Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette by Urban Decay – Review & Swatches

Hi everyone! It’s Sharon here. Thank you for stopping by my blog.

Yes, I finally got my hands on the long awaited Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette by Urban Decay from Sephora. This is the latest Vice collection palette if I’m not mistaken and yes, I’m super excited to do color swatches and post review for you guys.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

When I think of Urban Decay Vice, I instantly think of punchy color and ubiquitous glitter. Oh yes, give it all to me! Whahaha!!! Anyone feel the same way or is it just me?

An awesome packaging that wow me from right from the start.  The Vice palette has an awesome colored web design on the outer casing – or maybe it’s meant to look like shattered glass?  In any case I really like the packaging, and also the black and silver holographic makeup pouch that it comes in – great for keeping the palette safe from scratches when travelling, or your could fill it with your brushes and other makeup. So another reason to makes Vice 4 a great addition to my palette collection!

Inside the palette you also get a nice big mirror, and a double-ended eye brush, which is a good quality and properly useful brush, rather than those annoying sponge applicators that everybody hates.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

So here is the review.

The Vice 4 palette contains a variation of colors with mostly satin, shimmer and glittery finishes.

Given the variety of hues, I fell in love with the Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette upon first glance, zeroing i0n on the pinkish orange shades that seemed to be missing from my arsenal. There are a few matte finishes (with “Bitter” being a standout), but most are either shimmery or glittery, with varying degrees of pigment and fallout. It doesn’t bother me since I always tap my brush before applying.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The size or this palette is the same as Vice 2 that I have. But this one is far thinner than the latter. I’ll do a side by side palette comparison on my next blog post for you guys.

Scroll further down for color swatches:-

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This palette contains a mix of matte and shimmer shades in both warm and cool tones. Initially, I wasn’t very inspired by the shades but after swatching them I changed my mind all together. A really interesting mix of tones which are great individually or layered on top of each other.

Mattes: Bitter (slightly powdery; warm medium brown), Discreet (smooth beige-y pink), Framed (light apricot)

Satin: Bones (a little powdery), 1985 (bright fuchsia), Underhand (royal purple), Harlot (lilac), Robbery (silver with a pink undertone)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Shimmers: Fastball (chunky, shimmery warm toned pink), Grasshopper (stunning bright green), C-Note (teal with monochromatic shimmer), Beat Down (smooth deep purple with purple shimmer)

Glitters: FLAME (Orange with gold shimmer/glitter), Grip (taupey-grey with monochromatic glitter), Low (smokey purple with silver glitter), Arctic (turquiose with silver glitter looks different in the pan), Crowbar (grey with gold reflect/glitter), Pandemonium (purple with sliver/purple/pink glitter) THESE WILL HAVE FALLOUT.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The swatches of the eyeshadows on my hand are without primer. This is to give you an idea of their opacity without building. If you want more impact and longer wear, I highly recommend using a primer underneath these or any other eyeshadows.

For the glittery shades like “Flame,” “Low,” and “Crowbar,” in particular, make sure you use primer and/or use your finger to apply (instead of a brush) OR apply with a damp brush which usually works for me.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

First Row:

This one seems to have a lot more colors that can be used regardless if it’s day time or night time. How cool is that, right!

Just look how pigmented and beautiful these shadows are. The colors are intense and you could definitely create many different look with this palette.

Second Row:

Third Row:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Fourth Row:

The only complain I want to put it out in terms of chalky and powdery shadows are the shades in Low and Crowbar. These are the only two shadows that I don’t really like on texture and formula consistency. It’s as if they’re from different palette all together.

My eyeshadows and falsies matches so well together I had to document it. I’m so impressed with all of the colors and they’re so blendable. Oh boy! The looks you can make are endless I tell you.

I would definitely recommend this to people looking for something different and looking to add a pop of color to their eye looks.

Are you a Vice palette brights fan, or do you prefer the tamer Naked collections?  I love to hear your comment below.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope I’ll see you guys again on the next one. Bye!

