Tester Wednesday: Wet n Wild Au Naturel Eyeshadow Palette

Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog! I’m so excited to bring you this review!

First let’s get the deets out of the way.

Wet N Wild Au Naturel Eyeshadow Palette is one of those gems where you can get two palettes for CAD$15.00, which in my opinion is an insanely steal!

These 10-pan palettes are priced at a low CAD$7.97 each and available at Walmart exclusively. The two shades are called Nude Awakening and Bare Necessities. For me, Nude Awakening is definitely the best looking of the two as it has that really rich brown and burgundy shade.

Both palettes feature an assortment of matte, shimmers, satin and sparkle shades. I think it’s fantastic that they included so many mattes, as most of their palettes tend to go the sparkler route.

The two palettes that I picked up are: Nude Awakening (top) and Bare Necessities (bottom)

I like the presentation, it’s sleek and small, Wet n Wild always keeps it very simple. Size wise these palettes are  pretty travel friendly. You can easily fit one into your to-go makeup bag. Convenient isn’t it!

Nude Awakening

As usual Wet n Wild knocks it out of the park with their highly pigmented formula. Very nice color selections in this palette.

This palette features 5 matte shades and 5 shimmer and satin, which is a great combo and should please everyone. There is a very nice matte black that gorgeous burgundy/berry shade and those two darker browns. The tau[e/rosy matte shade is beautiful and the shimmer shade all swatched very smoothly and aren’t all glittery. The 5th shade was a little chunky but it’s also one of the prettiest shades in the palette. Overall, I’m quite impressed with the quality and especially for the price. I don’t have anything bad to say about this palette frankly.

Here are the color shadows breakdown from left to right:

1-A matte cream

2-A pink champagne glitter

3-A rose gold shimmer

4-A bronzey pink shimmer

5-A mauvey pink shimmer

6-A matte rosy brown

7-A matte burgundy

8-A satin brown red with micro glitter

9-A matte chocolate brown

10-A matte black

It also comes with a double ended sponge tip applicator. I don’t use their applicator for blending eyeshadows but if you’re travelling and need to have a last minute touch-up, this would come in handy.

Nude Awakening

Keep your eyes peeled, here’s the color swatches for your eyes to feast!

I wore the Wet N Wild Au Naturel Eyeshadow from the Nude Awakening palette for the past last week and it definitely delivers a beautiful look. I found the shades to be pigmented, easy to blend and they stayed on all day. I didn’t  wear any eyeshadow primer and the staying power lasted for about 6 hours until I took it off in the evening and overall I was very happy with the look I got. I’ve to say that I’m really impressed!

Bare Necessities

The shimmers in this Bare Necessities palette are very nice too, I only had a problem with the last shade (the glittery black) which has large chunks of glitter and not a lot of pigment. But the gray and brown shades next to that are both really nice. I’m also really digging that 5th shade down a lot.

This palette is the more neutral of the two. It contains more golds and taupes than it’s rosier sister. This palette only contains 2 mattes. The rest are shimmers and satins.

The shades on this palette is amazing as well. You get more shimmery shadows in this one compared to the first palette mentioned above. The color swatches on my bare hand is so pretty but I find the blending needs more effort. I also experience a little fallout from the gold color eyeshadow which is not a big deal for me. I just use a Q-tip to clean it up at the end. Easy peasy!

Here are the color shadows breakdown from left to right:

1-A satin white champagne

2-A light rose gold shimmer

3-A true gold shimmer

4-A bronzey gold shimmer

5-A bronze shimmer

6-A pinkish taupe shimmer

7-A cool time matte gray brown

8-A cool tone matte brown

9- A steal blue shimmer

10-A matte black with silver micro glitter

I’m a huge Wet n Wild fan and I was so excited to get my hands on these. I own a lot of higher end palettes and sure, these drugstore ones will never compare in quality, but I’ve such a love for affordable and accessible makeup.

My favorite of the two is Nude Awakening and I highly recommend it but if you’re a eyeshadow palette collector like myself then I would suggest getting both so you can really have a more varied selection of shades for more looks. At this low price, why the heck not?

Now, what are you waiting for! Run to your nearest Walmart now and grab it before they’re all gone!
