Drugstore Cruelty Free Makeup Haul – E.L.F. Hit & Misses

Hi guys, today I’ve a few drugstore cruelty free makeup haul for you. I purchased all these stuff and then I said oh!!! it’s time to do a haul and I’m freaking excited! Really, really excited!

There’s quite bit of products I have picked up from Walmart. Yes, aren’t they’re gorgeous! Since the day our Walmart has E.L.F.Cosmetics I’ve been insanely obsessed to get all their stuff. It’s so fun to do a haul. I got many requests to do the E.L.F. makeup products so this is so exciting.

So, I’m going to go ahead and jump into everything.

The shade from (L-R) : Ain’t That Sweet (pinkish), Wine Pot (burgundy wine) and Crush Chic (gold bronze).

Look how cute these smudge pots are. It comes in a clear transparent glass pot and this is so cool. I’m loving it now and I’m going to continue trying them.

These are some gorgeous E.L.F. Smudge Pots. Absolutely stunning! Look how pigmented they are. The first moment I opened up this Crush Chic, I knew I was going to love it. It’s so so pretty!

I love the shades and the formula. Crush Chic would be perfect for the coming holiday. Wine Pot is amazing for fall and Ain’t That Sweet for everyday eye makeup. It’s like they got us covered the whole year round.

The next thing I want to talk about is this Blush in Mellow Mauve.

When showing it on picture is gorgeous but when in person it’s amazing. There’s a little of shimmer in it but I’m going to try it out for a little more before I share my thoughts and opinion on this one. I’m going with the thought of going back and forth with this blush. Everything here is so smooth and pigmented. I just can’t get enough of this. One apparent thing I notice is that it allows you to layer for more depth without looking cakey or clown-y.

Moving on to the next item I got is the Perfect Finish HD Powder in a compact packaging. It comes in a duo layered tier with a decent mirror on the cover. I would recommend this one if you don’t like the loose powder format. The texture is very lightweight and super soft on touched. I can tell you that I like it but not love. I think I’m going to use it a little bit more before I give my final thoughts.

Next thing I want to talk about is this beautiful packaging E.L.F. High Definition Powder in Sheer.  This is studio line product on E.L.F.

It doesn’t necessary have the largest impact when you put if on your face. It really need to take time to test it out for a longer time.

This is the packaging. It’s a matte black old box. It’s a square shape with twist off top. This is a everyday sheer highlighter. These are pigmented and so soft. Very lightweight. It’s intended to be used as finishing powder basically and that’s how I’ve been using it. I want it to be clear it’s not a shimmery shinny product. It’s like a soft natural finish.

I prefer to use a big fluffy powder brush to apply, but sometimes use the puff that comes with it to pat on areas that need extra attention. My only complain is the packaging. It gets very messy after you lift up the sticker. The plastic sifter will get messy.  If you’re not super careful there will be powder EVERYWHERE. I personally is not a big fan of this honestly. It’s so messy and wasteful. I’m just being honest!

Next is this gorgeous Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette by E.l.f Cosmetics. You guys know that I’m obsessed with eyeshadow palettes and you know that I’ll keep on going back to get more palettes every time I see them. I seriously need someone has to chain me down (jk). I don’t I’ll ever stop buying eyeshadow palettes ever. I love all the shades and this Mad for Matte was screaming my name.

If you’re in the market for an affordable and good quality eyeshadow palette, I highly recommend this. It housed 10 amazing neutral matte shadows that suits any skin color. If you’re a beginner to makeup, this palette is a must have. It’s nicely pigmented and it long wearing. The shadows are true to its color and a little goes a long way. The packaging is slim and sleek. Love it!

This is it!

Now I’m going to talk about something I don’t really liked. And it’s the Baked Eyeshadow Palette in California. This is unfortunately a miss because the formula is not long lasting and it takes a lot of work to blend. It’s also very dry and packed with metallic powder with fall out. I just wanted to try them out for you guys but I was having difficulty to apply them on my lids.

So instead, I did some swatches as shown below- I picked the products using my fingers and these are done with a single swipe directly from the pan to my bare hand. They’re insanely shimmery and metallic looking finishing. The pigmentation looks decent unless you use it wet. I tried using them dry which doesn’t show up anything. I really like the shades in the palette but this is just a miss for me.

baked eyeshadow .jpg

I really want to like it but nope this isn’t working for me.

