Primary Color – Blue Eyeshadow Look & Review

DSC03328

I’m doing a single eyeshadow review cum how to use the 2nd primary color Blue in this post. In my previous post I did mentioned of doing a Red Primary color but since I’m doing this topic of reviewing a Blue eyeshadow by Joe Fresh, I thought this would be a better idea of combining the two together in one post. Hope it’s alright with all of you. If you like to check on my previous posts, continue reading and hop over to the link here.

Let’s start by the review first. I picked this eyeshadow up because the color seems to be calling to me and as many of you know me that I’m a sucker for cute and lovely packaging, so this eyeshadow must not leave my hand. I got to have it and without saying, it was in my previous Friday Makeup Haul (full review) ❤

DSC03330

As you can see, this single eyeshadow comes in a decent size eyeshadow pan and the packaging makes it looks more classy in my opinion. It’s not of glass material but it sure looks like an expensive packaging on first glance.

DSC03331

Check this out beauties! The texture is soft and smooth and look how pretty the pigmentation is. It blends well and glide like a dream. High pigmentation and incredible long wear. It doesn’t crease or give you any fall out, what else can one ask for right! I’m really impressed with this eyeshadow.

DSC03335

I notice that Blue color shadow looks pretty on brown eyes by contrast and from the pictures below, you can see that I put on a few blue tone shadows from Joe Fresh and BH Cosmetics Baked shadows to share a few different eye shadow look using one of the primary color BLUE.

blue eye makeup look

The top row is by BH Cosmetics where the texture are more intense since it’s from baked shadow.

The 2nd and last row, I’m using the eyeshadows from Joe Fresh in Petrol. I just use a single shadow from the Petrol (blue) which seems to be trendy these days.

While the bottom row, I used the Petrol (blue) with a plum shade from the trio palette by Joe Fresh to do a soft everyday wear. A not too dramatic look.

So, there you have it a review of Joe Fresh single eyeshadow product and how to make an eye catching Blue eye makeup using the 2nd primary color. Up next is Red.

Overall, I really love this eyeshadow by Joe Fresh and I’m going back for more color choices for this summer 😀 The quality is very impressive and the price is affordable. If you happen to shop at JC Penny in US or at Loblaws or Superstore in Canada, stop by and check them out. Joe Fresh Cosmetics will be hitting all Canadian drugstores (ie. Shoppers Drug Mart) by 2016.

I hope you enjoy reading this post and find it interesting and helpful. Until next time, stay beautiful!

This is their new Core Collection Nail Polish by Julie G. I got mine in Damsel (mid-toned pink creme). Net wt: 0.35 fl oz for $3.99 a bottle online. Available in 62 pretty colors to choose from.

Julie g nail polish ingredient

No animal testing = cruelty free product. The quality of this formula is impressive. This Damsel is a pretty color that I’ve gotten the chance to share what is it all about.

Julie g nail polish

The formula is good, I found it to be a bit sheer and though it did build – it took 2 coats for full opacity. I love how easy it was to apply and it dries up quick.

Overall I’m satisfied, I don’t know if it might wear better for other people but for me I really like it.

Top 3 Tuesday Favorite High-end Lip gloss

Hello friends!

It’s November already? Oh…wow! Time do flies when I’m busy writing my daily blog! As usual, since it’s Tuesday, I better get on with my Top 3 favorites on high end lip gloss. This week I’ll be doing only Top 3 Tuesday fave instead of Top 5 on the high end makeup.

These are my favorite high end lip gloss which I love and has been using. I can foresee myself wearing them more often now as the weather draws colder and throughout the holiday seasons!

color swatches

Oh my gosh! Look at these color swatches. They are simply gorgeous. I picked these because of the smooth and easy to apply formula each of these lip gloss provides. It gives a lovely glossy finish which was not gloppy. I did my reviews before on blogs some several weeks ago. The price for the high end lip gloss are a little bit more expensive than the drugstore brands but once in a while I love to indulge myself with a special treat. I know that I will be wearing them often and it won’t go to waste. For me, that’s great value. Overall, all my top 3 favorites lip gloss which I have selected has best value for great quality products.

I would recommend that you try any one of the lip gloss above and let me know how it fairs for you? I like to hear what you think?

In this image I put 3 of the above lip gloss on. Can you spot which color shade I put and where?

Thanks for participating and stopping by.

Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner Review

kat von d tatoo liner trooper kat von d packaging
This is my first love with Kat Von D Tattoo eyeliner in Trooper (0.007 oz). I got this as a free sample when I ordered my Urban Decay Naked2 Basics at Sephora online.
closed up look kat von d liner swatch trooper
I love the design on the packaging. The black color liner is fine and liquid-y. I did a swatch and it glides very well. It’s a waterproof liner.
winged eye look with kat bottom lids liner
Today, I want to share how I create my everyday winged liner look using this tattoo liner. It has a superfine tip brush for precision drawing. Oh wow… I love the way the tip glides so easily and it’s gentle to eyes. I can do the bottom lids and applying it nearer on eyelids without causing any irritation. Sometimes, if the line is not even, I can always layer it a little thicker to make both liner balance.
kat von d side look winged liner look with Kat
It’s smooth and doesn’t smudge.  The fluid application flows easily and it’s fun to play with many different look with this liner. Winged or cat, you name it. But when I did my winged look, this liner makes drawing a thin line so much easier. With the short pencil design, I can control the liner better, perfect winged eye look without using much effort. The formula seems to dries up quickly once in contact with skin. The ink leaves some watery finish look. The liquid ink are easily removed with eye remover.

