Tester Wednesday: Lise Watier Rivages Eyeshadow Palette – Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Welcome back to Tester Wednesday. Every week I rotate my makeup bag to test out products for a whole full week or find new makeup favorites that I haven’t tried before or testing out products from my first impression after a full week test run.

So, let’s get started.

Last week, I was testing a lot of products from Lise Watier which I really like and quite impressed with. So today, I thought I would share with you my thoughts and opinion on my new favorite Lise Watier Rivages Eyeshadows Palette.

I got this from their warehouse sale and the moment I saw the packaging and the color selections I knew I had to get my grabby hands on it.

As always, Lise Watier impresses me right off the bat by housing their products in carefully thought out packaging. Judging by the Rivages packaging, it makes me think that this design was inspired by timeless elegance.

I’m SO grateful that it’s in my collection as this palette is just such a beauty.

When I look at this palette, I personally think that it could easily stand as a knockout on its own without the other supporting products. Look how gorgeous the colors are!

It housed ten beautiful eyeshadows in a brass edged and opalescent shell-like lid compact with a rose-mauve interior. The underside of the lid features a large mirror, perfect for makeup on the go which I really appreciate, and two duo-ended sponge tip applicators which I don’t use since I prefer to use my own brushes.

Inside this palette there are ten shades:

Top row: a soft corn yellow/ a muted moss green/a peach pink/ a plum & a deep wine red, kinda like a cool marsala

Bottom row: a soft blush pink/ a light mauve purple/ an icy blue pink/ a deep red bronze & a deep purple black

Color swatches on bare arms

All the shades also have that characteristic hard texture typical of Lise Watier eyeshadows, however these ones at least felt a bit more buttery than previous palettes due to its powder-cream formulation.

I’m really blown away by the colors and formula in this palette. Just admire how insanely pigmented these shadows are. Best thing is, you don’t even need a primer for these shadows and they last all day with only moderate fading.

The $54 price tag for ten shades of the Rivages palette is quite pricey, but if you don’t have an extensive eyeshadow collection or if you happen to see it at a warehouse sales for a discounted price, then by all means get this immediately. You’re going to like it.

Overall, the Palette Rivages is a hands-down must-have in my opinion, the quality and value of it is just beyond amazing. This is a perfect summer shadows I know I’ll be wearing all summer.

Have you frequented any beauty warehouse sales lately? If yes, which brand is your favorite and why?

Hard Candy vs L’Oreal Infallible!

These Hard Candy Eyeshadow caught my eye since it look a whole lot like the L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadow. Both have the same in looks, shape and packaging. They look exactly alike right to tee. Amazing right!

In this post, I’d like to talk and see if Hard Candy could be a dupe for the L’Oreal Infallible.

So, I have sometime to play a little bit with them and would love to share my thoughts on these.

Here are some of the color eyeshadows that I’ve recently reviewed and if you want to read a full review, click here and here.

L’Oreal Infallible has 23 color ranges and Hard Candy has 10 pretty shades to add to your collections.

L’Oreal Infallible net weight for 3.5g and a slight difference of 0.3g less for Hard Candy. I love love these pressed shadows. Very easy to blend formula whilst amazing color payoff. Such beautiful eyeshadows. L’Oreal claimed that for 24 hours longevity but I don’t usually wear my makeup overnight. So, I can’t tell if the claim was true since I didn’t test it for that long duration but one thing for sure is that I don’t see any fall out and they lasted for more 10 hours without fading on me.

Okay, next the conclusion whether or not Hard Candy is a dupe for the L’Oreal infallible eyeshadow? I find that they just as good as the color payoff, they last just as long.  the only difference is that the L’Oreal Infallible is slightly more foil metallic finish and that’s the only difference that I’ve found between these beside the weight which I just mentioned earlier in this post.