So, that’s all for my haul today. I think it’s safe to say that we all agree that Elf prices just can’t be beat. It’s so difficult to find the balance between quality and price. You know what I’m saying! You got to give some credit to Elf, they’re always creating new things.

What do you think guys? Will you be checking these out soon? Comment below your reply. I love to read your comments.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.

I really hope you enjoyed reading this post and I can’t wait to see you again on the next one. Bye!

Milani Makeup Cruelty Free|Swatches|Reviews

Hey gorgeous,

I’m back earlier than planned. In fact, I have posted one review yesterday. I miss you guys and I just have to kick start with my blogging as soon as I’m able to sit and type. It’s like the “Die Hard” movie.

Anyways, I really want to talk to you about these three makeup products that I have tried and here are my thoughts and opinion on each. Last Friday, I did a beauty haul and since I can’t wait any longer to try them I immediately dived into swatching the colors and here is my review.

A short announcement – Milani cosmetics is a cruelty free brand company. It does not test on animals according to PETA.

These are my beauty haul which I have posted and for convenience sake here are the products from previous post.

But since I’m only going to do Milani’s makeup review today, I have included all these lovely and amazing products which I will dig deeper into. I suggest that you continue to read to find out what makes Milani products to be my next favorite high street brand.

milani ;istick review

Well, I have been eyeing on Milani makeup line for a while and as strange as it may sound I just couldn’t get a hold of this brand where I live previously. But fortunately, I was in the moon and back when I found Milani at my new neighbourhood Walmart 😀

Oh!!! oh!!! I’m so excited that I can’t figure out how do I put this? Okay, let me start by saying that this Milani Color Statement comes in a golden lipstick packaging which I think is unique. I love how the transparent bottom able to show the exact shade to choose from.

This color statement lipstick is very pigmented with a matte finish. It feels creamy and it glide easily. The shade I chose was “Naturally Chic” and this color is neutral nude and natural looking for my lips. I feel pretty wearing it.  milani blush review

Oh my gosh! Just look at how stunning this baked blush is? For $9.88 only a pot I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting a few more shades for my collection. I got Corallina in 08 and I just love, love this blush. It’s so freaking pigmented and look at the color on swatch. It has a soft shimmer which is not completely matte finish but it’s not shinny. I only swipe once with my brush to pick up the formula and look at how insanely the color on my cheekbone was! I have to say this again, a little goes a long way with such incredible pigmentation. Ah..mazing!

It’s soft and smoothly blendable. I love the packaging too. It pretty and cute. Inside the second tier is a round mirror and a semi-circle brush. I’m not so sure of the brush but the mirror is an asset for touch-up<3

milani face powder review

This Milani Illuminating Face Powder  in Hermosa Rose is lovely to look at and undoubtedly great as a bronzer and blush but less than a highlighter. I would say 85% spot on for a multi purpose product. I notice that the lighter shade in this pot doesn’t bring out the color as a highlighter. The rose-y tone blush and bronzer are pretty amazing.

This product is so pigmented and creamy that my heart is screaming with joy. I love the shade I picked and just can’t get enough of it. So, I will be going there for another round of “Beauty’s Touch” very soon. Oh dear! Did I forget to mention that the rose flowers design on this packaging is stunning and dang cute!

If you are looking for a cruelty free makeup products then look no further. You’ve come to the right place. Milani has an amazing collection of products that can’t stop to impress me. So, you rock Milani!

Is there any particular favorite products you like to share in the comment below?

Thank you for the love.

7 Reasons Why I Love Autumn!!!

Every seasons has its perks but none quite like Autumn.  The days where each step we take results in walking on these colorful autumn leaves under my feet. It’s time where you turned off the air conditioner and open the windows! I love autumn because :-

1. a change of makeup

First and foremost, since this is a beauty blog after all, I put this up to be first on my list. A change of season means new makeup! From new trends, new products launches to re-shuffle or clean-up some old makeup from the cluster of makeup products, I would personally ignore most new trends and stick to my staple lip color in Really Red by Revlon and my all time fave I Dream of St Lucia by NYX palette eyeshadows. I love lipsticks therefore for autumn I choose to get darker lipsticks.

revlon matte lipsticknyx I dream of st lucia palette

2. hot chocolate !!!

