Blogtober* Top Ten Satin Eyeshadow Palette by Hard Candy (Review & Swatches)

 

Hey guys! Today I’ll be talking about Hard Candy Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palette. Heads up that this post is going to be photo heavy, I’ll show you a closed up look of this palette as we go along.

I asked you guys what you like me review first and many of you requested for a review on the Top Ten Satin Eyeshadow Palette by Hard Candy. I always feel that the eyes are super fun!

So, let’s jump right in!

First thing first, I bought this lovely 10 pan eyeshadow palette by Hard Candy at Walmart. In case you don’t know, you can only find Hard Candy Cosmetics exclusively in Walmart. If you want to see what other beauty haul I picked up from Walmart, I’ll put the link here.

This palette housed 10 gorgeous shades and they’re gorgeous shades. I could stare at these colors all day. I really like the color selections in this palette.

A breakdown of the metallic shadows runs as follows:- (L-R) you’ll get a gold, greyish blue, bronze, greyish green, taupe, grey purple. While the other side of the spectrum which is the matte shadows, you’ll get a blue, brown, coral pink and dark taupe.I think these are so pretty colors for fall.

I really love the cute packaging and let me tell you, I’m obsessed with anything silvery and this palette just proves it. The cover has a soft silver cushion material with diamond pattern and silver studs on them. They’re pretty lightweight and a little flimsy.

For the price, this is a nice pick up palette without needing to break the bank. It won’t blow up your beauty world and let me be honest with you, this is a decent palette to get if you’re looking for something on a tight budget.

I imagine it’ll be something I might pick up quite often whether I’ll be using it alone or using some of the shades to accent another eye look!

These have soft, sheer color pay off but build easily enough. The metallic shadows are pigmented but a little powdery (you can see in my pic above how they kick up a good deal of powder) in my opinion.

Swatches on bare arm – no primer or eye base used when I did this color swatches. What you see is what you get directly from the pan. I think these shadows will look much more intense if applied over eye primer.

While I had an issue with a few of the mattes, the shimmery shadows were fantastic! Gorgeous, pigmented shades at an incredibly low price. I believed I paid $6.58 for this palette.

They wore quite nicely without primer on this look. It lasted me for a good 8 hours without any touch up.

NEW Hard Candy Metallic Mousse – Review & Swatch

 

Hi guys! How’s it going? Comment below how you spent your weekend. I’ve seen weekend progress threads floating around on facebook and thought to share it here with all of you. I’ve a group thread running this on Sunday but I’m incorporating it here on Monday’s blog as well, in case many of you might’ve missed it.

Anyways, let’s jump into the review in full detail:

Hard Candy recently released their new metallic liquid lipstick in Walmart. I’m like WHAT!!! I’ve only seen these in one Walmart so far…so check around! I haven’t seen them on the Walmart website yet either. 😦

Available in seven pretty shades in Sandstorm, Truffle, Gilded Cocoa, Sweet As Honey, Smoke & Mirrors, Queen of Hearts and lastly Penny Talk. I absolutely love the packaging, it’s thin and it’s sleek. The see-through tube with rounded edges gives some modern kind of look.

They’re so travel friendly and don’t use a lot of storage space in your purse either. 

The one that I’ve with me is the shade Sandstorm. This color is of brown rustic tone. It’s quite long lasting.  The formula is super pigmented and the color payoff is true to its color.

The applicator is soft and typical doe foot type with a long wand. It helps to hold the applicator properly and helps in better precise application. Overall, the packaging is quite impressive.

They set to a high-shine metallic finish. It feels moisturizing and comfortable on lips. But just a note of caution when dealing with creamy formula is that it transfer crazily.

The pros of this matte metallic mousse are as follows:-

• Really nice packaging
• Nice applicator
• The formula is so pigmented and creamy
• None sticky
• High shine finish
• Long lasting
• Doesn’t smudge
• Affordable
• Cruelty free

Will I recommend this Hard Candy Metallic Mousse Liquid Lipstick? Well,it all depends of each individual frankly. But one thing I learned is that it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. You gotta to be someone who’s willing to step out of your comfort zone and be super trendy.

Tell ’em Wednesday a collab with Curly Spring Blossom|Hard Candy

Happy Wednesday friends!

It’s time for another Tell ’em Wednesday collaboration with my dear friend Ingrid at curlyspringblossom. I’ll leave her link below so that you can check out her blog and give her a follow if you haven’t. If you are new here, what both of us basically do is to pick up a drugstore product between $5-$10 price range and do a review every week on Wednesday. We wanted to share our personal experiences by trying out the drugstore makeup first hand with all of you.

Today, I’m very excited to be sharing with you the new Glow All The Way Blush by Hard Candy. So, let’s roll:-

I was at the Walmart store and saw this blush at the Hard Candy’s shelves. I’m like “Ahhhh!!!” This is so beautiful. It is a Glow All The Way Ombre Baked Blush in Punch. Here are some of the pictures that I like to share with you guys. I have been experimenting quite a lot of this blush lately and having said that I need to know if the shade looks as pretty as it is on face.

When I first touched it, I’m like okay it seems a little dry to me and just seems bright on the swatch and the texture seems a little dry! I wasn’t expecting that it’s going to translate much on the cheeks but Oh boy! watch out – this is sneaky it’ll show up a lot on your cheeks in a big way. In a very pretty bright way!

It’s bright and glowy. This is very pinky and very cool toned blush. I did the color swatch of both the blush and highlight on my arm. You can see that there is no glittery or shimmery on this product but it has a lot of glow coming out of it. If you prefer a neutral, peachy matte looking blush than you’re not going to like it.

I like this product but I’m just don’t know if it’s everyone’s cup of tea? It’s bright and glowy as it is. Extremely bright particularly if you want to layer the highlight over the blush. This Baked Ombre Blush comes in two glowy shades. One in Sunburst and the other Punch. Available exclusively at Walmart or Hard Candy online.
