The Body Shop Concealer Pencil

Hey everyone!

Today, I will be doing a review on this lovely concealer pencil. Well, I do need a eye concealer when it comes to doing my full face makeup. I especially love this concealer because it gives a good amount of coverage on my dark circle area and some uneven skin.

So, this awesome concealer works wonders on me. It glides so smoothly and blends well. It’s creamy and smells good too. This jumbo crayon style concealer stick is perfect to have. It’s thick and able to cover a bigger area where I want to mask my dark circles.

I did a color swatch in 04 shade. It’s available in five different shades for the price of $12.00 a pencil. It needs a large pencil sharpener size for sure. Other than that, I think it is a good buy for those who has blemishes and redness for coverage.

I read some articles on using a stick concealer in general. The advantage is that it’s easy to apply but too heavy to use over breakouts. So, basically, for very creamy concealer, it will not hold up for the oily skin person and on the other hand,  for those with dry skin, you might want to try to avoid using ultra matte finish.

The proper method I learned is to use a concealer after applying foundation but not the before. Finishing touch using powder if you love your makeup to last the whole day 🙂 It doesn’t matter whether it’s a translucent, loose, pressed or setting  powder. You will be amazed!

Overall, I’ll give a 7 over 10 rate for this concealer pencil. I totally love this concealer.

So, what’s your take on this? Please leave comment below.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Beauty Haul – Combo Mix Makeup

Happy Friday friends!

Finally, I got some of the makeup for this week’s beauty haul that I have been meaning to talk about. I got them from different drugstores and at Target. So, this is going to be an exciting haul since as you can see they’re sort of a mixed an match haul. Let’s see what I hauled in the bag 🙂

beauty haul beauty haul combo

elf HD Blush in Diva  from Target for $8.00 (net wt: 0.34 fl oz).

Maybelline Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara in Black (net wt: 0.29 oz)

The Body Shop Concealer Pencil in 04 for $12.00 (net wt: 0.13 oz)

Nivea Pure & Natural in Milk & Honey (net wt: 0.17 oz)

Physician Formula Happy Booster in Bronze/Natural (net wt: 0.38 oz)

Sax Elegant Makeup Book in Fantaisie de printemps for $7.99

elf hd blush

I picked this elf HD Blush in Diva because it has such a lovely and vibrant color. I tried it on my hand before picking it up and the pigmentation is remarkable. It might be a little too pinkish for me but I have to try it anyway. I just love the fact that with just a tiny squish of this formula, is enough to cover both my cheeks. There are 5 beautiful shades available to choose from.

So, a little goes a looong way. Besides, the price is reasonable and the quality is good. I like this bottle packaging that comes with a pump. The downside of this elf blush is that is has a heavy color stains. I feel that it’s impossible to blend well especially when it started to dries up. You will like it if you have been using liquid blushes before.

eyepalette sax

Sax Eyeshadow Book is another item which I picked up at  my local drugstore. Sax is an Australia cosmetic brand. I put a link here SAX. I just loved the packaging and bought it for that reason. There are 12 color shadows and all having shimmery finish. Average pigment formula and soft in texture. It consists of 2 pretty blushes which has nice dewy coverage. I paid $7.99 for this book.

maybelline masara big eyes

The next is Maybelline Big Eyes waterproof mascara. Well, I’m not a big fan of mascara because it gets messy on me but when I do, I love to wear pretty mascara that can elevate my lashes more. I picked this because of the duo ended brush. One for the upper lashes and the other end for the bottom lash. I read some good reviews on this product and so I wanted to try it.

the body shop concealer

The body Shop Concealer Pencil is something that I have been longing to get. Since I have dark circle under my eyes, this is like my most wanted makeup ever. It masked blemishes, uneven skin tone and redness. It has 5 color shades to select. Definitely a good buy for me. Anyways, I will try it and share  my 2 cents in my next post.

nivea lip balm (2)

Okay, this Nivea lip balm is more of a random picked since it was on sale. I have used Nivea products before but never on lip balms. So, I don’t mind trying it out and see if I like it. And since I have too many lip balms already, I’ll give it to my husband to use. It has these pure and natural formula that I’m sure my husband will love.

physician formula blush

Last but not least, is the Physician Formula Happy Booster. It serves as a bronzer and blush. Again, love the packaging. It’s light and has a mirror on the second tier compartment that comes together with a brush. Will definitely try it and review coming soon!

So, there you have it. A combo mixed of all the beauty haul that I have purchased and hope you like it.

When was the last time you bought a random drugstore makeup? Please leave comment below. I love to hear from you.

Thanks for reading.

Flawless BB Cream by Body Shop

Tea Tree BB Cream  body shop bb cream

The Body Shop ~ Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream  in Dark shades

Today, seems like a good day for me to share some information on what I read about BB cream. The trend seems to have started from Korea in 1990’s but was founded some 50 years ago by a German Doctor for the sole purpose of covering scars. From my understanding BB cream was recommended by dermatologist to cover the scars and help heal the skin. But I guess it went saturated and so we have all the creams from A-E.

BB cream was one of the hottest trends in the beauty industry last year and it doesn’t seems to stop there. Clearly catching onto the alphabetization theme, then came CC cream, even DD cream and now EE cream which were just launched by Estee Lauder recently. That was  the newest EE cream = Enlighten Eye effect skin tone corrector SPF30. So, all these creams have become popular simply because the demand was there.

I am also among the people who are using BB cream in order to get a quick fix on my face before putting up makeup.

