cinnamon, it’s more dusty than the darker brown and the pigmentation isn’t the best but can be built up a bit. These two eyeshadows are matte and can be used as bronzer if you like to mix things up a bit. I used the Cinnamon shade as transition color or on the crease and the Sandalwood on the outer corner.

Next is the Honey Glow highlighter which gives a frosty finish that I really like. It’s pigmented so you don’t need loads to achieve the desired look.

Next are the swatches of the trio power Glowing Bronzer. The bronzers are in copper,  bronze and pink shade. The finish of the bronzer is super metallic and looks very well on warmer skin tones. Brunettes with yellow undertone will love this!

The texture is very soft. It’s buildable as well as blendable. The shades are beautiful but the drawback for me is the shimmery formula.

This small brush applicator is useful to apply highlighter or touch ups. I find it’s too big and flat for your eyes and too small to use for your face.

Oh boy, am I glowing!!! The highlighter is my only favorite from the palette.

Overall, I think this is a nice palette if you’re looking for minimum color palette which is easy to work. It’s not a terrible palette if you like glowy bronzers which I’m not really a fan of. The design got my attention and the fact that I’m supporting a youtuber in her collab with Essence. Sadly,  as much as I want to like all of them, it’s a miss for me. I would say don’t waste your money, there are other drugstore palettes out there that offers more for your buck.

Hope this review was helpful to you! If you do decide to try these palettes, let me know how they fared with you!

Walmart Beauty Haul & Review

Hey guys! What would you do if you’re a beauty addict! Beside shopping online, admittedly I also have a thing or two of shopping in brick and mortar stores. My doctor advises me to walk more and to go out more, so shopping is sort of my way to exercise.

My walk ended at Walmart beauty aisle and finding the satisfaction to feed my addiction of buying more makeup products. Seriously this has to stop or someone has to send me to some beauty rehabs. LOL!

But since it’s too late for that, I might as well show you guys what I picked while I was there.

Ever since I saw this on the internet I’m obsessed with getting the new Infallible Paints Eyeshadow by L’Oreal Paris. I grabbed a few shades from their collection to share it for you guys.

But the color that spoke to me the most are Navy Yard and Sunset Fire. The pink, coral and orangy shades definitely scream spring while the navy blue could be used on the outer corner or a dramatic bold look. I’m so glad to have the chance to play with these lovely colors.

L’Oreal Infallible Paint Eyeshadow is a new double-ended cream eyeshadow stick that contains two shades which can be mixed, matched, or worn individually that launched with the L’Oreal Spring 2017 Collection. It’s a cream shadow format very similar concept as the lip color/lip paint. FranklyI really like the creamy texture and the finishing.

The packaging is quite nice as it holds two shades each of which has its own sponge applicator for applicator. The shades are complimentary to each other but a little difficult to wear together at times. The creamy formula is little bit runny consistency that makes blending so easy. When it comes to pigmentation, I think they’re doing alright. The color doesn’t have the best pigmentation but it’s totally buildable for best results.

I want to conclude that the wear is fantastic and I think oily lid users will be quite happy. The color didn’t fade nor did it crease in a 8 hour period that I wore them (some days I had a shade on for 10 hours). They also remove easily which is also nice.

Moving on, I’ve yet another product from L’Oreal and it’s the Visible Lift Blur Blush. I’ve heard of this from beauty gurus and finally jumped on the bandwagon. I’ve the shade Soft Peach which I believe is the first shade from this line. The setback is that you only have 3 color choices to pick.

I might say that it’s lightweight and almost mousse-like texture to it. On application, I feel it has those silicon-y texture close to a face primer. It’s so easy to apply and perfect for spring/summer beach vacation. A little goes a long way with this blush. Just a little squeeze is all you need to apply on your cheekbones.

As much as I like this lightweight and easy to blend blush, let me just say this blush doesn’t come entirely cheap. I paid $16.99 for this bad boy.

Okay, I promise this is the last product from L’Oreal in this haul. It’s not a new product but on contrary it’s a product that has been around for awhile and I keep collecting them till this day. I’m not doing a review on the Color Infallible Eyeshadow since I’ve done that over in my older post which I’ll put a link here.

unnamed (3)

I’ve been obsessed with Sally Hansen‘s Miracle Gel Color Coat for the past few months. So without a doubt, I went back to pick up two more shades which I really like. I got them in the shades Camo Queen and Twiggy. Speaking from my experience, Sally Hansen’s miracle gel completely ticks all the boxes for me. They’ve a huge color selection which is a plus in my book. I like that it’s quick and easy to apply and furthermore, there’s a nice thick brush that comes with it.