Sticky Post: 2016 Spring Collection

Hello beauties!

It’s easy to think about summer, hot days and a vacation on a tropical island when you see the new 2016 Summer Collection and I’m referring to nothing than Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Exclusive Blush Palette will be out Jan 12th online (Which is TOMORROW!)

Urban-Decay-Spring-2016-Gwen-Stefani
by Urban Decay

What did you get? Six gorgeous shades of blushes for US$45.00 a palette. I know what you think and I know you know what I’m thinking. The price is definitely a factor for me when it comes to blushes but we’re talking about Gwen Stefani. If you break down the math, it comes to $7.50 a pan which isn’t so bad in my opinion.

One Palette, Unlimited Possibilities: Vice 2 by Urban Decay

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Thank you for stopping by my post, lovelies!

vice 2 urban decay eyeshadow palete

It’s time for one of my favorite posts again!!! It’s One Palette, Unlimited Possibilites update. I love doing this series because it really makes me use my eyeshadow palettes. I love palettes, I love buying palettes, and I seem to love storing palettes too… Because unless I force myself, I will just use what I’m used to, instead of trying out all the different things I have. Am I the only one?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

So for this post, I chose to use Vice 2 Eyeshadow Palette by Urban Decay. I chose this palette for one specific reason, you must have known that Urban Decay Vice 4 has been released and I just want to put out Vice 2 in the radar before the new palette gets all the hype.

eyeshadow vice 2

These shadows are amazing. They are soft and buttery. They don’t kick up a ton of powder, wasting product. They blend amazingly well. They are pigmented. And they last. My shadow didn’t budge one bit. Lastly, you want to know that the packaging is sturdy and portable.

vice eyeshadow 1

Let’s start with what I loved. I loved how the shadows were separated with the top half being cool and the bottom being warm and how they were arranged from lightest to darkest. For whatever reason, it appeals to me visually when shadows are arranged that way. These shadows were great. They were creamy and blended well, they were easy to use, and I had no complaints about their functionality.

smokey eye

Here is my EOTD look which I created using the pink and brown shadows from this palette.

vice eyeshadow

Overall, my opinion is that if you don’t own a ton of vibrant eyeshadows, or a ton of eyeshadow palettes, you might love this palette and it may be all you need. But seeing as I am an avid makeup collector and have other things like this .. it’s a winner in my book.

Final Look! Done!
EOTD Look!<3

I hope you like this EOTD and you can hashtag or tweet me on the eye makeup look you create using Vice 2 Eyeshadow Palette. I have nothing negative to say about these. I love and recommend them. Go get you some!

Which Urban Decay Vice Palette would you be getting?  I love to hear from you in the comment below.

Dupe or Dud|Eyeshadow Palettes

Finding dupes for products you love is the best way to save money. No doubt the process could be challenging and time consuming but here’s where I come in. Recently, I just found a product which could be a dupe or dud and I’ll explain it further down in this post. I’m excited so let’s jump right in ….

NK3 vs

I’m using these two palettes as you can on the picture above to compare if The Blushed Nudes by Maybelline is a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette 3. Well, you may know that Maybelline has recently launched a few of the larger 12 pan palette which makes so many of us excited, right and The Blushed Nudes was the new palette on the block.

sharonbeautyprime

Well, I have another palette from Maybelline which is the original The Nudes Palette of which I put a full review in the link here. It’s a neutral shade eyeshadows with a mixed of warm and cool and matte and some shimmery which I don’t think they’re trying to dupe any Naked 1 or 2 palette but when I saw The Blushed Nudes at Walmart I can see the resemblance of it with Naked 3 palette. I put a flash picture up beside each other as you can see on the picture above.

naked palette 3

Here you can see that it’s not only that they have the same color to tee but it looks like the colors are in the same order.

