Pixi Beauty Cruelty Free Makeup

Hey everyone! I can’t believe we’re already in the month of February. It’s insane how fast time swoosh by! Or is it just me!

Anyways, in today’s post I just want to do a quick mention of the cruelty free products that doing a come back. While I’ve to admit that I’m not 100% clean or cruelty free but 2018 is a mark for me to put a conscious effort to make it happen with baby steps. So without further ado, let’s jump right in.PixibyPetraPixi by Petra is a cruelty free makeup brand that I’ve known since the beginning of my blogging days and here are products that keeps me going back.

Pixi Beauty Bronzer
Beauty Bronzer + Kabuki – $24.00

I’ve Pixi Beauty Bronzer in the shade Summertime and it’s the most beautiful color tan for my light-medium skin toned. I’m a matte kind of girl when it comes to bronzer, so this formula is just right up my alley.

The natural mineral formula is infused with vitamin E and mica, product ingredients that will make your cheeks looking flawless and silky fresh as you wear it. Buff it where you naturally tan and you’re good to go. I really appreciate how light it is for winter use but can also be built up to be suitable for summer.Pixi Beauty BronzerThe pigmentation is incredible and it on the cheek for a surprisingly long time. With their sleek and travel friendly packaging set, you’re going to fall head over heels for it!  By the way, did I mentioned it smells amazing! And if you’re on the market for a subtle glow bronzer that’s not shinning then you’re going to like this set. Grab your set today!Kabuki brushIt comes with a good size Kabuki Brush like so. What is a kabuki brush anyway you might asked? The answer I got from google search is “the brush is named after the Kabuki Japanese drama theater, where, ironically, male actors wear Keshō, a very heavy makeup made of white rice powder.”

Today, however, the word “kabuki” is used to describe a variety of makeup brushes, whether they have squat or long handles, real or synthetic hair, or rounded or flat tops.Pixi Kabuki BrushThe synthetic fiber brush wasn’t too dense nor to soft. It tapered on both sides for precise blending. It’s suitable for applying powder evenly over your face with thinly. You don’t have to splurge on some expensive Hakuhodo Brush USA if you don’t want to. For me, this one did an awesome job just like any kabuki brush. It’s my new favorite and I hope they’ll never stop making it!Pixi Beauty Eyeshadow PalettesMoving on I got two Mesmerizing Mineral Palettes in the shade Mineral Contour and Copper Peach that I’ve been dying to share their color swatches for your guys.

Mineral Contour Eyeshadow Palette
Mineral Contour Palette $12-$14

This is a new palette I picked up from Shoppers Drug Mart the other day to add to my ever growing Pixi Beauty collection. It features six earthy tones from frosty white to the darkest charcoal grey shades eyeshadow in complementing colors. Complete with a dual-ended sponge tip brush.

Mineral Contour PaletteAll the shades are soft to the touch, it feels creamy and easy to blend. They’re also just a little powdery but I wouldn’t be overly concern about it. I noticed the pigmentation to be not very consistent especially the frosted white compares to the champagne beige. I’m not sure if I got a bad batch but here’s the color swatch up closed.

From Left to Right:

  • Charcoal Grey
  • Bronze Brown
  • Champagne Beige – is my favorite shade of the bunch
  • Light Taupe
  • Cream – this shade turns out very closed to my skin tone but it’s a great color as a transition shade
  • Frosted White
Copper Peach Palette
Copper Peach Palette

I did a review a few years back when I was first introduced to Pixi Beauty. So, I’m not going to go into great length but instead I’ll have the link here if you like to read more about it.Copper Peach swatchesThis palette contains peach, bronze and russet shades, which I really enjoy as I really only wear neutral eye looks most of the time.

From Left to Right:

  • Dark Bronze Shimmer
  • Copper Shimmer
  • Peachy Shimmer
  • Matte Brown
  • Bronze
  • Champagne

Of the two, this has to be my favorite palette. The dark bronze and copper shades are what I use for everyday wear. They super easy to apply and blend away. I love how my makeup stay fresh all day with these creamy formulas. I’ve got only good things to say about this product and the brand.

If you haven’t tried any products from Pixi, I urge you to check out their website or head over to the nearest drugstore, because they got you covered!

I hope this post will help you kick start your search. Let me know if you guys found this useful!

Aveeno Huge Beauty Haul

Hi guys!

If you regularly read my content, you know by now I spend an extraordinary amount of time bathing. I may not wash my hair every single day but you better believe when I tell you that I’m going to spend some time in  my shower or bath. It’s how I unwind basically!

