Brand Spotlight – NYX Cosmetics

This year, I’ll be adding some exciting contents here in the blog. For a starter, I’ll be doing a brand spotlight which focusing on a specific brands which I’ve tested, new finds and old favorites that I discovered. Mostly are in the drugstore price point category. I planned on posting them on a monthly basis Brand Spotlight.

So, without further ado, let’s get comfy and chat beauty!

Today I’m sharing 3 brand spotlights for the month of January that gravitates me the most. I’ve definitely been transitioning out of my dark, matte lip phase and into some lighter neutral nude of late. Don’t get me wrong if you think I’m going to stop rocking my red lipsticks either.

I picked these up at my local Pharmaprix (aka Shoppers Drug Mart) when they had their spend your reward points during shopping trip last December.

First thing first, is the

I like that it’s so easy to apply, thanks to the doe-foot applicator. I find it’s pigmented enough that you usually only need one swipe, although I usually go for two coats to be safe.

This lip color is truly matte, creamy, long wearing, and the color is absolutely beautiful. I love it.

Bedtime Flirt is that girly nude with a little bit of pink. I tend to go for brown/mauve toned lips, but I love this for something more feminine. A perfect MLBB (“my lips but better”) shade for me. It’s almost as if NYX Cosmetics intensified my natural lip color, then bottled it in liquid lipstick form! It sits on my lips pretty nicely once set and it doesn’t seems to transfer at all. I like that it’s long lasting too.

My current favorite shade from the range is Bedtime Flirt since this is the only shade I picked up for now. It’s just such an easy shade to wear. Texture wise it feels whipped/mousse like when applied, drying to a matte finish.

The only downside I think the worst (for me) is that sometimes it feels sticky on my lips. I don’t know if I got the bad batch but I hate that feeling. I wish it wasn’t sticky because I really find the color to be so pretty for an everyday lip.

Overall though, I really like the shades of the lipsticks from this line. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who hates sticky feelings on the lips.

If you have been reading my blog, you know that I’ve combination of normal to dry skin. I chose the dewy because most of my makeup is semi-matte looking and my skin extra dry in winter. So this is a nice product to have as far as dewy finish setting spray is concerned. You guys know that I like anything that makes my skin looking healthy and fresh.

This is my first purchase of setting spray from a drugstore brand and I was curious to see try it out. I like that it holds up my makeup in place.

The spritzer sprays fine mist. I like to spritz it upwards and let the mist settle on my face. That way, I avoid any droplets that might fall on my face and disturb the makeup. When I was spraying on my face, I can feel immediately a film holding on my face. I felt like I have a thin, transparent and shiny cover on my face. The smell doesn’t bother me that much.

My overall thoughts, if you’re a person who uses a lot of mineral makeup or lot of powder makeup, you can give this a try. If you use liquid or cream foundation, which by itself imparts some dewiness, then you can skip this spray.

Since publishing my Love Contour All post, I thought it’s fitting to include it here as part of the brand spotlight product to be featured.

What beauty products are you loving in January? If there’s anything you have questions about to would like to recommend just leave me a comment so we can chat beauty! I’ve some exciting post coming up next week. So, please stay tuned!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog. I hope to see you all again on my next post. Bye!

NYX Beauty – Drugstore [Pics Heavy]

Hey Beauties! Dang that mid-week crisis. So anyway, I’ve been bad once again, but managed to gather a little something to put for the blog! Three posts in two days from ME, that’s a marathon in my planner! lol!

Press Samples

I was so excited when I was send these two NYX products from Galerie Beaute de Pincourt to review on. I enjoy testing out new products to share my thoughts and opinion with all of you. I’m preparing a special something for you to thank you for your constant support. I’ll reveal it in a week so don’t forget to stay tuned.

Many of you may know that NYX Cosmetics is also my favorite drugstore brand which was so hard to get before in many parts of the province such as the one I live in. But things changed for the better, good news is NYX Cosmetics is now available at all Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix with a good selection of product lines in-store. Yahoo!!!

I wanted everything from the hardcore Prismatic line because I hate runny eye makeup! I’ve never used this NYX Prismatic Shadow before and boy was I glad to try it now.

Available in twelve kaleidoscope metallic shades for CAD$8.99 with net wt: 0.043 oz. Just to point out that the sample I got here with me is the Prismatic Shadow in Girl Talk which you can find them at Pharmaprix Pincourt or NYX locations.

The color payoff was exactly what I was looking for: a nice shimmer pale pink that didn’t overwhelm the other colors it was blended with. Beautiful pigmentation with just one swoosh. Perfect as a highlight on eyes, nose, cupid bow and on the lids. I swear that Girl Talk is definitely made for highlighting. If you have special function or going clubbing, this I recommend.

This is seriously pigmented stuff! I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but it’s true. I tried this today and literally used half a drop to cover my entire lids. Awesome! Also, it’s great for mixing so I’ll definitely buy some more outrageous colors next time!
I’m very pleased with this product and would definitely going back for more. Very quickly, I have Liquid Gold in mind, next up on my purchase.