NK3 eyeshadow palette

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette shadows are very creamy pigmented and the shades are gorgeous. There are three matte shadows and nine with shimmery finish. This Naked 3 has seemingly the most cool pink color shades in one palette followed by Taupe.

UD Naked 3 color swatches

Here are the color swatches right out from the pan. Awesome shades from Naked 3 Palette, right?

The blushed Nudes palette

I noticed that the Blushed Nudes has a decent pigmentation on the darker shades but the lighter shades doesn’t seems to show up on my light-medium skin tone. I really really want to love this palette but I could only use half of this palette. On the other hand, I can wear all the eyeshadows on my Naked 3 palette.

maybelline eyeshadow palette

Inside look of The Blushed Nudes 12 pans palette by Maybelline.

The Blushed Nudes Palette is a nice palette if you love shimmery and satin finish but sadly it has only one matte color in Mauve (5th shade on the top row swatched) which I’m a little disappointed for it’s so light that the color doesn’t even show up on these color swatches above and bottom pictures.

nk3 vs blushed nudes

For this purpose, I primed my arm which I don’t usually do on normal swatches for a better view. The top row is the Naked 3 Palette and the bottom row is The Blushed Nudes. Naked 3 has a wider range of pinkish tones and the pigmentations are right off the bat richer. The texture was so much creamier and smoother than the other palette.

Naked 3
Naked 3
The Blushed Nudes
The Blushed Nudes

As far as outlast and out wear, I feel that both of these palettes are quite compatible worn with eye base, In terms of price, there is a huge difference but when comparing quality, I still reach for my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette simply because the shades are more versatile and it’s rich in pigmentation which The Blushed Nudes lacks on some of the shadows. So, Urban Decay is still the winner in my book. I’m not saying that it’s a bad palette. For a drugstore brand and affordable price with decent quality, I think it’s on point to cater for different market group considering L’oreal owns Urban Decay and Maybelline. This is a no brainer for beauty fanatics on a budget, right?

There may not be dupes for every single shade in the Naked 3 palette here, but there are shimmers and mattes in the Blushed Nudes palette that very closely resemble shades in the Naked 3 palette. And you know what? That’s good enough for me when I’m on a budget buy!

Whew. I think that about covers it..for now! Any questions about anything mentioned above, just let me know on the comment section below.

Do you think it’s a dupe or dud?

Thank you as usual for taking the time to read.

Back To Basics – NAKED PALETTE BY URBAN DECAY

naked basics palette by UD

You’ve been pleading with Urban Decay to release a matte version of the Naked Palette and Naked Basics is their answer. This is not their new releases but rather the contrary. I wanted to get this Naked Basics Palette to compare it with my Naked 2 Basics Palette (which I did a full review, click link) for you guys. I just received it a few days ago.

color pan UD

This is a six full sized eyeshadows in a plastic rosy pink packaging. Net wt: 0.30 oz for US$27.00 or CN$34.00 at Sephora in-store or online and at Ulta. The packaging is light and very easy to bring anywhere. It comes in a full size mirror with neutral shade eyeshadows.

There are also three light shades in the palette, though they each have a different tone. So, they’ll work differently for cool, warm, and neutral looks but can feel repetitive.

color swatches NK basics

Here is the color breakdown from left to right: Venus (soft, off-white demi-matte), Foxy (very light yellow/beige matte), Walk of Shame (very light pinky nude matte), Naked 2 (rosy taupe matte), Faint (warm, dusty brown matte), and Crave (deepest, darkest brown/black matte). These are all matte neutral finishing shadows. I just want to put it out for you to know.

ccolor swatches closed up NK

In terms of the texture – it feels silky, smooth and phenomenal. It blends well and works even more intense with primer. The top swatch is on bare arm and the bottom is with primer. Spotted any difference? These are all lighter shade shadows for cooler undertones, if you’re looking for a neutral finish. On my medium skin tone, I’ve to work on with primer to get the lighter shade more visible on my eyes.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

If you’re a fan of neutrals, or you know someone who loves or perhaps, has to wear neutrals, I highly recommend, for this is a must-have palette. But if you already have Naked Palettes (Naked & Naked 2) then you might want to skip this one out since I noticed a few similar shades on Crave=Blackout, Venus=Bootycall, Naked 2 = Naked and Faint=Buck.