*Press Samples

On the days that have been slightly on the rough side, I’ve been reaching for a comforting body wash that is creamy, warming, and enveloping—like a hug from my honey bear.

So today, I’ve rounded up the best Beauty Haul by Aveeno that will hold up throughout your Thanksgiving feast. Yes, I’m talking about beauty skin products which was sent to me by Aveeno for considerations. As you may know, Aveeno is a personal favorite brand of mine and I’m pretty excited to try these products and more than excited to share them here.

So let’s get started.

Here are the latest in Aveeno huge beauty haul: Enjoy!

  1. Pure Renewal Shampoo
  2. Pure Renewal Conditioner
  3. Aveeno Baby Calming Comfort Lotion
  4. Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion
  5. Stress Relief Body Wash
  6. Aveeno Baby Calming Comfort Bath
  7. Moisturizing Bar
  8. Neutrogena Men Invigorating Face Wash
  9. Neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne
  10. Neutrogena Stubborn Acne Spot Gel
  11. Neutrogena All in One Makeup Removing Cleansing Wipes

The first thing I want to talk about is their Calming & Comfort Lotion in lavender and vanilla scents.

This lotion is designed to help calm babies and I would definitely wanted to use it for my little one before bedtime. Sleep is important but a good night sleep for me is everything. I’m sure a lot of mommy out there could agree!

These are all amazing products for anytime of the year and especially for those who have going to spend your hours prepping and cooking for Thanksgiving. The stress relief foaming bath and moisturizing lotion are something to help unwind and relax after the long day. One thing I can tell you is that they definitely have everyone in mind when they sent me products for baby and men in the family.

Aveeno Stress Relief Foaming Bath in lavender, charmomile and ylang-ylang oils. With thanksgiving and the big holiday approaching fast, I got stressed up just by thinking of the holiday. Shopping lists and Christmas preparation could be overwhelming sometimes.

Luckily, I’ve some stress relief to help me through the holidays. I can’t wait to get into the tub for a nice and relaxing bath.

I know that this product will made it’s way into my daily routine since Christmas holiday is usually hectic and I can imagine myself using this a lot to unwind. It says on the bottle that it hydrates for 24 hours and I’m intrigued to put this to the test. Let me know if you would like me do a post review on the comment section.

Another plus is that since we’re not spared from colder winter – lots and lots of moisturizer is necessary! Your skin is going to thank you later for it.

If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I’m a huge fan of body wash. I went through body wash very quickly. I’m very excited to try this stress relief body wash and see if it really works. I’ll report back for update in my next post. Don’t forget to stay tuned!

The body wash is formulated with lavender and chamomile which from what I heard is that lavender has the aromatherapy properties to help on stress relief.

Moving on is the Aveeno Baby Calming and Comfort Bath. I love the scents of lavender and vanilla. It’s so refreshing and soothing without going overboard. I’ll have my little boy try this bath product. He loves a good bath even in autumn and gets to play with the bubbles. I know that he is going to like it but I want to see his reaction to this product.

This might be TMI but in case you don’t know, I wash my hair every 2 other days. I haven’t tried any hair products from this brand, so yes I’m quite excited with the prospect. I’m happy to see that their Pure Renewal shampoo and conditioner are made for all hair types. That’s cool!

Let’s talk packaging. I really like the long green cylinder tube. It makes storing so much easier and convenient. It’s not too bulky or heavy. A good amount of products with amazing scents to it. They’re in full size samples and honestly, I was really blown away.

I know that I’ll be busy testing out most of the products by myself and will have my hubby try the product for men. I’ll do a separate product review once I’ve tried them. These are all products that I know I’ll be reaching out for when the holiday gets closer.

Next on the list is an interesting product which I’m dying to have my hubby try is this Invigorating Face Wash. He is not very interested in this department but I’m going to convince him to try it out anyways. I’m excited to hear what his thoughts are which then I’ll update right back once I got his feedback.

Makeup Removing Face wipes are one of the most important beauty must-haves for festivals and a little pocket-sized pack like this is perfect for travelling too. You get 25 wipes which is a good quality and talk about product that actually work. Well, this I could confirm it works because I’ve tried and love it!

Next is the Moisturizing Bar for Dry Skin. It contains natural colloidal oatmeal that combat dry and itchy skin. This soap would be great to use for winter season. I don’t usually use soap on my body but for you guys, I’m going to try it and let you know what I think next.

Last but not least, I want to show you Neutrogena Daily Leave on Mask and Spot Gel for Stubborn Acne. I’ve been lucky to have some good skin days in the summer but with the weather turning colder, my skin tends to be acting up. I’ll definitely be wearing this once I spotted a bad skin day.

