Best Summer Drugstore Nail Polishes – Review & Swatches

When I saw these Sinful Colors nail colors collection at my local Pharmaprix (Shoppers Drug Mart) I couldn’t help but picked up a few of their spring-summer nail colors that caught my eyes. This is a collective best summer drugstore nail polishes which I’ve been wearing from spring through summer.

I believe I got some nail colors from my local Dollarama and also Walmart if I remember correctly. And they’re like $1.50 and $2.00 a bottle depending where you got them. It’s for 0.5 fl oz of products. A fairly good amount for the price.

I like sharing my NOTW (nail of the week) on my Instagram and other social media scheduled every weekend. If you’re curious to see my weekend manicure or what color nails I’m wearing then hit here to go to my Instagram.

Okay, enough of me babbling and more serious talk. I’ve to say that Sinful Colors makes really good nail polishes and I’ve been really impressed by it. I’ve tried many difference drugstore brands such as OPI, ESSIE, L’oreal, Wet n Wild and this seems to have the staying power on par with the rest.  And what’s even better is that they’re dirt cheap! You got to love the price tag.

Here is the instagram picture I took of the polish. This really doesn’t do it justice. It looks much better in person when sunshine glare isn’t interfering with seeing how rich this color is.

I was wearing a Purple and Fuchsia shades nail color, with an added finishing touch of Revlon in 441 Radiant. So what do you guys think? Comment below, alright!

  • A wide color selection to choose from
  • Affordable price
  • Available in many drugstores
  • No streaking
  • Semi-transparent that can build up to complete opacity
  • Long staying power especially on the toes (stayed on for a month)
  • No chipping for a week

  • Dries slowly
  • Needs a few coats to get the opacity finish

Recommend: Yes, you got to try them. I’ll be going back to pick up more shades for the coming Fall. This wraps up my today’s best drugstore nail post which based on their quality and affordable prices.

Tell me which color have you collected from Sinful Colors collection line? I love to hear your comments.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed reading this post and thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope to see guys again on my next post. Bye!

Sharon xoxo

Schnapps Out Of It! OPI Nail Polish

OPI Nail POlish

Today, I’m going to do one more Dollar store review on the OPI Nail Polish I picked up recently. I’ve put a link here if you missed the previous post (full review).

I’ll be starting my holiday wish list soon and to warm up the holiday spirit, I’m jumping into a intermediary nail polish color first. A shade which is not to bright or bold red yet 😉

I had a drugstore brand OPI Nail Polish that I was in LOVE with. I bought this by eye for the color and it was perfect! The shade to review is this beautiful.  Schnapps Out Of It by OPI!

For $3.00 at Dollar Store instead of $9.00 at a drugstore, I’m definitely loving the shade and the price lol! An epic deal, if you asked me.

This is a brown/peachy/rosy color that’s almost a creme finish, with just a tiny bit of pearliness to it. To me, it looks like a pretty Terracotta shade which I really like. Net wt: 0.5 fl oz in a staple glass OPI bottle. I feel that it applies easily and has good opacity. It goes completely opaque when it’s in 1-2 coats and it dried easily and is not streaky. The formula applies evenly and wears well which is a big plus if you are rough on your hands. It lasts about 4-5 days on me (since I’m very hard on my nails) so I was well pleased.

It’s a great color, but some might find it too mature or not the classic red for the Holiday but I want to try a warm up color for the season and “Just because …”. Glad to report in this review that I’ve been wearing OPI nail polish the past few times and everytime I wear it, I’m always reminded of how much I like this polish. 🙂

opi nail polish nagelock

Up closed picture of the tip applicator. It picked up the formula nicely and I’m going to mention it again, easy to blend.

One coat of the nail polish and you can immediately see how opaque it was without top coat.

The color is very neutral and can be worn at the office and anywhere without screaming ” I’m wearing nail polish!!”… It’s a good option if one is tired of wearing red or nude. It literally goes with everything! I fully recommend this product. As for me, I’ll totally repurchase this OPI nail polish again!

Which color nail polish are you rocking this Holiday? I love to hear your comments below.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read. Stay Beautiful!

The More You Have, The More You Need!