Ahhhhhh there’s nothing like a warm cup of hot chocolate while reading or watching something good! I love snuggling up with a blanket and grab a good book to read while drinking hot chocolate and having some cookies. Autumn is also a perfect time to watch some exciting new TV series but I think I will be watching youtube on autumn days like this.

hot chocolate

3. birthday celebrations!

October is the time of many birthday celebrations. I have two children whose birthday ffalls on the same month. Planning their birthday parties and inviting friends over to celebrate my children’s party is something we all look forward to. Happy faces of children playing and having lots of fun. My childrens’ happy face expressions on their birthday, that’s priceless!

birthday cake

4. halloween!

Oh well, we all know that halloween is just for children however there are some who are really into it to make it the most beautiful halloween decor I have ever seen. So, whether it’s for children or adults, remember we were once children too. Carving pumpkins is one of the fun things to do.

5. a new wardrobe

a change of season means a change of ne wardrobe. It’s always an exciting thing! For me, out comes the scarves, sweaters, cardigans and high boots. Also, a nice handbag to go from movies to hayrides.

6. everything is nicer

Waking up in Autumn morning feels so nice. Fresh air and sunny mornings peaking through the curtail rails. Golden leaves of amber, red, yellow, orange and brown covering the pathway. Taking a stroll is something I love to do, to feel relaxed and an exercise for me too. I realised just how amazing nature is.

nature autumn

7. countdown to Christmas!

After halloween, we are getting ready for the countdown of Christmas spree. Oh what a joy and exciting things to do. From wishing list to buying gifts this is one of the best time of the year that I love very dear. Waiting for the first flake of snow. Let it snow! Let it snow!

christmas season

I’d love to know what you love about Autumn/Fall in the comment box below!

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day.

Everyday Minerals|FREE Custom Sample kit

Hey friends, I just want to share with you some of the samples that I received recently. They are my free custom sample kit which I ordered online from Everyday Minerals and all I have to do is pay for the shipping costs which is about $3.79.

So, I got these 7-piece custom sample kit :

3 pcs for face – lanai in the sand(bronzer), poipu-lar shores(bronzer) and finishing dust(finishing powder);

2 pcs for cheek – peony petal and cameo(blush);

2 pcs for base – golden beige (matte base) and honey(jojoba base)

Okay, let’s get to the point. I got these samples to try the products and also to check the color swatch if it works for me instead of buying a regular size and then decided that it doesn’t. So, I think this is a wiser way to actually pick up any makeup products without much hesitation after sampling them.

These samples have been lying around on my desk for awhile and I decided to try it on today.

I started with their Golden Beige (3w) with peony petal as the blusher and poipu-lar shores the bronzer for today’s makeup look. Since, they were all in powder format, I have a hard time applying them. The powder foundation didn’t stick well and I have to dap my brush with water and then mixed it to make it easier to blend as if it’s a liquid foundation. Maybe, it’s just me, I’m so used to liquid and cream foundations. I like the smooth feeling on my face and it has medium coverage. Would definitely need to build-up for full coverage.

Since I have dry skin, I tried to avoid applying too many layers. Like always,  I usually put my moisturizer on before foundation but sad to say, I can still see dry patches on my face with these foundation. My face does looked more radiant and fresh except it’s a little drier for dry skin person. Not too bad for those who prefer powder foundation. The color I chose was a little lighter than my normal color tone. Luckily, this is just a sample and I know now that I’m going to use this as my standard guide on how light or dark shade I should get when ordering online.

The bronzer and blusher works perfectly well for me except that the powder were flying everywhere while I was putting them on. It’s a little bit messy though. I have all finger prints now on my keyboard. Oops!

Overall, I like the color blush and also the bronzer because it’s quite pigmented and soft. The bronzer did it’s job by contouring my face well. I would love to them in creamy formula but that’s just me. For those who loves natural mineral makeup, I would recommend you start with Everyday Mineral. The price is reasonable and the quality is good for a mineral product.

My conclusion is that these samples from Every Minerals are all good products. Except that I need to use them wet instead of dry when it comes to using these pretty formulas.

If you like to try their samples, just click here to get your free samples. You choose the shades you like, how great is that?

Have you tried any mineral makeup products? If you do, which kind and brands do you like most?

Thank you for reading.