These are a couple of drugstore gems that you got to check them out. They’re a prefect addition for my winter skin, hair and facial routine. All the products mentioned, you could find them at any drugstores, Walmart, Target US, CVS and on Aveeno’s website.

What do you think guys? Will you be checking these out soon? Comment below your reply. I love to read your comments.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog. I hope to see you all again on my next post. Bye!

Sharon xoxo

Smarten Up Milani Earthy Elements Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to do a blog post on one of my favorite Cruelty Free Drugstore brand, yes it’s the new Milani Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palette.

I’m super excited already. Let’s get on with it! ):

First of all, I want to mention that this palette housed six gorgeous shadows. Inside this palette is a double ended brush which actually works. It’s not those crappy drugstore sponge applicator you threw right away.

I really really love the color selections in this palette. Very earthly and neutral tones. When I used this for the first time, I was absolutely blown away! I would recommend this to anyone who likes a warm neutral tone eyeshadowsas it’s incredibly pigmented with amazing finishing.

The pigmentation varies from shade to shade, but they are all smooth so I don’t foresee any trouble once they are paired with a good primer or base. I especially love the orangey/ red and bronzey eyeshadow in 05 Earthly Elements! So beautiful!

The reason I enjoy this for day-to-day wear is its super quick to apply, and super build- able. It’s great to just throw on before I head out the door. If you love earthly neutral shadows, you’ll love this palette.

Warm range color tone which I can wear everyday. Love love the color selection in this palette. All the shadows are highly pigmented and the shade perfect for spring/summer look.

The formula on this palette is of  matte, satin and frosty finish.

Will you be picking anything up from Milani?

Thanks so much for reading! And I’ll catch up with you guys on the next one!

Wet n Wild Coverall Foundation

wnw foundation

I bought this Wet n Wild Coverall Cream Foundation because I’m literally obsessed with the Wet n Wild makeup line and therefore here I am with its cream foundation I picked up recently 😛

The shade I picked is in 819 Medium. I heard a lot about this foundation and I’m curious to try it out myself. For those of you who are new here, I’ve dry skin and I’m always on the search for a really good foundation that doesn’t make my skin looking cakey.

wnw color swatch

This Wet n Wild foundation comes in a tube packaging which I like but not in love with. I think it’s a great size for travelling and all you need is just squirt the formula on your hand before blending them on your skin. You can use a beauty blender or foundation brush to buff and blend them in.

This cream foundation has medium to full coverage. I like the consistency of the formula on swatch but it feels a little heavy when I applied it on skin. It does hide the imperfection and redness around my nose and it doesn’t oxidise like some other foundation do. When I put this foundation on my skin with a light layer, I notice that with this formula, it sink into my fine lines and it makes my pores seems larger and more visible. I heard mixed reviews on this foundation but for me personally I just cannot figure out why so many boast about this foundation being full coverage. I could barely cake it on to medium coverage status. 😦

wnw color swatch foundation

This cream foundation  goes on very smoothly and dries with a satin matte finish. I personally prefer a bit of a dewier finish especially on a full coverage foundation but that’s just me.

It’s not a terrible foundation, it’s just not for me. It might work better for you, I don’t know but this is a miss for me. I would like it a lot better if it didn’t make my small pores look larger and that it has a longer staying power.

Overall, I think that Wet n Wild has good and inexpensive products such as their tinted moisturizer with sunscreen and bronzer but mostly very good eyeshadow and lipstick options. Anyways, if you’re looking for a cheap on the go foundation and if you have normal skin tone, then this cream foundation might be something you will like to try considering the low price and it’s cruelty free.

Have you tried any of the Wet n Wild foundation? Do you have good experience with your purchase? Let me know your comment on the section below.

Thanks so much for reading.

Sonia Kashuk Tinted Lip Balm|Review & Swatch

sonia kashuk lip balm

As I was sobbing that Target had left town and picking up the pieces are hard to do. I was so sure that the Nail Polish was the last item I remembered getting from Target but then as I was doing my spring cleaning on the makeup products to review, I found this. I’m like “ahhhhhh”. It feels like the clouds opens up and the light shines directly onto this Sonia Kashuk lip balm. Obviously, jumping for joy is all that I can do but wait I did the happy feet dance tool! LOL!

sonia kashuk lip balm swatch

Sonia Kashuk Moisture Luxe tinted Lip Balm in Hint of Coral. I don’t remember how much I paid for this but on Target US and Sonia Kashuk’s website it shows $8.99. There are 4 super gorgeous colors available.

