Boe Professional Beauty Advent Calendar|LE

Hi everyone! It’s insane that Christmas is in just less than three weeks. I don’t know about you but for me, I like to shop early for friends and family so to avoid all that hustle and bustle of shopping malls. All been said, I actually enjoy shopping at this time of the year. Apart from buying gifts for friends and family, I like buying gifts for myself too.

I stumbled upon this cute 12 days Advent Calendar by Boe Proessional when I was grocery shopping. You know I’m a sucker for cute things so I got it even though I know I don’t really need it. I’ve tons of makeup that I can’t finish using but then … it’s so affordable I can’t turned it down.  Long story short, I was too excited so I cheated and open them all to show you guys.

So, let’s get started since it’s going to be a long post and so you might want to get cozy.

Boe Beauty Advent Calendar

A twelve days Advent Calendar makeup goodies by Boe Professional for C$11.23 that’s just a ridiculously insane deal if I may say so. I didn’t have high expectation for product that’s less than $2 but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these products.

Since Boe Beauty is an Australian beauty brand, it’s not a widely known brand to us here and it’s not that easily available in stores, but I had a chance encounter with it at my local grocery store. It’s an Australian cosmetic brand where you can order your products online exclusively at BigW.

Lip products

First thing first in the advent calendar in no particular orders are the Colour Shine Lipstick and the Lip Shine Gloss. Gorgeous soft pink and mauvy shades that will leave your lips looking pouty and glossy.

Lips color swatches

I really like the colors of these swatches. It’s nice and it got a different texture that’s light and nicely pigmented. I don’t know if you can believe me if I told you that I’ve a lot of lipsticks but I don’t think I’ve pink shade like that. This lipstick gives your lips a sheer and satin-y look. I think this shade will look nice on any skin types. If pink is your color then you’re going to like it.

I notice the lip gloss has a slightly fruity scents and the formula not sticky at all. It feels comfortable and moisturizing on the lips which I really appreciate.

Boe Beauty Bronzer

Next are the Sunkissed Bronzer, Shimmer Shadow and Body Glitter. The packaging is of drugstore plastic material. It’s very light and you could easy throw in your purse and go. The downside is the compact packaging which I find to be a little on the filmsy side. I was so scare it might drop and break but for less than $2 product with consistent formula, I think I can live with that.

Color swatches Boe Beauty

Can we all just take a minute to appreciate how pretty these swatches are? They’re all incredible pigmented. I haven’t wear body glitter for a long while so I’m very excited to give this a try. As for the bronzer, I find it a tad lighter for my skintone but I can wear it as a blush without any problem. I think my favorite product out of these three is the shimmer shadow. It’s so pretty and highly pigmented! This powder shadow looks almost like cream in texture. It blends effortlessly and it makes my eye looks bigger and more popped! I can totally see myself reaching for it this holiday season. I urge you to try them for yourself and see!

Boe Beauty Eye Products

Moving clockwise is the Tinted Eyebrow Gel, Eyeliner, Flirty False Lashes, Khol Pencil and Curling Mascara. You guys might’ve noticed that I adore eyeliners and when I saw that this calendar not only has one but two liners, I was thrilled.

First look at the applicator and packaging of this mascara, it’s pretty basic like any other drugstore brands. I can’t wait to test it out on my straight lashes and report back if it actually works.

Same goes with the falsies. It does look a little intimidating to me at first but I’m all about trying new things for you guys. Frankly, I’ve never wore such a big falsies before so I can tell it’s going to be exciting.

Both liners glide on smoothly and evenly on the lid. The khol pencil stays on much longer than the liquid ones. I’m a huge fan of liquid liner but this khol pencil just speaks to me. I’m quite impressed with the quality and the staying power.

Next that I’m going to talk about is the eyebrow gel that’s so amazing. It actually works well in keeping all my fussy brow hair intact while making brow drawing a breeze. I believe you can get this individual product at BigW if you only want this particular eyebrow gel.

Boe Professional

Last but not least, we’ve the Radiant Highlighter and Lip Pencil.

I really like the silicon and creamy feel of this formula. It does gives a smooth layer of highlighter but not those you’d be expecting from high-end brands. It gives you a nice reflection under the light but definitely not that right on your face type of highlighter.

Boe Beauty swatches

I don’t see the results I wanted from the highlighter but if you’re a beginner to makeup. This would be a great place to start.

Did I tell you that I’m been obsessed with the lip pencil! It’s a soft muted fuchsia that’s creamy and smooth in texture. I like how easy this applies on lips.

boe beauty advent calendar

I think this is a great find if you’re new to trying out makeup or on a budget buy. The quality is okay for the price you pay.

I hope you guys enjoyed a little sneak peek of this advent calendar and don’t forget to leave me a comment and let me know what you picked up just recently.