These shadows are densely pigmented with stay true-to-pan color payoff.  I wore this over immediately after taken pictures and swatches in the morning and the staying power was amazing. It doesn’t show any fading for half the day I was wearing it and it stretched until evening–with a primer. I’m liking it and will continue to wear them by rotating it with my other favorite palettes. But, honestly I feel that Naked Basics 2 gives me more color payoff for my skin toned while Naked Basics has lots of highlighter to play with 🙂

So, that’s it for today’s post and I hope you find it interesting and helpful. Until next time, stay beautiful!

What is your favorite shade from the Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette? Don’t forget to leave your comments down below. I love to hear what you think.

Thank you for the love and for taking the time to read *-*

Drugstore Madness Wednesday|Quo Back To Basics Eyeshadow Palette

Quo Back to basics palette

I’m an eyeshadow palette junkies, and I’m not going to hide it. I got to admit that I’m super obsessed with eyeshadow palettes.

So, today, I’ll be sharing with you another new brand which caught my eyes at Shoppers Drug Mart ( Canadian drugstore). I love this palette! It was re-released again this year as part of the Quo Holiday 2013 collection and I bought mine like just recently. Regular price was $25.00 but I got this for a special discount. Uh huh! I paid $15.00 only for this bad boy! I’m grinning from ear to ear 😀  Absolutely love, love the price but let’s get down to business … inside the palette, whahaha!

qua eyeshadow palette

This Quo Back to Basics Eyeshadow Palette contains 12 gradient eyeshadow shades including light, neutral and darker, smokey shades along with a full-size eyeshadow brush. Does this palette reminds you of any high end ones? I’ll review the answer below for this palette could be a dupe. Continue reading …

DSC06102

The packaging is of cardboard material but sturdy. I like the pattern on this year’s palette better, still gold, still beautiful but not too busy and more elegant. It also has a magnetic closure with a decent size mirror inside. Net wet: 12 x 1g = 12g. It has a clear plastic film placed on top of the eyeshadows, taped down on three sides. This will help avoid testing/ contamination, which is always a plus.

the brush

The brush fluffy, thicker and soft. It works well for packing on eyeshadows. Black handle, with gold ferule. A small detail but I think Quo should put its brand logo on the handles of these brushes, making them look more professional and with brush numbers. That would be cool!!!

quo palette

The shadows are lovely and pigmented, and are also pretty and wearable shades that would suit everyone. The shades are so wearable or versatile.

UD vs Qua palettes

I honestly love it! Its very similar to the Urban Decay Naked palette, but half the price. It features very similar colors as the Naked Palette. The Quo shadows have a great texture. They wear very well and blend nicely. All of the shadows have great pigmentation, especially the darker shadows.

UD naked palettenaked palette by UD

Since I’ve my beloved Urban Decay Naked |Palette, |I’m going to show you the comparison between these two palettes and I’ll tell you if this Quo could be a dupe for the Naked |Palette at the end of this post.

Above is the Urban Decay Naked Palette with the color swatches on my bare hand. That’s right, not on any primer just naked. What you see is what you get! It’s my most favorite eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay.

Naked vs Quo

Thought you guys want to know how close it is to Urban Decay Naked palette, so let’s get to it.

Here they are, Naked on the top and Back to Basics on the bottom. First glance, they are very close except for Toasted (fourth shade in from the right) looking a little lighter than the shade from Quo. The size of both palettes and colors are so closely similar. The order of the shadow placements in the palette and even the shadow brush. Whoa! Too much insanity here, right now! But you still haven’t seen the color swatches yet. Scroll down below.