The packaging is sleek and packed solid. On the top of the cap, you’ll see the color tone for easy access to the shade you like.

lip swatches sonia

This is a lip balm that I will highly recommend you to get. It’s so creamy and it moisturize your lips and my lips feels great wearing it. High pigmentation and this lip balm glides like butter. The formula looks shinny but it’s not sticky at all. At first thought, I expected it too maybe feel a little sticky but boy was I wrong. No gunky or tacky feeling at all.

I really love how it makes my lips look. I love the smooth texture and the sheer color is freaking amazing. The color tint keeps your lips looking awesome and the formula works to moisturize all day. The Coral shade I got isn’t too orange-y or to bright so, it’s just a perfect shade to wear this summer.

I kicked myself for not getting more shades when Target were still around 😦 But on a more positive note, I’m glad to have this one to keep as a momento but in the meantime I’ll be wearing it from spring to summer.

Anyways, I hope that with this first impression review, and if you haven’t get this lip balm yet, head over to your local Target and grab one or  maybe two. The shades are so beautiful. You should definitely check it out.

Am I affiliated to any of this companies? Well, I’m not and I paid all the makeup I have with my hard sweat money. All the opinions are solely my own for all the reviews I made so far. So, rest assure that I’m giving  you my honest opinion and that’s what I love doing 🙂

If you have this Sonia Kashuk let me know what do you think of this by commenting below.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read.

Sonia Kashuk Blossom Cream Blush|Review

Hey friends,

Thank you so much for visiting me in this blog. It has been a crazy crazy busy week here but today I’m going to talk about blush actually. I did a drugstore beauty haul several weeks ago where I’ll put a link below if you want to read it.

For those of you who have been following my blogs, you might remember when I touched just the surface of this pretty Sonia Kashuk’s Cream Blush in 03 Blossom (peachy coral toned). I picked this product from Target when it was in the process of disclosure. Sonia Kashuk is an exclusive brand to Target just as PIXI brand. I paid $9.79 for this blush.

sk blush

Okay, let’s start with the packaging. It comes in a simple and round plastic-que container with a decent size see through top. I always love packaging that can see through. It so much convenient to grab a shade that way rather than trying to figure out “hmm! what shade is blossom?” You catch my drift! But seriously, this is a pretty packaging and I love the simplicity it brings.

I couldn’t find a word to explain the formula of this cream blusher but anyways I’m going to try my best to explain i as plainly as possible. It’s just stunningly soft, creamy and smooth. It feels like a soft light weight primer but instead it’s a blusher. How brilliant this is? I was super thrilled to try this cream blush and oh my goodness …the texture feels glorious!

DSC01031 DSC01034

I don’t see any shimmer on pan but it gives a soft natural finish glow which is very skin like. The coverage is sheer and dewy but the pigmentation is insanely pigmented. Since it’s a cream formula, it’s light enough to be workable. The formula sort of been absorb in leaving skin beautiful and fresh.

I really love this Cream Blush and regretted not getting a few more shades when Target were still here (sob!). But anyways, if you have Target in your area don’t forget to check this out. It’s the most incredible blush I’ve tried so far. The shades are not shocking bright and the silky soft texture is to died for.

Will I recommend it to my family and friends? Well, you bet I will.

Thank you so much guys for stopping by.

Tell ’em Wednesday a collaboration with Curly Spring Blossom

Hey beautiful! It’s Wednesday and it’s time for “Tell ’em Wednesday”! For today’s drugstore product review I’m collaborating with my good friend and a passionate beauty blogger, Ingrid from curlyspringblossom to share our thoughts and opinion on the drugstore brands. At the end of this post, I’ll put her link below – so feel free to visit her blog and give her a follow.

So, a few weeks before Target Canada left town or country to be precise,  I managed to grab a few of the makeup products before they bid adios. Well, I picked several items in my bag when they were on liquidation sale of 20%. Well, today I’m going to do a review on Almay Smart Butter Kiss Lipstick. I got a 20% off from regular price of $7.99. And I picked this beautiful Nude-Medium shade in 110. Net wt: 0.09 oz

almay lipstick

This is a New permanent range Ultra-hydrating buttery lip color launched by Almay for its Spring 2015 collection. This new collection has four perfect shades of Berry, Pink, Nude and Red with three skin tone from light, light-medium to medium. The pigmentation varies between sheer to nearly opaque depending on the color you choose. It claims that all the colors gives a lovely sheen and some are shimmery finish.

almay nude lips look

On lips it glides like a dream.. There are enough colors to choose from no matter your skin tone. All I can say is that this is a super moisturizing lipstick that will make your lips hydrated and beautiful.

almay color swatch

Almay is one of the drugstore cosmetic brand that practices cruelty free since 20 years ago. So, you can purchase with ease this product line where it is not tested on animals.

