Introduction to Making Faces Collection- Kevyn Aucoin Beauty

Introduction of Making Faces Collection is a Sephora Exclusive that consists of Kevyn Aucoins Beauty 5 most iconic makeup products. It’s a travel kit that gives you a lot of bang for your buck considering this is a high end makeup brand. Something that surprises me is that not so many people have actually talked or heard about this brand so for those of you who haven’t then let me introduce you to the collection.

Let’s start with their face products. I got this travel gift set for $35 awhile ago from Sephora and I apologise for taking so long to show it to you guys. As many of you may  know, I spent a lot of my time testing out makeup products so it just happened that this kit was buried deep in my closet until I digged it out recently.

Here’s the sample size products: The Celestial Powder in Candlelight, The Creamy Glow in Bloodroses and The Matte Bronzing Veil in Desert Night. Note that all full size products that’s available at Sephora can be a high price point.

These are sample size packaging so they’re really small as you can see. All three are packed in a sturdy black cardboard material which I really appreciate. It protects the product quite well.

ColorSwatches

The Matte Bronzing Veil in Desert Night has the most beautiful matte brown that’s highly pigmented. It goes on very nice, very smooth and so very pretty. There’s no chunks to it. I think this is very universal so it’s works for any skin tones. So stunning!

The Creamy Glow in Bloodroses is a sheer cream blush that deliver a boost of color and radiant to the cheeks. It claims the product is formulated with grapeseed oil and other natural emollients to nourish and moisturize. It buffs out very well and I’m digging it in. I love a pretty color creamy blush on my cheek but I love it even more on my lips actually. As much as I love nude lip, rocking some vibrant and darker shades is much more fun especially in the fall. Love the shade and the formula, it’s so fall like. They really kills it on this one.

The Celestial Powder in Candlelight is a warm golden candlelight toned highlighter. I’m a NC25 and it works well for me. It’s not in your face type of glow and neither was it too subtle which I personally love. The texture is smooth and nicely pigmented. I noticed is that it kick up some powder and a little chunky. It doesn’t bother me at all since I just tap the excess out before appying. Another product that I’m very pleased with from this brand.

kevyn aucoin essential mascara

Next is Kevyn Aucoin The Essential Mascara in Black. To be honest, I haven’t tried it yet so I won’t be able to give you a conclusive review of my opinion on this.

Mascara wand

But for now, here’s an up close view of the packaging and the wand/brush applicator. Its big brush can pick up a lot of product and easily put on lashes. The wand is slightly bent at the tip so that you can easily get product onto the inner lashes.

I heard some mixed reviews of this product so I’m really intrigued to test it out real soon for you guys. So don’t forget to stay tuned for the update once I’ve given it a fair test run.

Kevyn Aucoin Flesh tone lip pencil

I’ve been obsessed with lip liner lately and this warm color lip pencil in Bloodroses is just right up my alley! Is it coincident for it to have the same name as the Creamy Glow blush?

Tone lip pencil

Let me tell you this. This Flesh Tone Lip Pencil from Kevyn Aucoin is my jam right now. I’ve been using this everyday for the past one week by rotation with the L’Oreal Color Riche Matte lip liner that I’ve loving. It just lines so well, very smooth and the color is so pretty. The only pet peeve is that you’ve to sharpen it.

Lip pencil color swatch

I gave it a twirl and here’s what it looks like. Goes on very nice, soft and creamy. As you can tell it does look like blood roses!

Do you guys like to match your lipsticks to the season? I’d love to know what your favorite fall lipsticks are. Let me know in the comments.

If you want to see any detailed reviews of these products, leave your comments below, you guys know I read all your comments.  So, let me know which you want me review first.

So, let’s get started with this PR unboxing.

*PR Samples

I’ve this Weleda, they’re starting to sent out PR products which you guys know I like that. I got a few samples from them in my mail recently. I’m super excited about that. Shout out to M2 Brand and thank you Weleda!

I got the Age Revitalizing Day and Night Cream, Evening Primrose Revitalizing Body Wash, Calendula Intensive Skin Recovery and last but not least is this cute Mighty Essentials travel bag. All products mentioned here are available now at Weleda online website.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

There are six skincare products catered for different skin types and skincare concern. Here’s a closeup look of what’s available on their website.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

First thing first is the Calendula Intensive Skin Recovery cream. It says here on their website “highly concentrated, soothing care for minor skin irritations and sensitivities. It’s ideal for sun exposure and after shave.

I love to be productive whenever my health allows, so last weekend as I was clearing some cedar bushes in my garden, I noticed later that my hand was super itchy with red bumps. I suspect my skin must be allergic to the cedar plants. Couldn’t have gotten this on a much better time. I applied it on and it makes the irritation less itchy and and clam the redness. I’ll continue to use and report back of any new developments.

Next product I got is the Evening Primrose Age Revitalizing Day Cream. Note that the products are cruelty free (no animal testing) in case you’re wondering.

