Maybelline The Nudes And The Blushed Nudes

Maybelline eyeshadow palettes

By now, you guys might have guessed that I love talking and sharing my views and opinion on eyeshadow palettes. I’m obsessed and I’m not ashamed to admit it. But don’t get me wrong, I love everything about beauty and makeup but this is my most talked subject in my post for now. Eventually, I’ll be touching on other interesting and cool topics as the season changes. If you are an eyeshadow junkies like me, then you might want to continue reading …

Maybelline Eyeshadow Palettes

Let’s get started:- lots of pictures below

Here are the two contenders. The top is The Nudes and the bottom The Blushed Nudes Palettes both by Maybelline. Palettes are available at any drugstores and online. Don’t forget to check them out if you’re on a budget spending. Prices below $15.00 depending on the drugstores and locations in the area.

The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette by Maybelline is a warm neutral nude eyeshadows. There are 12 shadows with six mattes and six shimmery finish. I did a full review awhile ago and here is the link if you like to read more about it.

Inside this palette holds all the shadows from light to mid tones and dark. Very versatile and I just love the colors in this palette. This palette is for every color tones. Perfect for everyday wear for a natural looking appearance or you can easily spice it up to a smokey and intense evening wear. Both looks are a delight to my eyes.

Maybelline The Nudes Palette

I’m excited so I can’t help but to do a color swatch again for your eyes only. Directly taken from the pan and swiped on my bare hands (no primer). The colors stay true and no creasing detected.

Another palette from Maybelline is the Blushed Nudes that was added to its new collection. This palette has more rosy pink undertone and some pretty shades on the bottom palette. If you love pink shadows and are pale skin, I believe this palette would work beautifully. The shades that can translate on my light to medium skin are the darker shades.

This palette has nice pigmentation and smooth texture. The textures on both palettes are similar. They’re smooth with no creasing at all. To read more about the full review, hit here for recent throwback.

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes

Keep your eyes peeled for this color swatches. Applied on bare hands without eye primer, The top row looks invisible on my skin tone except the last shadow on the right and the rest are blendable and pretty easy to work with. I wasn’t that impressed with the lighter shadows. This palette has four matte shadows only compared to the Nudes palette which has six mattes.

Let me close by saying, I am no artist. I am also not a professional beauty guru. And I will not be on the next season of the Reality TV Beauty Competition, lol. This is just how I wear my eye makeup that I’ve been so obsessed with. If you’re beginners then I hope this post would help to inspires you.

the Blushed Nudes

I always have fun working on makeup and wearing lovely eyeshadows and today, I’m sharing these eye makeup looks using Maybelline The Nudes and The Blushed Nudes shadows. I would repurchase the Nudes palette in a heartbeat if I needed to (I obviously don’t and have enough eyeshadow to last a hundred lifetimes). But  some of those shades are just beautiful. For the price and quality, I say GO for it. The Nudes or The Blushed Nudes, the choice is yours!

Let me know if you try this out! Or if you have another way of doing your eye makeup look!!!

Thanks so much for taking your time to read.

Maybelline The Nudes vs L.A. Colors Palette

Hey gorgeous,

Have you heard that L.A. Colors are going to be a permanent brand at Target? I thought so. Anyways for those of you who haven’t heard or know L.A. Colors, you will be seeing  them on the shelves pretty soon. First of all, the price is of the makeup is dirt cheap.

On the other side of the spectrum is this Maybelline drugstore brand which if I’m not mistaken came out with a twelve eyeshadow palette to replicate the high end brand such as the Naked Palette by Urban Decay.

In this post, I’m just going to compare a drugstore brand with a new wannabe drugstore makeup just to have a fairer comparison.

maybelline vs l.a. colors

When I first started blogging, I heard that the Nudes is a dupes for UD and I picked it up and love it ever since. But even now that I have all the Naked Palettes I will still continue wearing The Nudes every now and then.

So sorry, I have gone tangent but anyways, let’s start the comparison with The Nudes by Maybelline and Traditional L.A. Colors eyeshadow palettes. Both are of neutral shades and each has 12 eyeshadow pans and the size of each pan is similar or the same size.

So, let’s go right to it:-

Intro: I paid $14.99 for The Nudes at my local drugstore and $1.25 for Traditional at the dollar store.

he nudes by maybelline

The packaging for this Maybelline palette is stable and solid. It gives the impression of a better made and an expensive kind of look for a drugstore brand which I find it impressive. Behind this black plastic palette is an eye makeup guide for beginners which you may find it helpful sometimes.

It comes with a dual eyeshadow brush which I have no use of it.

This neutral palette is amazing having six mattes and six shimmer shades that is richly pigmented and soft. There are four shades which are very creamy while the other are a little stiff but highly pigmented. I don’t see any powdery talc in this palette.

maybelline the nudes

I love the appearance of this neutral look from this Nude eyeshadow palette. It makes doing an everyday eye makeup look- hassle free.

The formula is long lasting and there are other shades that will perform even better with eye primers while some such as the shimmer bronze can go without. This is definitely a nice travel palette to bring for vacation and just don’t forget o bring your primer along.

For this look, I’m using the middle quad shadows. It gives a soft and natural shimmery finish which is quite subtle.

All the color swatches turns out beautifully . I love all the shades in this palette even the charcoal. Is this a dupes for Urban Decay Naked Palette? Well, I will have to say there is no true dupes on the shades (I tested on the half-baked, hustle and smog from Urban Decay Naked 1 palette) with the three obvious shades from The Nude but it does provide the same feel no doubt.