DSC06121

Oh yeah! Now what do you think? Can you spot the difference?

light shades palette

I don’t know about you but I can’t tell them apart except at closed-up or on swatches. Even though I know that Quo makes good eyeshadows but I am still impressed to see how smooth these applied and how similar they are to their Naked counterparts.

darker shade palette

The texture of this Quo is freaking amazing. It’s buttery soft and so smooth. Blends so ell and live the soft shimmery finish. It has 4 matte shades in this palette which is pretty awesome!

color satches comparison

Here are the color swatches on bare arm as usual. Amazing pigmentation on both palettes. I did not experience any chalky texture or fallout from either palette. OMG! I got so giddy while swatching, I couldn’t stop smiling. I love Quo!

light shades swatches

Lighter shades comparison and the darker 6 down below. The lighter shades you could definitely use them as highlighter or on your inner corner wherelse the darker shades are more my go to colors for nude, dramatic and smokey eyes.

darker shades swatches

As suspected, Toasted UD swatched (on the left) has a darker bronze while the Quo shade showed up as a lighter bronze. The other three follow most of the pairs compared above: dupes head on! In fact, I think the Quo shade that is paired with Gunmetal might actually more pigmented.

ud nakedquo eyeshadow look

You can easily create casual looks , as well as beautiful soft cut crease. The top picture I’m wearing the Urban Decay Naked Palette and the one below is Quo Back To Basics Palette. Can you spot any difference whether it’s a high end product or a drugstore brand?

I would absolutely recommend this palette to anyone! It’s a great value , and an overall great product. Note that the palette is Limited Edition, as part of the holiday collection which you can still find some at some local Shoppers Drug Mart. Head over there today and grab this while it lasts.

This palette is good for beginners or for collectors considering the price of $25.00 compared to Urban Decay which is $60.00. And, it’s not a must have if you already have Naked Palette. Let’s just say this is a budget friendly alternative 🙂

I love to hear what you think of this palette if you have tried them before and share your comments down below.

Thank you for taking your time to read. Truly appreciate it.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil|First Impression

Hey guys!

Today I’m going to talk to you about Urban Decay Lip Pencil and my lip tutorial on how to whip up a full and semi-ombre lips. Oh… I love ombre lips and have been obsessed with trying out with several different looks but today I’m just going to do a semi-ombre only. Many of you may know that I’m a proud owner of this Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Liner pencil which I got from my Ipsy Glam Bag. Yay!!!

ipsy urban decay lip liner

I did mentioned in my previous post that I’ll be doing a mauve lip look using the Urban Decay lip liner and that day came sooner than I thought. I’m so excited to share some of my lip tutorial using the Urban Decay lip pencil and lip gloss.

So, first thing first. The products needed for this look are :-

NYX Butter Lip Balm in Lady Finger, NYX Lip Liner Pencil in Mauve, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil in Ozone and Lip Gloss in Bittersweet by Urban Decay (samples are from my Ipsy glam bag).

ombre lips part 1

I start with applying NYX lip balm on my naked lips. Once it’s moist I go ahead to draw the lip outline using NYX lip liner pencil in mauve. I draw both top and bottom lips. For nice even lip, I usually use a darker shade on the outer lips and moving inwards with lighter shades.

Once I have a nice and even outline, I continue by applying the lip gloss in Bittersweet by Urban Decay around my lips but still leaving the centre untouched.

ombre lips part 2

Lastly, I just use the Urban Decay Lip Pencil in the centre of my lips and again outside the lip outline so that the NYX lip liner won’t budge. Immediately when I tried this lip pencil on my lips, the tip broke because it as too soft. I have to sharpen it to do this lip look but there are sharp edges after sharpening that makes gliding a challenge. This ozone shade is in clear transparent that doesn’t show anything except been a lip gloss. It feels more like a primer than a lip pencil and I’m fairly disappointed to say the least. I heard many good reviews on this 24/7 glide on lip pencil but mostly in its color shades.