I love this Almay Smart Butter kiss lipstick especially this nude shade which I find it sexy and not to mention drop dead gorgeous lips! So, if you haven’t tried Almay lipstick, I recommend you to head over to your nearest Target, Walmart or any chain drugstores to get this incredible butter kiss lipstick.

There you have it, my two cents opinion and hope you find this post interesting and helpful. Don’t forget to visit curlyspringblossom where she has an exciting Wet n Wild bronzer to share.

So, have you thought of which shade you are going to pick this Spring?

Thanks for stopping by and all the likes ❤ ❤ ❤

Sonia Kashuk Nail Polish

Hey lovelies! You might have heard that Target Canada is leaving town or country and there are massive liquidation sale from 80% -90% on their last day in Canadian soil. They have this huge banner that says 80%-90% LIQUIDATION/SALE  in front of the door. Yes, everything were gone except some furnitures. I was disappointed to say the least to see all the empty shelves but my dear husband found two bottles of Sonia Kashuk nail polish. I’m like this is splendid. They’re both the same color which I don’t mind at all. I’m just so happy to get them.

Sonia Kashuk in On The Hunt, net wt: 0.5 fl oz for $4.79 selling on a 90% discount. Hurray!!! That’s the best price I’ve ever paid for a nail polish actually. The shade is of forest green and it has a matte finish. I got to admit that I have the thing with green.

The formula is just nice. Not too thick or liquid-y in consistency. It has a long tip and makes painting your nails super easy.

When I tested it this morning, I didn’t have any problem applying this nail polish on fingers and it dries up quick. It gives an opaque but shinny finish. I’m happy with my purchase and if you happened to be shopping at the US Target, make sure to check out more of the available shades, Sorry, I cannot provide you with more detailed color availability since these two are all that’s left. For less than a buck at Target liquidation sale? It’s really a no-brainer.

Which is your favorite nail polish color for spring? I love to read your comments.

Thank you for stopping by.

Maybelline The Nudes vs L.A. Colors Palette

Hey gorgeous,

Have you heard that L.A. Colors are going to be a permanent brand at Target? I thought so. Anyways for those of you who haven’t heard or know L.A. Colors, you will be seeing  them on the shelves pretty soon. First of all, the price is of the makeup is dirt cheap.

On the other side of the spectrum is this Maybelline drugstore brand which if I’m not mistaken came out with a twelve eyeshadow palette to replicate the high end brand such as the Naked Palette by Urban Decay.

In this post, I’m just going to compare a drugstore brand with a new wannabe drugstore makeup just to have a fairer comparison.

maybelline vs l.a. colors

When I first started blogging, I heard that the Nudes is a dupes for UD and I picked it up and love it ever since. But even now that I have all the Naked Palettes I will still continue wearing The Nudes every now and then.

So sorry, I have gone tangent but anyways, let’s start the comparison with The Nudes by Maybelline and Traditional L.A. Colors eyeshadow palettes. Both are of neutral shades and each has 12 eyeshadow pans and the size of each pan is similar or the same size.

So, let’s go right to it:-

Intro: I paid $14.99 for The Nudes at my local drugstore and $1.25 for Traditional at the dollar store.

he nudes by maybelline

The packaging for this Maybelline palette is stable and solid. It gives the impression of a better made and an expensive kind of look for a drugstore brand which I find it impressive. Behind this black plastic palette is an eye makeup guide for beginners which you may find it helpful sometimes.

It comes with a dual eyeshadow brush which I have no use of it.

This neutral palette is amazing having six mattes and six shimmer shades that is richly pigmented and soft. There are four shades which are very creamy while the other are a little stiff but highly pigmented. I don’t see any powdery talc in this palette.

maybelline the nudes

I love the appearance of this neutral look from this Nude eyeshadow palette. It makes doing an everyday eye makeup look- hassle free.

The formula is long lasting and there are other shades that will perform even better with eye primers while some such as the shimmer bronze can go without. This is definitely a nice travel palette to bring for vacation and just don’t forget o bring your primer along.

For this look, I’m using the middle quad shadows. It gives a soft and natural shimmery finish which is quite subtle.

All the color swatches turns out beautifully . I love all the shades in this palette even the charcoal. Is this a dupes for Urban Decay Naked Palette? Well, I will have to say there is no true dupes on the shades (I tested on the half-baked, hustle and smog from Urban Decay Naked 1 palette) with the three obvious shades from The Nude but it does provide the same feel no doubt.