I was excited to try the color Twiggy the moment I got home. I shared a picture of my #NOTD on my Instagram if you like to check it out.

I don’t have a gel lamp at home but happy to say that I’ve them on my fingers for the last 5 days and still going strong without any chip. They looked absolutely gorgeous and lasted fairly well as far as nail polish with me goes! I’m usually fairly messy and not the best at painting my own nails but I found the size and thickness of the brush is perfect for covering the whole nail with minimal product getting onto my skin. For this look, I’m wore two coats and it comes out quite opaque. Loving this Miracle Gel polish, I didn’t what I was missing then.

With summer drawing near also means vacation time for us here. I’ve a few short trip planned this summer. This spring/summer-like weather made me want to run out for a fresh mani and pedi. I just love having a pretty set of freshly painted fingers and toes!

Then I saw this Nail Polish Remover Wipes by Avanti which I think will come quite handy because when it comes to removing nail polish, the process becomes considerably less fun especially when I’m on the road. I’m also a sucker for cute and unique packaging so this comes right home with me.

It holds 30 wipes and it’s acetone free whichever that means. It’s my first time trying it so I’m guessing the formula with non-acetone is less harsh on the nails but then again I could be wrong.

unnamed (1)

Last but not least is a random product I purchased by impulse. I just couldn’t resist the cute packaging and design. I justify it by finding a good home for my pills. Look how pretty the blue diamond is on this silver container. I’m obsessed with everything in silver! It’s a win-win!

What do you think of all these beauty haul? Which is your favorite? Don’t forget to comment below.

Hit or Miss – Drugstore Eyeshadow Palettes

Hey what’s going guys! Today I’ll be sharing my hit or miss drugstore eyeshadow palettes as requested. I know how overwhelming it can be trying to find a good eyeshadow palette when you’re not able to test the products properly. Drugstore makeup can be a hit & miss thing but their palettes are definitely stepping up these days. So, I thought it might be helpful to talk with you guys some of the eyeshadow palettes that I’ve tried and I’d recommend if you’re on the fence to pick something from the drugstores! FYI – this is not a sponsored post!

Okay, let’s do this.

I’m going to talk on these three eyeshadow palettes which I picked up from my local drugstore not too long ago.

My girl friend introduced me to this eyeshadow palette. I like that it comes in a huge pan which means you get a lot more products from this palette. The best thing is it’s also travel friendly.

Covergirl TruNaked Palette is available in Nudes, Roses and Goldens and retails for CAD$12.97.

The Goldens shade contains warmer shades of beige, tans, olives and browns. If you’re someone looking for these color eyeshadows, this one is for you. It reminds me a lot of the Urban Decay Naked palette actually. I love the color selection in this palette. They’re so pretty and all the shadows are so versatile. You can create a neutral to dramatic look with these.

There are three matte shades Creme, Cookie and Sierra while the rest are shimmers. I didn’t notice any difference in formula between the different finishes. They all feel the same to me.

They’re very easy to blend out and long lasting. It’s really pigmented while I also notice that it does kicks up some powders, I wouldn’t be too alarm by it. In fact, I found that I don’t need to dig into the pan that hard to pick up products.

I was quite impressed with the formula and quality. They apply so beautifully on eyes and on swatches. I’m loving this palette and it’s a hit for me.

Rimmel London launched these in three shade groupings which are golds and nudes, roses, and smoky shades. I picked this palette because I knew right away that this would be the most wearable choice out of the three palettes.

I have a fairly good track record with Rimmel eyeshadow as I happened be a fan of their Glam Eyes Quad Eyeshadow Palette.

Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Eyeshadow Contouring Palette comes housed in a plastic compact that contains 12 shades. The palette also contains two dual-sided sponge applicators.

Some textures are creamy and smoother than the other. Yes, I’m referring to the matte and shimmery shadows. The matte formula is silky smooth while the shimmery ones seems to be more textured with glittery feels to them. It’s not bad but it would be even better if they’ve have similar formula to the matte shadows.