The BB cream formula and color swatch. 3 available shades of Light, Medium & Dark

Are you wondering what my favorite BB cream is? First of all, it’s important to analyse my skin tone type and preference on choosing my BB cream which might be different from yours. I have dry skin and so I will prefer to choose a dewy finish with natural coverage and light texture. I don’t want to feel like I’m wearing it at all.

Finding a right BB cream can be a challenge. It has to fit just right. I have tried many BB creams and finally I found my true love with this Tea Tree Flawless BB cream by The Body Shop. It hits all the criteria I mentioned and I love wearing it.

The formula has a darker tint but when I apply and blend them in, the color just don’t looked so dark on skin. Last time I check, my face and neck has the same color tone (photo below). Yay!!!  True that it doesn’t have full coverage but I’m fine with it as long as it covers some of my uneven skin and that it gives a dewy finish.

The texture is a little bit more liquid-y than the Korean BB cream which are much thicker.  As for this Tea Tree BB cream I can feel the cooling and relaxing effect from this amazing cream. Also the smells are just so wonderful.

As for the price, I paid $15.00 for it and with the special offer of Buy 3, Get 2 Free promotion at the Body Shop, it’s a good bargain.

So, overall I like this Flawless BB cream very much and will continue to wear it and planning to get a lighter shade for winter since my color tone changes and also to catch the promotion while it lasts.

What is your favorite BB cream you are wearing?

Thank you for taking the time to read.

The Body Shop ~Beauty Haul!

It’s Friday!!!

Happy Friday friends. Guess what I am going to share with you today after my last Friday’s haul on NYX makeup. I’m always happy to do my haul and you are all an encouragement to me. Thank you.

When the Body shop have one of their sale of Buy 3, Get 2 Free, it takes quite a lot of willpower to resist it. To be honest, I’m quite a big fan of Body Shop on bath & body, skin care and makeup products. So, with sales like that, it’s going to take a tranquilizer to put me down (ha!ha!ha!).

So, here are some of the haul which I spent about $70.00 in the store. I got them several weeks ago. It’s just sitting there and waiting for my review. It’s strange how I didn’t do my haul on these earlier. I’m always excited to share newer hauls and so once I forgot then it will be sitting there until today. But don’t worry, the sales are still on their website.

The Body SHop Beauty Haul

The sales includes all bath & body, skin care, makeup, hair etc…  I will definitely be reviewing the majority of the items I’ve bought in due course, after I have been able to thorougly try them out.

Color Crush Shine Lipsticks in 201 and 130

I love lipsticks and I told myself that I’m just going to get one but ended up getting three in total. I paid $12.75 for each.

The Body Shop website says that it’s an irresistible lipstick that gives a sheer wash of colour with a sorbet-fresh shine. Each moisture-rich lipstick is infused with a delicate rose fragrance. I can’t agree more. I always prefer to go for matte and creamy finish but since it’s sooo irresistable I got them in sheer finish. What am I thinking? Hmmm…. probably impulse buying! But the colors are nice. Perfect to wear them for doing shopping errands.

The Body Shop Lipstick in 07.

The trouble I have with body shop’s lipstick is that there is no color name description on their packaging or even on their website. They only use color code on its packaging label. I find it hard to distinguish which red and the other darker without having a color name to link. But I guess that’s just me. Overall, body shop’s products are  really amazing and I have been using their bath & body products for decades. I have confident in their products and that’s part of the reason why I branched out to their makeup section to try them out.

Body Shop Vit e moisturizermoisture cream body shop

Vitamin E Moisture Cream for All Skin Types on Daily protection and moisturization (1.7 oz)  $18.00

I need moisturizer for my dry skin and I picked this up for cloudy or rainy day’s wear. It doesn’t have SPF but I plan to wear it when the sun is hiding behind the clouds. It says to provide daily moisturize and hydrate skins leaving it feeling smooth and soft. I tried it in the store and I can feel the cold, soothing and soft cream on my skin. It has a lovely smell too. Can’t resist so this goes in my shopping basket.

body shop camolie makeup reomver makeup remover cream

Camomile Sumptous Cleansing Butter (net wt: 2.7 oz)

This is the product that caught my eyes. I have my usual Estee Lauder eyemakeup remover but this one looks unique. I like the tin can packaging. It’s a simple design but light in weight. It does have a gentle soothing smell which I really like. The salesperson tried it on my hand and it feels buttery and it does removed the lipstick swatches I made earlier while at the store. I have’nt had any butter type of makeup remover before and this one  impresses me.

Tea tree flawless bb cream

Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream in 03 Dark color shade (net wt: 1.3 fl oz)

Well,  I mentioned earlier that I bought these items several weeks ago when I still got my tan. So, the dark shade in 03 fit my skin tone but now as the weather gets colder I need a lighter shade of Medium. There isn’t much of color shades selection to choose from. It’s either Light, Medium or Dark. I might just get another medium for autumn till winter.

Tea tree always comes up with incredibly wonderful tea scents on body wash, lotions, tea tree oil to name a few which for me is quite rejunevating and therapeutical.

Since the promotion is still on and the weather is getting colder, I don’t mind getting a lighter color of Tea Tree BB cream now.

Products are never tested on animals, and all their products are 100% vegetarian.

So, there you have it. That’s all that I bought from the Body Shop on this week’s beauty haul.

If you bought anything from the 3 for 2 promotion, I’d love to know what you bought?

As always. thank you for reading.