Should you spend $10.99 for the L’Oreal Infallible or the Hard Candy two for $5.98? By all means go with the Hard Candy two for $5.98. They’re absolutely amazing! Yes, I do love the L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadow and will probably purchase them but I’ll get all of the Hard Candy Duo eyeshadows.

So, those are my thoughts and I hope you find them helpful.

Which is your next to reach for eyeshadow? Make sure to leave your comments down below. I love reading your comments.

Thank you very much for stopping by <3.

Betty-Lou Manizer By TheBalm Bronzer|Review

First of all, look at this cool packaging by the Balm called Betty-Lou Manizer aka “The Bronzing Bandit”. The color spoke to me when I saw this online and I’m so pleased that I got it. Yipee!!!

Here’s what the outside packaging looks like and it gets better, continue reading …

betty lou bronzer

Told ya’ it’s gorgeous, right!

bronzer pan

You can score a sun-kissed glow with theBalm’s Betty-Lou Manizer. Betty-Lou is a silky smooth, all-in-one bronzing highlighter, shimmer and shadow. How neat is that!

In terms of the color, they believe in a silky smooth, “sun kissed glow”, which is right up my alley. So while you can get some decent pigment, this stuff is more about real-girl makeup to look fresh and pretty, instead of the heaviness on your skin. I like the formula number one and if it isn’t I wouldn’t wear it.

You can see the color swatch swiped directly from the pan. It does have a little bit of a sheen. The pigmentation is really great and very universal where everyone can wear it. I really love the pretty color payoff on this pan. The texture is amazingly creamy with velvety finish. It blends surprisingly well.

on skin

This bronzer can be deep and dark if you packed it on but you can also go easy by applying it for a sun-kissed glow. This has been a great bronzer for me in the summer time  and I definitely wear it for transition to fall season, good news is that it’s been able to stand up to the factors for me. It has a really nice finish on my skin! Love, love this! ❤

I hope you guys have a great day and I’ll see you next time. Let me know if you like to read any other makeup products in the comment. I love to hear what you think 😀

Have you checked out the Balm yet? Which products are your favourites by far?

Thank you so much for stopping by. See you guys on the next one!

Mary-Lou Manizer By The Balm|More Than 1 Way

Here’s the outer packaging of Mary-Lou Manizer:

Now this is not the new line from the Balm Cosmetics, you can actually buy ’em online or at Sephora, so I’m excited to want to give you a closer look at what is a major contender for Cutest Beauty Product in my Beauty World. You probably have this product or seen many youtubers raving and talking about this luminizer but did you know that it can also work on as a highlighter, shimmer and shadow? I’m very curious so, I got one to try it out myself for you here in my post.

Does it actually live up to the hype? Let’s see!

mary lou highlight

It gets even better when you open up the box, because this is what you get:

Mary-Lou Manizer, a seemingly innocent honey-hued luminizer that catches everybody’s eye in a metal tin compact packaging. Oh yes, whoever works at theBalm knows exactly how to get to us.

large pan

I should mention, the selling point with these isn’t just the pretty packaging. This is a powder luminizer that is supposed to have lasting power without fading.

It has a good size round mirror in this compact disc which is brilliant to bring in your purse. I love this packaging inside out.

color swatch

Obviously, you’re going to blend it out more than this, but I have to say—this highlighter is SUPER-pigmented. Even though it has a tiny bit of shimmer through it, you don’t notice it on the skin.

And here’s what they look like on the skin:

As for the wear time, I noticed some fade after about five hours or so, but that could just be because they are so pigmented, I only applied a small amount.

I have several ways to wear this luminizer so leave your eyes peeled: lol! This method I called it strobing. To place highlighter where the light hits for a natural looking finish.

makeup look

The standard area to put the luminizer is as a highlighter on top of the cheek bones but you can also apply them on several other areas for definition.

On the high point of my forehead, the tip of the nose, on the cupid’s bow and on the high point where the light hits for extra bang!

I also wear it on top of my brow bone, on top of my brow bone, on the tear duct  on for more definition.