Also available are The Smokes and The Bright eyeshadow palettes which in my opinion are something I will definitely pick for stash.

l.a. colors eyeshadows

Okay, let’s face it. The packaging of this L.A. Colors palette is less than attractive. It does gives the impression that this palette costs $1.25 only.  But let me tell you something, I was in that position when I first saw it. I’m like there is no way I’m going to put that eyeshadow on me but boy was I wrong. The packaging is quite deceiving. For $1.25 eyeshadow palette with 12 shades in my opinion is really something else. Makes me think how low the cost of makeup really is.

l.a. colors swatches

Average pigmentation but incredible shades when applied on lids. It blends well and no flake or fall out which I’m amazed. It has very pretty shades that are wearable for everyday look. This is not the best palette but a reasonable and super affordable eyeshadow where you can play with the shades at will. I want to think of it as a disposable palette where if I go travelling and leave it behind I’ll be okay with it.

l.a. colors eye look

This eye makeup look is applied on bare skin (without primer). The finishing looks a little powdery but no it’s matte finish and the truth being said, it stays on all day. The eyeshadow still looking good without needing for touch-up. I’m satisfied with both the appearance and the results. Moreover, the price is just unbelievingly low.

Overall, I think this would be a wonderful palette for someone who is just starting their makeup journey, or perhaps does not own many eyeshadows or hasn’t experimented with nude shades before. For that price, it worth trying out and who knows. one day L.A. Colors might step up to its plate afterall. I would love to see an improved packaging and higher pigmentation with creamier formula but keeping the price as low as possible. I see that this brand has potential and if you happen to see one at your local Target, pick one and experience them yourselves. You’ll be surprised. All L.A. Colors makeup products costs less than $3.00.

My verdict: So which one is the winner? Well, I’ll have to say both are winners. Maybelline for its continuously stepping up to par with the quality and performance while L.A Colors for their effort to bring their products to be a permanent makeup brand is more than impressive. With their super low prices, many will get the chance to look pretty too. An infant brand that needs nurturing.

As for Maybelline, they have already make their mark and I’m very happy to find an affordable palette that can feed my eyeshadow palette obsessions.

Have you seen L.A. Colors at your local Target yet? Or have you The Nudes by Maybelline? Please leave comment and share your experience below. I love to hear from you.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

The Elf Eyeshadow Quad|Review

Last night after super, my husband decided to drive us to a shopping outlet not too far from our house. The store is called “Giant Tiger” and they basically sell food and stuff like Wal-mart but in a much smaller scale. It was my first time there since we moved here a couple of months ago. Frankly speaking, I didn’t expect to see makeup products there but I spotted Elf and L.A. Colors makeup essentials. Oh well, it’s better than nothing 🙂

elf golden palette

Three Dollars! Get out of here!!!

I’m surprised to find this Flawless Quad Eyeshadow by e.l.f for only $3.00 (Net wt: 0.14 oz.). That’s wonderful! This quad eyeshadow is available in nine lovely shades. I picked the Golden Goddess for a new eye makeup look. Please read further.

elf eyeshadow

I love the packaging and the colors in the pan. It looks simple and fuss-free. This packaging reminds me of Almay’s brand actually. I’m happy to say that the packaging on this palette doesn’t look cheap given the price is only $3.00. There are four awesome shades in this palette – for base, lid, crease and line. Beige(base), Gold(lid), Bronze(crease) and Charcoal(line). It also comes with an itsy bitsy mirror and a mini applicator.

elf shadow swatch

On swatch the colors comes out beautifully. It’s super pigmented and it’s very good. I really love the golden shimmery finish. You can spray the eyeshadows with makeup mist and set method for a more intense look or to make your makeup pop. Cool isn’t it!

Well, I notice that the texture of of these eyeshadow are not smooth on pan. It feels a little flaky or dryish which I can only assume was due to the glitters and shimmery properties used into this formula. But once its blended on lids and crease the only problem you have is admiring how stunning your eyes look.

golden eye look

Well, as I mentioned earlier, I wanted to create a golden glittery eye makeup look to share in this post. So, here are some easy and simple steps that I created using this elf flawless eyeshadow palette. An eyeshadow quad perfect for everyday look.

Sonia Kashuk Foundation|Review

sonia foundation

I did my drugstore haul last week and I did mentioned doing a review after I have tried this bad boy and I wanted to share with you guys the results a week later. I picked this foundation from Target actually.

Since I was impatient, I decided to try it right away after I finished posting it. So, for the records, I have tried it for a full week and here’s what I think.

sonia kashuk foundation spray

Sonia Kashuk Perfecting Luminous Foundation in 04 Buff. Available in six color selection for $8.99 on discounted price at Target.