For me, this Ozone lip pencil doesn’t do anything for me except that it does hydrate lips. It supposed to block feathering and smudging. I feel that this clear Ozone formula lacks something important. The fact that it’s in clear transparent shade makes it difficult to know if it actually works or just a gimmick. I’ll have to say that this is not my cup of tea 😦 I will not repurchase it. This is just my own opinion and maybe you might like it, I don’t know.

Who love a good ombre lips this summer? Have you this Ozone Lip Pencil? Is it a hit or a miss for you? Please leave your comment on the section below.

Thanks so much for reading, love! ❤

Sharon xoxo

The Lipstick Tag

Hey friends!

lipstick tag

Lately, I have been super obsessed on doing beauty tags and I thought this is a fun tag to share with all of you. Seeing not so many of you are doing this tag, I thought of doing it today and if you like this tag and are obsessed with lipstick then you shouldn’t miss this out.

Hi, my name is Sharon and I’m a lipstick addict. I love lipsticks ❤

The Rules

  1. TAG 3 bloggers who answer the similar questions.
  2. Those bloggers will TAG 3 more bloggers of their choice with the same questions & rules.
  3. No tagging back (mentions are fine).

The Questions

1) How many lipsticks do you own? 52 and still counting! I think I have yet to earn the title of a hoarder. 😉 (giggling!!!) Does anyone beat me to it yet?

2) What was your first ever lipstick? It was a long time ago but if memory serves me right. I vividly remember getting it as a gift from my Aunt Angie. It’s the Sothy’s nude lipstick in matte and I still love it until this day.  It was one of my most favorite lipstick.

3) What is your most worn lipstick? Definitely, Revlon Matte Lipsticks in Mauve It Over for day look and Really Red when I’m looking for a bright and intense lips. A nude shade that is perfect and matches any outfit, brightens your face and is good for everyday. Hurray!

4) What is your favourite brand for lipsticks? Honestly, I really do not have a favourite brand. I have been hooked to trying new lipsticks everyday ever since I started my beauty blogs.

5) What is your favourite finish? Semi-matte to matte!

6) What is the last lipstick you bought? MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo! (I’ll be doing a review pretty soon). So, do stay tuned!

7) How many lip products do you currently have in your bag? Just One. Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in Barely There. I usually keep in my bag a lipstick that I’m keen on wearing since it is the perfect shader for my taste. Nonetheless an everyday neutral nude in case you forget to put something on or for a quick touch up.

8) What lipstick do you use to rock a red lip?I love a bright coral-red, so my NYX Round Lipstick in Eros will pull the trick and also because it has a semi-matte finish.

9) How do you store your lipsticks? They are stored in my multi purpose beauty storage drawer in my Sephora gift box 🙂

10) What lip products are you currently lusting over? The next item to buy on my wishlist is no doubt the ever-so-classy Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick. The only thing holding me back is my indecision over the one perfect shade.

Isn’t talking about lipsticks so much fun? I tag three bloggers as the rule requested and each one of you guys who is reading this post. Leave your links if you have already done this tag. I’d love to read it! Oh yes, let me know, how many lipstick do YOU own? 😀 I’m curious to know.

1) Plus+Beauty

2) Dream and Dazzle

3) Curlyspringblossom

Thank you for taking the time to read this tag. I hope you find it interesting and fun 🙂 See you tomorrow.