Dollar Store Mini Haul

So after my obsession with eyeshadow palettes as many of you who knows me by now my craving for eyeshadows have gone to an insane height. My eyeshadow collection is confirmed full as last weekend but yet, just a few days ago I was happily stashing in a few more palettes from the Dollar Store. Here I’ve rounded up five products that are perfect for the Holiday season. Best of all, they won’t break the bank. Each product is less than $5.

Well, one thing I know is that I love trying new products and very excited every time when I’m sharing my thoughts and opinion with all of you.

I have these five products which I just picked up yesterday. I’m excited so let’s just get started.

Cover Girl Exact Eyelight for blue eyes

I have this Exact Eyelight Quad Eyeshadow for Blue Eyes by Covergirl. This is Quad shadows comes in a standard clear plastic drugstore packaging with a sponge tip applicator. To my surprise it even has an eyeshadow brush together in the box. For $3.00 you get the quad eyeshadow with a decent size eyeshadow brush.

There are four nice eyeshadows and I apologized that you’re only seen three. The last shade was hidden and it’s a Navy blue. All the shades are average and I noticed that only the first two lighter colors have high pigmentation while the Green and Navy Blue feels drier and low color payoff. They’re not pigmented at all and the colors just doesn’t cut it. I wanted to mention. I’m disappointed with the formula but I’ll continue trying them and will give my final verdict on my next post.

Christmas Greeting Cards

I’d be lying if I said I’m not excited with the coming holiday season. Christmas is the time of sharing and giving and I just love the atmosphere and the holiday decorations. It’s the best season of all and I’ll be busy mailing Season Greeting cards to family and friends. I still love sending cards by mail than e-cards. Maybe, that’s just me. If you love to get a card from me, you can pm me your address 🙂

Mariposa Metallic Chic Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve said before and I’m going to say it again that eyeshadow palette is my favorite topic to talk about. When I saw this Mariposa Metallic Chic Eyeshadow Palette at Dollar Store, my jaw almost drop. Unbelievable! $3.00 for twelve eyeshadows is seriously a non-brainer. But, I don’t care since I got to try something new from this brand again.

There are two other shades available and since I’m planning to do some holiday season makeup look with metallic shadows, I dive in immediately to grab it. I like the color selections and the color placements in this palette. But one visible downside I notice would be the narrow color pan. I tried using a different brush but still I think using your pinky or a small flat brush works better to pick up the shadows. Another point to mention is the size of the products are decent and all could work for a glam look.

OPI Schnapps Out Of It! Nail Polish
OPI Schnapps Out Of It! Nail Polish

This shade just speaks to me and I got it for it looks so pretty in the bottle. Regular drugstore price is $9.95 and I got it at Dollar Store for $3.00. I’m not regretting purchasing it. Schnapps Out Of It! is described by OPI as mauve. It reminds me more of a rosy terra cotta kind of shade. There is also a hidden silver shimmer, it’s not very obvious on the nail…even in the sun. The formula is really really great, if you like it, you can go with 1 coater and if you’re loving this shade then 2 coats would be AWESOME!

Not for everyone but if you are willing to try something different, it’s a good pick. You may share your color obsession with OPI on their facebook or twitter.

Covergirl Natureluxe Silky Foundation

CoverGirl Natureluxe Silky Foundation for $3.00 with net wt: 1 fl oz. The shade I have is in 315 Bamboo. This shade is a good match for my light-medium skin toned. Note of caution -this product has a slight scents of jojoba extract and cucumber water. It has a medium coverage and it feels lightweight on skin. I’m excited to try this and will share my review in the next post.

What are some items you have hauled recently and are super excited to try? I’d love to know. Don’t forget to leave your comments down below.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Uh-Oh Roll down the ___ by OPI

Hey Lovelies!