I was hoping for a much better or improved formula but this doesn’t even come close. Sadly it didn’t bring me to the moon and back 😦  I don’t think the formula is up to par with the Glam Eyes Eyeshadow formulas they’ve done in the past. The shadows blends to sheer and grouping other colors together. It gave me a serious black eye look which certainly isn’t cute at all. That was a deal breaker.

I’m quite disappointed with this palette and wouldn’t recommend it. You can definitely find other brands for the same price point but you’re getting a better quality product.

I’m not going to do a full review here, at the risk of being repetitive but for those of you that didn’t see my original review, I’ll just keep it short and sweet by saying that this formula is quite impressive.

The Wet n Wild Au Naturel eyeshadows are richly pigmented, soft, and glides on so smoothly. To be honest, I really don’t have anything negative to say about this palette. For the price, quality and that it’s cruelty free, I say run to your nearest drugstore and pick one now.

Needless to say, this is a winner in my book.

I hope this review was helpful, and let me know if you’ve found any must-try shades from this line!

Tester Wednesday: Wet n Wild Au Naturel Eyeshadow Palette

Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog! I’m so excited to bring you this review!

First let’s get the deets out of the way.

Wet N Wild Au Naturel Eyeshadow Palette is one of those gems where you can get two palettes for CAD$15.00, which in my opinion is an insanely steal!

These 10-pan palettes are priced at a low CAD$7.97 each and available at Walmart exclusively. The two shades are called Nude Awakening and Bare Necessities. For me, Nude Awakening is definitely the best looking of the two as it has that really rich brown and burgundy shade.

Both palettes feature an assortment of matte, shimmers, satin and sparkle shades. I think it’s fantastic that they included so many mattes, as most of their palettes tend to go the sparkler route.

The two palettes that I picked up are: Nude Awakening (top) and Bare Necessities (bottom)

I like the presentation, it’s sleek and small, Wet n Wild always keeps it very simple. Size wise these palettes are  pretty travel friendly. You can easily fit one into your to-go makeup bag. Convenient isn’t it!

Nude Awakening

As usual Wet n Wild knocks it out of the park with their highly pigmented formula. Very nice color selections in this palette.

This palette features 5 matte shades and 5 shimmer and satin, which is a great combo and should please everyone. There is a very nice matte black that gorgeous burgundy/berry shade and those two darker browns. The tau[e/rosy matte shade is beautiful and the shimmer shade all swatched very smoothly and aren’t all glittery. The 5th shade was a little chunky but it’s also one of the prettiest shades in the palette. Overall, I’m quite impressed with the quality and especially for the price. I don’t have anything bad to say about this palette frankly.

Here are the color shadows breakdown from left to right:

1-A matte cream

2-A pink champagne glitter

3-A rose gold shimmer

4-A bronzey pink shimmer

5-A mauvey pink shimmer

6-A matte rosy brown

7-A matte burgundy

8-A satin brown red with micro glitter

9-A matte chocolate brown

10-A matte black

It also comes with a double ended sponge tip applicator. I don’t use their applicator for blending eyeshadows but if you’re travelling and need to have a last minute touch-up, this would come in handy.

Nude Awakening

Keep your eyes peeled, here’s the color swatches for your eyes to feast!

I wore the Wet N Wild Au Naturel Eyeshadow from the Nude Awakening palette for the past last week and it definitely delivers a beautiful look. I found the shades to be pigmented, easy to blend and they stayed on all day. I didn’t  wear any eyeshadow primer and the staying power lasted for about 6 hours until I took it off in the evening and overall I was very happy with the look I got. I’ve to say that I’m really impressed!

Check out on my instagram for photo of the #EOTD I did last week, if you’re curious to see how I get this look. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram for daily photo uploads.

Bare Necessities

The shimmers in this Bare Necessities palette are very nice too, I only had a problem with the last shade (the glittery black) which has large chunks of glitter and not a lot of pigment. But the gray and brown shades next to that are both really nice. I’m also really digging that 5th shade down a lot.

This palette is the more neutral of the two. It contains more golds and taupes than it’s rosier sister. This palette only contains 2 mattes. The rest are shimmers and satins.

The shades on this palette is amazing as well. You get more shimmery shadows in this one compared to the first palette mentioned above. The color swatches on my bare hand is so pretty but I find the blending needs more effort. I also experience a little fallout from the gold color eyeshadow which is not a big deal for me. I just use a Q-tip to clean it up at the end. Easy peasy!