It says on the packaging –

  • Certified Natural
  • Organic, Wild crated ingredients
  • No parabens
  • No GMOs
  • No aritificial fragrances or preservatives

This is my first time trying out the day cream so yes I’m really excited about that. I really like the consistency, it feels amazing and very moisturizing. I tried it on my hand and I notice it gives my skin a nice glow-y look. One thing I want to put it out there is that you certainly could to smell the scents of the primrose oil. I love the aromatherapy scents that feels so relaxing. I don’t mind the heavy primrose smell because it fades away eventually and it didn’t linger on which is good news.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I went through a lot on night cream so I’m excited to try this one out tonight. I find the consistency of the night cream is a little thicker than their day cream. Both creams are not sticky or tacky whatsoever. These applies very well on skin.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here’s the consistency of the day cream that I want to show you guys. I really like the texture to be honest. It’s not runny or too thick to blend. So, I like it.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I really appreciate samples that comes in full size especially when it comes to body wash. So, as I was doing the unboxing and saw this big tube of  Revitalizing Body Wash, I know I’m going to share it with my hubby. Yes, I’m excited for that  as well!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Last but not least, I also got in the box, a Mighty Essential Travel Bag which is so cute. It includes five essentials that’s a must have when you’re travelling or on a short vacation. I’ll be going for a few short trips this summer so this comes very handy.

Weleda, Europe’s leading certified natural and organic skincare. This bag is crafted with purpose by using hand-selected plants and its source from fair trade partnerships around the world. If you want to learn more about the products and farms visit their website . You also get $3 off any one full size product with manufacturer coupon. Expires 03/31/2018.

Here’s what in the Mighty Essential

Tell ’em Wednesday a collab with CurlySpringBlossom|Live Clean

Happy Wednesday friends!

It’s time for my weekly Tell ’em Wednesday collaboration post and this week I’ll be talking about beauty products which I picked up from Walmart recently. This is a collaboration blog with my lovely friend, Ingrid from CurlySpringBlossom. I’ll put her link below so don’t forget to check out her blog after this.

travel kit skin care

I picked this Live Clean Trial and Travel Kit for $7.97 at Walmart. This product is eco friendly as claimed by Live Clean. All the products inside this kit is for facial clean.

In case you’re planning on going for a trip this summer this travel set has all that you need while you’re 10,000 feet above ground. They’re all nicely packed in a travel size packaging. Initially, I got this for my daughter who will be travelling to Japan but looking at how cute these samples are I caved in to give these a try 😛

There are four sample size products in this travel kit. You got the Foaming Daily Cleanser, Smoothing Daily Moisturizer, Facial Scrub and Daily Serum. All these beauty products contains 98% plant derived from botanical orchids. Okay, let’s get started.

daily moisturizer

First up is the Daily Moisturizer in 30 ml. This is a lightweight moisturizer that quenches thirst. It’ll leave your skin soft and moist. Oh yes and I’m feeling the cool formula as I apply them on skin. It gives a nice sensation of freshness. I always tend to smell skin care products more than makeup. And I don’t scent any particular strong scents in this product. It’s has a mild fresh scents and that was it. This moisturizer is infused with orchid extracts and Vit C that calm and soothe your skin.

daily serum

Next is the Daily Serum which everyone must have, in my opinion. This tube comes in a net wt: 30 ml. I noticed that this Daily Serum is light and has a nice soothing scents which I like. It does have a calming effect on me. Having tried it for the past few nights have proof positive results. It suppose to make your complexion looking radiant . Once I’ve finish this sample size, away I go to get the regular size tube.

facial scrub

Third is the Facial Scrub which has some tiny grain of beads for scrubbing purposes. The texture is brownish in color. The grain are from the corn cobs which is gentle to your skin. I used it the past one week and so far I like it. I always love doing my facial scrub twice a week and I notice the massaging technique helps blood circulation on my skin. It leaves skin feeling calm and relax Zzzzzzz!!!

daily cleanser

Last but not least is the Daily Cleanser in 30 ml. This bottle comes with a pump applicator which is easy to use. You can easily pump out the foam cleanser with the applicator. It reminds me of the hair mousse formula very much. I don’t find any strong scents at all and it does its job to clean pores by removing excess oil, makeup and skin impurities.

To sum up, I do like this travel kit by Live Clean. This is my first purchase for this brand and I’m glad I tried it on the sample size aka travel kit before splurging into regular size bottles. Overall, I would say this is an average decent skincare products. This is a basic skincare products for a quick fix to clean and moisturize while you’re travelling.

If you are environmentally conscious and love Live Clean products, I encourage you to visit their website or Walmart to view their skincare line.

So, there you have it my two cents on this Live Clean facial travel kit. By the way, head over to Curlyspringblossom where she will be reviewing her Stila CC color correcting stick. A quick reminder, don’t forget to stay tuned until next week for a new and exciting topic. It’s a surprise!

Thank you all for the loves.

Sharon xoxo