Also available are The Smokes and The Bright eyeshadow palettes which in my opinion are something I will definitely pick for stash.

l.a. colors eyeshadows

Okay, let’s face it. The packaging of this L.A. Colors palette is less than attractive. It does gives the impression that this palette costs $1.25 only.  But let me tell you something, I was in that position when I first saw it. I’m like there is no way I’m going to put that eyeshadow on me but boy was I wrong. The packaging is quite deceiving. For $1.25 eyeshadow palette with 12 shades in my opinion is really something else. Makes me think how low the cost of makeup really is.

l.a. colors swatches

Average pigmentation but incredible shades when applied on lids. It blends well and no flake or fall out which I’m amazed. It has very pretty shades that are wearable for everyday look. This is not the best palette but a reasonable and super affordable eyeshadow where you can play with the shades at will. I want to think of it as a disposable palette where if I go travelling and leave it behind I’ll be okay with it.

l.a. colors eye look

This eye makeup look is applied on bare skin (without primer). The finishing looks a little powdery but no it’s matte finish and the truth being said, it stays on all day. The eyeshadow still looking good without needing for touch-up. I’m satisfied with both the appearance and the results. Moreover, the price is just unbelievingly low.

Overall, I think this would be a wonderful palette for someone who is just starting their makeup journey, or perhaps does not own many eyeshadows or hasn’t experimented with nude shades before. For that price, it worth trying out and who knows. one day L.A. Colors might step up to its plate afterall. I would love to see an improved packaging and higher pigmentation with creamier formula but keeping the price as low as possible. I see that this brand has potential and if you happen to see one at your local Target, pick one and experience them yourselves. You’ll be surprised. All L.A. Colors makeup products costs less than $3.00.

My verdict: So which one is the winner? Well, I’ll have to say both are winners. Maybelline for its continuously stepping up to par with the quality and performance while L.A Colors for their effort to bring their products to be a permanent makeup brand is more than impressive. With their super low prices, many will get the chance to look pretty too. An infant brand that needs nurturing.

As for Maybelline, they have already make their mark and I’m very happy to find an affordable palette that can feed my eyeshadow palette obsessions.

Have you seen L.A. Colors at your local Target yet? Or have you The Nudes by Maybelline? Please leave comment and share your experience below. I love to hear from you.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Top 6 Tuesday beauty makeup!

makeup look autumn

I’m back to do my Top 6 Tuesday beauty makeup. This morning I feel motivated to do a few makeup reviews. Some you have read them before in my previous blogs but there are a few which I have tried recently and I’m going to share my thoughts with all of you.

I started my morning routine, washing my face with Aveeno Ultra-Calming foaming cleanser. Next. I will apply my ever favorite Lancome moisturizer with SPF30 and apply my favorite Dream matte mousse foundation by Maybelline on and then I’m ready for my next step of finishing the makeup.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAapply bourjois concearler

I haven’t do a review on some of these products and so I’m excited to do it today. First is the Bourjois Brush Concealer. It says to apply over dark circles and eyelids for a radiant look. You see, I have dark circles under my eyes and also puffy eyes. I applied this wonderful magic concealer and the dark circles seems to have been oncealed by this amazing concealer. It’s light and the texture is not too thick. I love this concealer and have been using it everytime I need to look fresh and radiant. The pen-style packaging with its ‘turn and click’ mechanism provides the perfect amount of product every time making application a breeze. Oh yes, I picked this when it’s on discount for $8.99 at Winners retail store.

revlonphotoready compact powder   OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Next is this Revlon PhotoReady powder. I got mine in 030 Medium/Deep for $15.99 at a drugstore. I chose the darkest color shades actually and it looked medium to me when I wear it. Very slim choice of shades. They have light, medium and deep. In general, it lacks options for light and dark skin tone.

This pressed powder is not as mattifying for me. I like the radiant  and natural glow on my skin and it doesn’t show much of fine lines. It has only SPF14  which is low in term of protecting skin from the entire range of UVA. It would be good if the SPF is higher for better skin protection.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA  applying the Nude eyeshadow from Maybelline

Maybelline The Nudes eyeshadow. I got it for $14.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart when it was first released(Canadian drugstore chain). But the price of this Nudes eyeshadow palette differs from different drugstores. I saw some selling for less than $12.00 and around $15.00 depending on where you are. I love the neutral shades on this palette and the formula is quite satisfactory. There are six matte and six shimmer colors in this palette. There are also guide on how to apply the eyeshadows on the back of the packaging. I can play with many different colors options from this palette and I’m doing the brown color look for autumn. It blended very well and has good pigmentation especially the matte ones. I did a review on this eyeshadow awhile ago in my previous blog.

Rimmel Volume Accelerator mascara with volume boosting complex. This one is in 003 Extreme Black (net weight 0.23 fl oz). It has fairly long wand and this mascara is huge. A note of caution is not to start too far on the lashes because I did accidently rubbed into my eyes once. This mascara doesn’t curled my lashes but it definitely put some volume on my eyelashes.

revlon blush

Next is Revlon blush, I did a review in my previous blog together with the Top 5 blushes earlier. So, please go back to my previous blog if you like to read more about it.

Revlon colorburst

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 250 Standout Remarquable (Net wt: 0.095 oz). Yes, I love, love the color and the texture of this matte balm. It glides so smoothly and has perfect pigmentation. Available in 10 collectible shades. I love the creamy matte finish look. It’s easy to bring anywhere I go. With this, I don’t need my lip gloss since my lips does feel moist already. Overall, I love it.

So that’s about it, my Top 6 Tuesday beauty makeup and I hope you find them interesting and helpful.

What is your favorite makeup? Please share on the comment below.

Thanks for reading.
