Milani Makeup Cruelty Free|Swatches|Reviews

Hey gorgeous,

I’m back earlier than planned. In fact, I have posted one review yesterday. I miss you guys and I just have to kick start with my blogging as soon as I’m able to sit and type. It’s like the “Die Hard” movie.

Anyways, I really want to talk to you about these three makeup products that I have tried and here are my thoughts and opinion on each. Last Friday, I did a beauty haul and since I can’t wait any longer to try them I immediately dived into swatching the colors and here is my review.

A short announcement – Milani cosmetics is a cruelty free brand company. It does not test on animals according to PETA.

These are my beauty haul which I have posted and for convenience sake here are the products from previous post.

But since I’m only going to do Milani’s makeup review today, I have included all these lovely and amazing products which I will dig deeper into. I suggest that you continue to read to find out what makes Milani products to be my next favorite high street brand.

milani ;istick review

Well, I have been eyeing on Milani makeup line for a while and as strange as it may sound I just couldn’t get a hold of this brand where I live previously. But fortunately, I was in the moon and back when I found Milani at my new neighbourhood Walmart 😀

Oh!!! oh!!! I’m so excited that I can’t figure out how do I put this? Okay, let me start by saying that this Milani Color Statement comes in a golden lipstick packaging which I think is unique. I love how the transparent bottom able to show the exact shade to choose from.

This color statement lipstick is very pigmented with a matte finish. It feels creamy and it glide easily. The shade I chose was “Naturally Chic” and this color is neutral nude and natural looking for my lips. I feel pretty wearing it.  milani blush review

Oh my gosh! Just look at how stunning this baked blush is? For $9.88 only a pot I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting a few more shades for my collection. I got Corallina in 08 and I just love, love this blush. It’s so freaking pigmented and look at the color on swatch. It has a soft shimmer which is not completely matte finish but it’s not shinny. I only swipe once with my brush to pick up the formula and look at how insanely the color on my cheekbone was! I have to say this again, a little goes a long way with such incredible pigmentation. Ah..mazing!

It’s soft and smoothly blendable. I love the packaging too. It pretty and cute. Inside the second tier is a round mirror and a semi-circle brush. I’m not so sure of the brush but the mirror is an asset for touch-up<3

milani face powder review

This Milani Illuminating Face Powder  in Hermosa Rose is lovely to look at and undoubtedly great as a bronzer and blush but less than a highlighter. I would say 85% spot on for a multi purpose product. I notice that the lighter shade in this pot doesn’t bring out the color as a highlighter. The rose-y tone blush and bronzer are pretty amazing.

This product is so pigmented and creamy that my heart is screaming with joy. I love the shade I picked and just can’t get enough of it. So, I will be going there for another round of “Beauty’s Touch” very soon. Oh dear! Did I forget to mention that the rose flowers design on this packaging is stunning and dang cute!

If you are looking for a cruelty free makeup products then look no further. You’ve come to the right place. Milani has an amazing collection of products that can’t stop to impress me. So, you rock Milani!

Is there any particular favorite products you like to share in the comment below?

Thank you for the love.

Dream Matte Mousse Foundation by Maybelline

DSC01061Maybelline Dream color swatch

A months ago at Walmart, I picked up this Matte Mousse foundation by Maybelline in Honey Beige (Medium 4). Net wt: 0.64 oz.

I tried this on and totally liked it. It felt feathery light and blends impeccably and it has a smooth whipped texture. It’s like not wearing any foundation at all. This mousse foundation is very soothing and it sets incredibly well. I blend it with my fingers instead of brush and gently work it over my face. I have been wearing this for a month and I loved it.

before foundation

It is recommended to always prepped the base before putting any foundation on. For those who has oily skin, you may skipped this step.

Coverage can go from sheer to medium and this foundation allows for built-up by layering to full coverage without looking cake-y or heavy finish. It makes skin feels wonderfully smooth and soft.

after makeup with foundation

I got many compliments for my smooth skin wearing this foundation. My face does looked more youthful and most importantly looking fresh.

Walmart has a wide range of skin shades to pick from. Sixteen of them to be precised. Of the shades available, there were options for light or dark tone. Available shades from Porcelain Ivory #1 (Light) to Toffee Dark 0 (Dark). That’s a lot of choices.

Always, make sure to get the right color shades according to each person undertone. I’m glad I found my undertone and 89% of the time I’m accurate in getting the right color shade for my skin tone. Porcelain Ivory is a good shade for fair skin tone while cocoa is a deep brown for medium dark skin tone.

Maybelline NY. you did it again, to come up with this amazing product. I just loved it. I feel fresh and great every time I wear it.

Product is reasonably priced for a drugstore brand. Packaging is adorable in a glass jar. The drawback is that the lid has to be properly closed to avoid drying up.

Which is your favorite foundation by far?

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Have a great day!

Hard Candy ~ Lip Plumper & Mascara

Good morning beauties!

Recently, I have this huge pang of excitement with mascara which I don’t usually a big fan of. I have a crush on these amazing mascara by Hard Candy at Wal-mart.