This is a rather easy pump applicator to use that comes together in a plastic tube packaging. Just squeeze the pump a few times to the desire amount of foundation you want on your hand. The formula is not runny nor too thick. So, I’ll say it’s of medium consistency which is perfect for buffing and blending.

SK Perfecting Luminous foundation is a liquid foundation for normal to dry skin. Just be aware – this foundation has a slight fragrance smells that others might find it to be too strong but I don’ mind the smell on this one somehow for some strange reason. I’ve tried many foundations and there were worst one out there that just freak me out. Anyways, to each of their own. Let’s keep our peace.

sonia pump swatch

Well, this is my first time trying Sonia Kashuk foundation line and so I’m going to go ahead and I’m excited to share my thoughts with you guys. Yeah!!!

I got this shade in Buff since it’s the lightest in the medium shade selection available at the store. To be honest, it’s difficult to pick the right shade through an opaque tube. Worst thing is that later at home, I found out that the formula doesn’t seems to match the color on the tube. Argh!

makeup review foundation

So, when I first apply and buffed this foundation on skin, I noticed that this formula has quite a bit of orange toned in it. I’m in a medium-light warm undertones yet I feel that the formula is somewhat orangey on me. Well, that’s a bummer!

But other than the orangey tone formula, I got to say that overall I find that the SK foundation makes my skin looks flawless. In the sense that it makes my skin feeling soft and hydrated all day. That’s an amazing feeling! On top of that, it gives a lovely dewy finish which is a plus for any dry skin type. The picture on my left is without foundation and on the right is with SK foundation. The result is a flawless looking skin.

As for the texture, I would say medium coverage and build to layer up without looking cakey. Once the foundation sets, I don’t see any big pores on my skin and I’m delighted on how it helps hide the skin imperfection and redness beside my nose area. So yay!!! I love the coverage and how this foundation makes my skin feels but not the shade I picked. It’s just too orangey for me 😦 bleh!

But since I love this SK perfecting luminous foundation, and that I wanted to continue wearing it, so what I did is applying the setting powder from L’oreal True Match to balance out the shades and it works.

Overall, I think this foundation is amazing except for the color tone. And if you happened to find the right shade and has normal o dry skin then I’ll recommend that you go for it. It has very good quality with reasonable price.

So, will I repurchase? Yes I will definitely pick another shade if I come across Sonia Kashuk again.

What do you think of this Sonia Kashuk foundation? Let me know on the comment below.

Thank you so much for reading.

Dollar Store Makeup Haul |Series #2

Hey guys!

Today, I wanted to talk about my yet another interesting and fun finds at my local dollar store or similar to dollar tree store. I got many requests to do another post and here I am hauling as many products from the dollar store to share my post with you guys.

This is what I picked up from the dollar store and since Easter is just in week. I was excited to be picking some Easter treats for the children. So, I got the Easter eggs, chocolates, stickers and gift bags together with color paint for my son to do his art drawings. Whereas for myself, I picked a facial mask, L.A. Colors makeup, elf eyeliner and a death sea revitalizing cream.  Okay, that should covers everything.

dollar store

Dang! I forgot to put this BB cream in the group picture. But anyways, finally reunited with all other makeup haul.

I’ve heard from some bloggers’ treading that L.A. Colors is going be a permanent line at Target. I’ve seen this L.A. Colors at my dollar store and I thought of sharing what I think about this brand which will be going to Target. Frankly speaking, I haven’t the least idea how good the quality of L.A. Colors since I don’t shop for makeup products at dollar store/dollar tree store but this time it’s an exception.

Here are the makeup products from my haul, so let’s roll.

l.a. color eyeliner

First thing first, I got this L.A. Colors Liquid Eyeliner in Black. Net wt: 0.22 fl oz for $1.25

It has an ultra fine applicator that works nicely on lash line. If you have tried Elf liquid eyeliner and like it then you will like this one too. It’s not waterproof but it holds on pretty well for that price. The liner glides with the liquid formula and it’s not messy or hard to apply. It takes about 2 mins to dry up. I think this is a decent eyeliner for those who just starter doing makeup. The price is right and a decent quality to practice eye lining.

l a colors

L.A Colors Lip Color in Cherry Red. Net wt: 0.11 oz for $1.25.