Here are the color shadows breakdown from left to right:

1-A satin white champagne

2-A light rose gold shimmer

3-A true gold shimmer

4-A bronzey gold shimmer

5-A bronze shimmer

6-A pinkish taupe shimmer

7-A cool time matte gray brown

8-A cool tone matte brown

9- A steal blue shimmer

10-A matte black with silver micro glitter

Get the look:

I’m a huge Wet n Wild fan and I was so excited to get my hands on these. I own a lot of higher end palettes and sure, these drugstore ones will never compare in quality, but I’ve such a love for affordable and accessible makeup.

My favorite of the two is Nude Awakening and I highly recommend it but if you’re a eyeshadow palette collector like myself then I would suggest getting both so you can really have a more varied selection of shades for more looks. At this low price, why the heck not?

Now, what are you waiting for! Run to your nearest Walmart now and grab it before they’re all gone!

Thank you for reading my review! I hope it helped! If you’d like to see more reviews, please feel free to follow me and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me!

Best in Beauty by BH Cosmetics

Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog! Today’s I’ll be talking about a brand that I’m a big fan of. Many of you who knows me will also know that I’m obsessed with eyeshadow palette and frankly speaking I’ve been collecting palettes from BH Cosmetics since I started blogging. I’ve tried many of their palettes before and none is a disappointment and neither is this palette.

Behold, as I present to you this Special Occasion 39 Color Eyeshadow & Blush Palette by BH Cosmetics. This palette is ONLY for $10.00 if you make your purchase now. It’s a super steal! (Note: This is not a sponsored or partnership post. I’m just sharing the good news of a product I truly believe works for me and in the hope that it would help on your decision making to purchase and ultimately that you’d love it as much as I did).

The colors in the special occasion palette are ever so alluring and it can be used to create a subtle neutral every day look and then add glam touches to make it a smokey evening glamour. So much and more to say about this amazing palette …

I’ve tried and played with almost all the shadows in this palette and I can tell you this. There is no fallout and no chalky shades that calls for alert. The formula is very pigmented and easy to blend (should be no problem for professionals and anyone who loves a good pigmented shadows). Blogmas Day 21 – Make Up For Ever #2 Artist Palette (Swatch & Photos)

Palettes are one of my favorite beauty investments. And it’s safe to say that it’s my soft spot especially when it comes to eyeshadow palette. You can discover new beautiful color combinations, introduce new finishes to your eye look, or layer different tones building an everyday look into a smoky evening finish.

Here’s my latest palette I’ve  been loving to be added with my beauty routine revamp.

As soon as I laid my eyes on this Make Up For Ever Artist Palette Vol. 2 Artistic I just knew I had to get one. So I got this with the Sephora VIB sale. Woohoo!

This is a beautiful palette with a nice and bright pop of color schemes and a good size shadow palette you can throw it in your bag. The packaging is slim ad sleek and there you  have it.

I would describe the texture as velvety, and the color payoff as rich and pigmented. The staying power and blend ability has been perfected by the brand, and the silky shimmery colors apply equally as well on bare skin and on a primed eyelid.

The palette houses nine pans, which are arranged into color-coordinating columns of three (or rows, if you turn it sideways). Shown here are the color swatches.

Top-Down (by column)

Left: Eye Shadow in I-872 Pearly Pink ( is a very light, pinky-white with a pearly sheen), ME-910 Electric Magenta (is a light-medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a frosted, metallic finish), S-924 Purple (is a brightened, medium-dark purple with warm, pink undertones and a satin-matte finish) is the Playful Look

Middle: D-552 Crystalline Gray Beige (is a warm-toned, golden pewter with a sparkling, metallic finish), ME-232 Turquoise Blue (is a brightened, medium aqua-blue with a hint of warmer green undertones and a frosted finish), ME-302 Peacock (is a blackened, brown-black with green-teal frost) is the Bold Look

Right: ME-512 Golden Beige ( is a light-medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a frosted, metallic finish), ME-700 Amber (is a golden copper with warm undertones and a frosted, metallic finish), ME-930 Black Purple (is a blackened purple with subtle, warm undertones and a frosted sheen) will be the Sultry Look.

All of that is just to say that they’re very soft. They almost feel like a cream, but they’re not. They’re just incredible formula with great consistency. They’re so so pigmented. I couldn’t stop saying good things about these shadows.