Have you heard or seen this brand in store?

Sephora Favorites: Give Me Some Nude Lip – Which One Won?

Hey guys! What’s up this week? Today I’ve a new series coming to you and it’s the “Which One Won?” I got this inspiration after watching my favorite beauty youtuber talking about it.

If you’re new to my blog, Hello & Welcome! Come and join us and I would love it if you could click the subscribe button on the right hand side.

If you’re struggling to find the perfect NUDE shade for spring, you’re not alone. Trust me, I’ve been there and I understand how it feels like. What I did differently this time is having this Sephora Favorites set for lip. This is a great set if you want to try out a nice range of nudes! I was never able to pick out a nude for myself, but this set made it easier to see which colors would work for me.

This Sephora Favorites set launched about a week ago online and because I’ve 2-day flash shipping, I already have it in my hot little hands.

As you know, nude lips are all the rage. I don’t love all nude lips, but I’ve begun to enjoy some mauve/pink nudes a lot. My trick is to basically tried out all these favorite nudes that best compliment my lip color. Continue reading if you care to know which nude ones win?

I’m excited to get started.

The set contains five lipsticks and a lip pencil and comes in a cute pink lip shaped box. It retails for $28 USD/$33 CND. So, you get two full sized products plus three deluxe sized items isn’t a bad deal. Now it just depends on if those full sizes make the set worth it, right!

In this set, you’ll get the following:

Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Honeycomb (beige nude)
Buxom® Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian (nude)
Estée Edit The Barest Contour lip Liner in 05 In The Buff (satin nude)
Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème in 246 Slow Burn (creamy nude rose)
Too Faced Cosmetics Melted Matte Liquified Matte Long Wear Lipstick in Queen B (matte soft mauve)
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 1993 Comfort Matte (medium brown)

This set is from Sephora’s Spring Collection 2017.

So, I think I’ll start with something that I’ve been wearing and loving.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème

This item is quite a treat for someone like me who will probably never pay for a full size Marc Jacobs. I’ve the same mini in the shade Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and totally love the formula and the lovely shade.

This one is the Marc Jacob’s Le Marc Lip Crème in Slow Burn. Look how cute and luxe the packaging is! I really love this nude shade very much. I would say the shade and consistency to be of creamy nude rose. I like that it gives my lips that my lips but better kinda look. I know I’m going to have a good wear of it. It’s definitely not going last long but I will enjoy it till it runs out.

Too Faced Cosmetics Melted Matte Liquified Matte Long Wear Lipstick

Really, could Too Faced have found a longer name for this lipstick? This is a 0.08 oz/ 2.3 ml in Queen B which is a soft mauve matte. The consistency of lip cream is great on this one. Not overly drying and it glides like a dream. It feels comfortable on lips and no tacky feeling on it.

Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick

The next one is called Honeycomb which is described as a nude beige. Honestly, this is my first love with Bite lipsticks.  I’ve always wanted to try this brand and glad that I did. They’re comfortable to wear and the color payoff is very good. It makes me look a little washout with this nude.

Estée Edit The Barest Contour lip Liner

This lip liner is one of their full size lip product from this box. It’s in the shade In the Buff which is of a satin nude. I find that this shade works really well with all the other shades in the box.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick

The second full size product is this beautiful medium brown nudes, but this brown is rubbing me the wrong way. It’s giving me a dark brown vibe, but it could be different on the lips or skin toned.

Buxom® Full-On Lip Cream

The shade I got here is White Russian. I would say this is shade  can simply described as nude. It has a pleasant cooling and minty type of tingle on lips but doesn’t sting. This is the palest of all the shades in the box.

I love the color selections in this set. They’re all nude, but different nudes – pinky, brown, mauve… they’re all amazing! Note that, a  full size Urban Decay lipstick retails for ($21 CAD) and Estee Edit liner ($24 CAD), both of which are in full size.

I’ve voted and Marc Jacob Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème is the winner! I’ve light to medium skin-tone and this shade suit my lips perfectly. Finally, I’ve found my perfect suitor!

This set is definitely a bang for your buck. If you’re on the fence to pick the products, this set is a great way to try a lot about without breaking your wallet.I think their favorites sets are always a great value and this one is no different.

Let me ask you this, if you’ve the chance to try out different brands and colors for a super price – would you take it? My answer is obvious, I’d take it anytime.

Overall, I ‘m happy that I decided to pick this up! Love the great value and good quality brands. They’re perfect, I couldn’t ask for me. This is a limited edition set, so if you’re in the market for a nude lipsticks then I recommend you put your order in now. It’s retailed for $33 CND ($103 value) on Sephora’s website.

What are your favorite lipstick brands? Sound off in the comments!