Hope you’ve had a good Halloween! Today I wanted to show you two of the OPI nail lacquer polish which I had posted in my beauty haul last friday.
opi nails
OPI Nail Lacquer( Nagellack Collection) NL 908 in Front Lawn/ NL T34 in Uh-Oh -Roll Down the window (net wt: 15 ml)
opi closed up opi uh-oh brush
The NL T34 has a more liquidy formula. The formula is a little bit runny but good to apply if I don’t overload the brush. The first coat is too light and uneven and streaky. I do like this dark shade nail color especially for this season. It has a glossy finish. I did mine in 2 coats but without the top coat since it’s already glossy and it took a longer time to dry up.
opi front lawn (2)  opi front lawn brush
Out of these two OPI nail lacquer polish, I prefer this Front Lawn bright shade more somehow. Love this fun and punchy bright color. It’s thicker in consistency and it dries up quite fast. This shade makes my hands look paler and it’s more mood uplifting than the darker shade.
opi nail lacquer uh-oh opin nail lacquer

I wore both shades for Halloween this year. I was in a rush and therefore I applied them without putting any top coat. Both color shades have chipped after a 3 days of wear. I definitely needed a top coat to protect the polish. I was hoping that it will last for more than a week but was a little bit disappointed that it didn’t. This is just my opinion and I’m sure it does work for some of you. I will be searching for other of the OPI collections which might eventually works for me 😀

What is your favorite color nail polish for autumn?

So, as always thank you for stopping by.

opi nail polish Opi nail lacquer
OPI Nail Lacquer Nagellack in NL908 Front Lawn / OPI Nail Lacquer Nagellack in NLT34 Uh-oh, Roll Down the window – why am I choosing a bright color shade of greens? Hmm… well, for one thing is that I love green.  From green sweater to green macha tea and same goes for nail polishes. So, I can’t turned away from these two evergreen colors. The darker shade of Uh-oh, reminds me of autumn and therefore it’s more like a treat for me. Review coming soon!
nyx lip cream vichy retinol sample
NYX Extreme Lip Cream in 05 Bonfire – first of all, I have to admit that this is the first time I picked up a lip cream from NYX. I’m at awe at this 2 in 1 combo, with lipstick and lip gloss combined. Added with this insanely pigmentation all in one. Oh my gosh! How awesome can it get? That’s a bonus point for this awesome lip cream. Love the sweet candy scents. The color choices are a little bit limited compared to the Extra Creamy lipstick. It has 11 shades in all. The price is reasonably priced and it’s great value for money.
Vichy Liftactiv Retinol HA Concentrate – well I got this as a freebie after purchasing some makeup products from my local drugstore. It’s a new generation wrinkle filler treatmentas stated at the back of the packaging. To be used daily in the morning on clean face and neck. One thing for sure is that the formula smell nice.
l'oreal glossy balm
L’oreal Glossy Balm in 250 Baby Berry – lovely color berry to keep chap lips away. The truth is that I was not really a lip gloss person but I have been recently since after trying the Smashbox Santigolden Hot Lava lip gloss, I’m hooked to lip gloss and lip balm. So, I have been picking up quite a bit of lip balms for the past few weeks where you will see in my other blogs. This l’oreal glossy balm looks very similar to Revlon Colorstay lip balm stains in crayon style packaging. I will be trying this out for review. It claims to have long lasting wear and gives a high dose of pigmented shine, smooth and conditioning to keep lips soft.
revlon neon nail art
Revlon Nail Art Neon in 12 Neon Light – oh wow! this is a nail polish that I must have. It has 10 bright funky shades. It’s like the starburst or skittles candy which is so yummy. So, that’s how I felt when I pick this up. I haven’t try this yet and so, I’ll post it on my next blog where I’ll do a mini home-manicure.
nyx lipstick
NYX Extra Creamy Round  Lipstick in 536 EROS – bright coral red creamy lipstick. On the website it says that this lipstick is mineral-based emollient formula offers a beautiful velvety texture and it resists wear and smudging. It’s a go-to lipstick. They have a jaw-dropping color shade selections which will fit anyone’s color taste. I personally love the consistency of this creamy and velvety finish. It glides wonderfully and love the bright color of red. I’m sure by now, many of you know that I’m a real big fan of red lipsticks. So, NYX lipsticks are one of my favorite drugstore brand.

That’s it for this week’s beauty haul and I know that I will have a long backlogged of reviews, I’m trying to get done as much as I can. So, I’ll have a new post up tomorrow 🙂

What is your favorite color nail polish from OPI?