The Urban Decay Mariposa Palette|Swatches|Review

Hey beautiful! Today, I’ll be reviewing a recently acquired item from Urban Decay. It’s a beautiful eyeshadow palette which I adore. Oh my gosh! I’m so thrilled to do the color swatches and my thoughts on this eyeshadow palette.

urban decay mariposa

I admit that Urban Decay is one of my favorite high end brand when it comes to  eyeshadow palettes. Many of you might know that I’m totally addicted to eyeshadow palettes . Here I present to you, the Mariposa Palette by Urban Decay with net wt: 10 x 0.03 oz. It comes in a metal tin packaging with a hinged lid. In the palette are ten gorgeous shades of  neutral shimmer and a travel-sized eyeshadow brush. The palette is almost a perfect square with rounded edges. It looked small when I first got it, but it’s actually a perfect size!

eyeshadow palette

These are the shades included in the palette:

Top row from L-R: Rockstar (deep eggplant with metallic), Gunmetal (dark grey with silver glitter), Skimp (pale nude/beige with gold shimmer), Infamous (fuschia pink), Wreckage (shimmery dark taupe)

Bottom row from L-R:  Haight (shimmering mermaid blue), Money (silvery pale green), Mushroom (shimmering fawn), Spotlight (medium taupe with gold sparkle), and Limelight (bronze with gold glitter).

I noticed that the new shades that were included in are Infamous, Limelight, Spotlight, and Wreckage.

eyeshadow palette

You may notice that there is no mirror in this palette which is quite unusual for Urban Decay palettes. The exterior packaging is unique with an engraved butterfly and the lid shut well. The only problem I have with this palette is the interior whereby the cardboard does look a little cheap in my opinion.

mariposa shadow palette

L-R: Rockstar – Gunmetal – Skimp – Infamous – Wreckage

L-R: Haight – Money – Mushroom – Spotlight – Limelight

color swatches ud

The fuschia pink (Infamous on the left) and mermaid blue or teal (Haight on the right) are very bright, the others are basics and go with just about everything. Infamous and Haight are two of my favorites, it’s bright and seems to be calling to me (giggling). I guess probably because I’ve been quite influenced by the Disney Princess movie. My other favorite is Wreckage. Totally love the bronzy finish. I would say that I’m a matte type but when it comes to this gorgeous shimmery finish, I just can’t say no. I’m hooked!

infamous

Overall, they are definitely fun. There is nothing boring about this palette except the misses on spotlight and limelight.

The eyeshadows are nicely pigmented and has very beautiful shimmer without going crazily overboard. For this look, I use one eyeshadow, the Infamous on bare lids. It’s blendable and long wear. I’ve been wearing it the whole day yesterday and are very happy with the performance appearance.

So, there you have it, my first impression review on Mariposa eyeshadow palette by Urban Decay. I’m satisfied and happy with the performance of this palette.  The shadow textures are quite nice and easy to blend. If you enjoy shimmery neutrals with a few bright shades, pick this up! Available at ebay online.

NAKED 2 Palette by URBAN DECAY|Swatches

Hey gorgeous!

I’m here to talk about another of my favorite palette from Urban Decay. This time round is the Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette. Many of you know that I’m a huge fan of Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes and for those who don’t, I guess after reading this post you will get to know and understand why I love Urban Decay’s eyeshadow palettes.

On my several posts back, I did reviews on Naked 3 and Naked palette but today I’m super duper excited to be doing color swatches out of this Naked 2 palette that I just acquired recently. So, now I’m officially a proud owner of three Urban Decay Naked Palettes… whoa…ha!ha!

The packaging for NAKED 2 is quite similar to Naked 3 which is of metal tin packaging. It consists of twelve beautiful color shades for natural everyday wear and evening smoky eyes look.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette ($54.00 for 0.71 oz.) contains twelve eyeshadows:

So many times, I’ll come across a neutral matte eyeshadow and first I’m like “yay” and then when I noticed the shades are all so shimmery that my next reaction goes “boo” 😛

I didn’t mean it in a wrong way. I mean, I love sparkle and shine but sometimes it’s just nice to have one or two shades of matte in the palette. I’m always happy with Urban decay’s eyeshadow palettes since it seems to keep things interesting.