Note that ME910 Electric Magenta Artist Shadow and S924 Purple Artist Shadow can also be used as a blush.

Crazy colorful and crazy pigmented. They’re really easy to blend. I know this is obviously not an everyday look and not everybody will be rocking. This is a fun color you could wear in the summer as oppose to winter. So don’t be afraid to embrace this color.

The downfall is that I noticed some fallout especially the purple and green. Tap your brush before applying to your face. Don’t opt out just because of the fallout. Try at your nearest Sephora and really check this one out.

All told,  I really love this palette, it’s definitely a winner in my book. This post is not sponsored or anything by the way, I bought it with my own money and I’m letting you know how I really appreciate these shadows. I don’t want anybody to miss out on this awesome shadows.

Anastasia Beverly Hill Master Palette by Mario|Try-On & Review

Hi guys! I’m going to jump straight to what I’ve been so excited to show you today actually. Less, chit chat and more pictures shall we!

Long story short, I was a little jumping in to order the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette when it was first released and within a day it was sold out. So, I decided to wait if they released a new one which they did! Yay!

I was super thrilled when I saw the new palette has just been released at Sephora online website. I click the add to basket button, complete my order and the rest is history, you know what I mean!

Can anyone stop me! I know I’ve been talking too much. Let’s jump right in.

Two days later, this bad boy arrived at my front door 🙂

“If you didn’t already know, Mario Dedivanovic is Kim Kardashian’s go-to makeup artist, and the mastermind behind that flawless contouring she has made so famous, so you know this collaboration is the real deal”.

Mario’s been swatching the colors on his Instagram for weeks – proving these neutrals will look incredible on every complexion. He’s used the palette on Kim Kardashian many times already and based on the photos… I’m swooning!

I have an important mission to complete today, which is to convince many of you that Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario applies just as beautiful as it looks in the palette. This post is neither sponsored nor sent to me for review. I paid this palette with my own money (CAD$59.00) but being an eyeshadow palette addict myself, I must share my love for this palette with you guys.

It comes in a sturdy cardboard box with gold letters printed and gold logo on the top cover. Inside, you’ll see a decent sized mirror with a double ended brush. It’s compact and travel friendly.

It comes with 12 shadows ranging from soft neutrals to shimmery metallic and dark sultry shades.

You will get 3 matte shadows in Lula, Isabel and Violeta while the rest are shimmery metallic.

Now feast your eyes on these stunning swatches.

Guys! This is one single swatch of each shade using my finger. Looks how cray the pigmentation is. Aahhhh!!! I’m in ❤

The shadows “KIM” and “MUSE” he specifically named it after Kim Kardashian. That’s so cool! The shades in my opinion seems like a copy of Kim K’s smoky eye. Don’t you think? Comment below your thoughts.

The shadows’ formula are ridiculously smooth and they glides like silky butter. Can we just take a moment to let all these in?

This palettes has a very good selection of warm nude colors and a few pop up color for example the midnight blue (in Claudia) and olive green (Bronx).

Eye look – First of all, I apply Hollywood on my lids and onto my brow bone. Next I use Lula on the crease. Then I blend the outer corner with NYC. I then come back to pat Bronx on my lids and also on bottom lashes. Lastly, I use 5th Ave on my inner corner for extra definition. Complete the look with eyeliner and mascara. It’s so easy I know anyone can do it.

Honestly, you can go wrong with any day time or night eye makeup look. These shadows are very versatile. They’ easy to blend and a little goes a long way with the formula.

I went a little adventurous and as I was experimenting with the eyeshadow an idea flash and an “Eyeshadow Nail Polish is born”. How cool is that! It’s unbelievable you said, well I suggest everyone try this.

For this look I’m using the shade Muse. I apply the shadow on my fingers and use Revlon Gel Shine Top Coat to layer it. And here’s the finishing product. Comment below what do you think of this technique?

You can get this palette from Sephora for CAD$59.00 and this is a limited edition. It’s almost November, you got to run and go get it before they’re all sold out. Believe me that this would make the perfect gift for this coming Holiday.

Are you convinced now that this palette is so versatile and wearable? I recommend you checking it out and let me know what you think? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

I really hope you enjoyed reading this post and I can’t wait to see you again on the next one. Bye!

Thanks so much.