This comes in several shades but I picked this cherry red lip color instead. It says here on the packaging that this lip color – moisturizes with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera. I smell a nice slight of fruity scents but not overpowering. It glides beautifully and oh my, I’m truly impressed with this lip color. It’s so pigmented and creamy. Love it. Furthermore, it’s gives a velvety finish which is so lovely. This lip color is not gunky or sticky at all. It has long wearing power. I’ve tried i and going to grab a few shades for the next round at the dollar store. You can also find it at Target. Look for L.A. brand 😀

bb cream

BB Cream 2 in 1 Tinted Cream in medium shade. Net wt: 1. fl oz for $1.25

I saw a Light shade and Medium but not the darker shade. So, I cannot confirm if they have a darker tone for this BB cream since different dollar store might have some different inventories at times. This tinted cream reminds me of the Olay BB cream I picked up not too long ago. I did a post on the BB cream recently. Hit here to get you back to the link. On swatch this formula is light and not thick at all. I notice that this shade has a pinkish cool undertone. It smells very nice and the formula is so moisturizing. Okay… I’ll leave it for later review … it will be more fun that wayyyyyyy…

elf eyeliner

I also have in my dollar store bag this cute little eyeliner by elf. I got it in Black. Net wt: 0.17 fl oz for $1.50

This is a nice liquid eyeliner with a fine tip applicator. It makes creating the lining super easy and fast. It dries up quick and glides incredibly well. For beginners, I suggest using elf  liquid eyeliner instead of paying for the big buck, I do recommend that you invest in this first. It works and for me that’s what matters.

moisturizing cream

Luxury Care (LC) Moisturizing and Revitalizing Cream with Vitamin E and Dead Sea Minerals. Net wt: 1.69 fl oz for $3.00 a jar.

Dead Sea Minerals – I was like doing a double take when I saw the printed words on the packaging. Okay, I’m always curious of the Dead Sea scrolls and dead sea minerals make my curiosity grew to 110%. I’ve never heard of this LC in my entire life and I’m super sceptical to even apply it on my skin but after reading the ingredients that contains water, extract fruits, kernel oil and shear butter with other ingredients I feel more confident in trying it out. Honestly, skin care products – I prefer to go to the professionals or the high end store but never at Dollar store.

Anyways, I did try it and this is what I think. First of all, this moisturizing cream smells amazing. It’s cooling and it’s very light on skin. It blends and absorbs quickly while leaving skin moisturized. I’ve wore it for the whole day and so far so good. I’m scare of formula that causes breaksout (ok, doesn’t anybody?) but whew… the cream feels comfortable actually. Well, I may use or may not use it in the long run but here is what I think from my perspective. For only $3.00 I’ll say go for it girl if you can find it at your dollar store. I think it is a good product to try. Did I also mention that it’s cruelty free? Made in Israel.

eurospa mask

Eurospa Facial Mask Skin Brightening Vitamin E in Pearl. Net wt: 15 ml for $1.00

I saw some other mask that were selling for $1.99 at drugstores and at the dollar store it’s only $1.00. I’ll check if it’s legit once I’ve mask myself with this beautiful pearl. The packaging looks so inviting . Oh dang!!! I wanted to wear it now but I can’t since I’ll be going out in less than 10 minutes.  Anyways, I will share my 2 cents in my next post wearing this white mask (he!he!he!) in my next post. On the packaging it claims to help tone and rejuvenate complexion, clear blemishes, minimise pores and enhance blood circulation. Okay, all that you need is in one sachet. Pretty cool and for a buck … I’ll probably be hopping over to the dollar store to grab a few more. By the way, this mask is Made in Korea in case you like to know 😀

l.a. eyeshadow

Last but not least is this L.A. Colors 12 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Traditional. Net wt: 0.49 oz  for $1.25

Okay… hold it right there. Behold this lovely and rich pigmented L.A. Colors eyeshadow palette. One word to say is that “I’m Impressed”. I was taken aback by the pigmentation, the creamy texture and the shades are so incredible. Alright, the packaging is not the most adorable or cutest on the shelves but presentable. It comes in a plastic packaging with an applicator.

I learned not to judge a book by its cover and I can tell you that this eyeshadow palette is awesome. I’ll be doing a review and makeup tutorial using this L.A. Colors palette. I can use all the shades in the palette and they’re beautiful. It gives a pretty dewy finish.

So, here are my thoughts and well my review on my dollar store haul and I hope you find them interesting and helpful. So, the next time you walk pass the L.A. Colors aisle at Target or Dollar store, stop by to say “hi”. Who knows, you might stumble upon some pretty awesome products with incredibly insane price where everything is less than $3.00.

Will you pick up L.A. Colors makeup products after having read this? Please leave comment below. I love to hear what you think.

Okay, don’t forget to check out my next post reviews from my dollar store makeup haul and until next time take care and stay beautiful.

As always, thanks for the love. I’ll check back with you guys tomorrow 🙂