These adorable, shinny packaging mascaras drove me to get them. Which I did. yay!

From Top to bottom: Plumping Serum Volumizing lip gloss in 0.04 oz

Lashaholic Super Volume mascara in 0.068 oz on Blackest Black

Flat to FAB mascara in 0.074 oz on Blackest Black

Very affordable price and I like the way the brush works on my eye lashes. Each different brushes have its own function. I love the uniqueness of these brushes.

It said that this Lashaholic mascara works to volumize, thicken and lengthen the lashes with it’s elogated brush that separate and  define every lash to create the baddest lash ever.

The Flat to Fab provides instant curling sexy lashes. Smudge free. Love the brush that scrupt and help lift up each lash with precise definition. I’m totally in love with it since my eye lashes are short not not curly so this mascara really helps makes my eyes more pretty.

Lastly, the lip Plumping Serum. I’m not so sure about this plumping serum to be honest. This is my first time trying it. Reason been that when I applied it my lips feels like burning or stingy sensation. I used it twice just to confirm my first reaction to it. Well, it does sting a little. I did feel that my lips are a little puff up but not for too long. After the stingy left, so were the puff.

I did some readings on this topic and it seems that almost all lip plumper  contained a certain ingredient for example cinnamon oil, hot pepper or even menthol that will intentionally irriate the lips and make them swell  thus giving the plumping appearance.

For those of you who loves to have more plumper lips, it seems this can be your answer for plumper lips. But hey, for me I think I will stick with my good old lips, the old fashion way.

I hope you guys find this post interesting and helpful.

Do leave your comment below if you have any question.

What is your experience with lip plumper and what brand?

Thanks for reading and enjoy the day ahead.

Last Chance/Taupe of Drawer by Pure Ice nail polish

Pure Ice Nail Polish (2)Pure Ice nail polish

Happy Mondayyyy Beauties! … Last weekend, I spent sometime having fun playing with some of these nail polish which I got from Wal-mart for less than $2.00.  I grabbed these two fantastic colors in Taupe of Drawer in watermelon and Last Chance in purple. I think Pure Ice has 55 different color selections to choose from. They also have very cute and quirky names : ))

Taupe Drawer PUre IceLast Chance Pure Ice

The brush is thin and slim. The formula is okay in general. Not too thick nor too thin. I find the cube glass packaging adorable. The price is so cheap I wouldn’t expect much for something which cost so little. To me, for a nail polish that won’t chirp on me for less than 3 days is good enough and these nail polish has proved themselves worthy of me getting a few more colors for fall. The last time I wore them, it lasted me for about five days and I’m happy so far. Let’s face it, sometimes there are wear and tear and that goes too for nail polish.

I agree that the first coating is sheer and double coating will have a nicer look. Applying them too thick, if more than two layers might be more prone to chirping. The downside of it is that it takes a longer time to dry. So, patience is a must.

Pure Ice nail color look

I would hope and love if these nail polish lasted longer but if you plan to just wear it for an evening out or catach a movie than, it would be just right. On the photo, I applied the nail colors in a pattern style. Hope you guys like it!

Oh yes, Pure Ice also came out with their 3 in 1 Top Coat which is selling at Wal-mart. Thought you might want to know.  Please let me know if you would like me to make a review for this One Stop Shop (3 in 1 Top Coat).

Moisture Renew Lipstick by Rimmel

Two weeks ago, as I went window shopping at Wal-mart. Just checking if there were any new products for fall season. My five year old son was with me at the makeup section and he picked up this lovely color (Rosette) for me to purchase. Well, this was not the new collection from Rimmel. But then I thought, well I haven’t been buying lipsticks lately and I desperately need one. I preferred to get Revlon because I just love the creamy and matte texture. Anyways, so thought it would be a good idea to get this one. First reason, so that I will not disappoint my son and second I pretty much like the color when I made a color swatch. I believed there were like twenty different colors to choose from. So, I paid $5.47 for 0.14oz.

I got to admit that this lipstick was too creamy and it glides easily on lips. It’s smooth and nice on the lips but in my opinion the formula was too moisturizing or I would say wet.  It’s smudges and on top of that, Oh dear, it has such strong scents. I can’t tolerate the smell of the roses scents (too strong for a lipstick).

I like the color I got in Rosette but not so much on the texture.

I put on the lip liner before applying this super moisturizing lipstick. It’s super pigmented and that might be the reason why it bleeds color like crazy.

This lipstick has intensed color shade. It’s bright and had glossy finish. So, when I tried to check on the color transfer. I was suprised to see the amount of the color transferred. I refused to believe to get three times of color transfers by just applying one coat of lipstick. I rest my case.

The color wasn’t as long lasting as the Kate Moss Long-lasting lipstick by Rimmel. I’m terribly disappointed with this one. I don’t see myself wearing this lipstick again. It will be in with my other Collectible haul (products that I will not used again).

For that price at Wal-mart or any drugstores, and to pay $2 more, I will definitely go for Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks ($7.99 at Target) anytime than to go for this particular product.