Beauty Products by Avon – First Impression

Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Today, I’m just going to share with you two makeup products I picked up from a bazaar last weekend. We were supposed to go to the flea market but they were closed. So, as we were driving on our way back, we saw a bazaar sign. Long story short, very happy to find this random community center that hosted this event.

First of all, it’s indoor and with air condition. Yay! One thing you would hear me complaining over and over again is the summer heat.

Anyways, I’m going to do a quick first impression review today for you guys. Here they are:-

So, let’s roll …

I don’t remember owning any Avon makeup products before beside a vintage fragrance I got awhile ago. You like to know what I’m talking about, head over to my instagram, girls. I’ve heard of Avon brand per say when I was in my teenage years but most of the talks among my aunts were quite negative that make sense why I never own this brand before.

I was skeptical at first but was completely sold when I saw the packaging of this beautiful sunny embossed product in a nicely packed compact powder.

First up is the Avon Glow Bronzing Powder in P202 Warm Glow for $4.00. Net wt: 0.37 oz. Available in five different shades online for $9.99 (regular $15.00)

Frankly speaking, I’ve quite a few bronzer lying around lazy in my drawer. Yes, I don’t need another bronzer that for sure. In fact, just last weekend, I started to pull out my favorite bronzer from Wet n Wild to wear over the weekend and have been reaching for it since then. It’s summer and what better time than to contour, highlight and bronze up.

This bronzer comes with a nice brown compact packaging and a decent size mirror on the cover. The packaging is nicely made but the formula is one thing they need to improve on. Otherwise, it would be a good product to have.

Who wouldn’t, right! It’s so pretty and it’s summer after all. Sadly, the pros stops here.

Although, I paid $4.00 only for this glow bronzer, thank goodness! I wasn’t impressed at all with the formula. Some of you might liked it and raved abut it but honestly, it’s definitely a miss for me.

The texture is rough and not creamy at all to touch.Pigmentation is okay but it doesn’t wow me. I feel that it’s too powdery and a lot goes along the way. You definitely need to dab a lot of products in order to get a decent finishing look. By then it was too glow-y for my liking.

Here is the swatch directly from the pan. You can see how golden shimmery this bronzer is up closed.

The shade of this Glow Bronzing Powder has more shimmer and fragrance than an actual bronze color do. Yes, it smells really nice but it doesn’t perform to what a bronzer should. It lays down quite a bit of shimmer instead of actual bronzing color.

Overall, I’m quite disappointed with this product. It contains too much luminous effect for a bronzer. Laying it would make skin glow like a disco ball. One last thing, I like to put it out for you, is that it’s lacking in terms of staying power. I was at home the whole time to test it out. I was out to pick up my kid from school by car and that was not even 2 hours of wear, all the glow has already faded.

Conclusion: I really want to like it but it feels like a cheap formula to me. I would not recommend this. In my opinion, I think you could find a much better product from the drugstores for the same price if not cheaper. That’s all I have to say about the glow bronzer.

Next is the quad eyeshadow palette.

Many of you might have already know that I’m obsessed with palettes. So, as you can see here, I got one here with me to share my thoughts and opinion on.

One thing I wanted to mention is that I haven’t heard much about Avon eyeshadow that much and thought of giving it a try. Yay! I was excited to try.

The True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Mocha Latte is brand new to me. The shades in this palette include a Highlight (Champagne), Lid (Bronze), Crease (Brown), and Define (Dark Brown). The shades don’t have specific names, as it’s named after the purpose for each color.

I really like the packaging. It comes with a decent size mirror and a dual-ended sponge applicator. It’s of a sturdy compact packaging with Avon logo printed on the lid.

Available in thirteen pretty shades at Avon online for $12.00. The texture is smooth and easy to blend although I noticed that the matte shades kicked up some powder. Averagely pigmented. There are two mattes and two satin finish in this quad.

They swatch okay but not over the top or that you have to rush out and get it. If you like Avon products, then you would like it.

My dream palette consists of more neutrals, because I tend to go for a more basic eye look while working up my lips with reds (gotta have my reds)! So – I’m really hoping that one day we can have customizable palettes or quads from Avon! Seriously – how awesome would that be!

I hope this post is helpful and interesting. Let me know what you want me which product reviews you like me to do next? Comment it down below.

Thank you again for stopping by to read and I’ll see you again on my next one. Bye!