Smashbox Santigolden Age Legendary ~ Hot Lava, Lip gloss

Smashbox Hot Lava Lip glossHot Lava lip gloss

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Today, I’m going to share with you a review on this awesome lip gloss. The Santigolden Legendary Age lip gloss by Smashbox selling for $12.00 in 0.2 fl oz when it was on special. I purchased it online with some other makeup from Sephora. And I got mine in Hot Lava color. Another color that was available was the All Gold E’vrything (copper sheer). It arrives a month ago and I haven’t got the chance to try it on and make my haul. I have reviewed the Sephora color bronze last few weeks. You can check back on my previous post.

I’m always super excited went it comes to makeup. It’s just that I have too many and all of them are asking for me to pick them up. So this time, I’m going to do lip gloss and yes I’m getting a head of myself. I need to do my mini haul from Sephora. Anyways, I’ll get to the bottom of this. A Sephora mini haul will be out this Friday.

Smashbox Santigolden Age be Legendary Hot Lava Lip gloss package

On Sephora’s website, it says One-of-a-kind glosses hand-picked by artist Santigold to be worn alone or layered over other shades to give them new life! Wow…. that’s great. I’m going to try it.

Lip gloss by SmashboxLip smack x

I used my lip liner by Essence in 08 on Red Blush and then I go ahead and apply the lip gloss. Just with 1 swipe top and bottom I have full lips coverage and it’s not very tacky. It get’s better after wearing it for 10-15 minutes. Instead it does makes my lips feels moisturized.

The color is a pretty red/orange-y. Love the vibrant color. I did a kiss-proof  transfer and yes it does transfer unless I wore a lip primer before as the base and then the lip gloss to prevent transfer. Long lasting, you bet it did. I have worn it for more than 3 hours time including drinking coffee and chewing on a piece of baguette as I am write this post. It’s still holding on.

Guess what, I tried to put a bit of extra gloss in the center of my lips and it leaves my lips looked more pumper pout. It has a nice aroma flavor scents.  I’m also drawn to the artistic sense put on the packaging which I find it quite lovely.

I’m satisfied with the lip gloss by Smashbox and the color is amazing for summertime 🙂

Have you tried Smashbox lip products before? I love to read your comments.

Thank you for reading and have an amazing day!

Everyday Minerals|FREE Custom Sample kit

Hey friends, I just want to share with you some of the samples that I received recently. They are my free custom sample kit which I ordered online from Everyday Minerals and all I have to do is pay for the shipping costs which is about $3.79.

So, I got these 7-piece custom sample kit :

3 pcs for face – lanai in the sand(bronzer), poipu-lar shores(bronzer) and finishing dust(finishing powder);

2 pcs for cheek – peony petal and cameo(blush);

2 pcs for base – golden beige (matte base) and honey(jojoba base)

Okay, let’s get to the point. I got these samples to try the products and also to check the color swatch if it works for me instead of buying a regular size and then decided that it doesn’t. So, I think this is a wiser way to actually pick up any makeup products without much hesitation after sampling them.

These samples have been lying around on my desk for awhile and I decided to try it on today.

I started with their Golden Beige (3w) with peony petal as the blusher and poipu-lar shores the bronzer for today’s makeup look. Since, they were all in powder format, I have a hard time applying them. The powder foundation didn’t stick well and I have to dap my brush with water and then mixed it to make it easier to blend as if it’s a liquid foundation. Maybe, it’s just me, I’m so used to liquid and cream foundations. I like the smooth feeling on my face and it has medium coverage. Would definitely need to build-up for full coverage.

Since I have dry skin, I tried to avoid applying too many layers. Like always,  I usually put my moisturizer on before foundation but sad to say, I can still see dry patches on my face with these foundation. My face does looked more radiant and fresh except it’s a little drier for dry skin person. Not too bad for those who prefer powder foundation. The color I chose was a little lighter than my normal color tone. Luckily, this is just a sample and I know now that I’m going to use this as my standard guide on how light or dark shade I should get when ordering online.

The bronzer and blusher works perfectly well for me except that the powder were flying everywhere while I was putting them on. It’s a little bit messy though. I have all finger prints now on my keyboard. Oops!

Overall, I like the color blush and also the bronzer because it’s quite pigmented and soft. The bronzer did it’s job by contouring my face well. I would love to them in creamy formula but that’s just me. For those who loves natural mineral makeup, I would recommend you start with Everyday Mineral. The price is reasonable and the quality is good for a mineral product.

My conclusion is that these samples from Every Minerals are all good products. Except that I need to use them wet instead of dry when it comes to using these pretty formulas.

If you like to try their samples, just click here to get your free samples. You choose the shades you like, how great is that?

Have you tried any mineral makeup products? If you do, which kind and brands do you like most?

Thank you for reading.