NYX Wonder Pencil in Light shade is a concealer, eye brightener, reverse lip liner in one.

Whether it works as a concealer, frankly I’m a little on the fence about it. It’s too small for under eyes so I definitely think this is meant for spot treating. It’s kinda hard to blend but does conceal little, little spots. I can see this working as a spot concealer for sure. I would like it better if NYX would have produce more than just 3 colors to choose from.

It works better on waterline or tight line application without tugging.  It does naturally brighten my eyes up when first applied though. I like the look of this better than a stark white. It lasted me for a good 3 hours wear on my waterline. The formula is creamy and nicely pigmented.

There’s nothing especially unique about it except all it is, is a nude liner if you wear it as a reverse lip liner. I applied it my lips and boy my lips look SUCCULENT, as if I had lip injection (hahaha!). But yeah, super standard nude liner with a multitude of uses, and a reasonable price.

I’ll use this on rotation with the other nude eyeliner I have. If you like to have all in one pencil, then you’re going to like this.

Available at Shoppers Drug Mart, Pharmaprix Pincourt or NYX online.

What do you think of this new (to me at least) NYX products? Have you tried any of this and if yes leave your comment what you think.

That’s it for today girlfriends! I hope to see you again on the next one 🙂

Thanks for taking the time to read and I’ll see you on the next one! If you have any questions or would like me to do a more in-depth post on any of these products, please  let me know – you can leave a comment below, on my Facebook page or email me.

It’s been along time since I’ve done a blush review and I’m excited to share this NYX Mosaic Powder with all of you. The mosaic tiles sort of reminds me of the puzzle game my son used to play. Anyways, let’s roll:-

On a more serious note, can you believe how insanely pretty this blusher is? The formula is highly pigmented and smooth. On top of that the color payoff is incredible with each shades portray different color hues in this pan. I chose the shade in 05 Silk this time and love it, love it, with a ❤ on it. The tone is of dark pink-gold with shimmers which is very nice. This blusher is selling for $10.99 at my local drugstore for a net wt: 0.2 oz. It’s available in ten magical shades to choose from. You can find them at drugstores, Target US and NYX Cosmetic online.

Hunk by NYX|Review|Ipsy Bag

It’s review time!

You probably have seen many of this Butter Lipsticks by NYX but have your tried their spring color collection yet? Well, if you haven’t – please run to your nearest drugstore and pick one after reading this will ya!

nyx butter lipstick

This Butter lipsticks comes in 22 amazing shades from Nude to Glam. I got mine in Hunk -blue violet tone which is more of cooler undertone. It’s a gorgeous shade that is not too dark on lips. I love how it glides and love the smooth buttery formula that moisturizes lips. I don’t smell any scents on Hunk.

I notice that the lipstick in tube looks darker shade than on color swatch. Anyways, I prefer the color on lips better but I wouldn’t mind for warm-purple color tone either. Behold the color swatch and also the color transfer below.

I love, love this beautiful shade that makes lips looks sweet as candy. It’s not sticky and you can feels like it melts on your lips. Excellent color payoff and rich buttery pigmentation. I have been wearing it everyday since I got it and have received many compliments on how pretty the shade was. It has a lovely satin finish, don’t you think?

Will I repurchase? I am 100% sure that I will. This is a winner in my book. Great value with excellent quality product. Hurrah for NYX! I recommend to anyone who is reading this.

What do you think of this lip shade? Will you wear them?

Thanks for stopping by.

Hot Singles Eyeshadow|Swatch|Review

nyx eyeshadow

Okay, I’m impressed with this Matte Yellow eyeshadow by NYX which I pick up recently at Target. Net wt: 0.053 oz. It’s in the hot singles category with a gazillion shades to choose from, lol. I’m serious, I haven’t seen a single pot having so many awesome matte color shades. It’s totally mind blowing with their neutral pick to intense shade … that’s just insane amount of color range. Cherry on top of the cake, NYX product is cruelty free.

You may wonder, why do I choose yellow, right? Well, probably because I’m seeing more daylight and yellow makes me happy. Yellow is such a cheerful color and brighten up my day and mood as well. Or maybe, spring is calling which reminds me of the beautiful tulip flowers.

But this matte eyeshadow is very intense and NYX aren’t joking when they said that. Good pigment with nice color payoff however they aren’t as creamy as their regular matte eyeshadow singles. Which is a shame, in my opinion! I think it would have played out incredibly only if it has more buttery or creamy formula in it. Otherwise, it’s does blend well and the color of this yellow is strikingly matte.

I did two eye makeup versions using this Matte Yellow in STFU with Annabelle Kohl eyeliner in Rhone and Covergirl Lash Blast Volume in Very Black. Eyebrows I’m using Prestige Brow Perfection in Medium/Deep.

Overall, I’m happy with my NYX purchase and will be wearing it this spring. So, there you have it my review and eye makeup look for now. Until next time, stay beautiful and keep on smiling!

What do you think of this product? Would you pick them up? What do you think of my yellow eye makeup look? Love to hear your comment, please ❤

Thanks for reading.