Overall, I love how it glides and not causing irritation in my eyes. That’s a plus point for Kat Von D Tattoo liner.

I think this is an incredible product but having said that, the price is at a higher end border. The last time I checked, it’s selling for $23.00 at Sephora.

Have you tried any of Kat Von D’s makeup products from Sephora? Please share on comment below.

Urban Decay  Naked2 Basics eyeshadow palette’s review coming soon on my next blog.

Thank you guys for reading.

Top 6 Tuesday beauty makeup!

makeup look autumn

I’m back to do my Top 6 Tuesday beauty makeup. This morning I feel motivated to do a few makeup reviews. Some you have read them before in my previous blogs but there are a few which I have tried recently and I’m going to share my thoughts with all of you.

I started my morning routine, washing my face with Aveeno Ultra-Calming foaming cleanser. Next. I will apply my ever favorite Lancome moisturizer with SPF30 and apply my favorite Dream matte mousse foundation by Maybelline on and then I’m ready for my next step of finishing the makeup.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAapply bourjois concearler

I haven’t do a review on some of these products and so I’m excited to do it today. First is the Bourjois Brush Concealer. It says to apply over dark circles and eyelids for a radiant look. You see, I have dark circles under my eyes and also puffy eyes. I applied this wonderful magic concealer and the dark circles seems to have been oncealed by this amazing concealer. It’s light and the texture is not too thick. I love this concealer and have been using it everytime I need to look fresh and radiant. The pen-style packaging with its ‘turn and click’ mechanism provides the perfect amount of product every time making application a breeze. Oh yes, I picked this when it’s on discount for $8.99 at Winners retail store.

revlonphotoready compact powder   OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Next is this Revlon PhotoReady powder. I got mine in 030 Medium/Deep for $15.99 at a drugstore. I chose the darkest color shades actually and it looked medium to me when I wear it. Very slim choice of shades. They have light, medium and deep. In general, it lacks options for light and dark skin tone.

This pressed powder is not as mattifying for me. I like the radiant  and natural glow on my skin and it doesn’t show much of fine lines. It has only SPF14  which is low in term of protecting skin from the entire range of UVA. It would be good if the SPF is higher for better skin protection.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA  applying the Nude eyeshadow from Maybelline

Maybelline The Nudes eyeshadow. I got it for $14.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart when it was first released(Canadian drugstore chain). But the price of this Nudes eyeshadow palette differs from different drugstores. I saw some selling for less than $12.00 and around $15.00 depending on where you are. I love the neutral shades on this palette and the formula is quite satisfactory. There are six matte and six shimmer colors in this palette. There are also guide on how to apply the eyeshadows on the back of the packaging. I can play with many different colors options from this palette and I’m doing the brown color look for autumn. It blended very well and has good pigmentation especially the matte ones. I did a review on this eyeshadow awhile ago in my previous blog.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Rimmel Volume Accelerator mascara with volume boosting complex. This one is in 003 Extreme Black (net weight 0.23 fl oz). It has fairly long wand and this mascara is huge. A note of caution is not to start too far on the lashes because I did accidently rubbed into my eyes once. This mascara doesn’t curled my lashes but it definitely put some volume on my eyelashes.

revlon blush

Next is Revlon blush, I did a review in my previous blog together with the Top 5 blushes earlier. So, please go back to my previous blog if you like to read more about it.

Revlon colorburst

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 250 Standout Remarquable (Net wt: 0.095 oz). Yes, I love, love the color and the texture of this matte balm. It glides so smoothly and has perfect pigmentation. Available in 10 collectible shades. I love the creamy matte finish look. It’s easy to bring anywhere I go. With this, I don’t need my lip gloss since my lips does feel moist already. Overall, I love it.

So that’s about it, my Top 6 Tuesday beauty makeup and I hope you find them interesting and helpful.

What is your favorite makeup? Please share on the comment below.

Thanks for reading.

Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush is also one of my favorite blush of all time. I had this for a while already and finally I got the chance to show case it as my Top 5. Yes it has those bouncy effect which I find it quite cool. This is a cream blusher that is so lightweight to powder form. It has a beautiful colour payoff and so a little goes a long way.

This little gem – Essence Kalinka blush. Believe it or not I got this for only $2.00 on liquidation sale. I simply love the cute and adorable Russian doll theme packaging that drew me to grab it. But I did find it quite pigmented and soft. It blends in quite well and it has a matte finish. Not too bad for a $2 bucks blusher.

Revlon Blush in 010 Classy Coral is a rich, quite pigmented and so wonderful soft when applying. The texture is soft and it blends pretty nicely. One thing to note is that the color of this Classy Coral which I picked has a very soft and light tone to it. So, lots of blending required for a fresh looking cheek. Good news is that the color is buildable so it works for me. There are 9 color shades available!

NYX blush is one of my everyday blusher after I started using it. It’s very pigmented, creamy texture feel eventhough it is a powder blush. Has a shimmery effect too.  It creates a really natural glow when I applied it on my apple cheek.  It glides so smoothly and I absolutely love this blusher. By the way, I got mine in copper for an autumn look. Available in 24 gorgeous and radiant colors!

Last but not least is my E.L.F. blusher. It has a silky finish which blends pretty well on my skin. The formula is silky to touch. It has a tiny, subtle amount of shimmer to it which gives off a natural looking glow. Average pigments and good value for money. I got mine at Target.

What is your favorite blusher from the drugstore?

Thanks for reading guys!