So, this is another reason I’m crushing on this Naked 2 palette. It has twelve gorgeous neutral shades in shimmery or frosted finish are the Half Baked (Copper Brown), Booty Call (White Beige), Chopper (Orange Red), Snake Bite (Dark Bronze), Suspect (Champagne Bronze), Pistol (Grey Brown), Verve (Beige Grey), YDK (Coppery Red) and Busted (Burgundy) and yay!!! – three matte shades of Foxy (Yellow Beige), Tease (Mauve Brown) and Blackout (Dark Black).

It comes with a dual-ended brush – the Good Karma Shadow/Crease Brush. I love the fact that this Naked 2 is also of warmer-toned shades as Naked 1 even though there are many similar shades to merit both. But I’m all about neutral warm shade, babe! (giggling!!!)

Behold as I guide you inside Naked 2 eyeshadow palette. Be marvelled by the beauty of this yet another incredible Naked palette by Urban Decay.

Out of the twelve shades only five are NEW. They are Foxy, Chopper, Tease and Pistol. My favorite shades are Half-Baked, Chopper, Snake Bite and Pistol. I’m planning to do a FOTD makeup tutorial in my next post using these favorite color shades I mentioned with a review up next.

The quality, overall in my opinion is good. I love how pigmented each formula is but I don’t think it’s as good across the board as the first palette, but for $54 and twelve full-sized eyeshadows it’s certainly worth taking a look at.

I just think that if you have Naked 1 already then Naked 2 isn’t much of a leap. I believe that Naked 2 is born out of demand for its warm-toned neutral shades from its predecessor while promoting a few new shades for us to play with.

It’s available at Sephora, Amazon, ebay and online.

Which Naked Palette will you pick?

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Urban Decay Naked Palette|Swatches|Review

Hey my loves!!!

Remember I did a review a couple of month back on Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette and today I’m going to share with you guys another of Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette which I picked up recently. I love the Naked Palette since I heard raves on all these Naked Palettes and I as usual curious to find out and gladly try them for my next makeup review.

Naked Palette

So, as you can see I have another palette under my paw and I just can’t help but to scream in excitement when I saw this parcel in my mail box. Let me tell my love for Urban Decay palette is true unless proven otherwise.

Oh gosh!!! Here with me is the ORIGINAL Naked Eyeshadow Palette by Urban Decay and I’m so excited to share my opinion and thought on this palette with you guys.

package thickness

This Naked Urban Decay palette packaging is made of velvety chocolate brown exterior with golden trim logo on the casing. Inside the palette is a average size mirror with twelve lovely color shadows. I personally love, love this palette. It has a very sophisticated look and I think this is the best palette to date from Urban Decay. The darker shade looks perfect for smokey eyes look and the lighter for daytime makeup.

Included in the palette is this soft synthetic Karma shadow brush for blending. I’m mesmerized by these amazing shades on this palette. Every shade is so soft, smooth and incredibly pigmented even the mattes.

Many of you may know that I did a review on Naked 3 Palette on my previous post and in comparison with this Naked Palette I find that the latter has more neutral shades which you can really work on for a nude or dramatic finish look. Whereas, the Naked 3 seems to lean more to the pinkish hues that gives beautiful, soft rose shimmery finish. I love both palettes very much and again the color payoff  is so amazing and I just love how easy it was to blend with a drop dead stunning look. I will be doing a makeup tutorial for daytime and night time makeup in my next post using this fabulous Urban Decay Naked Palette.

color swatches naked palette

After doing the color swatches, here is what I found: There are only two matte shadows and they’re Naked and Buck. The rest ten shadows are either with frosty or shimmer finish. There are five new shades in this palette. In my opinion, Gunmetal and Creep looks very close in tone while Darkhorse is of .

Behind this box packaging … it says “Go Naked and not neutral …. clothing is optional”! lol

It’s A…MA…ZING!!! Worth every dime in my opinion, if you ask me.

Whatever you’re looking for in an eyeshadow is all compacted here in the Naked Palette. A very versatile eyeshadow that you can wear day and night. A must have!

I’m not affiliated with them whatsoever but I just wanted share the love with you guys.

Thank you so much for your love!