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eyeshadow Quad – Review & Swatch

I’ve been wanting to try Elizabeth Arden like forever.  And I finally decided to dive in and try this Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eye Shadow Quad.

In this post I’m going to be writing about a stunning eye palette, the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eye Shadow Quad – Posh Purples.

I purchased this Posh Purples by Elizabeth Arden  because it looks like many eye shadow colors that I own. It’s got a good color selection that I can reach for every time I feel like wearing purple eye makeup.

Other limited edition beautiful color eye shadow quad is in Golden Opulence and Chic Browns for US$40.00 online at Elizabeth Arden website.

This palette comes complete with a double-sided eye shadow brush with a decent size mirror in a sleek white compact that adorned with a glided plaque. Charming isn’t it!

These colors are all gorgeous with flattering tones. You get two shimmery, one glitter and matte shadows. It’s quite versatile and that makes it easily to create any look you like.

When it comes to the texture of powders you can really feel the difference between high-street and high-end brands, although I do want to point out that high-street brands are catching up and very fast!

The packaging is super-cute and has a luxury touch about it plus all the colors are indeed flattering!

Can you all see the goodness of these eyeshadows in that pan?  Aaaaahhhh!!!

Another point worth mentioning is that the formula goes on smoothly and lasts all day and night. Amazing results when it comes to blending and buildable to the tone your desire. I would say it has quite a high-pigment color with a crease-resistant finish.

Here are the color swatches on my bare arm. It’s there and it’s in full effect. Every time, I take a picture of a swatch with lighter shades, you barely see it but this pink glitter shadow (on the left) is so pretty. I wear it on my lids and brow bones for this look.

Posh Purples EOTD look without applying a primer where I used this palette to create the look above . The purple color formula is intense and has very good color payoff. Love it!

All in all, not bad at all I would say. It gave nice blended finish look and it’s really easy to bring anywhere you go in your purse.

Which of the Elizabeth Arden makeup products would you like to try?  Leave answer in the comments below. As always I love hearing from you so let me know what you think of this palette!

Gosh Cosmetics Review & Photos

What on earth is mineral pigments???

Mineral pigments are pigments that are created by combining and heating naturally occurring elements. They include ultramarine and spinel pigments such as below mentioned. I did some google search and found some information which I thought would help answer this question.

Gosh  Mineral Color Pigments

In summary: historically, ultramarine blue was derived from the precious stone called lapus lazuli. The use of ultramarine pigments is to create deep blues and violets that are fit for a work of art.

Let’s take a look!

I think this is one of the Mineral Colour Pigments by Gosh  that wouldn’t drive me crazy. I picked it several weeks ago and I’m wearing it today. The bright Apple Green color is pretty and inviting. I typically don’t use mineral powder shadow very often but this shade of light green with a tiny hint of shimmer, I like. This Mineral Colour Powder has a very light and silky texture too.

First, I love the color green and this shade is right up my alley. Second, it doesn’t cause any mess on my face or on my vanity when I’m applying the shadows.

The tricky part is taking out the product from the jar. Instead of dipping or scrambling to pick up the shadow from the tiny hole, what I did was to shake the products into the cover and use my finger to apply them on my lids. No hassle and no mess. I like that!

Jar packaging is cute with a duo plastic lid to protect the mineral powder. Easy to pick up products with eyeshadow brush and it blends well.

It’s silky, soft, finely milled and blends easily onto lids! It doesn’t cause any creases or fall out when I used it with dry application. The texture gives a wet look on swatch as seen on my fingers and directly on bare hand.

Color swatch on dry application on naked hand. Nice color payoff, what you see is what you get especially more with wet application. The product are more intense and bold. It really is not that intense neon apple green, depending on how you use. If used lightly as on the lids or inner corners it is just a normal colored shimmer.

Overall, I feel this is a very nice pigment shadow. When paired with a good primer, this product also wears well into the day without having to touch up. I would recommend if you’re looking for an alternative to the pricey MAC pigments. Available at Shoppers Drug Mart/Pharmaprix.

Have you tried any pigment shadows? Leave your comments which brand is your favorite. I love to read what you think.

That’s it for today’s post and I wish you all a wonderful weekend! Happy Mother’s Day to all mommy in the world.

Thanks for taking the time to read guys. I’ll see you on the next one!

Sharon xoxo
